CAINITES have signed a multi-album deal with Scarlet Records.

Under the same mark of Cain and within the same universe filled by the eternal night, Cainites is the name of the melodic death metal duo oozing darkness and blood from every pore.

Two orthodox vampire priest have risen from the ashes of the Italian gothic-doom masters Motus Tenebrae: Andrea Falaschi, aka Frater Orion (Deathless Legacy), on vocals, drums and keyboards, and Daniele Ciranna, on guitar and bass.

They lurk in the shadows they have been locked in for centuries, as punishment – the shadows of the vampires. They can’t end their endless lives, but just follow the most brutal survival instinct that makes them feed on human blood.

Through their dark, gloomy melodic death metal (influenced by Insomnium, The Vision Bleak, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Tribulation and Septic Flesh), Cainites create their own mystique, portraying the curse and the mark they have to carry – that of those longing for the light they’ve been forever banned from.

The Cainites debut album is expected to be released in June by Scarlet Records.

Cainites:
Andrea Falaschi (aka Frater Orion) – vocals, drums, keyboards
Daniele Ciranna – guitar, bass

SYK Nail False Idols to ‘The Cross” on New Single

Avant-garde metal warriors SYK carve a wide path through the wilderness of conventional music on their new album. On its second single, “the Cross”, the Italian avant-garde metal warriors draw us deeper inside the cavernous intellectual labyrinth that is eartHFlesh.

Watch the hard-hitting performance video for “the Cross”:

eartHFlesh comes out May 10 on Season of Mist. Pre-order & pre-save: https://orcd.co/sykearthfleshpresave

Marked with their signature streak of rich, heavy stylistic experimentation, “the Cross” is infused by SYK‘s spirit of rebellion. The song starts by assuming the form of tightly coiled tech-death, only for the riffs to rear into a crushing, distorted groove. “I reject your holy ornaments”, Stefano Ferrian growls before blackened melodic tremors and a concussive wave of blast beats bring the band to a deadly but melodic conclusion.

“‘the Cross’ is a symbol of transformation”, Stefano says. “Everything that was sublime in order to achieve a new mental universe”.

The video for “the Cross” peels back the song’s churning layers of production to reveal the beating heart of its creation – the band, in their most elemental form, locked into a chaotic but liberating rhythm. Here, within the flickering shadows and stark light, the raw, unadulterated essence of SYK’s rebellion is laid bare.

“This song is about leaving all the cancerous concepts we accepted and ingested from society in order to create something better for each creature existing on earth”, Stefano continues. “Violence is for criminals and perverted minds. Organized violence is for Nations led by criminals.

“The rage that’s put into “the Cross” is directed at all those leaders that are steering us to a quick destruction. Not just for ourselves, but also for all those creatures that has nothing to do with our unstableness.”

SYK is a metal band that came into existence in 2013 when Stefano Ferrian and Federico De Bernardi di Valserra decided to embark on a new musical venture following the disbandment of their previous project, .psychofagist. They were soon joined by the immensely talented vocalist Dalila Kayros, whose vocal skills left a deep impression on the band during live performances.

In May 2014, syk released their debut album titled Atoma through L’Inphantile Collective. The album caught the attention of Philip H Anselmo from Housecore Records, who not only expressed his appreciation for the band’s work but also offered them a deal for their second album. This second album, titled I-Optikon, was released on December 2, 2016, and was produced by Philip H Anselmo himself. The album was notable for its technical compositions that offered a unique and unparalleled listening experience, as Metal Trenches aptly described it.

Following the release of their second album, the band welcomed their long-time friend Marcello Cravini as a permanent member, taking on the role of the second guitarist. syk subsequently embarked on extensive tours across Europe in 2017 and 2018 and had the honour of being the official support act for GODFLESH during their Italian/Slovenian run in May 2018. Additionally, they also participated in the prestigious Roadburn Festival in the same year, further cementing their reputation as a promising metal act.

