“Tomorrow People” is a track taken from DISTORTA‘s upcoming EP “A Devil In The Dust”, due for release on April 26, 2024, via Wormholedeath. The track is an apocalyptic look into the future and the need for people to fight for freedom.
Distorta’s lineup includes James Bogers and Dom Davey on guitars, Dave Prodanovic on bass, Chris Hanrahan on drums, and Dmitry Keremetskiy commanding the stage with his presence and powerful vocals. Together, they have forged a release that is especially relevant in these troubling times. “A Devil In The Dust” was recorded entirely by the band, capturing their raw energy and passion in every note. Prepare yourselves for a sonic onslaught as Distorta storms the heavy metal scene with “A Devil In The Dust.”
HEAVY TEMPLE drop a respectfully tasty nod towards doom giants CANDLEMASS with their catchy new single ‘House of Warship’, which is taken from the psychedelic fast-risers’ forthcoming sophomore full-length. “Garden of Heathens” is slated for release on April 12 via Magnetic Eye Records. Pre-order your copy at: http://lnk.spkr.media/heavy-temple-garden.
“The Candlemass influence is pretty up front on this track, but we were also thinking Flower Traveling Band meets ‘Animal Magnetism’-era Scorpions“,singer and bass player High Priestess Nighthawk reveals. “The lyrics of ‘House of Warship’ deal with being lied to or being manipulated, while pouring oneself into something or someone – and the self-loathing that comes with the realization of falling for that intentional deception.“

HEAVY TEMPLE are back. Back from touring across the United States as well as finding adventure and making new friends in Europe for the first time. Back from the rehearsal room where the making of new songs became far more of a group effort than on the debut album. And back from Animal Farm studio where John Forrestal gave the new album “Garden of Heathens” a rich and warm organic sound that is also crisp and crystalline.
Where the debut full-length “Lupi Amoris” charged forward like a roaring mastodon, “Garden of Heathens” comes across more diverse and sophisticated without losing punch or heaviness. And while the powerful vocals of frontwoman High Priestess Nighthawk provide a strong gravitational pull, HEAVY TEMPLE always remain a riff-first kind of band. Even so, the heavy-touring Philadelphia, PA trio have expanded their range to encompass an even wider breadth of rock and metal road stops, from BARONESS to THE BEATLES and BLACK SABBATH to FU MANCHU – with many crossroads in between.
Wherever HEAVY TEMPLE are heading on this diverse and dynamic record, they always stay real with both feet on the ground. Except, that is, when it comes to the lyrics. With her words, the High Priestess admits to peddling a version of things that isn’t real – with a grim smile and quite deliberately so. In fact, that’s the theme running through “Garden of Heathens” as a red thread. From the American Dream to relationships, below the surface there is anxiety, betrayal, and doubt. And while some of the lyrical metaphors might at first glance seem to focus on religion, they are definitely not that literal. Rather, these are Nighthawk’s most personal lyrics ever.
HEAVY TEMPLE came into existence on the 2012 winter solstice during a night filled with the pure enjoyment of creating and playing heavy music. Once established, they drew a steadily growing flock to local shows in Philly, and soon gladly accepted invitations to tour alongside such notables as RUBY THE HATCHET, MOTHERSHIP, ROYAL THUNDER, and CORROSION OF CONFORMITY as well as performances at notable festivals such as The Maryland Doom Fest, Psycho Las Vegas, and Decibel Metal & Beer, among many others.
Following the two EPs “Heavy Temple” (2014) and “Chassit” (2016) and a number of singles, HEAVY TEMPLE at last took a break from heavy touring to record their first full-length. “Lupi Amoris” (“Wolves of Love”) was released in 2021 to strong applause from both critics and followers alike. This album opened new doors including more festival appearances, a US tour with THE OBSESSED and their first tour of Europe with friends and labelmates HOWLING GIANT.
