Cleveland’s unholy denizens of the underground, NUNSLAUGHTER, proudly unleash their new album, ‘Satanic Chaos Legions,’ out now via BLKIIBLK. To mark the occasion, the band also shares their new single, “Unsacrament,” alongside an official music video, available below.

On the new track, vocalist Don of the Dead comments:

“‘Unsacrament’ is a declaration of war from the grave. Dragging the rotting corpse of faith through the mire of humanity. Ready to be unbaptized with the flesh of a dying god. This is our anti-gospel.“

A constant in extreme metal and an unyielding inspiration for generations of black metal and thrash provocateurs, NUNSLAUGHTER’s latest hymnal of brutality kicks off with a call to irreligious arms and doesn’t let go until the bloody end. Tracks like the grinding “Peukharist” or the uncompromising “Unsacrament” batter the senses like the bastard offspring of Slayer and ‘Earth A.D.’-era Misfits, inverting crucifixes while worshipping at the hoof of the ibex.

Having already set fire to the international metal scene with festival appearances across the globe and a European tour on the way, make no mistake: NUNSLAUGHTER’s campaign of world-defilement is just beginning.

On the new album, Don of the Dead shares:

“With BLKIIBLK on our side, NUNSLAUGHTER can ram the black horn of Satan down the throats of every metalhead on the planet, spitting fresh venom and blistering hatred directly into the rotting face of Christianity with ‘Satanic Chaos Legions.’“

Today, rising Los Angeles alt-pop band Evening Elephants release “Lazy Cries,” a new track off their forthcoming debut album Wholeheartedly, Terribly Sweet out July 31st.

Arriving on the heels of the band’s mainstage performance at Gov Ball, which Rolling Stone named “one of the best moments of Gov Ball 2026,” “Lazy Cries” marks the third single to come this year in the band’s new era.

“’Lazy Cries’ is a song on the album we had the pleasure of making with our friend and talented producer, Jason Suwito. The song came together lyrically after having a conversation around relationships and the idea of ‘crying wolf.’

The endless physical cycle of dealing with the same problems over and over until you’re at the point of exhaustion. How many times can you cry about something I’ve fixed or tried to fix? ”
-Sam Boggs, Lead Singer of Evening Elephants

About Evening Elephants:
Evening Elephants, the rising alt-pop band featuring frontman Sam Boggs, are turning grassroots chaos into national momentum. What began at pop-up Los Angeles backyard shows has evolved into sold-out dates, a viral New York City street takeover, and festival slots at Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza, London Calling, Electric Forest and more.

With over 80 million streams to date, their breakout single “Snow on The Bluff” has surpassed 45 million streams and earned co-signs from Shaun White, Nina Dobrev, and Ana de Armas. The band’s growing profile has also led to major syncs with EA Sports and the NFL, a feature on the in-game soundtrack of the FIFA Heroes video game, and a two-track promotion in McDonald’s x SoundCloud’s FIFA World Cup campaign.

In 2026, Evening Elephants ushered in a new chapter with “Simple Things,” followed by “A Digital Touch,” which NPR praised as one of its “Best New Songs.” Their ascent continued with a standout Governors Ball performance that Rolling Stone called “one of the best moments from Gov Ball 2026.”

Now, the band builds on that breakout year with its latest single, “Lazy Cries,” and momentum continues to build as the band gears up for the release of their debut album, Wholeheartedly, Terribly Sweet, arriving July 31st.

A HEAVY QUIET Confront Technology’s Dark Side on Powerful New Single ‘Downsider’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 29, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: A Heavy Quiet. Leave a comment

Blending alternative rock, hard rock, and metal, A Heavy Quiet‘s new single, “Downsider,” delivers a powerful commentary on the growing influence of technology and its impact on human connection, mental health, and modern society. The single will be released on June 26, 2026, and can be pre-saved via this link: https://orcd.co/a5pqawa

Created by musicians working across three continents, A Heavy Quiet combines the talents of Derek Graham (guitars, bass programming, and production) and Brett Ditgen (vocals, lyrics, and arrangements), with Jon Symons of Sonic Drive Studio handling mixing, mastering, and drum programming. Guitar and bass tracks are recorded in Shenzhen, China, vocals are recorded in Kansas City, Missouri, and final production takes place in the Netherlands.

