New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is proud to announce George A. Romero’s ‘Dawn of the Dead’ will be celebrating the 45th Anniversary of its North American debut with a blow-out celebration event! The definitive zombie classic returns to both Theatres and Drive-Ins for screenings across the U.S. and Canada from April-May, 2024, with very special official anniversary collectables coming from FRIGHT-RAGS and ISH! The previously announced big-screen return has updated and revised the listings, which can be found at THIS LOCATION.

The North American gala premiere of ‘Dawn of the Dead’ took place on April 12, 1979 at the Gateway Theatre in downtown Pittsburgh. The film began the official U.S. theatrical launch the following day, eventually rolling out across the country. To honor this special milestone, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is making the movie available again in theatres & drive-ins for coast-to-coast screenings starting April 12, 2024 and running through to the end of May! The 2-D trailer can be found HERE.

Hitting over 90 screens across North America, Independent Theatres and Drive-Ins have joined the celebration. While some will only host one exclusive screening event, others will have multiple showings throughout April and May.

With special assistance from United Drive-In Theatre Owners Association, for the first time in decades, many fans will be able to watch ‘Dawn of the Dead’ under the stars at several ozoners like the classic Midway Drive-In in Sterling, IL, and at a special Exhumed Films event at the world famous Mahoning Drive-In in Lehighton, PA!

The mighty Alamo Drafthouse will be fulfilling thousands of audience requests by unleashing it into 34 of their cinemas across the country and die-hard fans will finally be able to again watch the movie in its premiere city of Pittsburgh, this time at the Row House Theatre!  The film will be screened all across North America in historical venues including places like the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA, where the original version of ‘The Blob’ was filmed in 1958!

Meanwhile, The Music Box Theatre in Chicago will present special single showings of both the 2-D and 3-D editions later in May! Stereoscopic fans will also be able to catch it in 3-D at the Galleria Mall in St. Louis, MO, where hopefully they won’t have to hunker down to survive a zombie apocalypse! St. Louis is not the only city that is taking the film back to its primary setting; through special arrangement, Cinemark Theatres will be exclusively presenting ‘Dawn of the Dead’ for One-Night-Only on Friday April 12th…at the MONROEVILLE MALL!

There’s no more room in Hell and the Dead are finally returning…to Canada!

It’s going to be a zombie-rollicking good time across the States, and Canada need not worry!

For horror fans up North, decades worth of scary prayers are about to be answered with big screen showings of the original theatrical edition, Romero’s official final Director’s Cut, at Independent Canadian Movie Houses and Festivals in 2-D as it first played in 1979. Plus, over 15 years after producer Richard P. Rubinstein first announced it was happening, on April 12th, the genuinely excellent 3-D conversion of George A. Romero’s ‘Dawn of the Dead’ will finally make its Canadian premier at the Cinéma Du Parc Theatre in Montreal!

That’s not all as no party is complete without party favors! For this celebration, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is joining forces with the highly respected fan favorites FRIGHT-RAGS and Justin Ishmael / ISH to create special edition 45th Anniversary ‘Dawn of the Dead’ collectables! On March 12th, ISH will be releasing the absolutely beautiful, official 45th Anniversary artwork they commissioned from the amazingly talented artist Paul Mann in a limited edition hand screen-printed poster on their website at: www.justinishmael.com

Also on March 12th, FRIGHT-RAGS will be offering an official 45th Anniversary Trading Card Set along with two 45th Anniversary T-Shirts, with the first featuring Paul Mann’s superb artwork (commissioned by ISH) and the second being a beautiful reproduction of the original vintage Dawn of the Dead Cast & Crew production shirt! Fans will be able to find the cards and shirts on FRIGHT-RAGS’ site here: www.fright-rags.com

DAWN OF THE DEAD in Theatres, at Drive-Ins, on Posters, Trading Cards & T-Shirts?! Romero’s zombies are rising again for a great 45th Anniversary Party to remember!

ARMORED SAINT‘s most recent studio album, Punching The Sky, was released in 2020. The critically lauded full-length hit worldwide record charts including #4 on Billboard’s Current Hard Music Albums chart, #6 on the Top New Artists chart, #16 on the Top Independent Albums chart, and #17 on the Current Rock Albums chart upon its first week of release.