HEAVY TEMPLE are not just back, they are here to stay. “Garden of Heathens” gives strong testimony that the trio is pushing hard to broaden their spectrum and break through any preconceptions and obstacles in front of them. “Garden of Heathens” sheds new light and a wider perspective on heavy and desert rock, psychedelia, and doom metal. Portuguese symphonic metal band Enchantya released their third studio album Cerberus earlier last year via Finnish record label Inverse Records. To celebrate the success they’re now releasing the whole album as Orchestral version. The release date for ‘Symphony of Cerberus’ album is set to be 26th April 2024.
The first single Rising Star (Orchestral version) is released today and the music video is available below.
Arranged for Orchestra by Pedro Antunes, Fernando Matias and Fernando Barroso
Choir performed by Ana Macedo, André Nogueira, Beatriz Teixeira, Cátia Marques, Chris Santos, Frederico Gavaia, Joana Sousa, João Reis, Luís Vieira, Pedro Antunes and Tanya Martins
Violin by Miguel Berkemeier
Additional vocals by Rute Fevereiro
Pedro Antunes comments: ” “Cerberus” was EnChanTya’s most symphonic and bombastic album to date. When people’s reactions to this direction of the band were so positive and gave us the honor of receiving the Album of the Year award by the most famous Metal Magazine in our country, Caminhos Metalicos, we decided to strip the songs down to its orchestral elements and give ourselves and our listeners a sister version of them, a more classical and symphonic approach to the world we explored in “Cerberus”. It is a celebration of the album’s success and also a more experimental vision like the band has always been happy to take.
We found that “Rising Star” should be the first gateway into this new project because of its cosmic and relaxing nature, standing in contrast to the heaviness of the original song, which represents the vision for this side-album so well.
We hope that you enjoy this take on “Rising Star”, and that it entices you to check out “Symphony of Cerberus” on April 26th!”

Enchantya was born in 2004 when vocalist Rute Fevereiro took a break from her classic band Black Widows and started exploring music for a new project. In 2005, the band recorded their first EP, Moonlighting the Dreamer, out in 2006. Having witnessed a great reception, the band started to work on their first album, releasing ‘Dark Rising’ through Massacre Records in 2012 to very positive reviews. After some time touring and promoting the album, the band began composing. However, artistic and creative differences about the new music’s direction and sound would lead to the departure of members and the band split up.
Rute was alone with her project again and having to start all over. Fortunately, this did not stop Rute’s motivation and a few months later, by March of 2016, she had chosen a whole new team of talented musicians to take Enchantya through the next step. After a year of rehearsing with amazing creative chemistry, the band created “On Light and Wrath” , Enchantya’s second album. Like in their debut album, the band booked a few months of studio recordings in 2018 with Fernando Matias at the Pentagon Audio Manufacturers, to bring the new album to life with eleven tracks, entitled “On Light and Wrath” , also taking one step further by adding violin, a whole choir of singers and the guest appearance of the vocalist from D E S I R E , Nuno Caldas, creating a very refreshed and even more epic sound for the band. Finnish label Inverse Records released Enchantya’s album in 2019.
In the middle of their second album’s promo tour, the pandemic hit and the band spent the following two years composing and recording their new opus in the midst of all the chaos. The result was the band’s third album “CERBERUS”, a heavy and symphonic effort born of the songwriting through the world’s conflicted times, and also Enchantya’s most ambitious record to date. “Cerberus” was out on April 28th of 2023 to critical acclaim, considered Portugal’s best metal album of the year, and nominating Enchantya for the Adamastor Award for best portuguese bands of 2023, alongside Moonspell and Seventh Storm.
Celebrating the success of “Cerberus”, before all the awards the band was already preparing to announce “Symphony of Cerberus”, the orchestral version of their acclaimed album. Now, on April 26th 2024, marking a year after the release of “Cerberus”, Enchantya will release “Symphony of Cerberus”, consisting of the 12 original tracks revamped for orchestra and choir, allowing the symphonic parts of “Cerberus” to shine and be heard in all its glory, with a few surprises including solo violins arranged and performed by violinist and composer Miguel Berkemeier, who has been accompanying the band on live shows throughout this era’s tour.

American grindcore outfit Full of Hell will release their brand new full-length Coagulated Bliss on 26th April via Closed CasketActivities – and today they up the ante by revealing another devastating single, ‘Gasping Dust’.
