Hot on the heels of brilliant debut EP, “Expanse of Hellish Black Mire”, Cleveland death metal quartet NOXIS spews forth the “Violence Inherent In The System” debut LP, an eleven-song concatenation of talent and brutality.

“Violence Inherent In The System” is due out on June 28th, 2024 via Rotted Life (US) and Dawnbreed Records (Europe).

By and large, the underground is a constantly thriving realm that is always spitting out new talent on such a scale that is simply magnificent to gaze upon. When one name pops up to gain the attention of the masses, there’s a litany of others that are birthed out of the void that may become of note the future.

For many, the darkness of the underground is all they’ll ever know while some rise above it to become a massive name in their own right. Others, however, are able to gain quite the following but still find themselves absolutely thriving in the darkness of obscurity.

As one of those notorious creations, Ohio’s NOXIS has been wreaking havoc in those very shadows for a few years now, but it’s with the forthcoming album, “Violence Inherent in the System”, nothing short of staggering in every standard.

Convulsing death metal of the most sadistic sort, this is the sort of absurdity that comes for the very light of creation. Nothing is left to chance as the brand of death metal with which NOXIS wields with terrifying efficiency no matter how they go about it as the whole of the eleven tracks that adorn “Violence Inherent in the System” showcases time after time just how far this act has already come in hardly no time at all.

Where in previous works like “Expanse of Hellish Black Mire” we saw NOXIS take confident steps forward, every given moment of this creation is a tedious labor that craves only the flesh of its victims and to peel apart the souls of those caught in its clutches. As infectious as it is intense from beginning to end, this is a creation that fits perfectly within the deep crevices of the underground where only the strong survive, climb, and thrive!

Nothing can keep NOXIS from pursuing its blood-drenched destiny, not even a wild change in tone and approach that we see in the album’s finale. As far as we should be concerned, “Violence Inherent in the System” is the magnificently victorious offensive that sees NOXIS not just coming out on top, but coated in the blood of the weak as a titanic figure rises amongst the carnage.

This is but of the first assaults that NOXIS will unleash upon the masses with “Violence Inherent in the System”, and what a sight it is.

MAD PAINTER Re-Release “Splashed” Album, Out Now

oston, MA., based 1970’s rock-inspired band, Mad Painter, re-released their 2023, Splashed, album on the record label, Epictronic, on April 26, 2024. The Woodstock-era psychedelic, glam-tinged rock ‘n’ roll band has garnered much attention across the globe with their original melodic songs, party vibe, and music that makes you move.

Mad Painter is Alex Gitlin, songwriter and creator of the band’s concept. He is backed by drummer Al Hendry (Bubba Loaf, Tokyo Tramps), bassist Kenne Highland (ex-Gizmos, Hopelessly Obscure, Johnny & The Jumper Cables, Africa Corps.) and guitarist Al Naha (The Thigh Scrapers), who plays with Kenne in Kenne Highland Airforce. The newest members are two backing vocalists, Sharon Crumrine and Julie Gee.

Alex says, “Splashed, was a bit of a “schizo” album, to tell you the truth. Some of the tracks are songs written and originally recorded as demos back in 1997! With the help of this line-up, we’ve brought them back to life and recorded brand-new versions of them, giving them the patented Painter sound.”

Mad Painter was signed to Epictronic Records in 2023, which is a global label and a subsidiary of Wormholedeath Records. They have a global reach into markets such as Asia (Japan, South Korea), Europe, and North America, which is where they plan to distribute, Splashed.

What is Mad Painter doing now? Alex says, “We’ve gotten songs fully recorded and ready to mix, with three more to be added shortly, for the follow-up to, Splashed. It’s not going to be as diverse in terms of style, perhaps, but more diverse instrumentally speaking. With the latest arrival Sharon Crumrine, we’ve got a pianist, a flautist, and a second backing vocalist.”

Mad Painter is hoping to play some sizable gigs in 2024, festivals, and venture outside of Massachusetts, targeting all of the New England states as well as New York.

OLAMOT started in 2021 from the minds of Daniele Boccali (FICTIO SOLEMNIS) and Edoardo Casini (XENOFACTION, DESOURCE), eager to create a musical concept which develops a story lyrically and conceptually ideated by Edoardo Casini.

The first chapter started in 2022 with the release of “Realms” via Lethal Scissor Records, a highly successful 4 track EP which featured the contribution of many renowned musicians and artists, such as Francesco Ferrini (FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) and Jei Doublerice (DESPITE EXILE). With this first effort the band told the story of Raziel, an individual who aspires to ally with the Devil to become a divinity himself.

The second album, the full-length “Path of Divinity”, sees the band in a bigger context encompassing 9 songs of extreme brutality. The new chapter of the story, based on Raziel’s quest to escape from Hell, musically further develops the intense and profound layers of sound showcased on the EP.

The whole concept will also be developed through a series of books already being written by Edoardo Casini. The same narrative line will be covered by FICTIO SOLEMNIS’ next albums, where the story will be seen by the perspective of the Angel Metatron.

REGARDE LES HOMMES TOMBER, known for their epic narratives and blistering performances, will take the stage to unfold chapters from their critically-acclaimed 2020 album, Ascension. France’s REGARDE LES HOMMES TOMBER rose from the shadows in 2013 with a massive self-titled album released through Les Acteurs De L’Ombre Productions. The band instantly imprinted its vision on the metal community: an epic blend of atmospheric black metal, sludge and death metal spreading out a dark universe inspired by the sacred scriptures.

In 2015, the second full length Exile came out and intensified the quintet’s music, bringing in more extreme influences and developing a dramatic sense of narration through cunningly balanced songs.

REGARDE LES HOMMES TOMBER earned the respect from metal fans with intense and ritualistic live shows and the band’s mystic aura thrilled audiences at Hellfest, Roadburn Festival and Dour Festival. Performances at multiple clubs across Europe followed alongside DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT, YOB, ENSLAVED and AMENRA.

In 2020, the French band returned with the closing chapter of their trilogy, titled Ascension. Continuing the narration after Exile, the record marks an end and a new beginning.