In 2019, Federico made the difficult decision to leave the band due to personal reasons, and shortly after, the global pandemic hit, disrupting the band’s search for a new drummer. However, towards the end of 2020, Mauro Maraldo joined syk as their new drummer, and with their lineup complete, they wasted no time in entering the studio to record their third album. This album, titled Pyramiden, was released on March 11th, 2022, through Housecore Records/Nuclear Blast. The album’s distinct and powerful character earned syk high praise, with MetalheadCommunity recognizing them as one of the most promising metal acts of the time.

Pyramiden received further acclaim when it was included in the ProgSpace Awards 2022 under the category of ‘Album of the Year 2022/Extreme Prog Category’, alongside esteemed acts like Fallujah, Allegaeon, Cult of Luna, and Conjurer. Unfortunately, soon after the album’s release, both Mauro and Dalila had to depart from the band due to personal reasons.

However, syk, known for their sonic evolution, decided to press on. Founding members Stefano and Marcello continued working on their fourth album while actively searching for new members. Alan La Roca joined the band as the bass player, solidifying the lineup, but the search for a drummer remained a challenge. It wasn’t until Federico Leone answered their call that the band found their new drummer. With the lineup in place consisting of Stefano Ferrian as the new frontman, guitarist, and main songwriter, Marcello Cravini on guitars, Alan La Roca on bass, and Federico Leone on drums, syk took on a new form.

In early 2023, syk caught the attention of Season Of Mist, who signed them for the release of their fourth album, eartHFlesh. This album not only marks the band’s latest offering but also signifies their first decade as a band. With a reinvigorated sound and an intensified sonic progression, syk continues to captivate listeners and solidify their place in the metal scene.

The wait is over! GENTLE SAVAGE have released their long-awaited brand new single + Lyric Video ‘Fuel My Fire’ today, March 27th! Furthermore, the band reveals their next future plans!

Stream and buy ‘Fuel My Fire’ at

Watch the lyric video here:

Songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Tornado Bearstone on ‘Fuel My Fire’:

“During the rehearsals of “Fuel My Fire”, it quickly became obvious that this would be the first single from the upcoming album, as the band’s energy levels soared when they played it. The song combines classic rock and rumbling, modern alternative tunings. The message of the song is simple and known to all who have ever been in love – Come and light my heart or I’ll forever be unhappy.
The chorus is brief and intense, but the song has more layers to discover. Caught up in longing, the narrator calls their beloved back, wondering if time apart has clouded their mind. Yet, despite the uncertainty, love’s power prevails.
Fuel My Fire was born as a result of experimenting with alternative tunings. Written by Saku Kallinen, also known as Tornado Bearstone, the lyrics and especially the rhythm of the chorus surged like a mighty roar, demanding to be heard: C’MON FUEL MY FIREEEE!”

Fuel My Fire starts a new exciting journey on the bands path. During 2024 there will be two more single releases and the new line-up puts its full effort to release the second full length album in 2025.
Half of the songs are already recorded so everything looks good and the band can’t wait to share the new music with its fans.”

Tornado adds:
“We feel better than ever. Our songs and arrangements feel smooth and tight when we play and the band is really grooving. We are proud of what we’ve done before but now we are raising the bar for ourselves. Our debut album Midnight Waylay has some special magic about it and it will forever hold that position. But you live, you learn. That is why I feel safe to say we sound better than ever “.

Just recently Tornado Bearstone revealed the story behind the track:

“LET’S GET HEATED!
Sitting at home ‘couch jamming’ songwriter Tornado Bearstone was experimenting with an alternate tuned guitar. The main riff and especially the rhythm of the chorus kinda shouted out; ‘C’MON, FUEL MY FIRE!’.
In a situation like this there was no other choice but to write a song around that phrase. After that first phrase the song pretty much wrote itself causing infectious rise of spirits when played for the first time at the band rehearsals.”

