German metal act DUST BOLT have just released a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing new video for their emotional single “Exit”, off the 2016 album Mass Confusion. DUST BOLT addresses a rather important topic with “Exit”: one’s own mental health. Everyone suffers from mental health issues from time to time, some more than others. Especially under the circumstances we are currently living in, social distancing becomes a mostly overseen social problem. But the fewest actually talk openly about it, and rather isolate themselves instead of opening up to someone. With “Exit”, the band wants to encourage people who suffer from these kind of issues to step forward and lean on a friend in times of dire need, to believe in themselves and to accept help when provided or provide help yourself for others.
The band comments: “Mental health is a huge but yet often forgotten topic. Especially in these days, during a lockdown and social distancing, but also in our everyday lives, many of us struggle with anxiety and mental health problems. A few years ago, we crossed paths with Enrique Guilhermes – a talented video and film maker from Portugal, finding the right visuals to our song “Exit”. In times of #stayathome, we want to share this stunning video and interpretation of the song with you. If you deal with mental health problems, or if you know somebody who is struggling with it, we want to encourage you to know that you are not alone. Don´t ignore the chance to get help for yourself or someone else you know who may be in crisis. This life is not about being the strongest. This life is not about fulfilling countless expectations, role pictures or competitions. This is no competition. This is no TRUMPeting of being the best, most beautiful or wealthiest person in your compass. This life is about being YOU, finding yourself and loving yourself. You are stronger than you know.”
After re-defining themselves together with the approach of a new decade, German band DUST BOLT continues their persistent experimental march through new musical territories. As a part of this major decade-long transformation, underlined by the announced line-up changes and promised shift of musical course, the band recently joined Unearth and Prong on their European tour, ready to impress the audience with a special gift, prepared explicitly with the thought of the upcoming live dates.
In the first months of this year, the band delivers on their promise made in January, foretelling an equally challenging as captivating outbreak of fresh and technical energy, serving their explosive metal mixture during both live performances and on studio releases. And there is no better way to re-define musical path than by revisiting one’s own musical roots – on the occasion of the tour with Unearth and Prong, DUST BOLT has just released the new version of “Chaos Possession”, originally published on the band’s same-titled demo in 2010.
This milestone release, from today’s perspective, earned the group the first wave of recognition from both the local as well as the international scene, largely contributing to DUST BOLT’s current status of one of the most promising metal acts worldwide. Newly published as an exclusive bonus track, available solely for fans attending DUST BOLT’s European tour, “Chaos Possession” opens a Pandora’s box of new stylistic possibilities with its brutally shredding riffs and unmistakable vocals: this German quartet can explore with their upcoming works.
“We are excited to share the stage with Unearth and Prong and to come back to places in Europe we haven´t been in a while! 2020 marks a new era for the Bolt – and all we can tell is, that YOU are definitely NOT prepared! We will deliver Riffs, Grooves and Heavy Metal Action as you have never seen it before – that we promise. The new generation is ready and alive. Help us setting these places on fire and meet us at the shows!”

On January 18th DUST BOLTfire a real thrash-bomb with their fourth longplayer Trapped In Chaos, coming out via Napalm Records. Now the raging quartet releases their third single and video off the upcoming record – watch “Another Day In Hell” here:
The band on the new single: “Another Day In Hell is the by far slowest and darkest song on the new album and probably even in DUST BOLT´s history. Originated on an acoustic guitar, Lenny took this song to the rehearsal room one day and it was kind of fitting to how the band and its members were feeling at that point of time. The video was shot on one day, together with Bloodspot frontman and singer Peter Kunz and shows a different side to the band´s personality than most listeners have seen before. For this one we wanted to let the music do the talking and portray the day the song was written from the perspective of every bandmember.”
DUST BOLT emerged in 2006 to encrust Germany and the rest of the world in hefty, Bay Area-influenced thrash metal featuring crossover influences and killer melodies. The four piece elevates it‘s trademark sound to perfection on fourth album Trapped in Chaos: profound lyrics, dark melodies and pure hostility are the ultimate recipe for a thrashfest between retro and modern.

On January 18th, via Napalm Records, DUST BOLT fire a real thrash-bomb with their fourth longplayer Trapped In Chaos.
Now the raging quartet releases their second video off the upcoming record!
Lenny states: “Bloody rain is a really special and outstanding song on the new album and in the history of Dust Bolt. It is by far the most melodic song vocalwise, though it´s also a really dark and heavy banger – especially towards the ending. The song was written by our guitarist Flo D. . I remember him calling me multiple times as he had this song he needed to show me immediately on a rainy and pale day. Mentally it was a dark and uncertain time for both of us, which probably made the song, what is is now. Uncomprehendingly, in some ways “grungy”, heavy and as nihilistic as it can get.”