The track’s viciousness might scan as misanthropy – “humanity to blame,” vocalist Dylan Walker concludes after running through the ways the earth is “riddled with sores” – but it comes from a place of disappointment that’s driven by a deep love for people and life and the world.
The track features a guest vocal appearance by Ross Dolan of Immolation, who comments: “It was a huge honor to contribute some vocals to the new Full of Hell song ‘Gasping Dust’. When Dylan and the gang reached out to me for this, I was so psyched to participate and be part of their new album since I am a huge fan and consider them one of the younger bands leading the way to bring extreme music to the next generation of fans of this genre. Immolation have been close friends and huge fans of Full of Hell since we first met and toured together in 2017, so needless to say I jumped at the opportunity to participate. The song is a short burst of controlled chaos and fury with lyrics that are dark and very relevant. I love the song and can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear it!”
Full of Hell burst forth with incredible force from the small, dagger-shaped city of Ocean City, Maryland, 15 years ago. Over five full-lengths, five collaborative full-lengths, and countless splits, EPs, singles, and noise compilations, they’ve evolved at extraordinary speed, their music becoming more complicated and technical without ever slowing down or losing its soul. Everything on a Full of Hell album feels like a blur: smears of guitar, harsh noise shaken like gravel in a bag, singer Dylan Walker’s snarl and bite carrying him into outer space or into the core of the earth. They’re coiled, interlocking, impossible to penetrate, and they move with alarming speed.
They have now reached terminal velocity. Having created their own context, they’re now able to walk around within it, to survey its terrain, to visit far corners and see who’s nearby. Their forthcoming album, Coagulated Bliss, sounds like Full of Hell, but it’s nothing like any Full of Hell record that’s come before it. These songs are trimmer, less freighted with anxiety, more interested in opening up than speeding away. Its bile is sometimes funnelled into traditional song structures. It never shies away from the extreme harsh noise, unrelenting spirit, and pitch-black sadness of previous Full of Hell records; if anything, the leanness of these songs makes them feel even heavier. Nevertheless, there are tracks here you might find yourself whistling hours after listening. It’s an extraordinary and unexpected evolution in sound for a band who made their name on rapid metamorphosis, and it’s the logical endpoint of everything Full of Hell has covered so far. “I wanted to try to take every aspect of what we’ve done from previous releases and integrate it into this one,” guitarist Spencer Hazard says.
These songs feel huge, totemic, groundshaking. Take the album’s first single, ‘Doors to Mental Agony‘— which premieres today alongside a music video directed by Erich Richter— which sets up a circle pit, then blasts it apart with a grindcore chorus, and slides away on a slanted riff.
Coagulated Bliss was written and recorded shortly after Full of Hell completed When No Birds Sang, their collaborative album with Nothing. Working with the Philadelphia shoegazers gave Full of Hell new insight into the emotional and artistic power of classic pop songwriting, and to the importance of following a song where it wants to go. “That was a good experience of learning how to find what actually services a song,”Hazard says. “Even with Roots of Earth Are Consuming My Home, even when we’ve had an extreme grindcore influence, I still wanted it to be catchy.”Walker also cites the band’s work with The Body for helping him to “recognize that there was value in pop music.” Accordingly, Coagulated Bliss features some of Full of Hell’s strongest songwriting: Gone is the frenetic flailing of Garden of Burning Apparitions and Weeping Choir; in its stead is a richer, thicker sound, one that’s considerably less ornamented—and somehow heavier than ever.
While the focus on songwriting already makesCoagulated Bliss the most grounded album in Full of Hell’s catalogue, it’s also the first Full of Hell record that tries in earnest to reflect the world around it—not in some broad, monotony-of-evil way, but the everyday horrors of life in small town America. Three of the four members of the band were raised in Ocean City. Hazard and Bland still live there, while Walker is located in central Pennsylvania and bassist Samuel DiGristine relocated to Philadelphia. “The American dream is small towns,”Hazard says. “But anyone that’s grown up in a small town realizes it’s just as f*cked up in a small town as it is in a big city—if not more, because it’s more condensed.”
