Finnish juggernaut of melodic death metallers, HAGALAS, have released their first single from the upcoming album “Mentes Reae.” The track is titled “Domesticated Violence”.
The “Mentes Reae” album was recorded during 2023 and will be released as a physical edition on May 31, 2024, through Inverse Records. As for streaming platforms, the album will be gradually available in its entirety starting from early autumn 2024. The album’s theme revolves around mental health and its complex facets, and it goes without saying that this theme is more relevant now than ever before. Alongside the band, Samuli Raappana (Tuuliajo) participated in the recordings and mixing, while Tony Lindgren (Fascination Street Studios) handled the mastering.
The choice of the first single release aligns perfectly with the album’s theme. As its name suggests, it addresses domestic violence and the resulting trauma, questioning how much an individual can endure before something irreversible happens?
The song is available on streaming platforms, and a lyric video has been created, which can be viewed on Inverse Records’ and the band’s channels.
After announcing that their new album will be released on May 24th, today the Italian metal band NEURASTY releases, through Volcano Records & Promotion, the track “Cruel Instinct.” It’s a powerful and jarring journey into the deepest spirit of humanity, where manipulation and control subjugate with violence – a perfect metaphor for the modernity that Neurasty offers us in the almost five minutes of the song.
“Cruel Instinct” is available on all streaming platforms and on YouTube, accompanied by a lyric video that enhances the vocal interplay of clean yet aggressive lines from vocalist Viviana Schirone, intertwining with the sharp screams of guitarist-vocalist Gabriele Vellucci. All of this is well supported by a rhythmic section that never misses a beat, showcasing the experience and skills of the well-known Silvio Assaiante (Daemonia & Claudio Simonetti) and David Folchitto (Fleshgod Apocalypse).

NEURASTY is a female-fronted metal band that has already gained a certain notoriety and respect in the Italian underground scene through intense concerts and meticulously crafted shows. But now, the group is ready to take the leap by releasing their first full-length album titled “Identity Collapse”.
“Identity Collapse” aims to be, according to the band’s intentions, a sonic journey into the deepest psychological and somatic consequences of trauma on individuals, a highly topical theme that imbues the debut album of a promising band with significant meaning and value. In the coming weeks, there will be further previews. For now, here are the titles of the eight tracks contained in the album.
Last year CREST found it’s lead singer Jessie Salmi and since then the band has been busy writing new material and the first taste of the new music was introduced last November when the first single “Stigma” came out. Now to be released second single “Onyx” takes the listener to more darker waters and showcases a more heavier and darker tone of the band. Onyx is released in cooperation with Inverse Records and it’s available on most streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/crest-onyx
“Onyx tells the story of a real life parasite that has affected me through my life, my relationships and various other situations. When this ‘parasite’ finally got a name in -23, I then saw my life completely in a different light. I decided I won’t let this parasite control me, I am going to control it.” -Jessica Salmi (Vocalist)
“First version of the song kind of wrote itself in one session. The demo was already recorded and the vocal arrangements were next in line, when i got an idea to change the structure completely. Now in the final version the chorus and the breakdown are playing a bigger role and this emphasizes the lyrical aspect of the song more. Now it feels like a journey that grips you from the beginning to the end.” –Tero Loponen (guitarist).