Here’s the chorus:
“C’mon, fuel my fire. Get yourself some rock’n roll!
C’mon, breathe desire. More, more, more…”

Tornado continues:
“The chorus sums it up and on a certain level tells the whole story in a few sentences. But the full narrative is a bit deeper. It seems like the teller has fallen in love and is inviting the loved one to join on a mission to heat things up.
Could it also be that there’s been some time spent apart and that’s causing a little bit of confusion in the tellers mind…? For better or worse we all do know what mental and/or physical Love can do. It heats you up. Period.”

With a title like ’Fuel My Fire’ what can you expect from a Rock tune? In this case you’ll get a tight and melodic firecracker for Rock and Metal enthusiasts. With a touch of Classic Rock mixed with a modern metallish sound of alternate tuned guitars this Hard Rock tune was the obvious choice to introduce the new line-up in it’s full power and blaze.

The cover art was sketched by vocalist Tornado Bearstone and created by his trusted graphic artist Vin Valentino. There was a lot of emotion put into that one single picture. And that is exactly what the band was looking for; a continuum of what’s been released before, now with even more power and emotion in it. New music and the cover art reflects the band’s state of mind; a well self-esteemed group of musicians writing and performing music straight from the heart.

Inside the band the new members positive energy combined with old members’ strong attitude makes everything feel solid, easy and flowing.

More news coming soon!!

GENTLE SAVAGE line-up:
Tornado Bearstone – vocals, rhythm guitar
Jay B. – drums, backing vocals
Ben Zummerbender – guitar, backing vocals
Larry Welder – bass, backing vocals

Former Keyboardist Theo van Boom stays with the band as an additional musician taking part in future recordings and festival gigs.

In the meantime, Gentle Savage have been playing shows in their homeland and are currently looking for opportunities to tour in Europe.

SOULLINE Premiere New Video Single ‘Say Goodbye’ from Upcoming Album

Swiss melodic death metal unit, SOULLINE, is currently gearing up for the release of their new studio offering, entitled “Reflections”, due out on May 17, 2024 through Massacre Records. Coming as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, the album pre-sale is available at https://lnk.to/soullinereflections

Following the previously-released, first track “Look At The Stars”, today, SOULLINE have shared a music video for their latest single “Say Goodbye”, out now on all digital streamiong providers via https://soulline.bfan.link/saygoodbye

The band comments: “Say Goodbye is not merely a song; it’s a critique wrapped in a melodic but violent embrace, aiming to dissect the fleeting nature of success and the often superficial allure of appearances. Lore envisioned this track as a forceful fusion, aspiring to capture the raw energy of Vader blended seamlessly with the melancholic melodies of Evergrey, and a little bit of Bury Tomorrow, crafting a sound that strikes a balance between ferocity and harmony.

The song emerges as a powerful exhortation to look beyond the ephemeral glitters of success and to question the stability of the pedestals we build for ourselves and others. Through its potent combination of melody and message, the song invites listeners to engage in a deeper exploration of identity, value, and the transient nature of fame in our times.“

SOULLINE’s “Reflections” is as a powerful exploration of environmental issues and our connection to planet Earth. Each track reflects a specific aspect of this often troubled and problematic relationship.

On this album, collaboration and teamwork led to greater complexity in musical structures and arrangements. Clean vocals, interwoven with Gabriele’s signature growl, emphasize the album’s central theme, creating an intense and engaging atmosphere.

This album goes beyond mere musical listening, transforming into a sensory experience. SOULLINE presents a masterpiece that combines music and images to stir deep emotions and stimulate concrete actions. The environmental message, expressed through the power of metal music, makes “Reflections” a work not only of music but also of cultural activism. The goal is to bring “Reflections” to a wide and diverse audience, hoping that the album’s message will find echoes in the minds and hearts of listeners, stimulating greater environmental awareness and positive change.

Scottish Prog Post-Metal Alchemists DVNE Unveil ‘Abode of the Perfect Soul’ Single

Scottish progressive post-metal alchemists DVNE today unveil their monolithic new single, “Abode Of The Perfect Soul.” The track comes off of the band’s forthcoming new full-length, Voidkind, set for release on April 19th via Metal Blade Records.

