Following up 2020’s highly acclaimed “Melinoë,” US Black Metal band AKHLYS present their latest work of abyssal Black Metal terror. “House of the Black Geminus” features six intricate compositions, further refining and evolving the inimitable nightmarish sound that mastermind Naas Alcameth (AORATOS, NIGHTBRINGER) is renowned for.

AKHLYS was formed 2009 by Naas Alcameth (NIGHTBRINGER, AORATOS, BESTIA ARCANA) as a musical expression for the inexplicable visions, journeys and phenomena that occur in liminal lands between slumber and awakening. Initially exploring these concepts via Dark Ambient in debut “Supplication” (2009) and then haunting Black Metal through lauded follow-up “The Dreaming I” (2015), Alcameth has once again reified and rarefied this vision, giving rise to a third and crowning work, “Melinoë“, which was released in December 2020.

Earning widespread acclaim for their live performances, AKHLYS secured a partnership with Parasite Gallows Booking in 2022. Amidst numerous tours and festival appearances in Europe, Israel, Latin America and the United States, the recent years have also witnessed the crafting of new compositions destined for the band’s fourth album. Titled “House of the Black Geminus,” this much-anticipated release is released July 5th, 2024.

Riotous Indignation is pleased to announce the release of their new single “Wheel of Misfortune,” that is available on all digital service providers today, July 5th, 2024. The single is the #3 most added track on metal radio shows this week as reported by the Metal Contraband Charts and premiered on Decibel Magazine’s website on July 3rd.

What makes “Wheel of Misfortune” unique is that the intro section of the song is old-timey country arrangement that builds up to a full-bore thrash metal onslaught that abruptly smacks you in the face and then follows with some moshable breakdowns as well.

While the writer and front man Mike Repel admits that he is unaware of a song composition like this ever being done before, he states that when combined with the subject matter of the lyrics, the cross-genre build-up of the song arrangement gives you the unexpected punch in the face that you want and deserve.

Founded by Bob Clayton and Mike Repel in 2015, the band released their debut, The Violentus Musicae EP, in early 2016. The EP was recorded and produced by Repel, and was mixed at Dexter Labs Studio in Milford CT. by Nick Bellmore and was Mastered by Chris “Zeuss” Harris.

Since the release of The Violentus Musicae EP in May of 2016, they have obtained positive press coverage and have confirmed airplay on over 50 internet radio stations, some terrestrial radio, and podcasts. This also includes a twenty-two week charting run for their song “Secret Societies” on Radio Naklo’s Czadlista & Czadlista Post Scriptum Radio Show in Poland.

In January of 2017 they released their music video for “The End” and also became a semi-finalist in the 2017 Hollywood Film festival for their work in creating the video.

In 2017 the band has increased visibility with ongoing promotions in mainland China. Their music was included in a music festival playlist, and was the focus of a syndicated column about heavy music on QQ Music.

Their music has been featured on several recently released compilations, including: The Making a Scene 2017 compilation by Whatever68 Radio and PP Promo Records, El Bunker Del Metal’s The Force of Annihilation compilation out of Argentina, and also The Metal Music GlobAlliance Compilation out of Slovakia.

They have also been featured on the 2018 Imperative Music Global Metal Compilation Vol. 15 with Destruction, Hammerfall, Cradle of Filth, Death, and many other bands. This compilation, based out of Brazil, is a DVD/with Audio and Video contributions from each band. It was distributed internationally through Imperatives label and media partners in several countries.

Previously unreleased music has been coming out in the form of singles, all which have been receiving terrestrial and internet radio play. This includes “Lords of War” (Nov. 2021), which debuted at #24 on the NACC Charts.

Floodfall, formed in Bozeman, Montana, initially included David Hearst, Jake Schreuder, and drummer Hunter Hessian. They recorded their debut album in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Jakob Herrmann. After some changes, David, now in Portland, Oregon, teamed up with Zane Hearst on drums to record their second album, “Unbroken”, in both Portland and Gothenburg. BLITZKRIEG to Release New Self-Titled Album on September 6th, Unleash First Single ‘The Spider’

Unrepentantly flying the flag for Classic British Metal since the release of their 1981 “Blitzkrieg/Buried Alive” demo, BLITZKRIEG were a pivotal influence on countless heavy metal bands for decades to come: most notably, Metallica, who released a cover of the band’s eponymous track “Blitzkrieg” both on the “Garage Inc” compilation album, and as a B-side on their 1984 single “Creeping Death”.

Formed in Leicester in late 1980 by lead vocalist Brian Ross (who remains at the helm of the band to this day), the band would take a four-year hiatus when Ross left to join NWOBHM legends Satan, recording their classic album “Court In The Act” (Roadrunner) and touring extensively, before reuniting with bassist Mick Moore to form Avenger.

1985 saw the release of Blitzkrieg’s long-awaited debut album “A Time Of Changes” on legendary British label Neat Records, which remains a cult classic to this day. Further success would follow with 1991’s “Ten Years Of Blitzkrieg” (Roadrunner) and a three-album deal in 1995 with Neat Records.

The band continued to champion Classic Metal throughout the turbulent 2000s, with albums like 2002’s “Absolute Power” (Hellion) and 2007’s “Theatre Of The Damned” (Armageddon), the latter of which was co-produced by Saxon frontman Biff Byford after Blitzkrieg opened for Saxon on their UK tour the year prior. All the while, the band remained a mainstay on the international festival circuit, with appearances at Wacken, Headbangers Open Air, Keep It True, Hard Rock Hell and countless others, along with regular tours in four continents.

Returning from a hiatus in the wake of their critically acclaimed releases “Back From Hell” and “Judge Not”, Blitzkrieg are as vital, powerful and ferocious as the day they were founded over 40 years ago. Long time members Alan Ross (son of Brian Ross) and powerhouse drummer Matt Graham are joined by bassist Liam Ferguson and virtuoso guitarist and producer Nick Jennison. Their new album “Blitzkrieg” is set for release in summer 2024 via Mighty Music, and if early previews are to be believed, is their best work since 1985.

“Blitzkrieg” will be released on CD, LP (black, green and red vinyl versions available, each limited to 200 copies) and digital on September 6th, 2024 via Mighty Music. Pre-orders are available here.
