BRAINSORE to Release Debut Album “The Grip of the Naked Mind” on August 2nd

Time To Kill Records is proud to present BRAINSORE’s debut album, “The Grip of the Naked Mind”, on CD and digital formats. The album will be released on August 2nd 2024.

The first single “In Life Is Coils” is now streaming at THIS LOCATION.

“Here the lyrical concept is the volcanic and somehow deranged depiction of life as an hardship itself, a pinnacle of traumas. Like most of my lyrics it’s visionary, abstract, misty and unclear. The lyric title says it all: in life is coils”.

When merited veterans of the Italian death metal and grindcore scenes conspire to breathe life into a new entity, you know you are in for a real treat.

Founded in Modena by drummer Don Gulag and guitarist Holy Father in spring 2022, the duo eventually recruited vocalist Horcrux Urethra (ex-Jesus Ain’t In Poland) and started focusing on songwriting and live activity, storming the stages all over northern Italy.

BRAINSORE
find themselves on the crossroad between grind, death metal, hardcore and general hysteria. With no compromises or no rules, the band push the boundaries for an intense and chaotic soundscape without losing their love for groove and subtle melodies.

Expertly wielding the fierce brutality and massive aggression of their genre, the Italians add intelligent songwriting, effective arrangements, and musical proficiency as well as unexpected elements to their sound.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Quinn Sullivan has released ‘Salvation,’ his deeply personal and musically expansive new studio album, out today via Provogue/Mascot Label Group. Cementing his evolution as an artist, Quinn is celebrating the release with a lyric video for “Once Upon A Lie,” a breezy number that Quinn has called his favorite on the album. “I’ve had this song for 6 years but just never finished it until now,” Quinn shares. “Turn it up!”

Following the album’s previous single “Rise Up Children,” which invited listeners to connect through the universal language of music, “Once Upon A Lie” is the latest in a series of recent releases from Quinn that have showcased his deepening artistry and emotional range. On the deeply personal “Half My Heart,” Quinn delves into the profound pain of separation, capturing the sorrow of a romantic relationship that has recently ended. On “Dark Love,” he explores the complex dynamics of a toxic relationship. And on the album’s title track, “Salvation (Make Me Wanna Pray),” he uses B3 organ and wah-wah pedal to merge classic rock and soul with contemporary flair.

Quinn’s journey in music has been marked by a steady progression and a deepening of his artistic expression. Known for his exceptional guitar talent from a young age, Sullivan has earned acclaim for his performances and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music. His previous album, ‘Wide Awake,’ showcased his ability to blend his musical influences and skills in a way that pushed his creative boundaries. The album was well-received, highlighting Quinn’s capacity for storytelling and musical exploration.

Since ‘Wide Awake,’ Quinn has continued to evolve, taking his music on the road and gathering new experiences that inform his work. His recent involvement with the new ensemble Trouble No More, sanctioned by the Allman Brothers Band to carry on their live-performance legacy and introduce their music to a new generation, has further enriched his sonic palette. This collaboration infuses his work with a taste of the timeless soul and depth of classic rock.

Quinn is currently on a nationwide tour to support his new album, performing at various venues across the US, including intimate music rooms and the renowned City Winery locations. The release of ‘Salvation’ follows Quinn’s notable appearance at Panic en la Playa, where he performed with Trouble No More and guest starred with Eric Krasno and The Main Squeeze. ERNTE Release + Stream Third Full-Length Album “Weltenzerstörer”

Swiss black metal duo ERNTE has released the band’s third full-length record, entitled “Weltenzerstörer”, which is out now on Vendetta Records.

Following the band’s previous two albums (“Geist und Hexerei” / “Albsegen”), “Weltenzerstörer” represents a further development of ERNTE‘s earlier work, emphasizing its melodic and atmospheric elements while remaining true to its black metal origins.

ERNTE about their new album, its aesthetics and meaning:
“The cover was created by a graphic designer we came across on social media. His image immediately appealed to us and, in our eyes, fits the album title perfectly: Next to the sea monster, the ‘world destroyer’, the few humans seem tiny and almost disappear. This world destroyer is also conjured up in a satanic ritual in the form of Leviathan in our first single/video ‘Ruler of Chaos, Bringer of Storm’, for example.

But Weltenzerstörer (‘world destroyer’) doesn’t just mean the destruction of our earth – the plural ‘worlds’ is a deliberate choice. The world of sick thoughts. The world of false feelings. The world of consumption, or the world of manipulation. The world of religions, which we all deeply despise.

