JEGONG Reveal New Single + Video ‘What Ever Happened To Gene’

JeGong, the collaborative force of Dahm Majuri Cipolla (MONO) and Reto Mäder (SUM OF R.), have dropped the third single from their upcoming bold and genre-sculpting new album Gomi Kuzu Can (due 27th February via Pelagic Records).

Pre-order the album here: https://orcd.co/jegong-gomikuzucan

The band comment: “With ‘What Ever Happened To Gene’, we wanted to show that our music isn’t only driven by propulsive rhythms, but also leaves room for emotional spaciousness. The glowing harmonies and gently ascending melodies tap into a sense of nostalgia without becoming sentimental – that balance was important to us.”

In ‘What Ever Happened To Gene’, JeGong use their third single to lean into a sense of narrative mystery in this vocal-led track. A tale told through wistful melodic motifs that seem to search for something just out of reach.

Known for their immersive, rhythm-driven explorations of krautrock and experimental sound design, JeGong now take an exhilarating leap into brighter, nostalgically stranger territory.

Gomi Kuzu Can is an electrifying journey through kraut, post- and experimental rock, delivered with the analogue warmth of the ’70s.

Across eleven meticulously crafted tracks, JeGong embrace their roots while fearlessly expanding into neon-lit, beat-driven worlds where kinetic rhythms meet playful sonic futurism. It is music built for movement, contemplation, and the ecstatic strangeness of possibility. Their approach borrows the endurance and patience of minimalism, but they subvert minimalism’s austerity with grit, distortion, and physicality. The result is music that feels alive in motion: constantly shifting, tightening, unfurling, and mutating even when its core pulse remains unbroken.

At the centre is the duo’s uncanny rhythmic intuition: drums that pulse with krautrock steadiness, bass lines that swing between monolithic foundation and crude melodic insistence. Together, these elements create a sonic environment that feels both mechanical and deeply human, ritualistic yet instinctual.

One of the album’s most striking achievements is its analogue warmth. In an era dominated by pristine digital surfaces, JeGong embrace imperfection: human element in every beat and modulation. Gomi Kuzu Can, is hand-built, lovingly assembled from circuitry, intuition, and raw creative impulse. This tactile quality is precisely what makes the album’s danceability so impactful. In blending organic rhythm with retro-electronic brightness, they’ve created a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

Tracklisting:

  1. Golden Hairs Goes Back To Japan
  2. Outright Wolf Medicines

Bassist JEFF PILSON Says: “Foreigner is not anywhere near the end of the road”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 7, 2026

Jimmy Kay from The Metal Voice recently spoke to Foreigner/ Ex Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson about the band’s upcoming Orchestra tour while taking a break at the 2026 Metal Hall of Fame rehearsals.

Watch the video below.

When asked about Foreigners upcoming tour

“Foreigner is doing  quite  a year of touring. We’re starting an orchestral run with the orchestra on March 6, 2026, we’re starting a residency in Vegas of five shows. And then we’re doing more orchestral shows, including the San Diego Symphony on March 20th. And it’s a really cool show cuz it still rocks, but it’s with an orchestra. It’s very cool, very dark and interesting. Um, then we’re just more touring. We’re doing a huge festival in Mexico in early May. We’re going to be in Europe for over a month in June doing festivals there. Uh, that’s going to be great. Uh then we tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd starting in July and that goes till I think September and then we’re going to tour all the way till the beginning of November. So busy year of touring,”

When asked if  this the end of the road for Foreigner

“Actually not because you know we have a new singer and Luis Maldonado and his force of nature is incredible and wait till you hear him sing and perform. The guy is astonishing and uh he’s actually breathed a lot of new life into the band. So we have we have much more coming and no it’s not anywhere near the end of the road. We thought it was going to be at one point but not anymore. We’re rocking.”

When asked if he would ever consider doing a DOKKEN orchestration Tour?

