ROCK JUSTICE is a new hard rock/metal act featuring singer Maggy Luyten (Ayreon, Beautiful Sin, The Prize, ex-Nightmare) and guitarist Bas Maas (Doro, After Forever). The upcoming debut album, „You’ve Been Served“ blends varied song styles, tied together by a nostalgic vibe and well-crafted production. The musical direction was clear: Rock ’n’ Roll! Anything between hard rock and metal was welcome as long as it came from the heart. With ’70s and ’80s hard rock and metal running through their veins, the chemistry felt natural.

ROCK JUSTICE is completed by bass player Nick McGrath, a close friend of Bas since the late ’90s and drummer Mischa Aussems. „You’ve Been Served“ was produced by Bas Maas, co-produced by Maggy Luyten, and mixed and mastered by Luca Princiotta (Doro, a.o.). The album will be released on June 26th, 2026, via Fireflash Records. It’s an album meant to inspire, lift spirits and celebrate life. For Maggy and Bas, the goal is clear: “To touch people, bring positive energy and keep real shit alive, now more than ever!”

ROCK JUSTICE is:
Maggy Luyten – Vocals
Bas Maas – Guitars, backing vocals
Nick McGrath – Bass, backing vocals
Mischa Aussems – Drums

Buzzed-About Rockers RETURN TO DUST Share New Video & Single “Sweet Escape’

Buzzed-about rock band RETURN TO DUST — Matty Bielawski [guitar, vocals], Graham Stanush [bass, vocals], Sebastian Gonzalez [guitar], and London Hudson [drums] — are back with a brand new track and it blows the roof off with the buzzsaw guitars and haunting, lingering vocal melodies the band is known for.

Today, the band shares the video for new single “SWEET ESCAPE.” Watch it here.

“Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to stop holding on to a losing situation,” the band shares about the song.

2026 has been quite a banner year for Return to Dust thus far. They have led the rock revival, as their recent single “BORED” ascended to the top of the Active Rock Radio charts and the band won the iHeartRadio Music Awards “On The Verge” award. They hit the road on a headline tour and also supported Yungblud throgh the spring. RTD also shared its cover of OutKast’s genre-smashing, 2003-released, Grammy-winning, and chart-topping mega hit “Hey Ya!,” which was listed as No. 10 on Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Songs of All Time List “(2021). Return to Dust’s cover featured synth production from Puscifer‘s Mat Mitchell. Ultimately, they took an upbeat, feel good pop classic and given it an edgy, rock ‘n’ roll makeover, infusing the track with a darker, gloomier vibe — making it truly their own.

Watch the band’s performance of “Hey Ya!” at Red Rocks HERE

The band also shows zero signs of slowing down, and will remain on the road through the fall, as the stage is band’s most natural habitat. They will appear at festivals, support Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle in Europe, feature on a handful of Yungblud makeup dates, and will then return to the U.S. to support Theory of a Deadman and Sevendust. ABOUT RETURN TO DUST:
Every ending sparks a new beginning. Return to Dust embody the sound of shedding the weight of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. The Los Angeles-based quartet brings a fresh perspective to alternative rock.

The band settled in Los Angeles to record standout single “Belly Up,” which rose through the Active Rock chart and was praised by Distorted Sound as “a grungy, punky thrill ride,” while Revolver applauded the group’s “Alice In Chains-inspired form of modern-day grunge.” 2024 saw RTD unveil their independent self-titled full-length debut with producer Jim Kaufman [Everclear, Night Riots, Helmet].

Return to Dust signed to Lava Records/Republic Records and released their Speak Like The Dead EP in 2025, featuring the breakout single “Bored,” which climbed to No. 1 at Active Rock radio. They quickly became a must-see live act, igniting stages at major festivals including Inkcarceration, Welcome To Rockville, and Sonic Temple, and sharing bills with rock heavyweights Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Billy Corgan.

Return to Dust carried that momentum into 2026, earning an iHeartRadio Music Award win in the “On the Verge” category, tour dates with Yungblud, and announcing their first European appearances at Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Nova Rock, Download, Graspop, and Tuska Festival. With a rapidly growing global presence, the band is poised to stand at the forefront of the next generation of rock music.

