HEARTS & HAND GRENADES Predict Desolate Wasteland in New ‘Our Darkest Night’ Music Video

Female-fronted Alternative Metal band Hearts & Hand Grenades are back with a new music video and single entitled Our Darkest Night. This is the latest release from the band since their full-length album Where I Begin which was released on January 26, 2024. The music video was directed by Cristo Cola, and the single was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jeremy Tabor at Triple Zero Music.

“This video tries to tell a story from the photograph in which the song is about.” says lead vocalist & bassist Stephanie Wlosinski. “The photo contains an image of an apocalyptic time which is the result of an ongoing war. As the story unfolds, the aftermath of the destruction becomes more and more apparent. We felt this song was a great song to tell a story based on something as simple as a photograph. By looking at it, you have to wonder what happened in the background? How did everything die? Why is this person smiling with nothing to smile about?” Guitarist Mike Bress continues, “This is our first concept video. We dipped our toes into something a bit different in that none of the band members are in the video. We try to tell the story with short cut scenes of how life would exist after everything is destroyed. By doing this, we are trying to convey that foolish wars will eventually bring on a world where a once lush earth becomes a desolate wasteland as a result. Living will be almost impossible.”

Our Darkest Night is the poignant new single by Hearts & Hand Grenades that delves deep into the emotional landscape of war and its aftermath. With profound lyricism and evocative melodies, the band paints a vivid portrait of the hidden complexities behind the catalyst for the song. Through soul-stirring lyrics and powerful instrumentation, the song captures the profound sense of isolation and despair that can accompany post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health challenges faced by those who have served. Yet, amidst the darkness, there is a glimmer of resilience and hope. The band underscores the importance of acknowledging and addressing the emotional wounds inflicted by war, while also celebrating the indomitable spirit of those who persevere despite their pain. “Our Darkest Night” serves as a stark reminder that heroes, too, are vulnerable and in need of compassion and support as they navigate the complexities of their inner battles. With “Our Darkest Night,” Hearts & Hand Grenades delivers a powerful and deeply moving musical testament to the enduring human cost of war, offering a tribute to the courage and resilience of those who bear its scars.

DRABIK Drop New Single + Video ‘Broken’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 8, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DRABIK. Leave a comment

Fast-rising Italian modern metal unit DRABIK sets the stage for a brand-new chapter in the band’s history with their new single, “Broken”, out now on all streaming services worldwide.

The track was recorded and mixed by Andrea Seveso at Street Rec Studio (CO), with artistic production involving Niels Nielsen (In Flames, Magna Carta Cartel, Dead Soul), who also handled the mastering of the song.

“Broken” is a track that addresses depression and the inevitable emotional collapse it entails. The lyrics touch on themes such as apathy and intense physical and mental fatigue, ultimately delving into bipolar disorder, depicting a real inner confrontation with one’s own depression.

The music video was crafted by a duo of directors from Verona, Francesco Cosenza and MattiaTodeschini. Dealing with such an important theme as depression, the directors metaphorically aimed to represent a dialogue with it through the visuals. Depression takes on a face and becomes a true antagonist to contend with in order to “break” that loop.

On “Broken”, DRABIK further expands and unfurls their vision for hard-to-pigeonhole modern metal.

For fans of: In Flames, Korn, Gojira

Born in 2018 and based in Verona (Italy), DRABIK was formed by Marco Micheli (Vocals), Alessandro Zambotto (Drums) and Francesco Castagna (Guitars). After having tried a couple of bass players, they’ve found a solid line up with Elia “Lona” Lonardi. In 2018/2019 DRABIK brought their music to stages around Northern Italy, playing covers and some original songs.
In 2019, the band released two singles, “Exorcizamus Te” and “Misfit”, both recorded at Mago Studio (TN) by Maurizio Fracchetti.
In 2020 they started the writing process of their first full length album, produced by Marco “Maki” Coti Zelati, founder and bass player of Lacuna Coil. The album was recorded at Ivory Tears Studios (Varese,Italy) by Andrea Seveso and Alessandro Del Vecchio in April 2021.
On September 23rd 2022 DRABIK released their debut full length “Mannequin” via Volcano Records & Promotion. The album release was followed by a European tour in 2023/2024.
