Following the success of their latest full-length release “Distortions” in August 2023, UK-based doom metal powerhouse Godthrymm has returned with a mesmerizing new offering in the form of a two-track EP titled “The Light”, now available via Profound Lore Records.

Comprised of seasoned members with past affiliations to renowned acts like My Dying Bride, Anathema, Vallenfyre, and Solstice, Godthrymm‘s latest creation serves as a potent precursor to their forthcoming album, “Projections”. Hamish Glencross, member of Godthrymm, shares his enthusiasm for this new musical chapter: “More heavy bloody beautiful metal and glorious colossal doom to be had; we are very excited to share some new Godthrymm music with you!“

In a seamless blend of heavy riffage, epic harmony, and melancholic melody, “The Light” sets the stage for the listener to immerse themselves in Godthrymm‘s rich sonic tapestry. The EP acts as a bridge between the band’s critically acclaimed “Distortions” album and the eagerly anticipated “Projections”, continuing the Visions trilogy with evolving soundscapes and emotional depth.

PRESSURE POINTS Release ‘The Chase’ Single + Music Video

Finnish progressive metal act Pressure Points will release two new singles this autumn. The first one, ‘The Chase’, saw the light of day today, accompanied by a stunning music video directed by Teppo Ristola. This release is a continuation to their critically-acclaimed third album, The Island, which was released in March 2023 through Art Gates Records.

The second single Shapeless will be released on 18 December 2024. At the same time, the group is concentrating on writing new material for their fourth album and continuing to play shows. A festival in the Czech Republic has already been booked for next summer.

Veli-Matti Kyllönen, the main composer and lyricist of the song, shares his insight:

“Chase is a bit of a departure from Pressure Points’ usual sound, and not just because it’s shorter than our usual length. It’s the first piece of music I wrote after wrapping up our last album, and the band loved it right away. Given our shared love of melodic death metal and epic melodies, that wasn’t a big surprise. I hope you enjoy it!”

Pressure Points is a melodic metal act founded in Heinola, Finland, in the summer of 2004. Its music has been described as exceptional in the field of melodic and progressive metal, blending many different styles with a strong sense of melody combined with innovative and dynamic constructions.

These metallers have shared the stages with such international acts as Katatonia, Samael, Omnium Gatherum, Insomnium and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Italy’s Mexican Standoff is delighted to announce the release of their Cheap Trick inspired song “Denver Omelette”.

“This our take on 80’s Glam Rock, less hair metal and more Cheap Trick style melodies. The chorus revolves around a stop and go that emphasizes its open melody.” says the band.

Heavy metal legends, SABATON, are excited to announce that over 650 cinemas spanning 25 territories are taking part in the global premiere of their explosive concert film, “Sabaton – The Tour To End All Tours”. Cinema tickets for this event are now on sale.

Additional venues and territories are expected to join the campaign soon, with the global premiere taking place on October 11, 2024, except for France, where it will be premiering on October 13, 2024.

Virginia thrash titans ENFORCED are back with a vengeance, announcing their latest EP A Leap Into The Dark, set for release on October 25, 2024.