Musically, “Downsider” will appeal to fans of Tool, A Perfect Circle, Ghost, and Red Line Chemistry. The track pairs heavy, atmospheric instrumentation with lyrics examining the unintended consequences of technological dependence, including social media addiction, algorithm-driven behavior, isolation, and the increasing role of artificial intelligence in everyday life.

According to Graham, the song’s inspiration came from a simple observation during his daily commute in Shenzhen.

“I always listen to music while going anywhere in Shenzhen,” Graham explains. “I started to notice that no one spoke to other people. There were lines of people sitting and standing and literally every one of them had their heads bowed staring at their phones. That’s when I realized that technology has really become too addictive.”

The song began with a series of rhythm guitar ideas that quickly evolved into something larger. After building the arrangement and recording an initial demo, Graham sent the material to Ditgen, who helped shape the structure and contributed key vocal ideas, including the song’s dramatic middle section.

A Heavy Quiet emphasizes that in addition to “Downsider’s” criticism of the unchecked growth of technology, the band’s own creative process remains entirely human, without the use of AI.

The band’s music is rooted in real-life experiences, drawing inspiration from personal struggles, loss, perseverance, and the challenges people face in everyday life. Their goal is to create songs with emotional depth while addressing issues that resonate across society.

“We are trying to write songs with deep meaning that describe the human condition,” says Graham. “Rock used to be a form of people’s folk music to speak out against things like oppression and the struggles of life. It seems rock got more commercialized and lost its way a bit. Now rock as a genre is growing again, so there is an important resurgence happening. We would be proud to be a part of that.”

Expanding on the song’s message, Ditgen describes “Downsider” as a reflection on the accelerating pace of technological integration and the unintended consequences that accompany it.

“Cell phones, apps, social media, AI, information tracking, psychologically directional algorithms, and so on,” Ditgen says. “All these aspects of technology seemingly beneficial to human progress, interaction, connection, efficiency, complete access to everything in reality are causing the uncontrollable overload of stimulation to levels of decreased mental health and increased dependencies.”

With “Downsider,” A Heavy Quiet delivers a timely and thought-provoking statement wrapped in powerful riffs, memorable melodies, and an unmistakably human perspective.

For fans of emotionally driven alternative metal and hard rock, “Downsider” offers both a warning and a reflection on the world we are creating for ourselves.

NETHERWILDS Bring Fantasy, Fury & Feudal Rebellion to Live in New ‘Return The Goat’ Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 29, 2026

The goat is gone.

And for Worm Chewer, the dirt-covered peasant hero whose bizarre and beloved TikTok adventures have captivated millions of viewers and spawned the ever-expanding world of NETHERWILDS, that can only mean one thing: war, adventure, and perhaps a slightly better life.

Today, NETHERWILDS unveils the official music video for “Return The Goat,” the first chapter in an ambitious fantasy-driven saga that blends extreme metal, medieval folk influences, dark humor, and epic storytelling. The track serves as the opening salvo from the project’s forthcoming debut album, due later this fall via King Volume Records.

Directed by Noah Douglas and Jake Thompson and produced by Nathaniel Min, the video follows Worm Chewer and his newly assembled fellowship as they embark on a quest to recover a missing goat. What begins as a seemingly simple mission quickly unfolds into something far stranger, introducing viewers to the bizarre and captivating world of NETHERWILDS—a realm populated by peasants, kings, mystics, executioners, and revolutionaries.

Regarding the video, Worm Chewer states:

“Though mine goat hath vanished, I hath gained a fellowship of minstrels. Together we roam the kingdom performing our peasant metal in search of the goat, glory, and slightly improved living conditions.

