FEUERSCHWANZ invite you to enjoy the night to the fullest and leave all rules behind with the release of new single “Carpe Noctem” feat. legendary IN EXTREMO! The song combines the unmistakable energy of FEUERSCHWANZ with the characteristic sound of IN EXTREMO. Together, they unleash an anthem to the night, bringing both bands’ voices and the unmistakable sound of FEUERSCHWANZ together. “Carpe Noctem” stands for freedom and those moments when nothing matters but living in the here and now.
The feature with IN EXTREMO could hardly be more fitting: in 2027, both bands will embark on their major “Heute wird der Himmel brennen” co-headline tour across Germany. “Carpe Noctem” already provides the perfect soundtrack for this tour – loud, anthemic and made for unforgettable sing-alongs and long nights. Before the joint tour kicks off in spring, FEUERSCHWANZ will celebrate their big METFEST on December 19, 2026 at the Grugahalle in Essen.
FEUERSCHWANZ on “Carpe Noctem”: “‘Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make’ That is how Count Dracula spoke in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel. In our journey into the nocturnal world of the walking undead, ‘the children of the night’ become ‘the warriors of the night’, and we are joined by the fine company of IN EXTREMO! As a band that emerged from the German medieval rock scene, this is a true accolade, and we are looking forward to howling at the full moon every night on the joint tour! Because it is only at night that we are free – CARPE NOCTEM.”
FEUERSCHWANZ are one of the most successful bands in German folk metal for years. With Memento Mori and Fegefeuer, they achieved two consecutive #1 positions on the Official German Album Charts. Their latest studio album Knightclub continued this successful path, taking the band even further beyond genre boundaries. Countless sold-out shows, as well as headlining and co-headlining slots at major festivals across Europe, prove that the band has reached the very top.

Jimmy Kay from The Metal Voice recently spoke to guitarist and vocalist of Zebra, Randy Jackson. In the chat, Jackson talks about the band’s upcoming new studio album, Zebra 5, how the first single was co-written with Paul Stanley and then talks about the band’s legacy and his audition for Ace Frehley’s position when he first left the band.
Watch the interview below.
When asked about the Musical Direction of *Zebra 5* “
” I’m going to say that as far as Zebra records go, it’s got a little bit of ‘Zebra 3’ in it because there’s a lot of songs that have great hooks, nice choruses to them but it’s heavier than the third Zebra album. I think people are going to love the album. I really do. It’s a variety without being too confusing.
I also did a couple of songs with Edgar Allan Poe poems. One of them is called “The Conqueror Worm,” which people may be familiar with but there’s another one that’s called “Ulalume,” or you may call it you say “Ulalume.” You know, I’ve heard it pronounced both ways, but I pronounce it “Uli,” and it’s a love song, you know. It’s strictly a love song. I usually write music around lyrics. So, this was kind of a challenge, especially because of the language and the way the sentences were formed, and the words that he used and the order that he used them in. That’s where the challenge was, you know, to figure out where, where’s the chorus going to be? Where’s the hook? What do I do?
When asked about his Paul Stanley Collaboration
” (Going back )My manager at the time, a guy named Scott Ross, he put us together. He made the connection. And, you know, I don’t really remember how he did that, but he put the whole thing together. Kiss all knew of Zebra. I mean, we had opened up for them at that point down at the Superdome in New Orleans. And, uh, yeah, and we were on the local scene. They lived in New York, so they heard Twisted Sister and Zebra, and all these bands. So they were well aware of us.
Well, the first single is going to be a song that I wrote with Paul Stanley. It’s a song called “Walk With You,” and we wrote it back when I was doing the China Rain album but it never made it to the record. Always a great song, but it was just one of those that, you know, well, we’ll put, do it on the next album or something, and there was no next album. So, going through the older material that I had, I said, this is really good, we should do this with Zebra. So, I called Paul, got in touch with him, and he said, “Yeah, that sounds good. It was one session we wrote the song in. It was very quick, about two hours. I went to his place in Manhattan. That was like 1990, right around then. The song came out great. Did a demo. It was good. I still, of course, had the demo and we just kind of went off of that. We changed the arrangement a little bit.”
When asked about his audition with KISS when Ace Frehley left the band
“They were looking for somebody after Ace originally left. So, they had heard of me and they flew me out to California and I went in and I’m going to audition but there’s no band. It’s just going to be me playing, by myself. And they put me with this little bitty amp. I did what I could. I had learned a couple of the KISS songs but they weren’t even interested in that, and it was very quick. It was interesting, and I was flattered that they called me.”
METHANE‘s “Demolate” isn’t just an album; it’s a declaration of war on the mundane. Get ready for a wild ride where intensity reigns and the spirit of thrash explodes in a furious sonic onslaught.
The album is available on CD and a ltd. colored (neon yellow) vinyl. If you order on Bandcamp, you get a free signed poster on top; you also find an exclusive sexy shirt there.
To celebrate the album release, METHANE reveal a new video clip for the album smash hit “I Fuck For Beer“.
„‘I Fuck For Beer‘ is exactly what it sounds like. No shame, no filter, just the truth about what people will do when they’re desperate. The lyrics were writen by all 4 of us on tour, in a cabin in Finland somewhere between Helsinki and Turku. We all wrote a couple of lines and I pit them together”, comments Tim Scott.
Born in 2012, METHANE quickly combusted, reverting to the pure, unadulterated thrash metal roots of its founders, Tim Scott (formerly of Death Metal cult act REVENANT, with John McEntee of INCANTATION) and Jimi Mästerbo. A relentless touring machine, METHANE has left a trail of destruction across countless stages in Europe and the U.S. through headline runs, support slots with bands like WHIPLASH, WARBRINGER, NERVOSA, MASSACRE, and festival appearances such as „Sabaton Open Air“, „Speed Metal Party“, „In Flammen“ and others.
Their sound is a blistering, high-speed assault designed for the pit.
The crowd yelled, “Play faster!” They did! METHANE is ready to unleash their explosive new album, “Demolate”, which will be released on their new label Fireflash Records (HOLY MOSES, MEZZROW, SAVAGE MANIA a.o.).
Colliding NYHC punk with a blistering Bay Area thrash assault, METHANE delivers a relentless barrage of razor-sharp riffs, thunderous drumming, and commanding vocals that demand your attention. As a fierce contender in the New Wave of Old-School Thrash Metal scene, “Demolate” promises a chaotic journey through apocalyptic themes and raw, beer-fueled madness.

Dan Lorenzo explains: “When I wrote “No More Blood” I came up with thebassline first. Soon after I “heard” the chorus in my head-lyrics/melody and everything.
I was reading a book on Patton and I envisioned D-Daylike the opening scene to “Saving Private Ryan”. I saw parts of the movie “Platoon” a few weeksearlier while channel-surfing.I can’t imagine how horrible war must be. Terrible.
