American brutal death metal mavericks PATHOLOGY, spearheaded by Dave Astor of ex-Cattle Decapitation and ex-The Locust, offer the stream of their twelfth studio album “Unholy Descent”, released today on May 17th via Agonia Records.

Listen to the album in full, here:

“Unholy Descent” is a sinister hybrid of unflinching and delightful aural punishment. The album is replete with razor-sharp guitars and brutish, frog-edged vocals, clipped together by a hard-slamming cascade of tight & taut drumming. With drops of melody seeping into the crevices of PATHOLOGY‘s unremitting charge, these thirteen tales of ancient aliens, demonic powers and social issues, will leave your hearing beaten and bruised in the best way possible.

The relentless wave of sonic devastation of “Unholy Descent” was carefully designed, recorded and mixed at Sharkbite Studios by Zack Ohren (Aborted, All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth) in June 2023, and aptly mastered by the capable hands of Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Origin, Cannibal Corpse, Cattle Decapitation). The painting which adorns the cover artwork was created by Pär Olofsson (Exodus, Abysmal Dawn, Immolation).

“Unholy Descent” is PATHOLOGY‘s third consecutive album with the same personnel, comprising a proven set of talented death metal mavericks, in the shape of said Dave Astor on drums, Daniel Richardson on guitars, Richard Jackson on bass, and Obie Flett on vocals. The line-up was portrayed in photography by Nikki Astor.

“We are very happy to release this album to the world,” Dave Astor comments. “It delves into conspiracies and ancient mythos, while incorporating new elements to the music. Making this album was incredibly enjoyable, and we hope our fans appreciate it as much as we do.” On the fast-approaching concert dates, Dave adds: “Pathology is thrilled to announce our upcoming spring tour alongside NecroticGoreBeast and Aethereus. Get ready for an unforgettable experience as we hit the road again. Secure your tickets now and join us for an epic night of metal!”

PATHOLOGY is renowned for their unyielding death metal assault on the ears, fueled by a relentless hunger to produce bludgeoning music with profound themes that set them apart from others in the genre. Formed in 2006 by Dave Astor, ex-cofounder of bands like The Locust and Cattle Decapitation, the band has evolved into its strongest lineup, creating a perfect combination of talent. Their music is an intense amalgamation of brutal riffs, crushing drums, and dark imagery, making it impossible to divert one’s attention from their blood-soaked and twisted world of death metal. Their live performances, filled with guttural growls and rumbling grooves, leave both old and new fans captivated by the sheer force of PATHOLOGY‘s music. The band left a trail of triumphant performances across North America, Mexico, Canada, and Europe, sharing the stage with renowned acts (such as Obituary, Deicide, Nile, Vader, Immolation, and Grave, among others). Their impressive fan base of over 225,000 followers on social media is a testament to the fervor they ignite among their supporters.

FEED THEM DEATH Premiere ‘Deleterious’ Single from Upcoming Album

No Clean Singing is hosting the exclusive premiere of “Deleterious“, a merciless track from FEED THEM DEATH‘s new album “The Malady“. This latest preview from the band’s new effort is now streaming HERE.

“The Malady” is the fifth release by Death-Grind project FEED THEM DEATH, and it will be released via Brucia Records on June 20th, 2024 on digital and a special limited edition containing CD, Tape with low-fi one take rehearsals, a personalized notebook and a pin all placed inside a black mortuary bag.

3 years exactly after the critically acclaimed “Negative”, FEED THEM DEATH are back with another slab of fast, dissonant and chaotic anti-music.

Eleven new tracks eccentrically fusing Grindcore, Death Metal, D-beat, Sludge, 80’s Crust-Punk / Thrashcore and Noise Rock with a deconstructed and improvisational jazz sensibility.

FEED THEM DEATH was formed in 2017 by Void, and have so far released 3 full length albums and 1 EP, building a reputation for their fiercely experimental and dissonant approach to extreme music.

For the first time since its inception featuring a full line-up, with “The Malady” the band delivers an unrelenting, unhinged, full frontal assault to the senses, creating something raw, sometimes flawed, but always viscerally real.

The lyrics are once again central to delivery of Feed Them Death message, in continuity with both the punk hardcore early scene and the project’s own ethos of utilizing a vast array of counter-cultural references to engage the listeners in a fierce critique of the world around us.

