JASMENO was founded in the autumn of 2017 by Sławomir Nietupski, who is responsible for keyboards, synthesizers and programming. The project’s discography includes three releases: “Jasmeno” (2020), “Elixir” (2021) and EP “Lucid Horizon” (2022). Its music combines elements of progressive rock with melodic electronica inspired by the sounds of the 1970s and 1980s.
After an absence of nearly four years, JASMENO returns with “Assemblage of Cinematic Idioms”, an album that marks a significant shift in the project’s artistic direction. The material has a distinctly cinematic character and is built around the sound of a virtual symphony orchestra. Its concept was inspired by the work of Władysław Hasior, who created multilayered compositions from seemingly incompatible fragments of reality. New album features six elaborate compositions with a total running time of nearly 50 minutes. Based on lyrics by poet Izabela Turska-Kamrowska, the songs explore everyday doubts and emotions, feelings of separation and alienation, as well as the search for faith and joy in everyday life.
The album’s instrumental foundation is co-created by guitarist Michał Grall of Unblessed Divine, formerly of Sinister, and bassist Artur Ołkowicz, known from Mechanism and Art of Illusion. Brian Gawaski’s powerful vocals also play an essential role in defining the character of the material. The album features numerous guest artists from such great bands: Patriarkh, Morgoth, Thorns, DHG/Dødheimsgard, Armagedon, Yattering, Millenium, as well as Lecia Louise, Sasha Janowicz, Joanna Zondłowska, Łukasz Kowalski, Tomasz Andrzejewski and Robert Kołakowski.
The album was mixed and mastered by Jakub Mańkowski, whose credits include collaborations with Czesław Mozil, Justyna Steczkowska, Me and That Man and Blindead. Project founder Sławomir Nietupski was responsible for the graphic design, album layout and hand-painted watercolour illustrations.

Much like TEMIC’s first full-length statement, Ceiba can be traced back to theories around our own mortality. In Mayan culture, the titular tree is considered sacred for its connection to the earth, heaven and the underworld. As depicted by its lush cover art, the album hits like a bolt of lighting with the first of many earthshaking revelations. Heavy with loss and without any foreseeable hope on the horizon, “Ashes” rains down one thunderous riff after another, only for the dark clouds to lift like a veil amidst its rousing chorus.
Like a root, loss has a deep hold over Ceiba. “Casting Stone” turns a hopeful relationship contentious with a fiery volley between djent, hard rock and electronics. “Broken” mourns the end of a codependent relationship, accompanied by little more than ghostly synths. But whether figurative or literal, the album treats loss not as an end but as one more stop along life’s path. “The blood will testify: Your soul will never die”, assures lead single “Ceased To Be”, which crosses the threshold between prog’s technical sorcery and divine melodies.
No matter how deep Ceiba digs into philosophical soil, TEMIC continue to branch out in all directions. Supported by swaying leads, towering cleans and firm groove, the album’s 10-minute closer “As Long As We Last” will stay with you long after its final epic solo.

Long before they appeared like a dream come true to prog fans around the world in 2023, already, the members of TEMIC had made a real name for themselves. Having topped charts in the Netherlands and reaching #15 on the iTunes Worldwide Metal chart, their full-length debut certainly lived up to the hype. But they’ve grown by leaps and bounds on Ceiba, their mighty and magical second album.

The concept behind TEMIC started in 2017, when keyboardist Diego Tejeida and guitarist Eric Gillette were both touring members of Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress. After proving to be a quick fit on stage, the two decided to start their own band together. “We wanted to make music that prided itself on emotion, not just because it’s technically difficult to play”, Tejeida says. As for what the band would sound like, combining their love for heavy riffs, heavenly pop hooks and high-energy electronic music into a hard-hitting prog-metal hybrid wasn’t so simple. But after recruiting former soccer prodigy-turned-Zildjian-endorsed drummer Simen Sandnes to go along with Norwegian Idol contestant and powerhouse vocalist Fredrik Klemp, TEMIC put all the pieces together on their very first try.

“Prog can be too concerned with being clever, but ‘Broken’ is just an honest song”, Tejeida says. “The song pretty much has stayed the same since we wrote it: raw and to the point”.

We’ve explored a deeper, darker landscape. Both in our tuning and in my vocal delivery, showcasing our collective growth and individual maturity to bring a fresh, unique edge to our sound. On this song in particular, I worked intimately with my lower register, weaving together delicate nuances, raw grit, and powerful belting. Filming the music video was an unforgettable, deeply moving experience. As I walked alone across the barren landscape near Groom Lake, I was entirely consumed by the desert’s quiet majesty. With both the sun and the moon sharing the sky at the same time, I got goosebumps over and over again. A rare, magical moment of solitude in the middle of nowhere. Life often brings seasons of isolation and loneliness, but it is precisely in that aloneness that we discover our true resilience. Darkness isn’t just where demons hide; it’s where we forge our strength. Like a seed sprouting beneath the surface, invisible to the naked eye, we grow most when we accept that we don’t have all the answers and that’s the whole point. Yngwie Malmsteen reveals the stunning instrumental composition ‘Beyond Zeta Reticuli’, taken from his forthcoming album Hell Or High Water, which is to be released 13 November via Music Theories Recordings / Artone Label Group. Watch Malmsteen in action in the live video HERE. The breathtaking ‘Beyond Zeta Reticuli’ is uniquely Yngwie Malmsteen. Showcasing his exceptional virtuosic vision and fretboard fireworks. Zeta Reticuli is a wide binary star system located about 39.3 light-years from Earth in the southern constellation of Reticulum. The system is famous in science fiction as the home of LV-426 and LV-223, the fictional moons featured in films like Alien and Prometheus. However, its connection with extraterrestrials goes back to the famous Betty and Barney Hill UFO abduction case from the 1960s. The song came out of his interest in alien life forms. The Swedish maestro is a card-carrying believer in that regard, and he’s done his due diligence. “I’ve always loved big, heavy themes, with strong melodies and ornamental counterpoints. This composition entails all of these things that intrigue me. Enjoy,” he says.
When we think of the greatest guitar players of all time, specifically the crème de la crème musicians who invented a whole new style and sound on the instrument, Yngwie J. Malmsteen is a name that sits comfortably alongside game-changers like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Edward Van Halen.
The nine tracks that make up his latest triumph were crafted meticulously and purposefully, away from the distractions that stall the creative process in the modern age. This is something he first tried with 2021’s Parabellum – mainly because of the state of the world at that time – and the results were so strong that he decided to stick with this as his modus operandi moving forward.
