PATRIARCHS IN BLACK Release New Single + Video ‘A Few Good Men’

PATRIARCHS IN BLACK release “A Few Good Men”, the third pre-single from the upcoming studio album “Visioning” (Metalville Records – release date July 19th)

Dan Lorenzo says: “I wrote A Few Good Men with Kelly Abe. It’s the quickest song on the album. Kelly wrote the lyrics.”

Kelly Abe about the song:  “A Few Good Men” is a homage to the small group of true brothers we have in our lives, who are there for the long haul at times that matter most. It’s a commentary on fair-weather friends, acknowledging that camaraderie is easy when times are good, but over time you come to realize that only true brothers show up when it’s inconvenient:
Camaraderie is fodder on a proper day, for all the friends who spring to leave dismay” – catch the double in that. TIME DON’T LIE. “

Former Type O Negative/ Danzig drummer Johnny Kelly and guitarist riff writer Dan Lorenzo (Hades / Non-Fiction) formed Patriarchs In Black at the end of 2021. The project included well known guests on vocals and bass including Karl Agell ( COC Blind/Lie Heavy) , Jimmy Gnecco, Dewey Bragg ( Kill Devil Hill/Bill Ward) among others. Their debut single “Demon of Regret” came out January 2022 and the full album “Reach For The Scars” was released July 1st 2022. Their 2nd album “My Veneration” was October 6th 2023 with multiple guest vocalists and bassists.

For the forthcoming 3rd studio album “Visioning” Dan Lorenzo has already written twelve new songs. Beside drummer Johnny Kelly it features again a bunch of great singers and bass players, like Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog), Karl Agell (Corrosion Of Confirmity), Eric Morgan (A Pale Horse Named Death), Mark Sunshine (Unida), Jason McMaster (Watchtower), Kyle Thomas (Exhorder) and many more.

The songs on “Visioning” combine elements of classic doom metal with modern sounds as well as excursions into hardcore/crossover.

The album was mixed and mastered at JROD Productions by Jon Cioicari.

“It’s SO fun and not putting too much pressure on singers to come up with one or two amazing lyrics and melodies a year. I write a LOT of riffs/music. Our third album came together very easily. FUN FUN FUN” says Dan.

SOULBOUND Release New Single And Video ‘Burn’

Posted by metalshockfinland on July 7, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SOULBOUND. Leave a comment

SOULBOUND have released “Burn”, the last pre-release single from the upcoming studio album “obsYdian” (Metalville Records – street date July 26th).

Soulbound unleashes with their fourth single “Burn” from the upcoming album “obsYdian,” a powerful declaration of war that redefines the boundaries between Industrial Metal and Dark Rock. “Burn” is a victory cry and a farewell to toxic adversaries. This energetic manifesto is for anyone who’s been underestimated or opposed – a call to believe in oneself and to steadfastly follow one’s path. Believe in yourself!

Welcome to “obsYdian”!

With dark elegance, full of reflection and with a certain harshness, this new album represents musically content and symbolically represents Soulbound’s journey through the last years – a journey through a spectrum of intense themes. These range from the intense confrontation with the musicians own inner demons demons to socially critical observations that continue to confront them with clear clarity about the serious consequences associated with this consequences, through to deep, introspective reflections on various personal personal themes, such as the subject of parting.

‘obsYdian’ for Soulbound stands for the cathartic experiences they have had as a band, but also individually. Come along and accompany them on their musical journey. The musicians have realized that in the that confronting their own inner conflicts not only provides challenges, but can be found, but also comfort and understanding. The songs on “obsYdian” serve Soulbound like a multifaceted mirror, which, in the process of confrontation, shows us both the band’s dark sides as well as the possibilities for healing and protection – in the spirit of the protective properties that are attributed to the dark properties that the dark stone obsidian is said to have.

Soulbound see in the symbolism obsidian a perfect metaphor for their work as musicians: Dark, mysterious, reflective, protective, transformative, clear and honest, deep and strong. “obsYdian” is not just an album for them; it is an expression of their development, their way of seeing.

ERADICATOR Release New Single + Video ‘The Paradox’

Posted by metalshockfinland on July 7, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ERADICATOR. Leave a comment

ERADICATOR have released the new single “The Paradox”. The song is the title track of the forthcoming new studio album to be released on 20.09.2024 on Metalville Records.

Lyrically, the first single from the sixth album by thrash metal band ERADICATOR describes the processes of industrial animal fattening and slaughter. The mechanically monotonous and deadly efficiency of a slaughterhouse inspired Henry Ford to produce his cars on assembly lines. The paradox here is that the godfather of the “assembly line” is animal slaughter. Although the processes of meat production are sufficiently documented, consumers can still ignore the largely cruel facts through selective perception. The text has no claim to moral authority, but rather a descriptive character. Everyone can and may draw their own conclusions from what is being sung about.