KONGH Return with New Album “Dissolved in Time”, First Single ‘Staining the Ether’ Out Now

After nearly a decade of silence, Swedish sludge/doom metal heavyweights KONGH return with “Staining the Ether”, the first single and lyric video taken from their long-awaited fourth full-length album, “Dissolved in Time”, due for release on September 25 via Trust No One Recordings.

Between 2007 and 2013, KONGH released three critically acclaimed albums that established the band as one of Sweden’s most distinctive voices in heavy music. Extensive touring alongside acts such as Meshuggah and YOB earned the band a devoted international following before entering an extended hiatus.

Now, KONGH re-emerge with a record that does not seek to recreate the past, but rather continues and sharpens it. Written from ideas accumulated over the last decade and developed during six months of intensive work, “Dissolved in Time” expands upon the band’s trademark blend of crushing heaviness, vast atmosphere and hypnotic repetition, while incorporating electronics, layered textures and some of the most ambitious compositions in the band’s history.

The album was written and recorded under the direction of founding member David Johansson, who performed guitars, bass, electronics, and lead vocals, while also handling the mixing process. Drawing on years of experience gained both within Kongh and through his time as a touring guitarist for Cult of Luna between 2013 and 2019, Johansson shaped a record that is both deeply personal and structurally expansive.

The first glimpse into this new era comes with “Staining the Ether”, presented here as a specially edited ten-minute single version, while the full album version unfolds across nineteen minutes. The track moves through overwhelming weight, expansive sonic space, and moments of fragile and eerie restraint, offering a condensed entry point into the broader world of the album.

Speaking about the song, David Johansson comments:

“During the years when the band was on hiatus, with no plans in sight of bringing it back, this song slowly and silently developed in the back of my mind. It began with that eerie opening riff and gradually expanded into what it is today. I think it’s a very complex yet organic composition. Not the kind of song I would sit down and write over a weekend. It evolved over several years and through different phases of my life. It’s a 20-minute journey through heaviness, complexity, and existential themes. In my opinion, it is the ultimate Kongh song.“

Tracklist:
01. Staining the Ether (18:51 min)

02. Guided to The End (07:02 min)

03. Dissolved in Time (13:21 min)

Furthermore, “Dissolved in Time” features contributions from several key figures in the Scandinavian heavy music scene, including three of Johansson’s former bandmates from Cult of Luna. Christian Augustin performed drums and engineered the vocal sessions, while Kristian Karlsson engineered and mixed the drum recordings. The album was mastered by Magnus Lindberg, who also worked on KONGH’s 2013 release, reinforcing a sense of continuity in sound and vision. Additional backing vocals are provided by Jörgen Sandström, known for his work with Grave, Entombed, and many other seminal acts.

David Johansson on the new album:
“After ‘Sole Creation’, it felt as though Kongh had fulfilled the artistic vision that inspired its creation in the first place. There was no reason to continue simply because another album was expected. Music needs to come from a genuine creative necessity. For many years, Kongh remained dormant while life moved in other directions. Eventually, new ideas began to emerge, and over time they became too strong to ignore. During those years, I also immersed myself in audio engineering and music production, which ultimately allowed me to take on the role of the album’s main producer. That became a way of bringing the music even closer to the vision that has always defined Kongh. This album exists not because of nostalgia, but because there was once again something that needed to be expressed.”

Tim Bertilsson of Trust No One Recordings comments:
“Having worked together almost two decades ago, releasing the band’s debut album ‘Counting Heartbeats’ and the follow up, ‘Shadows of The Shapeless’, I’m stoked to welcome David and Kongh back to the label. Kongh has always been in a league of their own and ‘Dissolved in Time’ is a further proof of that.“

Rather than functioning as a reunion in the nostalgic sense, KONGH’s fourth album stands as a continuation – a record shaped by absence, persistence, and renewal. It reconnects with the foundations of the band while presenting its most focused and fully realized expression to date.

