WORSHIPPER Drop Lyric Video ‘Windowpane’ from Forthcoming Album

WORSHIPPER drop a lyric video of the heavy grooving and radio compatible track ‘Windowpane’ as the final advance single taken from the Boston psychedelic hard rockers‘ forthcoming third album “One Way Trip” which is chalked up for release on July 19, 2024 via Magnetic Eye Records. Pre-order your copy at: http://lnk.spkr.media/worshipper-onewaytrip

“The track ‘Windowpane’ is our imaginary Heaven and Hell deep cut, with a little nod to Cheap Trick’s ‘Heaven Tonight’,” guitarist and singer John Brookhouse explains. “The song is an ode to everyone who feels like an outsider and that the world is passing them by while they watch. I know that I’ve felt this way a lot, especially during the pandemic, which was when this one came about. Of course, I had to throw a little psychedelic reference in there, too. It is also one of our more ‘groove’ driven songs, which is something we explored a lot on this record and never really focused on much in the past.“

With their third full-length, “One Way Trip”, Boston, MA psychedelic hard rockers WORSHIPPER have perfected their grand balancing act between classic hard rock and old school heavy metal that is empowered to soar high with the injection of a healthy dose of psychedelia. Rock and metal are all about the hooks and riffs, and the American quartet serves out those catchy delicacies in more than generous helpings.

Although the album title “One Way Trip” and some of the record’s songs could be interpreted as relating to drug culture, things aren’t so literal here, as WORSHIPPER take a more kaleidoscopic view of the human condition through a psychedelic lens. During the making of the album, three band members suffered personal loss. The opening track, ‘Heroic Dose’ for example revolves around the choice of a father who had realised in a ‘psychedelic epiphany’ that he faced a choice between either enlisting or being drafted and sent to the front lines of the Vietnam war. This is also reflected in the order of the tracks being influenced by the psychological horror thriller “Jacob’s Ladder” in which a Vietnam veteran is plagued by flashbacks and monstrous visions, and which added a loose circular concept to the entire album.

That a band from Boston takes inspiration from the dark side of art is probably no coincidence as New England is home to such grandmasters of horror as H. P. Lovecraft and Stephen King. Coincidentally, the rebellious city that sparked the American War of Independence and the region are also sizzling hotspots of the East Coast rock scene.

When WORSHIPPER were founded in 2014, it was clear to singer and guitarist John Brookhouse, drummer Dave Jarvis, bass player and backing vocalist Bob Maloney, and guitarist Alejandro Necochea that their new band had to stand out given the high concentration of like-minded and talented local peers. With the mission statement of bringing something exciting and fresh to the table, the still intact original line-up has cranked out impeccable heady and heavy stuff with an emphatic focus on real songs with hooky melodies, creepy vocal harmonies, and twin guitar heroics from the moment of inception.

WORSHIPPER‘s gift for catchy epic songwriting did not go unnoticed, and soon a record deal established the band globally with the albums “Shadow Hymns” (2016) and “Light in the Wire” (2019) receiving worldwide praise. Their quick success also opened doors for heading out on the road, and WORSHIPPER gladly accepted offers to tour with WEEDEATER in the US and THE SKULL in Europe as well as sharing stages with kindred spirits and heroes such as ELDER, LUCIFER, ACE FREHLEY, and MONSTER MAGNET among many others.

With “One Way Trip”, WORSHIPPER not only fulfil the high expectations their third full-length was saddled with, but the Americans are obviously enjoying doing exactly what they’re best at: writing damn great songs for an album that has only killers and no fillers!

Drum tracking for Exul, the fourth long-player from Australian extreme progressive metallers Ne Obliviscaris, started in March 2020. There is an ominous tone to that date: March 2020. The pandemic demarcation line. That month, Daniel Presland laid down his drums in Nashville, Tennessee, with American producer Mark Lewis. As flight cancellations increased and borders shuttered, Presland made it home literally hours before Australia closed theirs. Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni weren’t as lucky. They were due to land in Australia in the days that followed to continue tracking, but were forced to remain overeseas indefinitely. With recording studios shuttered throughout Melbourne, a slow, tedious, life-altering two-year grind to complete Exul ensued for Ne Obliviscaris.

