Nova Twins have hit the road with Evanescence and Spiritbox on one of the year’s biggest rock tours, fresh off their NPR Tiny Desk Concert and a run of standout festival sets on both sides of the Atlantic. The North American arena run kicked off June 11 in West Palm Beach, FL and carries the celebrated British duo across the U.S. and Canada through early August, bringing their acclaimed new album Parasites & Butterflies to the stage each night. Nova Twins also share the stage with Amy Lee and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante to perform “Fight Like A Girl” for one of the show’s most unforgettable moments.

The tour is the latest milestone in Nova Twins’ remarkable ascent from underground disruptors to one of the most innovative and celebrated acts in modern rock. Comprised of Amy Love and Georgia South, the Mercury Prize and two-time BRIT Award-nominated duo have spent the last few years redefining genre boundaries with their fearless fusion of rock, punk, hip-hop, electronic music, and pop while earning praise from fans and icons alike.

Produced by Rich Costey (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Sam Fender), Parasites & Butterflies finds Nova Twins pushing their sound further than ever while embracing a newfound vulnerability, exploring anxiety, identity, mental health, empowerment and resilience. The album has further cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting bands working today, with Alternative Press praising their “heady mix of alt-rock, R&B, and grimey electro-punk” and Consequence calling standout single”Monsters” “a heavy dance-rocker with a powerful sing-along chorus.”

Beyond the music, Nova Twins have become one of the most influential voices for change in alternative culture. Their Voices For The Unheard initiative has helped spotlight underrepresented artists. Their campaigning in 2022 led to the MOBO Awards recognising alternative music with its own category for the first time, a category they went on to win in 2026. They have also established the Nova Twins Creative Musicianship Scholarship at ICMP, funding three years of tuition for aspiring musicians.

STEVE HACKETT & STEVE ROTHERY Announce Long-Awaited Collaborative Album “The Roaring Waves”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 18, 2026

Two titans of progressive music, Steve Hackett (Genesis) and Steve Rothery (Marillion), come together for the first time on ‘The Roaring Waves’ – Seven instrumental tracks that range from the dexterously ridiculous to the brilliantly sublime, though with one common theme: the profundity of the sea.  As Rothery explains: “In winter you could hear the roaring of the of the waves during the stormy weather, Whitby was a very evocative place to live, a very poetic and powerful place to grow up.”

The record has been much talked about over the years, and it will now finally see the light of day on August 28th, 2026 via InsideOutMusic.

‘The Roaring Waves’ has been in the making for the best part of eight years, though the initial idea of the pair making an album together was first mooted around three years before that, but their respective day jobs and touring itineraries kept them from working together for months at a time. Though recording sessions at the Racket Club, and their respective home studios yielded a rich seam of creativity. “It was a bit old school our approach, like the idea of mates getting together in the garage and playing and hanging out” says Hackett of their approach to creativity.

‘The Roaring Waves’ will be available to pre-order on June 26th, and that date will also mark the first time fans will be able to hear and see what the album is all about, with a first single release.

Look out for more information very soon!

TESLA Unveil New Video Single ‘Never Alone’ from Upcoming Album

Today, the acclaimed American hard rock band TESLA is proud to unveil their new single, “Never Alone,” taken from their upcoming album, ‘Homage,’ set for release on July 17, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl. Marking a full-circle moment in their storied career, the album finds the band returning to their roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.

On the creation of the new original track, Brian Wheat shares:

“‘Never Alone’ is a new song that we wrote in the 11th hour of recording the album ‘Homage.’ It started out as a simple guitar riff. I was at my friends Rachael Ray and John Cusimano’s house filming an episode for her TV show, I had some time to kill so I went into their studio in the house, picked up John’s acoustic guitar and started strumming these chords to kill some time. When I listened back to it, it sounded like a TESLA song. I thought maybe it was gonna be a song for one of my other projects, but it sounded like TESLA. So I sent it to Jeff and he said it’s definitely TESLA. Out of that he came up with the title ‘Never Alone,’ we worked on it together writing the lyrics, the music, switching the chorus around a little bit and as a result, I think it turned out pretty good. I hope you enjoy it. This is our new song ‘Never Alone’ because we’re never alone.”

It is remarkable to reflect on the more than 40 years since TESLA began as a cover band performing in California nightclubs before going on to write and record original material and sell millions of albums.

Much like their musical heroes — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—artists who honed their craft by performing songs from those who came before them, TESLA followed a similar path in their early years and continues to embrace the tradition of paying tribute through cover songs today.

‘Homage,’ the band’s upcoming album, not only honors legendary artists but also provides an opportunity to showcase lead singer Jeff Keith’s vocal diversity. The album stands as a thank-you expressed through music, an offering to the iconic voices and songs that shaped the band’s influences and, ultimately, their own songwriting.