An epic, atmospheric, melodic and melancholic doom/gothic metal tune – the second single and the new video being the title track from Danish BLAZING ETERNITY’s upcoming comeback album. One of Denmark’s pioneer bands within the melodic doom/goth metal genre. A song about death, loss, and mourning – accompanied by weeping guitar riffs, heavy drums and raw vocals, topped with a grandiose ending.
Join the premiering below!
The Danish doom/gothic metal combo Blazing Eternity is back with a new album. “A Certain End Of Everything” – to be released on April 19th, 2024 – is the first new album since 2003 from one of Denmark’s pioneer bands within the melodic doom/goth metal genre.
“A Certain End Of Everything” consists of seven new tracks, including the already released first single “One Thousand Lights”. The music has the well-known Blazing Eternity atmosphere and fingerprint – a melancholic, epic and atmospheric doom/gothic metal mix with weeping guitars and harsh vocals. The album is bleak and melancholic, but with a certain beauty shining in the darkness – and with very personal lyrics dealing with death, depression, and personal tragedies. But with a gleam of hope in the end…
Will appeal to fans of early Katatonia, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost.
“A Certain End Of Everything” was written and arranged by original members Peter Mesnickow, Morten Kroll Lybecker and Lars Riis Korsholm – with additional synth arrangements by Flemming Kaspersen from electronic act Delayscape.
Blazing Eternity was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1993 and released two successful demo tapes in 1996 and 1998 leading to a deal with German Prophecy Productions. This resulted in the two albums ”Times And Unknown Waters” (2000) and ”A World To Drown In” (2003) as well as performances on big festivals such as Roskilde Festival and Wave Gotik Treffen.
After 2004, the band was not active anymore – until 2011/2012 when Blazing Eternity reformed for four concerts in Denmark and Germany.
After this, the band went into hiatus but secretly started working on new material in 2018. But with big challenges in the process. First the death of vocalist Peter Mesnickow’s long-time wife Lilja, and secondly the death of Blazing Eternity live-keyboardist Jens Hansen. Two events that have affected the new songs a lot – but at the end leading to the brand-new album “A Certain End Of Everything”. to be released in April 2024.
Recorded with Jacob Gundel (Withering Surface, Invocator etc). Mixed and mastered by Markus Stock Schwadorf (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Alcest, etc), who also produced the first two albums by Blazing Eternity.
Blazing Eternity is confirmed for Metal Magic Festival (DK) and Næstved Metal Fest (DK) in 2024, but more live performances will be announced later.
“I absolutely loved to mix and master this album of my old friends Blazing Eternity. Not just because of reasons of nostalgia but because it is an absolutely beautiful and soulful album that lives in the past and the here and now“ Markus Stock Schwadorf.
“A Certain End Of Everything” will be released on LP (black vinyl), digipack CD and digital formats on April 19th, 2024 via Mighty Music.
Lineup: Peter Mesnickow – vocals Morten Kroll Lybecker – guitars, bass, synths Lars Riis Korsholm – drums
Additional live members: Kim Larsen – guitars Magnus Ringling – bass Anders Ro Nielsen – keyboards
Just in time for the release of their upcoming EP, Voyage of the Dead Marauder, pirate parties are raging around the world with ALESTORM’s new, infectious single “Uzbekistan”, out now alongside an official music video. The new EP, Voyage of the Dead Marauder, drops this Friday, March 22, 2024 via Napalm Records.
The crew sails forth with “Uzbekistan”, showcasing a classic pirate metal anthem featuring a synth-laden party breakdown full of intense screams while teaching geography to the greatest historians about the famous pirate-sea-land of Uzbekistan.
This EP succeeds the band’s chart-topping previous album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which debuted at #7 on the German album charts and #5 on both the US Current Hard Music and Top New Artist Albums charts upon release, as well as six further humorous masterpieces. After a successful UK and Ireland tour supported by Korpiklaani and label mates Heidevolk, and a long crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, they are currently headlining venues in North America!
Chris Bowes comments: “Oh wow! We’ve decided it is our life goal to become the biggest band in Uzbekistan, so we wrote this wee song about the place. I trust it is 100% historically accurate.”
The EP breaks loose with the epic title track Voyage of the Dead Marauder – an accelerating anthem featuring an appearance from returning guest favorite Patty Gurdy, giving the track some extra spice with a hurdy-gurdy performance and captivating vocals. “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” will transform any gathering into a packed pirate pub with its jolly flute melody, conveying a freeing, energetic mood, before “Sea Shanty 2” uplifts with an instrumental interlude. But don’t fret – listeners who clamor for the band’s most raucous anthems will have their needs met, as closing track “Cock” fully balances out the EP’s more serious tracks with its delightfully foul lyrics. Get on board landlubbers, and embark with your favorite pirate crew on this seaworthy adventure!

Legendary UK all-female rock band Girlschool have issued the following statement:
Why this REALLY is the FINAL Girlschool USA tour!
Hi everyone!
Our Final USA tour starts today in Houston at the wonderful Hell’s Heroes Festival,
We hope to have some Westcoast only dates to add later in the year (as a “Part two leg”), but other than that, this is 100% it… We have made every effort to reach as many markets in the Eastern half of North America as we can.
The cost of visas, flights, internal transport costs, the logistics… and the distance between the cities means that this truly is a “Once more for the American fans” series of dates… in order to say goodbye.
With us to celebrate this tour we have the fantastic Alcatrazz and Lillian Axe.
The hoops to jump through for a UK band to tour the States are multiple and enormous.
So even if you have to travel a little to make it to a show, we’d be happy to see you there, one last time!
Cheers you lot! Girlschool