Seven additional studios and three more countries later, Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022.

The album personifies Ne Obliviscaris’s distinctive, boundary-pushing ethos. The band’s trademark blend of emotion and beauty is as towering as ever, if not even more compelling, particularly how Charles’s violin lines carefully weave their way around Baret and fellow guitarist Matt Klavins’ riffing. The duality of Charles’s clean vocals and Xenoyr’s growls remains the narrative anchor, elevating songs that emanate sophistication and are a masterclass in composition.

Touring will factor heavily into Ne Obliviscaris’s 2023 plans. The band will embark on headlining tours worldwide that will hit new territories. As luck would have it, the return to live show activity will coincide with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

Lineup:
Xenoyr – Harsh Vocals
Tim Charles – Violin & Clean Vocals
Benjamin Baret – Lead Guitar
Matt Klavins – Guitar
Martino Garattoni – Bass

HIGHSOCIETY unites with EDM artist BVLVNCE to unleash a brutal cyber metalcore crossover single “Echoes.” From bone-crushing breakdowns to bass-heavy drops, HIGHSOCIETY & BVLVNCE push rocktronic music to its absolute limit.” The track banger delivers a relentless onslaught of sonic mayhem, punctuated by anthemic hooks and glitchy vocal layers.

Purchase/Stream: https://link.fixtmusic.com/echoes

Featuring a powerful ensemble of synthesizers, drums, guitar, and bass, “Echoes” immerses listeners in a whirlwind of electrifying soundscapes. The single is a testament to the innovative spirit of both artists, blending the aggressive intensity of metalcore with the pulsating rhythms of dubstep and the dynamic edge of alternative metal. With a raw vocal performance from BVLVNCE that oscillates between brutal to ethereal this track crashes over listeners like waves in a hurricane, creating an unforgettable auditory deluge. The track’s fierce and energetic mood is perfectly captured through its relentless pace and fiery instrumentation, showcasing the unique talents of HIGHSOCIETY and BVLVNCE. It’s a perfect match made in a chaotic maelstrom, and we’re here to ride it out.

“As early champions of the “rocktronic” movement, BVLVNCE and I found common ground years ago through our mutual fascination with merging metalcore and bass music,” explains  HIGHSOCIETY. “Following numerous discussions about joining forces on a project, fate intervened, paving the way for ‘Echoes.’ This track serves as a testament to our musical kinship, capturing our shared passion for crafting aggressive, uncompromising compositions that seamlessly fuse the raw intensity of metal with the sophisticated production of electronic bass music.”

“HIGHSOCIETY and I have been talking about making a track together for about 4 years now. We share a similar background as metalcore band guys that moved into the EDM space with their solo projects,”BVLVNCE adds. “I feel like him and I share the same brain when it comes to music production. I was so happy to finally collaborate with him on something, and really excited that it’s releasing via FiXT.

The track itself is about attachment styles within relationships. The song is written from the perspective of a person with an avoidant attachment style, while they are with someone who has an anxious attachment style. It highlights the tough dynamic these two attachment styles can have when they are in a romantic relationship together. I don’t have all the answers, but my hope is that the lyrics could shed light on other peoples struggles within their relationships or within themselves.”

The ascending bass music talent that is known as HIGHSOCIETY has been on a rapid rise as of late, thanks to his addictive blend of stadium-crushing future bass, metallurgic dubstep, and blazing trap. With a seemingly endless torrent of releases across standout labels from FiXT, Barong Family, and Universal Music, to Red Bull Records and Lowly Palace/Trap Nation, HIGHSOCIETY has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting new acts in electronic music.

In the past HIGHSOCIETY worked with respected labels such as Dim Mak, Red Bull Records,  Island Records, Lowly Palace, Welcome Records, Barong Family,  Universal, and now FiXT. He’s also worked with many high-profile artists including AWOLNATION, Attack Attack!, Celldweller, Teddy Killerz, The Anix, Big Shaq, Reid Speed, Palisades, Jade, and Le Castle Vania as well as earned sync placements with HBO, MTV, MTV2, ABC Family, Freeform, and Oxygen. He’s performed live with Knife Party, Kill The Noise, Slushii, Modestep, GTA, and Elohim at many live festivals including but not limited to Live 105 BFD Festival, Bottlerock Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, and many headline shows across the US.