“Sure. I’d love to actually enjoy doing that. I mean, after working with orchestras like I’ve been doing, um, I would feel very, uh, capable of coming up with something very cool. So, sure, I’d consider that. I mean, I don’t think the opportunity will ever arise, but if it did, sure, I’d love it. “

LORD OF THE LOST & SALTATIO MORTIS Release New Single Video ‘I’m A Diamond’

LORD OF THE LOST extend their latest journey with yet another innovative collaboration, coming in the shining form of “I’m A Diamond”. For the latest single leading up to OPVS NOIR Vol. 3, which releases on April 10, 2026 via Napalm Records, the genre-defying band teams up with German medieval metal torchbearers SALTATIO MORTIS. Featuring singer Alea, LORD OF THE LOST present a catchy song reminding us of our own worth and encouraging everyone to live true to themselves. Although the finale of OPVS NOIR is the most out of the box of the trilogy, the Hamburg-based band sticks to their core values: “Don’t change yourself to fit the system.”

LORD OF THE LOST are currently on tour in North America with The Birthday Massacre and Wednesday 13. After that, they’re headed to Australia and finally back to Europe for more headline shows. Find the list of dates below!

Chris Harms about “I’m A Diamond”:
“A song together with Saltatio Mortis was long overdue. Our bands have been connected for ages, and Alea and I share a deep friendship. That makes it even more special to be singing such a personal and important song together.”

Alea (Saltatio Mortis) adds:
“What does our song ‘I’m a Diamond’ mean to me? It’s about how we’re all valuable in our purest form. It’s not about what others see in you or how the world wants you to be—it’s about who you are. What you are. A unique diamond.”

LORD OF THE LOST bring their ambitious album trilogy to a brilliant finale with OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. A direct continuation of OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, which were both unveiled in 2025, it releases on April 10, 2026 and gloriously expands on the genre-defying band’s opus. The most out of the box of the three, the third and final part of their latest journey has the six-piece end this chapter of their career on a fulminant high note, intertwining heavy guitars and dark electronica with compassionate messages and cinematic orchestrals.

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 continues to walk LORD OF THE LOST’s unpredictable journey without settling for the familiar. Rounding off an impressive trilogy, this record takes you by the hand and guides you along your darkest paths.

Following the captivating BLOOD & GLITTER, which brought them to the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and a #1 chart entry in their native Germany to go along with it, LORD OF THE LOST once again demonstrate their unmatched diversity. Initiated by beautiful cello melodies, “Kill The Lights” is an overture like no other, setting a dark mood, but also unafraid to switch it up to make room for catchy and reassuring “I’m A Diamond”. “My Funeral”, despite the name, picks up the positive message, expanding the near-gothic soundscapes while sprinkling in tongue-in-cheek lyrics, promoting black as a happy color – wear pink to their funeral! Stomping “I Hate People” invites horror punk icon WEDNESDAY 13 to an industrial duet about equality, after which gentle “The Shadows Within” hits twice as hard with its symphonic arrangement. Next, Chris Harms and parting KISSIN’ DYNAMITE frontman Hannes Braun deliver the bombastic “La Vie Est Hell” (based on Charles Baudelaire’s influential book of poetry, “Les Fleurs du mal”) partly in French language, before going back to “Square One”. “When Did The Love Break?” is a heartfelt song of lost love – the addition of whimsical vocals by Ambre Vourvahis of XANDRIA drives the emotions of this universal topic right home. After “Your Love Is Colder Than Death”, LORD OF THE LOST team up with Damien Edwards of British glam rock band CATS IN SPACE for the captivating duet “Take Me Far Away”, before the album closes with a ballad, “The Days Of Our Lives” – the sweeping track simultaneously being the closest LORD OF THE LOST have ever been to a cinematic soundtrack. The happy ending is skipped, almost making it sound like a goodbye…

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3: the trilogy is finally concluded.

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 tracklisting:

  1. Kill The Lights
  2. I’m A Diamond (feat. Saltatio Mortis)
  3. My Funeral

To celebrate Samantha Fish’s 2026 UK tour, the American guitarist and vocalist has released her new single “Rusty Razor” featuring Mick Collins.

Rusty Razor is the latest single taken from Samantha’s album Paper Doll. Stream the song on Spotify or YouTube.