Weltenzerstörer is not a concept album, yet it can be said in general that the lyrics on the album embody a misanthropic attitude. It is about consciously chosen loneliness and the search for a higher meaning. But it is also an invocation of ancient powers and spirits in order to create new ones with the destruction of today’s sick world(s) and to give nature more space again.“

Tracklist:

  1. The Witch (Was Born in Flames)
  2. Ruler of Chaos, Bringer of Storm
  3. Silent and Bleak
  4. Trip to a Solitary Moon
  5. Vessels of Sacrifice
  6. The Fire Lake: Death of Souls
  7. Profound Eyes

“Weltenzerstörer” was recorded and mixed by ERNTE‘s guitar player & main songwriter Häxär at Inferno Studio, Switzerland. Master by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studio, UK. Listen to the full album here:

WITHERING SURFACE Unleash New Album “Exit Plan”, Out Now

“Exit Plan”, the sixth studio album from WITHERING SURFACE, following the success of the 2020-comeback album “Meet You Maker”, is finally out. An album where both songwriting and lyrical concept appear stronger than ever for the band. Topping this is the production by Soren Andersen (Medley Studio), mainly known in rock and hard rock circles for his work with artists like Thundermother, Tygers Of Pan Tang and Glenn Hughes. Soren Andersen was not the obvious choice of producer for a melodic death metal band but ended up being the perfect match for Withering Surface anno 2024 delivering a huge over-the-top sound.

“We won’t deny the greased-up riffs and blackened snarls of Withering Surface’s latest single Denial Denial Denial haven’t got us wanting to fire up the grill and crack open a cold one, the Danish band treading the line between Motorhead and Abbath with their own sense of flair” Metal Hammer

“Melodious and brutal with a correspondingly good vocal” 5/6 Scream Magazine – album of the month

“Exit Plan” is out today on CD, LP (black vinyl) and digital formats via Mighty Music. Stream and order it here.

“Exit Plan” tracklist:

1. [Enter]
2. Exit Plan
3. Where Dreamers Die
4. Not The Destination
5. The Oracle
6. I Finally Lost (All Faith In Humanity)
7. Denial Denial Denial
8. Finish What You Started
9. You Hurt This Child
10. Mindreader

The lyrical concept
“Exit Plan” is about breaking boundaries and norms that have been set for one. To put a mental period and start over. To get complete clarity about where you are and are going and want to end = “Exit Plan”. Song titles include “Where Dreamers Die”, “Mindreader”, “You Hurt This Child” and “I Finally Lost (All Faith In Humanity)” and are all with a lyrical foundation in the aforementioned outlook on life, sex, shame, religion and a fading view of humanity.

“Exit Plan” is a lyrical extension of its predecessor “Meet Your Maker”, where a religious meeting with the higher powers made the protagonist realise that there is no help to be had from anyone but the person himself. That you stand alone. That the only one who can help you is yourself. Cold cynicism and power do not go hand in hand with charity. Forget the norm and anything that doesn’t work for you. No excuse, no blame. You are not a social experiment. The thanks you get when you’re gone are worthless and remember one of man’s greatest qualities is to repress.

Lineup:
Allan Tvedebrink – guitars
Michael H. Andersen – vocals
Jesper Kvist – bass
Troels Lund-Sørensen – drums
Marco Angioni – guitars

All drums on “Exit Plan” performed by Jakob Gundel

THE SCARLET OPERA Drop New Single ‘Someone’s Gotta Love ‘Em’

Buzzing Los Angeles band The Scarlet Opera unleashes a showstopping new single entitled “Someone’s Gotta Love ‘Em,” out today via SB Projects / Republic Records—listen HERE. The high energy song sets the stage for their forthcoming sophomore EP, due out later this summer.

On “Someone’s Gotta Love ‘Em,” epic guitars resound, cinematic strings soar, and frontman Luka Bazulka emanates the kind of starpower and charisma that comes along once in a generation. The catchy chorus proves instantly chantable as he sets the scene, “I met a bird last night she was drunk at a bar, she said let me introduce you to my friend he’s a star.”

The Scarlet Opera says, “‘Someone’s Gotta Love ‘Em’ is an electric and visceral recount of characters we’ve met throughout our bar hopping years – much like most of this upcoming EP, we found a mirror was being held up to us while writing about all these wonderfully bizarre creatures of the night. As it turns out, they are we and we are them – and someone’s gotta love us, don’t you think!”