Walker’s lyrics have always framed their suffering with what he calls “fantastical, metaphorical sh*t,” but on Coagulated Bliss his writing is clear and direct. The album’s title is meant partly to reflect the idea of the over-pursuit of happiness leading to misery—whether in addiction, greed, or anything else. “Your happiness is just out of reach and you don’t know why,” he says. “Too much of this bliss, you think you’ve found your endpoint, but it’s really just this small, tiny, little thing that’s going to ruin your f*cking life. And that could be anything.” The album’s viciousness and Walker’s clear reading of the world around him might scan as misanthropy, but it comes from a place of disappointment that’s driven by a deep love for people and life and the world. “There’s not a lot of anger, to be honest,” he says. “I’ve never felt anger when we’re playing, ever. It feels like electricity that’s built up in my body that has to get out. But I feel more profoundly sorrowful than I ever do anger.”
The world may be in a constant state of bitter flux, but Full of Hell have never sounded more at home in it. “We’ve shed any kind of ‘do we belong in this space, what do people expect of us,’”Walker says. “The joy is in the pursuit.” The loosening of their grip on the direction of their music has made it feel paradoxically closer to the bone. “People tend to burrow themselves so deeply into things they love,”Walker says. “It’s too much of a good thing, and it almost cheapens it.” By paring back their sound, Full of Hell aren’t just finding a new way forward: They’re proving that a little bit less of a good thing can add up to so much more.

Coagulated Bliss was recorded at Developing Nations in Baltimore by Kevin Bernstein, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio in Van Nuys California and mastered by Nick Townsend of Infrasonic Sound in Los Angeles California. Full of Hell is Spencer Hazard (guitar/electronics), David Bland (drums/vocals), Samuel DiGristine (bass/sax/vocals), and Dylan Walker (vocals/electronics/lyrics), with new guitarist Gabriel Solomon joining following the album’s completion.
Australian rock sensation Greystone Canyon released their second album “Iron & Oak” this pat March 8th on Rockshots Records. The highly anticipated full-length is the follow-up to their successful 2018 debut “While the Wheels Still Turn”. Known for their unique blend of tone, feel, and honest rock, “Iron & Oak” promises an even more captivating musical journey.
For those who haven’t had a chance to check out the sophomore offering, the band is sharing their latest music video for the track “Raging Waters”, a song that shows a different side of the band. They explain further:
“It’s kind of a Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Aerosmith track… starting with some slide and 12-string guitar and has a real classic rock feel. The song is about sitting up late at night and having conversations with those who have passed on. A kind of spiritual seance that connects us with those beyond this mortal coil. We have some guests on this track and sing some backing vocals, piano, violin, and viola.”
Since their formation in 2015-2016, Greystone Canyon has been committed to delivering a sound that is true to their passion for music. Their sophomore album, a stylistic extension of their debut, aims to capture the essence of who they are as individuals and musicians. The band hopes that fans will embrace the new offering and connect with the music on a deeper level.
Stylistically diverse, “Iron & Oak” features a range of songs, from immediate and catchy tunes to dramatic and epic compositions. The band has incorporated additional instruments, such as 12-string guitar, Hammond organ, strings, and piano, to enhance the listening experience. With a deliberate effort to provide a longer and more immersive album, Greystone Canyon moves away from instrumentals and interludes, presenting back-to-back songs.
The lyrics draw inspiration from various sources, including personal experiences, historical facts, and a shared love for the Wild West. Songs explore themes of reflection on youth, facing adversity, and choosing one’s life path. Greystone Canyon draws from life’s intricacies, weaving them into a tapestry of music that resonates with listeners.
Reflecting on the evolution of the band’s sound, Greystone Canyon consciously expanded their musical palette, the album aims to encapsulate everything the band loves about music while staying true to their passion.
With “Iron & Oak”, Greystone Canyon invites listeners to join them on a musical exploration that spans the spectrum of their influences. The band hopes that the album will connect with audiences on a profound level, offering a timeless experience that stands the test of time.

Los Angeles-based dark melodic metal outfit Witherfall are proud to present their new single “When It All Falls Away”, taken from upcoming album “Sounds Of The Forgotten” (to be released May 31st). The track is accompanied by an emotional music video, unfolding a tragic love story.