The moving visions within this tapestry mark the start of our legend together and thou art hereby invited to become a part of it. Verily, the next time your lord is distracted by counting his coins, take up thine orb and ponder upon our quest. There are dark and strange times ahead and we shall require every peasant, serf and village fool we can muster.“

Born from the imagination of Tokyo Police Club’s David Monks, NETHERWILDS has grown from a cult online phenomenon into a fully realized musical world where medieval fantasy collides with modern anxieties. Beneath the chainmail, mud, and absurdity lies a story about power, survival, inequality, and the enduring spirit of ordinary people.

Musically, “Return The Goat” offers a glimpse into NETHERWILDS‘ singular approach, combining thrash metal intensity, industrial grit, punk energy, folk instrumentation, and theatrical world-building into something wholly its own. The song marks the beginning of a larger narrative that will continue to unfold throughout the coming months as additional music and details surrounding the project’s debut album are revealed.

MORTIIS Drops New Album “Ghosts of Europa”, Out Now

MORTIIS released last Friday, on June 26, 2026, the iconic Norwegian artist‘s eagerly awaited new full-length “Ghosts of Europa“, now finally revealed in its full dark glory!

MORTIIS comments: “Creatively, this album has been very liberating, in the sense that I just didn’t care about anything but the music itself”, the Norwegian emphasises. “I suppose, I always did that, but in the past, although I kept making highly experimental music, my work was usually considered to remain ‘within this or that genre’; with one or two exceptions. As ‘Ghosts of Europa’ was born out of just making music that reflects every conceivable idea, I could think of, it also explains why it seemed to take me forever to complete. I have left hardly a stone unturned in my experimentation. I am aware that the result will probably be dubbed as ‘yet another Mortiis sound’ although that pallete has become pretty wide at this stage, but this is simply what I do: I love to try out new things, to find new ways. I enjoy many sounds. And I refuse to follow any sort of ridiculous rule about ‘staying in your lane’!”

“Ghosts of Europa” is now streaming here:

With “Ghosts of Europa”, the enigmatic Norwegian artistic entity known as MORTIIS presents an album that he views as a creative liberation. During its long and winding creation process such concepts as genre, rules or experimenting with sounds dissolved while simply making music that reflected every conceivable idea on his mind without accepting any limitations became his guiding principle.

Of course, MORTIIS‘ musical handwriting is ever present. Echoes from the often quite divergent phases of his previous works can be found across “Ghosts of Europa”. Yet the creator of musical worlds left hardly a stone not turned in his epic quest for genuinely new ways of expression. As a result, this cinematic and visionary album often feels expansive, strange, and darkly dystopian. In this, “Ghosts of Europa” reflects its maker’s struggles while creating the album – as for him, these tend to come into existence at the cost of friendships and relationships as well as much soul searching.

“Ghosts of Europa” has also been shaped to some extent by the original idea that involved a collaboration of MORTIIS with Stephan Groth from APOPTYGMA BERZERK based on their mutual fascination with the highly influential old German school of electronic music, and particularly TANGERINE DREAM and Klaus Schulze. When this fell apart, MORTIIS decided to continue on his own, and a long process of transforming the early recorded materials began.

Relics of this early stage remain in hints of the influences from Berlin as well as a host of guest contributions, but visions of bleak, desolate, and timeless alien landscapes warped and mutated the songs. This carried “Ghosts of Europa” also into spaces where MORTIIS never existed before.

In order to reflect both, the album’s general orientation towards electronic and industrial rock as well as the particularly wide range of stylistic influences reaching beyond its core, the choice of sound engineer fell on a most renowned specialist for precisely such sonic experiences: Luckily, Sean Beavan agreed to mix “Ghosts of Europa”. His credits include working with NINE INCH NAILS, DEPECHE MODE, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, GUNS N’ ROSES, and SLAYER among many other greats.