BVLVNCE (pronounced balance), is a vocalist and producer who is crossing genres by making EDM with an emo and metalcore influence. With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, two EP’s, and a concept album under his belt; BVLVNCE brings an energetic and emotional sound that is uniquely his.

BVLVNCE spent many years as a vocalist in metalcore bands, sharing the stage with acts such as We Came As Romans, Our Last Night, The Color Morale and more. Now, he focuses on creating a cutting edge blend of electronic metal.

Listeners connect to BVLVNCE on a personal level, as his lyrics touch on topics such as depression, trauma, abuse, mental illness, and more. He has personally struggled with many mental and physical issues, and aims to remove the stigma around self disclosing these troubles.

He has established himself in the scene, by releasing on some of the most well respected EDM labels, and garnered support from some of the genres’s largest acts.

SYMPHONY OF SWEDEN Premier Show Sold Out in Record Time

Posted by metalshockfinland on June 26, 2024

Symphony of Sweden is thrilled to announce the complete sell-out of their highly anticipated Premier Show in just two months. The band’s hometown performance has garnered an overwhelming response, filling the venue to capacity.

Evan and Lee shared their thoughts about the upcoming show: the band is gearing up to deliver an unforgettable experience, with intense rehearsals and meticulous planning to ensure a spectacular performance. Fans can look forward to a dynamic show, complete with a few special surprises.

Contributing musicians for the upcoming Premier Show:

🎸 Erik Arkö – Master of 4-String 🎓
Erik hails from Stockholm, Sweden, and brings a wealth of experience and talent to our lineup.

 Henrik Bodin-Sköld – Guitar Virtuoso & Arrangement Maestro 🎨
Henrik’s fretwork prowess defines the soul-stirring sound of Symphony Of Sweden’s “Haunted” album, making each track an odyssey into hard rock mastery.

🥁 Niklas “Bullen” Bengtsson – Rhythmic Dynamo 🔥
Fueling the band’s heartbeat on drums, Niklas “Bullen” Bengtsson brings relentless energy and precision.

-Congratulations on selling out your Premier Show! How did you react when you found out all the tickets were gone in just two weeks?

Lee: It felt so amazing to see that so many people love our music and want to come and see us! A lot of people have also reached out trying to get some tickets but we can’t do anything if it’s sold out.

Evan: As we do this show in our home town which is rather small we really didn’t know how many fans we could expect for the event. How many will come from outside the town and how many from the town and so on? However, we are delighted to sell out the venue so fast of course and maybe we should have picked a bigger venue, but the theater is such a cool place so it was our first and last choice anyway!

-What do you feel as you prepare for your very first Premier Show?

Evan: It is very exciting to prepare for the show both in terms of performing live and also to plan for the show in technical terms of how to deal with all challenges to have our music come out as great sounding as possible.

Lee: Focus, focus, focus. Hard work. Vocal training every day, gym, running, eating healthy, no alcohol…etc. You live like a professional athlete.

-Can you give us a sneak peek into what fans can expect at the Premier Show? Any special surprises planned?

Lee: Rock! And one hell of a show!

Evan: We will have some tracks slightly extended and surprises are if so surprises right. (laughs)

-How did you approach planning the setlist for this significant event? Are there any songs you’re particularly excited to perform live?

Lee: Evan made a list that he showed me and asked what I thought. And it was pretty Spotify on. I had to fight for two songs to be a part of the show but I won’t tell you which ones. I’m looking forward to the really rocky ones! To blast off at the crowd “Even If Solo”, “Down and Counting”…etc.

Evan: As we have statistics from Spotify, we can easily see which songs people like the most, and mainly, there are no surprises about how we feel about those songs, so it was pretty straightforward to choose the songs for the show.

-What was the biggest challenge you faced while preparing for the Premier Show?