“Dissolved in Time” will be released September 25 via Trust No One Recordings on CD, LP + digital formats and is now available for pre-order here:  PHYSICAL | DIGITAL

Line-up:
David Johansson – guitar, vocals, bass, electronics
Christian Augustin – drums
Jörgen Sandström – backing vocals

CASTIEL Unveil New Single + Video ‘Act III: Vile Spirits’ from Upcoming EP

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: CASTIEL. Leave a comment

Austrian deathcore collective Castiel continue their immersive journey into psychological and emotional disintegration with new single ‘Act III: Vile Spirits’, the third chapter from their forthcoming EP All Returns to Hollow and Silence, due for release on 24th July via Seek and Strike. Following the anguish and emotional decay explored in previous singles ‘Act I: Defile // Denounce’ and ‘Act II: A Festering Wound‘, the latest instalment marks a chilling turning point in the story, where pain gives way to numbness and the last remnants of humanity are willingly abandoned.

Blending crushing deathcore intensity with a growing sense of atmosphere and unease, ‘Act III: Vile Spirits’ explores the severing of emotional ties, the rejection of memory and the embrace of an all-consuming emptiness. As the EP’s protagonist descends further into isolation, the track captures the moment where grief no longer hurts because there is nothing left to feel.

The band commented: “‘Act III’ shifts the focus from emotional pain to inner numbness and a final separation from all things human. Relationships are severed, memories are cast aside, and emotions are controlled or erased. The “crown of nothingness” symbolises the acceptance of this inner emptiness and the loss of personal bonds.”

Pre-save All Returns to Hollow and Silence here: https://orcd.co/castielep2026

All Returns to Hollow and Silence is a genuine step forward for the band. Drawing from a diverse range of influences, Castiel have crafted a sound that is pulled together with purpose. Firmly rooted in deathcore, the EP pushes beyond the genre confines, embracing contrast and atmosphere alongside its more destructive elements.

Speaking on the release, the band said: “This EP is heavier, more brutal but also more emotional than anything we’ve done before as a band. We’ve pushed ourselves creatively while staying true to who we are, this feels like the most complete version of Castiel yet.”

The new EP is built as a continuous story with each track acting as a chapter in a wider narrative. That idea carries through visually too, with every song set to receive its own video.

At its core, All Returns to Hollow and Silence explores the shifting relationship between two central protagonists, tracing a journey shaped by tension, transformation and emotional conflict. Subtle inspiration has been drawn from the lore of World of Warcraft, particularly the arcs of Arthas Menethil and Jaina Proudmoore.

Musically, the release channels the oppressive weight and atmosphere of Black Tongue and Humanity’s Last Breath, while incorporating the raw aggression of Bodysnatcher and The Acacia Strain. The result is a record that moves seamlessly between suffocating heaviness and explosive intensity.

Track-list:

1. Act I: Defile // Denounce
2. Act II: A Festering Wound
3. Act III: Vile Spirits
4. Act IV: Empty Throne

Emerging from Klagenfurt, Austria in 2014, Castiel quickly made their mark with their bleak atmospheres and downtempo heaviness. Early releases including their debut single ‘Human Scum’ and the Exitium EP (2015) set the tone, followed by Blasphemy in 2017, before lineup changes forced the band into a hiatus.

They returned in 2023 with Shadowlands, signalling a clear step up in both sound and ambition. That momentum carried into 2025’s Khaos EP, a darker, more introspective release that pushed further into themes of psychological collapse and existential weight.

Now, with their signing to Seek and Strike, Castiel enter a new chapter. All Returns to Hollow and Silence not only marks their first release under the label, but their most ambitious work to date.

Having already shared stages with the likes of Distant, Carnifex, Born of Osiris and more, the band have built a reputation for intense, no frills live shows. Stay tuned for live dates to follow.

STEVE HACKETT & STEVE ROTHERY Launch First Video Single ‘The Black Sea’ from Long-Awaited Collaborative Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Steve Hackett, Steve Rothery. Leave a comment

Two titans of progressive music, Steve Hackett (Genesis) and Steve Rothery (Marillion), come together on ‘The Roaring Waves’ – a striking and deeply atmospheric instrumental album shaped by memory, imagination, and the elemental power of the sea. The record has been much talked about over the years, and it will now finally see the day on August 28th 2026 via InsideOutMusic.