Musically, the song has a lot to offer. The opening drum solo begins with around 200 beats per minute, followed by fast, precise guitar riffs.A driving groove sets in with the verse, which encourages headbanging and is carried by the cutting shouting. The tempo picks up again in the chorus and the rudimentary melody quickly becomes catchy.Seba Stöber’s deep growls at the end of the chorus form the first peaks in the song. However, when you expect things to pick up after chorus two, ERADICATOR go one better. Death metal-inspired growls, supported by discordant chord progressions and driven by relentless double bass attacks take the paradox to its absolute peak and form the acoustic image of the described cruelty. Only then is the listener allowed to relax. The middle section reveals calm tones, introduced by an almost clean bass run, and leads into a creamy, singing guitar solo. The subsequent build-up leads back to the chorus and a final ecstasy in the repetitive death-metal-inspired C section.

The single cover was penned by Bianca Rother and shows a grizzly skull with antelope antlers in front of an industrial skyline on a mountain of bones. The single, as well as the entire album, was mixed/mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm) and produced together with Seba Stöber.

“The Paradox” is undoubtedly the most versatile album by thrashers ERADICATOR. It will be released in the year of the band’s 20th anniversary. The ten new songs deal lyrically with the contradictory nature of being human and present many musical facets, not only of thrash metal.

“The Paradox” bears the signature of ERADICATOR and shows their unbroken joy of playing. The band has now also made a name for itself live. However, the four guys from the Sauerland region in Western Germany are not afraid to refine and develop their new compositions stylistically.

The lyrical themes on “The Paradox” reflect the dichotomy and ambivalence of human action and thought.

Like its predecessor, the album was mixed and mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm), who once again managed to give ERADICATOR an authentic sound. After 20 years, the four musicians know what they want to sound like and that’s exactly what “The Paradox” sounds like.

BLUTGOTT Release Single + Video ‘Drachenlegion (Balgeroth Version)’

BLUTGOTT have released “Drachenlegion (Balgeroth Version)”, the first single from the upcoming 3CD Album “Dracul Drakorgoth”, set to be released on September 20th via Massacre Records / VÖ.

In the encompassing conflict that is called the War of Balgeroth, the entire Trinity of Blood Gods is on Earth for a short while, Balgeroth, Setekh Drakorgaur and Dracul Drakorgoth. Balgeroth comes to Earth with part of his dragon legion fleets and attacks the entire planet-spanning Imperium of Mankind. His Blood Gods exterminate the human population and cover the land with an all-out war.  The songs from recent albums such as Beasts of Balgeroth and Bloodking played against this backdrop. “Drachenlegion” focusses on the demon machines of the Balgeroth Legion. Draconic metal monsters from hell.

The official video for “Drachenlegion” can be watched here:

THE BLUTGOTT METAL UNIVERSE:
DEBAUCHERY– Monster Metal
BLOOD GOD – Hard Rock & Heavy Metal
BALGEROTH – German Metal

In 20 years, singer and guitarist Thomas Gurrath has created an entire band universe with over 30 CDs spread across more than 17 albums from Debauchery, Blood God and Balgeroth. He has united this Trinity of Blood Gods under the name BLUTGOTT.

Musically, the band moves across genres somewhere between Judas Priest, Slayer, AC/DC, Rammstein and Bolt Thrower. There is pounding death metal, classic heavy metal and groovy hardrock, sometimes with screeching vocals, sometimes with the distinctive monster voice, sometimes clean, and everything in between.

The lyrics – in German and English – deal with the band’s own dark fantasy universe: the World of Blood Gods. Named after the Blood Gods – biomechanical vampire dragons with demonic abilities.

The three most infamous are Bal-Geroth, the Bloodking of Knochenheim, Dracul Drakorgoth, the Debauchery Blood God and Setekh Drakorgaur, the Red Dragon. Together they form the Trinity of Blood Gods.

In the war zones of the past and future, on Earth, Eden, other planets and Hell, they fight brutal battles against elves, humans and dwarves, as well as other demons. The World of Blood Gods has its own miniatures and its own tabletop game, called Kings of Carnage.

Concerts of the various incarnations of the BLUTGOTT Metal Universe have been held throughout Europe, Russia and Asia. They have performed with Doro, Saxon, Dismember, Napalm Death, Destruction and many other well-known bands from the metal scene and played at major festivals such as Wacken, Summer Breeze and Bang Your Head. The albums are regularly in the top50 of the official German album charts.

The new album “Dracul Drakorgoth” will be released on September 20th and contains ten completely new songs each with the Debauchery Monster Voice, once with the German Balgeroth lyrics and also with the Blood God Heavy Metal voice. Available as 3CD Digi Pack, as limited edition box and the Debauchery and Balgeroth versions each as limited edition LP. Recorded by Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Krokus, Helloween).