The single is released three weeks before Samantha’s “Paper Doll” UK Tour kicks off at the York Barbican on February 27th. Tickets for all her UK concerts are available from Altickets.com andSamanthaFish.com, except Edinburgh Queen’s Hall where tickets are available HERE.

Samantha is also pleased to announce that her special guest at all UK concerts is The Zac Schulze Gang.

The UK tour follows Samantha’s latest critically acclaimed studio album Paper Doll, that was Grammy nominated for “Best Contemporary Blues Album.”

Samantha will perform songs from her new album Paper Doll, plus tracks from her classic albums including Wild Heart, Chills & Fever, Belle of the West, Death Wish Blues, Faster, and Kill or Be Kind.

Samantha was also nominated for a 2024 Grammy for “Contemporary Blues Album of the Year” for her collaboration with Jesse Dayton on Death Wish Blues. Total Guitar voted Samantha as one of the “Top 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists” of all-time. In 2024, she joined Slash on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. US tour.

The charismatic singer-guitarist-songwriter has earned a reputation as a guitar hero and a powerful live performer, while releasing a series of acclaimed albums that have shown her restless creative spirit consistently pushing her in new, exciting, and often unexpected musical directions.

The New York Times called Fish, “An impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power,” and “One of the genre’s most promising young talents.” Her hometown paper, the Kansas City Star wrote: “Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal blues club and displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers.”

Samantha believes her musical future is an open road. “I’m never going be a traditional blues artist, because that’s not who I am,” she says. “But it’s all the Blues for me. When Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf came out, what they were doing didn’t sound like anything that had been done in Blues before.

AS WE STRAY Release New Single ‘Medicine’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 7, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: AS WE STRAY. Leave a comment

AS WE STRAY return with “MEDICINE”, a single that marks the rawest, most vulnerable and radical moment of their career.

This is not just a new song: it’s a life choice, a clean breaking point, the sound of a band that decides to stop lying—both to themselves and to those who listen.

Stream the single here: https://www.aswestray.com/music

A SOUND THAT CHANGES, A NEW LANGUAGE

With “MEDICINE”, AS WE STRAY push their sound beyond the boundaries of traditional extreme metal, blending:

  • aggressive, modern metal
  • cold, urban atmospheres
  • rap and alternative influences

The result is a tense, disturbing and hypnotic track, capable of shifting between sonic violence and disarming moments of intimacy, while always preserving a strong and unmistakable identity.

“MEDICINE”: WRITING IN ORDER NOT TO DISAPPEAR

The single was born during an extremely dark period.
A time of emotional and artistic paralysis, marked by negative thoughts, wrong choices and the feeling of being trapped in an endless loop with no way out.

“MEDICINE” is exactly this: writing as an act of survival, the only alternative to silence and self-destruction.

The verses—direct and unfiltered—carry the weight of that moment, while the chorus opens a small window of awareness:
the realization of not being complete yet, of carrying another version of oneself inside—hidden, hard to reach, perhaps impossible to fully understand alone.

THE DEATH OF WHO WE USED TO BE

From an artistic standpoint, “MEDICINE” represents a definitive fracture. It is the song that marks the end of one phase and the beginning of a new maturity.

Not an experiment for its own sake, but an expressive necessity: the need to adopt a different language—more direct, more instinctive, more truthful—to tell a discomfort that no longer fit within previous forms.

“MEDICINE” is:

  • a transition
  • a statement
  • the death of what the band used to be

A BAND THAT HITS HARD LIVE AS WELL

A journey that confirms a hungry, credible band, ready to push beyond national borders.

“MEDICINE” IS AN OPEN WOUND

  • It doesn’t comfort.
  • It doesn’t soften the blow.
  • It doesn’t offer easy answers.

“MEDICINE” is an open wound turned into sound.
It’s the moment AS WE STRAY stop protecting themselves and choose full exposure.

Listening to it isn’t comfortable. But it’s necessary.

Follow AS WE STRAY on all social platforms, YouTube and streaming services.
This time, the hit goes straight to the heart.