Evan: So far it is a pretty smooth ride. From a technical point of view, it turned out that our new bassist Erik is also a technical wizard, so he will be the master of the setups for the bass and guitar and I will focus on the rest. We will indeed use some modern tricks to beef up the live sound. And of course, learning how to play the songs live could be a challenge and what to play. Some parts are made up of layers of guitars for example, but instead of using too many backing tracks we have chosen which part is the most important and Henrik will play that part and so on.

Lee: Oh, for me, it’s about keeping the voice in the best shape it can be. But I mean, I’m only human, I can have a bad day also. So well, see what happens. I can only work as hard as I can and enjoy the moment.

-Have you incorporated any unique elements or visuals into the performance to make this show stand out?

Evan: We have not come that far in planning the visuals. But there is a small venue and initially I guess the audience will be quite impressed seeing Lee jumping around at the stage!

-How are you preparing to deliver an unforgettable experience for your fans at the Premier Show?

Lee: I have to say again: keeping my voice in perfect shape, so all can enjoy the song that they have been listening to for a couple of years, but now live!

-With the show being sold out so quickly, how are you dealing with the high expectations from your fans?

Lee: Haha, it’s a lot of pressure. I want to give you all the absolute best! Work every day. Live like a munk. All focus on that night. And for SHOWTIME!

-What are you most looking forward to on the night of the Premier Show?

Lee: To finally get to play the songs live. To meet the fans. To show that this is what we live for and want to do always.

-How do you plan to interact with the audience during the Premier Show to make them feel part of this milestone event?

Evan: Lee will have as much time as he wants to talk to the audience between songs and we have some ideas to have the band meet the audience after the show in a meet-and-greet kind of way.

-For those who couldn’t get tickets, will there be any way for them to experience the Premier Show, such as through live streaming or recorded footage?

Evan: We will not have a live stream this time. But we will indeed have a few video cameras to film the show.

-How does this Premier Show compare to previous performances you’ve done, and what makes it unique?

Evan: This is actually the first live performance we do together in this constellation with a full band as Symphony Of Sweden.
I think Lee and myself is actually the least experienced of us five performing live. The other guys have been playing live a lot over the years. Lee and I have focused the last 3-4 years on producing songs in the studio only. We have done just a few gigs with ”unplugged versions”, only me and Lee. So this will be very exciting to perform our songs live with full blast!

-Finally, how do you plan to celebrate after the Premier Show? Any special plans to mark the occasion?

Lee: I’m just gonna plan for the next opportunity to get to play more shows and meet more, and new fans, and do this full-time. We are coming for you, world!

Evan: I think we will be kind of exhausted after the show in a, you know…lucky way… But sure after the show we will sit down together in a relaxed environment and having a cold drink or two and just enjoy the moment and chat about the show and hopefully all went well, so there will be just good vibes!

About the band

Welcome to the musical world of Symphony Of Sweden!

Coming from the North of Sweden with winter and ice bears all over the place, the music is the other way around. Grand and epic with huge arrangements, the missing link between pop and metal – this is Symphony of Sweden! Add the powerful voice of Linus “Lee” Wester and the creative talent of Pontus “Evan” Hagberg you will have a concept that brings you on a journey from here to eternity.

Symphony Of Sweden is:
Pontus „Evan” Hagberg
Linus „Lee” Wester

The HistoryEvan and Lee lived in the same small town up north in Sweden. Lee had his own little service point, betting shop, tobacco store nearby which also happened to be Evan’s local service point where he went to get his parcels. After saying hello to each other for a couple of years, there was one day Evan had a parcel to get – which obviously was music-related. They fell into conversation with each other, a few days later Evan invited Lee to his studio. Evan: „he had found one of my instrumental tracks on Youtube and sang it with a new melody on top and lyrics for me in the studio, right there when he just arrived! I was blown away, and a week later we had our first ever track produced and completed. As soon he sang his first two words in the studio I wanted to work with him!”

The band released their first album, Inner Demons in January 2021, and their second album, Saints Of Yesterday came out on the 3rd of February, 2022. The band’s latest material, Haunted was released on the 7th of February, 2024.
