Having built their reputations within the death metal underground, the musicians of WICKED ONE unite under a shared black metal vision. The lineup brings together seasoned players whose collective history spans death metal bands such as Nile, The Black Dahlia Murder, Deeds of Flesh, Vital Remains, Arsis, Nevalra, Serpent of Gnosis, and more. With Scott Eames (“Wicked One”) on guitars, vocals, and songwriting, alongside drummer Darren Cesca (“Agares”) and bassist Maxwell Lavelle (“Malvernis”), WICKED ONE channels decades of extreme metal experience into a project firmly rooted in the spirit of black metal.

WICKED ONE has emerged with the release of its debut single and official music video, “Kneel Before Lucifer”, which premiered on Metal Injection on 6/6/26. The track serves as the first public offering from the band’s forthcoming debut album ‘Burn Thy Offering’.

According to founder and songwriter Scott Eames:

“I used to play the Wicked One character in a previous band. After having a blast playing the character for years and many tours, it felt like Wicked One deserved its own voice. WICKED ONE isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about stripping everything down to something direct and unapologetic: scathing black metal that simply drips with hatred.”

To bring the visual dimension of the project to life, WICKED ONE partnered with acclaimed production team Aimed & Framed, whose work with artists such as Kerry King, Deicide, Suffocation, and Exodus has earned widespread recognition throughout the metal community.

Additional singles and music videos have already been completed and will be released in the months ahead as the project builds toward the album’s full unveiling.

“For me, ‘Kneel Before Lucifer’ is more than simply the first song release,” says Eames. “It’s the moment Wicked One crosses the threshold, and the world gets to hear Wicked One in full form, staring back.”

With plans extending beyond the studio and onto stages worldwide, WICKED ONE marks the beginning of a long-term vision that will continue to unfold through future albums (already in progress), visual works, and live performances across every territory of the world.