Voidkind succeeds in finding new modes of expression for DVNE. The songs are more pointed, direct, and memorable, but the soundscape still has a radiant, evolving, hypnotic flow, the effect achieved with fewer layers of sonic ornamentation, consciously urging closer to DVNE‘s incendiary live sound. And despite the addition of a full-time keyboardist, Vicart has no doubt about the album’s defining feature, “We wanted very distinct left and right guitars, and punchier drums and bass, which would transcribe better live. And the synths needed to be clearer; it’s very easy to put five guitars on each side, loads of different vocals and keys, but then you end up watching a band with an album you really like, and the songs sound nothing like the record. That’s what we wanted to avoid. As soon as the song starts, we want people to immediately recognise the riff.“

Stream DVNE‘s “Abode Of The Perfect Soul” at THIS LOCATION.

Watch DVNE‘s previously released video for “Plerõma” at THIS LOCATION.

Thematically, Voidkind carries on with the band’s overarching narrative which traces a religious group through the generation line from the beginning to its end while the record’s stunning artwork depicts the main motif of this chapter, namely, “a godlike entity seducing and luring followers through their dreams and these followers’ multigenerational journey to reach their god dimension. We wanted to have these kinds of visuals and aesthetics on this album. Even without the vocals we wanted to evoke something, different places and spaces, and take the listener on a journey.“

While first single, “Plerõma,” serves as a key moment of the album narrative where religious followers are consuming the essence of their deity and reach a new sense of awakened existence – the essential first step in their transformation – latest single, “Abode Of The Perfect Soul,” furthers the conversion.

Comments Vicart, “‘Abode Of The Perfect Soul’ touches on another step in the transformation of the disciples and their crossing to their deities’ realm, which leads them to both their death and their rebirth. It is probably one of the heavier tracks on the album, yet it is one of the most multifaceted songs we have ever written with many changes of scenes and vibes. We feel it crystallizes where DVNE is musically right now.“

DVNE blasts away the portal with “Abode Of The Perfect Soul,” pushing you into emerald spirals of dread, awe, and wonder. Heaviness and captivating riffs entwined with layers upon layers of luscious melodic lines, this is DVNE now.

Voidkind was recorded between September and November 2023 in Edinburgh at Craigiehall Temple and Byres Farm in Scotland and features the stunning artwork of Felix Abel Klaer.

Formed in Edinburgh in 2013 by Frenchman Victor Vicart and native Scot Dudley Tait, progressive post-metal/sludge artisans DVNE have been building a powerful head of steam since their second album, 2021’s kaleidoscopically mesmerizing Etemen Ænka. Their first release for the legendary Metal Blade Records label, the LP was a concerted hike up the greasy pole for this enigmatic outfit. Lauded Metal Injection, “This outfit is all about slower heaviness akin to The Ocean or Isis Like both of those bands there is also loads of atmosphere to get lost in. This is a stellar post-metal album, but labeling it as such doesn’t begin to describe it.” No Clean Singing concurred noting, “Imagine, if you will, a fusion of Crack The Skye-era Mastodon and Dwellings-period Cormorant, with perhaps a dash of Isis/Neurosis thrown in for good measure.” Added MetalSucks, “(David) Lynch’s ornate vision of the world matches the clockwork precision of DVNE’s technical post/prog metal mastery. He who controls the spice controls the universe, and right now these Scots have it firmly in their grasp.” The record ultimately enabled DVNE to embark on UK and European headlining tours and win spots at such discerning festivals as Hellfest, ArcTanGent, Desertfest, Damnation, and Resurrection. A live EP of reimagined album tunes, 2022’s Cycles Of Asphodel, kept up their profile while satiating demand from a rapidly mushrooming fanbase, and now in 2024, stunning third album Voidkind looks set to propel this expanded five-piece line-up (welcoming Maxime Keller on keyboards) to the top of their game.

Following the release of Voidkind, DVNE will embark on a European Spring tour which includes shows with Sleemo, Conjurer, and My Diligence on select dates. See all confirmed dates below.