A “fuck you all”, however spelt with literacy and intelligence, borrowing from George Orwell’s 1984, or from classical references like the paraboles of Sisyphus and Icarus, to reflect upon universals such as hate, guilt or human frailty, towards a possible redemption offered by the power of individuality and the freedom of thought: because yes, “People are a malady” and what we think we know is often “Deleterious”, but “Above All… and so below – tumult is the only thing aglow!”

FFO: Napalm Death, Dystopia, Heresy, Septic Death.

1 – Above All… (01:14)
2 – Two Minutes Hate (01:56)

Ayreon reveals the spectacular live video for “Fate of Man” which you can watch HERE. The song is taken from ‘01011001 – Live Beneath the Waves‘ which is released today, via Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group.

An Ayreon live event is a monumental occasion where the highest-calibre musicians and an enormous production come together to forge a bombastic spectacle. In September 2023, Arjen Lucassen’s ‘01011001 – Live Beneath the Waves‘ sold out five performances at Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Today, the concert is available on 3LP, 2CD+DVD, Blu-ray, Earbook, and digital formats.

Talking about Fate of Man, Arjen Lucassen says, “And here’s the final preview video from Ayreon’s ‘Live beneath The Waves’ DVD/BluRay’: Fate of Man. Maybe it’s weird to not pick a song from the 01011001 album, but this song really stood out for me… such energy on stage! The band is just amazing as we all know, I’ll never know how they manage to play this complicated song with such unflappable ease. And what about these breath-taking vocals from Brittney Slayes? She’s unbelievable, right? Let me know if you agree… thanks and enjoy!”

You can pre-order ‘01011001 – Live Beneath the Waves‘ here.

This live production, based on the critically acclaimed 2008 concept album ‘01011001,’ was performed in its entirety, followed by a number of encore songs. The stage came alive with an imposing backdrop, LED screens showcasing fantastic visuals, lasers, pyrotechnics, special effects, and a unique live surround sound experience – a setup that would be at home on Broadway or London’s West End.

Lucassen has previously revealed the live videos for  The Day the World Breaks Down and ‘The Sixth Extinction’.

Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen, alongside keyboardist Joost van den Broek, assembled a remarkable lineup, featuring many original cast members from the 01011001 album and various special guests such as Simone Simons (Epica), Damian Wilson (Threshold), Anneke van Giersbergen, Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Tom Englund (Evergrey), Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation), Marcela Bovio (MaYan), Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), John Jaycee Cuijpers (Praying Mantis), Maggy Luyten (Beautiful Sin), Michael Mills (Toehider) and Wudstik, among other incredible musicians.

The band featured top instrumentalists from the genre – Ed Warby (Drums), Johan van Stratum (Bass), Timo Somers (Guitar), Marcel Coenen (Guitar), Joost Van Den Broek (Keyboards) and more. The enigmatic Lucassen himself made an appearance, marking this as the largest cast in Ayreon’s live show history, which is no mean feat. ‘Live Beneath the Waves‘ vividly brings to life the water planet Y, immersing audiences in this technological underwater world.

On September 29, 2023, ATENA released their studio album “Subway Anthem,” celebrated with an impressive release concert at Parkteatret in Oslo. The concert was so outstanding that the band decided to release a live album from that evening titled “Live from Parkteatret.”

The album features a ruthless, innovative, and elegant fusion of genres, showcasing why ATENA is at the forefront of the Norwegian metalcore scene. “Live from Parkteatret” serves up the new studio album “Subway Anthem” on a silver platter, opening with the track “Leave,” followed by the hard-hitting “Ultra Ultimate Opus Power.”

Listen to the album here: https://orcd.co/livefrompark

But it’s not just the new studio album being played. Just four tracks into the album, the band plays the single “Oljebarn i Helligvann,” and on track six, they unleash “No Hope for Misscarriages” from their 2020 album “Drowning Regrets & Lungs filled with Water”. The album also includes two of the band’s biggest hits, “Oil Rigs” and “Death is All I Think About.”

In short, the album offers a mix of new and old songs, demonstrating once again that ATENA can seamlessly combine heavy music and powerful themes both on stage and in their albums.

Guitarist and songwriter Vebjørn Iversen shares: “We felt it was time to release a live album given our album catalog. Our concert in Oslo on the release day of Subway Anthem was therefore the perfect place to preserve a good memory for us and everyone who was there.”

In 2024, ATENA isn’t just busy with their new live album; they are also gearing up for an international tour. This fall, the band will embark on their “Nordic Invasion Tour” alongside Aviana, One Morning Left, and Cabal.

Tracks:
Leave (Live)
