LAMENTARI Share Visualizer for Second Single ‘Tragoedia in Domo Dei’

Copenhagen -based extreme metallers LAMENTARI have delivered another intense taste of their highly-anticipated debut full-length record, entitled “Ex Umbra In Lucem“, which will be coming out on May 24. Following the release of the first single “Dolorum Memoria”, the band follows up today with a brand new visualizer for the track “Tragoedia in Domo Dei”.

“‘Tragoedia in Domo Dei’ (tragedy in the house of god) weaves the threads of our upcoming album ‘Ex Umbra In Lucem,’ delving into the turmoil of a man besieged by a self-invoked demon,” the band states. “Lost and ensnared, our protagonist embarks on a new path, only to find himself stifled by the entity’s presence, which brings pain and chaos to his world. Seeking solace in organized religion, he discovers the corruption within its hierarchy and those closest to divinity, encapsulated in the title, ‘Tragedy in the House of God.‘”

LAMENTARI, the Danish sextet, is a formidable presence in the world of symphonic black metal. Their music seamlessly combines the darkness of metal with the grandeur of a roaring orchestra, drawing inspiration from cinematic legends like Howard Shore and John Williams. Influenced by the virtuosity of Yngwie Malmsteen and the atmospheric depth of Dimmu Borgir, LAMENTARI creates a haunting yet captivating musical journey through ethereal and infernal sonic realms.

Their intense and mesmerizing sound has already seen them grace the stages of renowned festivals such as Wacken and Copenhell, as well as sharing the spotlight with bands like Moonsorrow and Tsjuder. LAMENTARI‘s unique blend of metal and orchestral elements is brought to life through collaborations with live-orchestral musicians, resulting in a sound that is both powerful and immersive.

The band’s debut release, “Missa Pro Defunctis” in 2020, featured a brass trio and a 12-piece string ensemble, and was released on vinyl to immediate success, selling out within a day. Following this success, LAMENTARI released “Nihilitatis” and “Clavis Aurea,” both of which were limited editions that were quickly snapped up by eager fans within an hour of release. With their innovative approach to symphonic black metal, LAMENTARI continues to captivate audiences with their dark and majestic sound.

The upcoming release of “Ex Umbra In Lucem” will encompass even deeper dives into the devious sounds of the grand orchestra with brass, woodwind and string parts recorded at the legendary AIR Studios in London (known for scores such as ‘Dune’, ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and used by artists such as Coldplay, Radiohead, Paul McCartney and Adele).

“Ex Umbra In Lucem” will be released by LAMENTARI on May 24th. The standard edition first pressing will be released on marble vinyl. Limited editions will include a handmade wooden oxidized patina sleeve. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM Announce New Studio Offering “I Am The Weapon” & Premiere Video for Title Track

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 27, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Flotsam and Jetsam. Leave a comment

Following their 2021’s “Blood In The Water”, Veteran Arizona thrashers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have shared a first single taken off their forthcoming, 15th studio album entitled “I Am The Weapon”, that is slated for a 2024-release via AFM Records! A lyric video for the album title track is now premiering below.

More album details and pre-order options will be revealed on May 24, 2024. At the same time, a repress of the band’s 2016-album, “Flotsam And Jetsam”, will be issued as a strictly limited, Gatefold Clear 2-Vinyl!

The band comments: “We’re very excited about this new album, “I Am The Weapon.” We put a great amount of effort and thought into the music, and we can’t wait to start unleashing this metal assault on the music community…”

Their new single “I Am The Weapon” is now available on all digital providers at https://bfan.link/i-am-the-weapon-single, watch the lyric video premiering right here:

It’s been almost 40 years since FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, formed in Phoenix, Arizona released their landmark debut, “Doomsday for the Deceiver,” the only album to ever receive a 6K rating from the influential British magazine Kerrang! Bassist Jason Newsted would jump ship to Metallica while the band released the unstoppable “No Place for Disgrace” in 1988. “Cuatro” (1992), “Drift” (1995), “High” (1997), and “My God” (2001) all still rank extremely high in heavy metal circles. But it was the first part of this unofficial trilogy in 2016’s self-titled “Flotsam and Jetsam” that a certain rejuvenation and reset was clearly felt.

Fast-forward five years to a planet that was forced to its knees. While spending most of the pandemic times in a holding pattern like the rest of the world, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM made the best of a struggling situation and just let those creative juices and angst flow. What emerged was the much-acclaimed “Blood in the Water”, released in 2021 via AFM Records. Aside busy touring schedules (find all current & upcoming live dates at https://www.flotstildeath.com/tour), 2024 will see FLOTSAM AND JETSAM return with their thunderous, new studio album “I Am The Weapon”; watch out for more news and details to follow in the weeks ahead!

NOBODY Premiere ‘Perpetual Torment’ Single from Debut Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 27, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: NOBODY. Leave a comment

Following the successful announcement of their upcoming debut album, post/depressive black metal act NOBODY are back with their new single “Perpetual Torment”. No Clean Singing is hosting the song’s official premiere at THIS LOCATION.

NOBODY will release their hauntingly beautiful first full-length album, “Despair is Where My Thoughts Swim”, on May 17th 2024 via End My Life Records/Tragedy Productions.

On their debut album, NOBODY weave emotive metallic power and dream-state vulnerability, summoning a new level of melodicism through cast-iron, heartfelt songcraft. “Despair…” is a dynamic collection unashamedly brim-filled with sadness and regret.

The compositions are dark, atmospheric and emotional, and concomitantly lean towards open-minded musicality. While entrenched in metal’s doom and black metal branches, NOBODY displays a versatile, many-layered style of playing, packs different styles of vocals, and draws influence and inspiration from music outside the metal’s realm. The record incorporates acoustic guitar, piano and synth within flowing volleys of depressive black metal, weighty contemplative doom and the wide-ranging wistfulness of indie and post-punk songwriting.

The first single, “Life’s Ephemeral Tale”, is available HERE.

Tracklist:

1. Life’s Ephemeral Tale
2. Faces Pass Me in Crowded Rooms
3. In This Emptiness
4. Perpetual Torment
5. Days Drift By
6. A Silent Prayer
7. Bleeding a World Undone
8. The Path of Ashes
9. Obscurity’s Embrace
10. In the Quietus of Night
11. Myspys (Lifelover Cover)

NOBODY is a DSBM band formed by Troll and Ulver early 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio. That very same year, they released two EPs that were very well received in the underground: “Fading Into Obscurity” and “Lifeless and Still”. In 2024, Void joined the band as its new vocalist to work in their first full length “Despair is where My Thoughts Swim”.
Void
and Troll (guitars, drums) are well-known in the DSBM scene, both were former members of the band Sorry… until early 2024 and have numerous side-projects that transcend the subgenre.
Troll
says of the band: “Nobody is where echoes fade and darkness swells, souls adrift, in the void’s embrace”.

NOBODY
‘s first full-length album will be released by End My Life Records/Tragedy Productions on May 17th, 2024. The album consists of 11 songs, including a Lifelover cover performed by guest vocalist Irritum (Internal Darkness, I Fall to Ash).

For fans of: Amesoeurs, early Katatonia, Forgotten Tomb, Lifelover, Nocturnal Depression

Line-up:

Void – Vocals
Ulver – Guitars, Bass, Songwriting
Troll – Drums, Guitars, Bass, Synth/Piano, Lyrics, Songwriting