“When It All Falls Away is reflective of our deep love of 70s Rock bands”, Witherfall comment. “Back when the lines between Rock/Prog/R&B were a bit blurry. The song is a dreamy meditation on the subject of loss. Whether it be relationships or life itself the song is about the emptiness that settles in when things are at an end. The title is also a nod to the band name “WITHERFALL” which is meant to be quite literal. The song features many vintage elements such as a 12 string acoustic, Hammond Organ, Roland Chorus amps, Leslie Speakers and other various toys we had at our disposal while recording at Big Blue North.”
Previously Witherfall have already released the singles “Insidious”, “Ceremony Of Fire”, “Where Do I Begin” and “What Have You Done?”.
All singles will be included on Witherfall’s upcoming fourth studio album “Sounds Of The Forgotten”, which will arrive on May 31st, 2024 via the band’s own label DeathWave Records.
The first few select concerts in support of the record have just been announced: 07.09.2024 – (MX) Léon De Los Aldama, Candelabrum Metal Fest 11.09.2024 – (ES) Madrid, Sala Silikona (first time live in Spain!) 12.09.2024 – (ES) Pontevedra, Sala Rebullón 13.09.2024 – (DE) Püchersreuth, Storm Crusher Festival

“We found ourselves writing really depressing, melancholy songs about how just disappointed we were with all the work we put into Curse of Autumn and then going through the pandemic,” says frontman/songwriter Joseph Michael about the record. “Before that, we thought nothing was going to stop us. Then, something did. We felt a bit defeated. So, that’s how Sounds Of The Forgotten started. But we got out of that quickly. The songs we ended up writing were empowering. We have songs with negative emotions, but the overarching theme is moving forward and perseverance. That’s the epitome of Sounds Of The Forgotten.”
Many factors influenced and inspired Witherfall’s approach to “Sounds Of The Forgotten”. The album color theme conveys another side to Witherfall’s fourth-album distress. Often associated with ambition, power, and regality, the Blake Armstrong (In Flames, Megadeth, Kataklysm, Harry Potter, Wednesday) cover art provides a view into and a visual counter to the music on “Sounds Of The Forgotten”.
Witherfall was formed in Los Angeles in 2013. Joseph Michael (also of Sanctuary fame) and Jake Dreyer (ex-Iced Earth/Demons & Wizards) built their new band around drummer Adam Sagan (RIP) and accomplished bassist Anthony Crawford (Allan Holdsworth, CHON). Since then, the group have released three highly regarded albums: Nocturnes and Requiems (2017), A Prelude to Sorrow (2018), and Curse of Autumn (2021) and an ep Vintage (2019). Not one to cut corners, Witherfall enlisted famed drummer Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Steven Wilson) on Curse of Autumn, ensuring the foundations of singles “As I Lie Awake,” “The Other Side of Fear,” and “The River” were second to none. On the upcoming album, Minnemann returns to the fold with an album-only appearance, while drummer Chris Tsaganeas (Wax Owls) and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Hirschfeld (Willie Nelson) Witherfall’s newest permanent members.
Every Witherfall album is a defining moment. From the moment Nocturnes and Requiems thundered across metaldom to the group’s wine endeavors (Tempest Red Blend) with Charlie & Echo Winery, their video collaboration with Cig Neutron (Devil’s Workshop) on “The Other Side of Fear,” a beer partnership with Adroit Theory Brewing Company (Shadows Black IPA), and custom Funko Pop set, Michael and Dreyer have made Witherfall their mission. The journey to this point hasn’t been without toil and upheaval. Determination, however, is the key.
Witherfall are guitarist/songwriter Jake Dreyer, vocalist/songwriter Joseph Michael, bassist Anthony Crawford, drummer Marco Minnemann (recording only), drummer/percussionist Chris Tsaganeas, and keyboardist Gerry Hirschfeld.
DeathWave Records was created by Witherfall headmen Joseph Michael and Jake Dreyer as a vehicle for their music and other projects. Look for more exciting and trailblazing releases from DeathWave Records in the future.
