WICKED ONE: Forged in Death Metal. Entering the Black.
Some musicians spend their entire careers defining a sound. Others eventually feel the need to step outside it. WICKED ONE is what happens when accomplished death-metal musicians turn toward the darkness of black metal.
Today, Metal Shock Finland exclusively premieres “Lord Lake of Fire”, the second single and official music video from this newly emerging American black metal force.

WICKED ONE made its public debut on 6/6/26 with “Kneel Before Lucifer”, immediately establishing a darker direction built around aggressive black metal, occult imagery, and an increasingly immersive world of forbidden knowledge, rebellion, and transcendence.
But behind this new project are musicians with decades of experience in the extreme-metal underground.
Scott Eames, handling guitars, vocals, and songwriting, has been associated with some of death metal & black metal’s most formidable names, including NILE, VITAL REMAINS, THY ANTICHRIST, and NEVALRA. On drums is Darren Cesca, whose career includes DEEDS OF FLESH, ARSIS, VILE and others. Bass duties are handled by Max Lavelle, best known for his work with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and DESPISED ICON. Together, they have spent years operating within the world of death metal – technical, aggressive, demanding, and uncompromising.
Now they’ve entered the realm of black metal.
WICKED ONE isn’t intended as a departure from their past so much as an opportunity to explore a different side of extreme metal. The musicians bring the experience, precision, and intensity developed through their years in death metal, but the destination is unmistakably darker. Black metal provides the foundation. The result is WICKED ONE.
The Descent Continues
If “Kneel Before Lucifer” was the band’s introduction, “Lord Lake of Fire” pushes further into the world WICKED ONE is creating.
Eames describes the progression simply:
“‘Lord Lake of Fire’ takes another step deeper into the world of WICKED ONE. If ‘Kneel Before Lucifer’ was the invocation, this is the descent. The song is even more relentless, and carries a different kind of weight. We wanted the visual to feel like you’re witnessing something you probably shouldn’t be seeing; and Aimed & Framed brought that vision to life exactly the way we imagined it.”
The accompanying video was once again produced by Aimed & Framed, whose credits include Kerry King, Exodus, Suffocation, Deicide, and other major names in extreme metal.
The visual presentation is an important part of the WICKED ONE identity. Rather than simply accompanying the music, the videos expand the mythology and atmosphere surrounding the project, creating the feeling of witnessing something ancient, forbidden, and not entirely meant to be seen.
That same philosophy extends to the band’s visual identity, including its distinctive logo created by legendary artist Christophe Szpajdel, the “Lord of the Logos”.
From Death Metal to Black Metal
There is no attempt to distance WICKED ONE from the musicians’ history. Quite the opposite. Their history is part of what makes the project interesting. These are musicians who have already established themselves within the extreme-metal world, now choosing to enter a different realm and build something from the ground up.
Death metal forged the musicians. Black metal gives WICKED ONE its new direction.
Following the June premiere of “Kneel Before Lucifer” through Metal Injection, WICKED ONE has continued building momentum with new music, visuals, merchandise, and plans for international expansion. And “Lord Lake of Fire” represents only the second chapter.
The invocation has already been made. Now comes the descent.