‘Homage’ is not about imitation, but acknowledgment, tracing the line from influence to identity, from listening to becoming. The project also arrives more than 20 years after the ‘Real to Reel’ series, a release that helped inspire the creation of a new original TESLA song, “Never Alone.”

The selected songs on ‘Homage’ were chosen for a variety of reasons, primarily representing some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Etta James, and James Brown. Additional selections reflect songs the band grew up hearing on the radio and on their turntables.

On the upcoming album, TESLA shares:

“Our new album ‘Homage’ is a thank-you note written in sound. An offering to the great singers and songs that shaped the music we grew up listening to, and the songs we would eventually write. We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did making it. Thank you for all the years – Keep it Real and Keep On Rockin’!”

EXTERMINATION DAY Unleash First Single & Video ‘Ruse Cycle’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 18, 2026

Following the recent announcement of their signing to Argonauta Records, Minneapolis, Minnesota’s EXTERMINATION DAY return with a brand new single and video, “Ruse Cycle”, offering the first taste of the band’s forthcoming album, currently in the works and slated for release at a later date.

Blending the crushing weight of Trouble and The Obsessed with the raw aggression of Poison Idea, the crossover attitude of Blind-era Corrosion of Conformity, and the unhinged spirit of Die Kreuzen, EXTERMINATION DAY continue to refine the distinctive sound they proudly call Hoss Rock.

Featuring current and former members of Suffering Hour, Satan’s Satyrs and Kult of the Wizard, the Minneapolis outfit has quickly established itself as one of the most uncompromising new voices in the American underground. Loud, confrontational, and fueled by equal parts grit and conviction, the band delivers heavy music that refuses to pull its punches.

With “Ruse Cycle”, EXTERMINATION DAY turn their attention toward the mechanisms of manipulation, division, and social control that increasingly shape modern life.

The band comments:

“Ruse Cycle is our take on the manipulation and manufactured erosion of the human spirit our government and media engages in. While people continue to engage in arguments over trivial things like who is and isn’t allowed to entertain us, the law and rights that are supposed to protect us are methodically being dismantled and increasingly hold little value. Our government is increasingly stifling free speech, using intimidation, and even busting down doors without warrants. Everything is presented to us in black and white terms, and it seems as if most media personalities are grifters monetizing human suffering. The ones in control curate culture wars to keep us all fighting each other so we don’t look upward at them.”

Musically, “Ruse Cycle” captures everything that makes EXTERMINATION DAY such a compelling force: thunderous riffs, punk-fueled urgency, doom-laden heaviness, and a fearless willingness to challenge convention. It is both a statement of intent and a powerful introduction to the next chapter of the band’s evolution.

More details about EXTERMINATION DAY’s forthcoming album will be revealed in the coming months through Argonauta Records.

French progressive heavy metal outfit CRYSTAL THRONE has unleashed their new single and lyric video “Children Of The Ruins”, offering the first glimpse into the band’s upcoming concept album “Chantry Of Sacrifice”, set for release on October 2, 2026.

Formed in 2019 in Metz, France, and drawing inspiration from acts such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory, Judas Priest, and Symphony X, CRYSTAL THRONE combine classic heavy metal foundations with progressive structures and a strong cinematic identity. Known for their futuristic visual universe, neon aesthetics, smoke effects, and laser-driven live performances, the band continues to carve out their own space within modern progressive heavy metal.

“Children Of The Ruins” introduces the narrative foundation of “Chantry Of Sacrifice”, CRYSTAL THRONE’s second full-length album and a fully developed science fiction concept record.

Set in the distant future of 5150, the album follows Hÿldr, a war veteran and scientific project leader who awakens to an unimaginable reality: Earth has mysteriously vanished, leaving her as the last human in the universe. Hÿldr is then entrusted with one final mission – to travel back in time, uncover the cause of Earth’s disappearance, and alter the course of history before it is too late.

As the band states: “The fierce attack of heavy metal meets the virtuosity of prog : Melodic and powerful, Crystal Throne takes no prisoner!“

Tracklist:

  1. A Hero’s Call
  2. Children Of The Ruins
  3. Tides Of Ages
  4. Electrical Savior
  5. Walls Of Silent Mourn
  6. Antagonists
  7. Insurgent Outcry
  8. Chantry Of Sacrifice
  9. Sleeping In The Void

Driven by powerful heavy metal riffs, expansive progressive arrangements, and cinematic storytelling, “Children Of The Ruins” marks the beginning of this narrative journey and sets the tone for the larger story unfolding across “Chantry Of Sacrifice”.

“Chantry Of Sacrifice” will be released on October 2, self-released by the band, and is now available for pre-order HERE

Terry Defire – Vocals