It follows the fiery “Catch Me If You Can,” which beyond picking up steam at DSPs, has earned widespread praise. Popdust dubbed it a “captivating, high energy track that kicks off their new era with a bang,” while The Honey Pop proclaimed, “It’s your dose of rock-and-roll combined with a mixture of badass lyricism, an intoxicating chorus, and a whole lot of infectious melodies.”

In other news, the band is currently wrapping up their headlining Catch Me If You Can Tour this weekend, which has canvassed much of the US. With only one show remaining, the tour concludes with a sold-out show on June 9th at Songbyrd Music House in Washington, DC.

Not to mention, they just ignited the stage of Napa’s BottleRock Festival. Speaking to their standout performance, RIFF Magazine applauded, “A little bit Queen and a little bit Journey, the band had a cinematic sound with the flair of a Broadway show.” Meanwhile, Music Junkie Press noted, “It was clear that they are on a trajectory to the top.”

Last year, the band released their empowering single “That Kind Of Woman” and beloved debut Comedy EP, which features breakout songs “The Place To Be,” “Big City Thing,” “Alive,” and “Riot.” Amassing millions of streams to date, Comedy landed acclaim courtesy of Rolling Stone, Flaunt, LADYGUNN, Jezebel, Just Jared, Queerty, and more, with HITS Daily Double proclaiming, “The Scarlet Opera blends classic arena pomp rock, neon-bright ’80s pop and more than a dash of Broadway-style virtuosity into an infectious, gender-blending cocktail that its burgeoning fan base finds utterly intoxicating.” Not to mention, the band received a nomination for “Breakthrough Music Artist” at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards.

ABOUT THE SCARLET OPERA:
Fusing the grandeur of the theatre with the raw energy of rock and roll, The Scarlet Opera – a five piece band hailing from Los Angeles – offers an escape into the throes of love, lust, glamour, and passion. Formed as ‘Perta’ in 2016 and reborn in 2022, The Scarlet Opera is led by lyricist and frontman Luka Bazulka, whose authentic narrative and vocal prowess are matched only by the musical talents of band members Colin Kenrick [keyboard], Daniel Zuker [bass], Justin Siegal [drums], and Chance Taylor [guitar]. The band’s origins are tied to one fateful night when Colin, upon witnessing Luka perform an inspiring solo vocal set, enlisted long time friends and seasoned musicians Daniel, Chance, and Justin to provide a new dimension to what was already brimming with potential. Word of packed venues and a captivating live show soon drew the attention of SB Projects and Republic Records, who turned to hit songwriter and producer David Stewart [BTS, Jonas Brothers] to collaborate, inspire, and further ignite an already growing fire. With the release of their 2023 debut EP Comedy, latest singles “Catch Me If You Can” and “Someone’s Gotta Love ‘Em,” and more music and tour dates on the way for 2024, The Scarlet Opera is poised to make their mark.

French death metal outfit AD PATRES released their new album “Unbreathable” on June 7th, via Non Serviam Records.

LISTEN/ORDER “Unbreathable” HERE: https://album.link/unbreathable

Main composer and guitar player Olivier Bousquet‘s clear vision shaped the album. Fostering a suffocating and claustrophobic atmosphere, “Unbreathable” seamlessly integrates new technical horizons with the band’s signature sound, resulting in a work of heightened accomplishment.

“Unbreathable” is available as CD, vinyl and digital.

“Unbreathable” track listing reads as follows
1.       Intro
2.       The Dream Chaser
3.       Versus
4.       Deserter
5.       Exodus
6.       Interlude
7.       Chapter X
8.       The Medium
9.       Rebellion Grief
10.    Deus Deceptor

The stunning cover artwork was crafted by Yohan “Haash” Hühner.

Bordeaux-based AD PATRES were founded in 2008 and released their first EP 2 years later – featuring three intense and brutal tracks that drew inspiration from death metal giants like MORBID ANGEL and SUFFOCATION. The EP laid the foundation for their unique sound, blending classic death metal standards with modern influences.
After their first full-length offspring “Scorn Aesthetics” in 2012, the band quickly gained recognition for their brutal and uncompromising approach to death metal.
The band is known for a style that seamlessly oscillates between melodic elements and unbridled aggression. Rejecting a calculated approach, AD PATRES focuses on crafting music that resonates with their personal tastes, involves meticulous refinement, and undergo extensive rehearsal.
Describing their sound as clean, direct, and devoid of unnecessary frills, they aim for a music experience that is unequivocally “in your face”, as their latest effort “A Brief Introduction To Human Experiments” (2018) showcases.

AD PATRES are:
Olivier Bousquet – Songwriting, Guitars
Sylvestre Alexandre – Guitars
