Golden Robot Records is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated debut solo album from Kurt Frohlich, the charismatic lead singer of Riley’s L.A. Guns. Titled ‘1977’, the album will be released on June 7, with CDs available in mid-July.
‘1977’ marks Kurt Frohlich’s first solo venture, showcasing his multifaceted talent as both performer and producer. With its share of hooks and raw guitar power, ‘1977’ feels like a time back in the ’70s when rock and roll was tough, wild, and unpredictable.

Each track is a testament to Kurt’s dedication to authenticity, filled with powerful guitar riffs and captivating hooks that evoke the essence of classic rock and punk.
Kurt Frohlich is best known as the dynamic lead vocalist of Riley’s L.A. Guns, bringing his unique style and energy to the legendary rock band. With ‘1977’, Kurt steps into a new chapter, presenting a deeply personal and sonically rich solo project that pays tribute to the sounds that have influenced him since his early days as a musician.
Irish indie rocker Iann Brennan releases new video for single ‘Getaway’, new album ‘Start As You Mean To Go On‘ is out now on AGR Records.
Iann states: “The song is about wanting to have something but you can’t figure out a way to keep it and the actors David and Inga capture that brilliantly. The black and white idea was mine. We shot it in the midlands here in Ireland trying to capture a 90s Irish vibe & I absolutely love it.”
Iann Brennan is an Irish Indie Rock artist from Dublin, Ireland. Playing guitar from the age of 12 and after spending time in some bands, Iann decided to go solo and one of his first gigs was a support slot to renowned Irish band Aslan. After connecting with Irish producer Ray Traynor, who Iann has worked with ever since, he has gone on to write a collection of anthemic, melodic, catchy, heartfelt songs which are influenced by Iann’s heroes such as Oasis, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys and Stereophonics. His unique brand of entertainment fuses anthemic melodic songs and driving guitar lines with energetic and witty stage banter that will make you want to sing and get lost in the music.
Iann’s music reached the ears of German label AGR Television Records, where he signed to the label in 2023 and released the album ‘Start As You Mean To Go On‘, which is out now. Featured on Start As You Mean To Go On is original Aslan songwriter/bassist Tony McGuinness, who heard Brennan’s tunes and wanted to be part of the album. He brings his own flair of magical, grooving bass lines to the record. “A pleasure to be part of Iann’s debut album. He just rocks it.” Damien Dempsey shares of the rising talent: “Within Iann Brennan’s soaring anthemic melodies are lots of wise lines between the cracking hooks. If he’s playing near you, do yourself a favour and try to get to him, he’s the bomb.”
Adding to the list of album credentials, U2’s renowned album designer Steve Averill lent his talents to the album cover, logo and artwork on the album.
Plans are now being made for a tour during the summer/autumn of 2024. Notable past performances include opening for Damien Dempsey, Aslan, Declan O’Rourke, Mary Coghlan, Hazel O’Connor, Eddi Reader and Lisa Hannigan.
Following their latest, much discussed studio album Sound & Fury (released in February 2024 on AFM Records, order HERE), German metal frontrunners DUST BOLT have released a live version of their 2010-track “Children of Violence”!
The song is now streaming below, furthermore, the band has announced a series of tour dates with HAVOK, and will play many more shows this year. Find all upcoming DUST BOLT live dates listed below!
DUST BOLT’s frontman, Lenny B., reveals:
“Bam! The song “Children of Violence,” originally from the first demo EP “Chaos Possession” from 2010, is one of the band’s earliest creations and holds almost symbolic significance for us and our early companions! Now, it is released exclusively as a live version on AFM Records! The Chaos Possession EP is in very few hands and is practically unavailable anywhere. That’s why it was especially important for us to release a fresh version of “Children of Violence” as a special gift to our loyal fans and supporters! Check out CoV live in Amsterdam and feel the vibe!”
Since their formation in 2007, DUST BOLT have been resolute and ruthless in their pursuit of metal glory over the last 16 years. Childhood friends with a collective passion for metal in all its various forms, the quartet have established themselves as one of Europe’s leading thrash metal bands. Their latest album, Sound & Fury, refines and noisily redefines the band’s sound for a new era. UK magazine The Razors Edge wrote, “with their fifth album set for release, this could well be their breakthrough moment”, while Rock Hard Germany is convinced that “Sound & Fury is an album that is as bold as it is varied and unconventional”.“A strong, enthralling and varied album!” said Zephyrs Odem, and also Musikreviews.de confirmed, it’s a “brave album and artistically valuable.”
Written during those isolated months of pandemic lockdown, Sound & Fury represents the peak of the band’s creativity, and a major leap forward in every department. The first DUST BOLT record to feature new bassist Tom Liebing, alongside Lenny Bruce, guitarist Florian Dehn and drummer Nico Remann, Sound & Fury grew from a long period of self-reflection that began when the world shut down.
“Sound and Fury was created during the probably darkest and most difficult time for the band.” Lenny revealed earlier. “First time in our lives, since we were kids, we were somehow separated from another and the dream we lived together seemed to stopped. It was during the pandemic days, when the band even decided to take a break from one another, when Flo came up with this beautiful piece of music – not knowing how he would channel and express our feelings, leading to LB putting some Dust Bolt unusual, but heartfelt vocals on it and having Nico introducing a disco beat to a metal song in the end. We didn’t know what was happening – we just did it. We did know, there’d be a million voices saying we can’t put this up on a Dust Bolt record. But more than that we knew „as long as we stick together, we can do anything the *** we want“ . Sound and Fury is a story about friendship, struggle & inner turmoil. SuF is a story about us. SuF is a different, open and honest Dust Bolt, sharing their emotion with you and your friends.”
Although still rooted in thrash and old school metal, the new record adds dazzling colour and diversity to the band’s trademark sound. With pummelling grooves, spine-tingling dynamics and a startling, part-melodic vocal performance from Lenny Bruce who also produced and recorded the album, with an analogue mix by Moritz Enders [Revolverheld, Silbermond], the new songs mark the beginning of a new era of DUST BOLT destruction!