Years in the making, The Roaring Waves brings together seven instrumental compositions that move fluidly between the cinematic and the intimate, as Hackett explains, “It’s not the kind of album that guitarists normally make together.”

Written and recorded intermittently over nearly a decade – with sessions at Racket Club and the duo’s home studios – the album emerged from an organic, improvisational process. Jams and shared ideas form the backbone of the music, allowing both players to explore a collaborative dynamic defined by sensitivity and mutual respect.

Throughout ‘The Roaring Waves’, the duo embrace a painterly, almost filmic approach to composition – crafting music that invites listeners to drift, imagine, and immerse themselves. “You’re trying to create an atmosphere… like painting a picture,” says Rothery. “Taking people on a journey.”

Coinciding with the announcement is the launch of the album’s first single, ‘The Black Sea’, accompanied by a stunning video featuring Hackett & Rothery performing alongside album collaborators Riccardo Romano (who also co-wrote, mixed and played keyboards & bass), & Leon Parr (drums). Watch the video, directed by Tim Sidwell, here:

Steve Rothery comments: “I think The Black Sea is the perfect introduction to the sonic world we’ve created between us. We have a very special chemistry.”

Steve Hackett adds: “For ‘The Black Sea’, our joint guitar sounds with the keys created a strong vibe of intrigue along with a sense of a musical dark sea adventure…”

The album is also available to pre-order on several formats, including a Ltd CD+Blu-ray mediabook edition including Dolby Atmos (by Andy Bradfield) & High Resolution Stereo mixes. The album will also be available as a Standard CD & a Gatefold 180g LP, cut at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell. All feature artwork and layouts by Simon Ward. MARI BOINE Releases Beautiful New Video Single ‘Dolla’ from Documentary “Døden på Vidda (A Death in the Arctic)”

Mari Boine releases the beautiful single “Dolla” today – a song she has a deeply personal connection to. The song is featured in the documentary Døden på Vidda (A Death in the Arctic) – a film exploring the life and mysterious death of Sámi political activist John-Reier Martinsen. Mari Boine shared a close friendship with John-Reier in their youth. Both carried a strong belief in a more peaceful and just world during a time of cultural and political awakening.

“Dolla” (“The Flame”) captures a quiet nighttime moment between two lovers, filled with warmth, tenderness, and the awareness that such moments cannot last forever. Beneath its intimacy lies a reflection on love’s fragility, the passing of time, and the human desire to hold onto connection before the embers fade.

The documentary revisits the events surrounding John-Reier Martinsen’s death on Finnmarksvidda on February 1, 1986. Officially ruled a snowmobile accident, the case has continued to raise questions for those closest to him. In the film, Mari Boine reflects on her memories of her longtime friend and performs “Dolla”, the same song she sang at John-Reier’s funeral decades ago.

Listen to “Dolla” HERE

Almost forty years have passed since Mari Boine first captivated audiences around the world. Her groundbreaking album Gula Gula, released internationally on Peter Gabriel’s Real World label, introduced a powerful new voice in global music. That same year, she collaborated with Roger Ludvigsen on the acclaimed album and BBC TV documentary One World One Voice, directed by Kevin Godley with musical direction by Rupert Hine.

With her unmistakable voice and in partnership with Ludvigsen, Mari developed a sound universe entirely her own. Gula Gula earned her the first of four Spellemannprisen awards (Norway’s equivalent of the Grammy). Over the years, she has also been honoured with the Nordic Council Music Prize and the Arts Council Norway Honorary Award.

In 2009, she was appointed Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav by the Royal Court of Norway — the country’s highest civilian honour. She has also received a Lifetime Achievement Award (Spellemann 2018), the Sámi Council’s Honorary Award (1992), and a government grant recognising her contribution to preserving and promoting Sámi culture. Mari has released sixteen albums worldwide.

From the very beginning, Mari Boine has been one of the most important and outspoken advocates for Sámi identity and culture. Through her music and activism, she has inspired generations to embrace their heritage and take pride in their roots.