In the beginning of the artistic entity MORTIIS there was black metal. The artist Håvard Ellefsen known as the musical entity MORTIIS started out as a bass player in and during the formation of legendary Norwegian band EMPEROR in 1991 and 1992. After parting ways with these black metal pioneers, MORTIIS embarked on a solo career, the so called ‘Era I’. From 1993 until 1999, the Norwegian released six full-length albums that were entirely composed on synthesizers and are considered to constitute a fundamental influence on the later Dungeon Synth genre.

In the next decades, MORTIIS evolved and redefined his sound through several eras that embraced experimental & heavy industrial rock, a new wave of gothic & electronic influences, experimental studio works, and back to his roots.

During most of his career MORTIIS has performed with a mask and face prosthetic that turned his stage persona into an otherworldly being. Over the year, his looks have changed and evolved. For a time during ‘Era 0′, his live concept even abandoned the wearing of the iconic mask. MORTIIS’ stage entity has often been compared with a troll – a creature of Nordic folklore, which it was never intended to be according to the artist.

“Ghosts of Europa” is the sonic testimony of an experienced and matured musician, who created what he loves most and does best: electronic rock with stylistic influences from many genres while not being bound by any that creates dark soundscapes, cinematic sonic visions, and a plethora of emotions. Just when you think that you have finally figured “Ghosts of Europa” out, MORTIIS will surprise you with another facet and fresh aspect of his richly detailed masterpiece.

VOODOO HIGHWAY Release First Single & Video ‘Serpent’s Choir’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Voodoo Highway. Leave a comment

Italian Classic Hard Rockers Voodoo Highway have released the first single and video, “Serpent’s Choir” from their new album “The Satan Inqviesta” (out: Septeber 18, 2026) via Pride & Joy Music today!

Voodoo Highway was formed in Ferrara, Italy, in 2010. In the same year, the band released their self-produced debut album, Broken Uncle’s Inn. The album quickly gained strong feedback from both critics and listeners, selling out its first pressing and receiving warm responses from the specialized rock and metal press. Classic Rock Magazine UK selected the album’s opening track, Till It Bleeds, as Track of the Month.

Only a few months later, Voodoo Highway entered the studio to record the follow-up release, Showdown, working with the production team DysFunction Productions (John Wetton, Fear Factory). The album was released in April 2013 through the German label Dust On The Tracks Records. Once again, the record received strong critical and public acclaim, selling out its first pressing within a few months and ranking among the hottest releases on several online distributors. Craig Gruber, former bassist for Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Gary Moore and Black Sabbath, described the band as “the new Deep Purple.”
The artwork for Showdown was created by Storm Thorgerson, the legendary Hipgnosis designer known for his iconic work with Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and many others. Voodoo Highway remain the only Italian band to have had an album cover created by the late British artist.

Following the release of Showdown, the band toured extensively across Western Europe until 2014. In 2015, Voodoo Highway recorded and released the EP Pervert County. In 2016, they began work on their third full-length album, The Ordeal, again recorded with DysFunction Productions. The album was released in 2017 through the Greek label Sleaszy Rider Records.
After a year of live activity, mainly in Italy and the Netherlands, the band entered an indefinite hiatus for personal reasons.

Between 2018 and 2025, Voodoo Highway performed only occasionally in their hometown. During a 2025 concert in Ferrara, the band decided to record their first live album, Made in Kachot, capturing what has always been their natural environment: the stage. The album was self-released later that same year.
Also in 2025, Voodoo Highway began recording their comeback album, The Satan Inqviesta, at Sonika Studios in Ferrara, once again working with producer Eddy Cavazza, also known as Silent Ghost and formerly of DysFunction Productions.

Line-up: Federico Di Marco – vocals; Filippo Cavallini – bass, backing vocals; Massimiliano Sabbadini – hammond organ, backing vocals; Filippo Romeo- guitars, backing vocals; Giacomo Bazzani – drums