“Broken Man” showcases ENMY‘s versatility and ability to capture raw emotional depth. The track will easily resonate with audiences across genres.

Rising UK metallers Defects have revealed the official video for “Echo Chamber” to coincide with the release of their debut album ‘Modern Error,’ out today on Mascot Records. You can watch the video HERE.
Defects will play three special UK headline shows – 28 May, Old Blue Last – London, 30 May, Asylum 2 – Birmingham and 21 May, Statans Hollow – Manchester – around the release of their debut album and they will also be joining Of Mice & Men on their tour of the UK and Europe in June as well as festival appearances at Download (UK), Graspop (Belgium), Rockharz (Germany) and Rock the Lakes (Switzerland). You can get tickets from HERE.
Talking about the new track, singer Tony Maue says, “Echo chamber is one of our proudest songs that gave me a chance to touch base on how I’ve felt over the last 16 years. It’s a song that reflects over what it means to still be here moving forward and the trauma that comes with it. It also serves as a way of addressing the elephant in the room and finally being able to close the door on that chapter of my life. Creating my own closure instead of looking for it.”
Modern Error is breathtakingly raw with emotion. Conceptually, it is a deeply cathartic album that acts as a vessel for singer Tony Maue to organise his thoughts on the trauma of being taken into care at a young age. Threaded through the album are Maue’s experiences, how the five members of the band are all connected, and why, at this moment, right now, is the right time for this band to exist. For themselves as much as anyone else.
They have already dropped six singles from the album. This year they released Modern Error, which crushes and paints a poignant message about the path the world is heading down and Lockdown which captures mental challenges. Previously, the Arena bulldozing Broken Bloodlines announced their signing to Mascot records, which followed Dream Awake, Scapegoat and End of Days.
They spent March on an exhilarating European Tour with Orbit Culture, which followed tearing through Europe at the end of 2023 with Of Mice & Men, which built on their already formidable arsenal of touring following shows with Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend and In Flames, as well as performing at festivals such as Bloodstock, 2000Trees and The Great Escape.
All five members have their stories – Tony Maue (Vocals), Luke Genders (Guitar), James Threadwell (Guitar), David Silver (Bass) and Harry Jennings (Drums) – and the album hits with the heaviness and aggression of Lamb Of God and Machine Head, a Linkin Park-like sense of melody, and a touch of Bring Me The Horizon’s fearlessness. For all its heavy subject matter, it burns with vitality, power, passion and woven within is their outlook on the world.
“We’ve always been told to strive for perfection, but I don’t think anyone can be perfect,” Maue considers. “We are all defects in a way, but that makes us all unique.”