A diverse, attitude-drenched collection, the record offers everything the band’s faithful have come to expect from them while pushing their signature sound forward. Exploding to life with the crunchy, rousing “Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants” and not letting up until the closing ruthless riff of “Never You Fret,” the record is possessed of an urgency and vigor which very much places it in the right now, but could only be the work of bassist Joey Vera, guitarists Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan, drummer Gonzo Sandoval, and vocalist John Bush. The record also features a few guest musicians further expanding its sonic palette, the whole thing kicking off with the sound of Uilleann Pipes, Vera finding player Patrick D’Arcy in Los Angeles and recruiting him to the cause. Guns ‘N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed also contributes, Vera giving both him and D’Arcy some general directions and letting them loose, both of them delivering strong performances. The band’s own Gonzo Sandoval plays an American Indian flute on “Never You Fret” – a first for ARMORED SAINT and their drummer. Also Jacob Ayala, the son of a childhood friend who is a drum major in high school, added some marching snare on one of the tracks, which really stands out.

UFOMAMMUT Announce New Album “Hidden”, Reveal Details + Animated Video for ‘Leeched’

Italian psychedelic doom metal trio UFOMAMMUT celebrates their 25th Anniversary in 2024 including the release of their massive tenth studio full-length, Hidden. Today, the band confirms the album for May release on Neurot Recordings/Supernatural Cat Records, unveiling the cover art, track listing, preorders, and an animated video for the song “Leeched.”

With the lead single, Poia (guitars, effects) writes, “‘Leeched,’ the first song from the new full-length album Hidden, perfectly represents the new direction of UFOMAMMUT, which began with the album Fenice and continued with the EP Crookhead and reiterates once again that there are no failures or hesitations in our sonic research. The fusion between heaviness and psychedelia, an obsession of the band since the beginning, takes on a new, changing form in ‘Leeched.’”

Watch the metamorphosis of UFOMAMMUT’s “Leeched” transpire via a captivating Malleus-animated video right here, the song is now available on all digital providers:

Rising from the ashes of their prior band Judy Corda, UFOMAMMUT formed in the late 1990s by Poia and Urlo (bass, vocals, effects, synths), together with Vita (drums). With Levre taking over on drums in 2021, the band has undergone a rebirth, culminating in the release of the 2022-released Fenice LP, and on Halloween 2023, the Crookhead EP.

Over the course of two-and-a-half decades, UFOMAMMUT has developed a unique sound that combines heavy, dynamic riff worship with a deep understanding of psychedelic tradition in music, which has resulted in a cosmic, futuristic, and technicolor sound that fully immerses listeners. They’ve produced a wide spectrum of albums, EPs, live albums, a box set, compilation tracks, and covers – including a track on the Superunknown Redux Soundgarden tribute album.

Now, in 2024, as they celebrate their quarter-century milestone, UFOMAMMUT is set to release their tenth LP, Hidden. This album marks a shift in the band’s musical composition, aiming for a more intense and heavy sound, as they have displayed over the prior two releases. The title, Hidden, reflects the concept of the presence of everything in our existence and the ability to bring to light what lies within us. With Hidden, the band delves into a sonic journey that traverses vast expanses of space and time. From the crushing heaviness to the hauntingly melodies, from the textured compositions to the otherworldly atmospheres, Hidden testifies to the never-ending evolution of UFOMAMMUT and their mastery of creating immersive sonic experiences: a fitting celebration of their 25 years of sonic exploration and experimentation.

Like any good psychedelic trip, the music of UFOMAMMUT has always been inextricably intertwined with visual art. Poia describes longer compositions, “like a painting,” as if to reinforce the relevance and importance of visual art in their music. And as always, the artwork, videos, and all visuals/graphics for Hidden were created by Malleus Rock Art Lab, the rock/music graphic design collective of which Poia and Urlo are part of with Lu.

Hidden was recorded at Flat Scenario Studio in Piemonte, Italy, with Lorenzo Stecconi handling the mixing and mastering, and Luca Grossi overseeing vocal tracking.

Hidden will be released on CD, LP, and digital on May 17th, in North America through Neurosis’ Neurot Recordings, the vinyl pressed on a Silver Nugget variant in a gatefold jacket. In Europe, the band’s Supernatural Cat Records will release it, a standard version on 180-gram Marbled Purple And Black variant, and a limited version of 500 copies on 180-gram Crystal Clear variant crafted by hand using photosensitive colors that are activated by sunlight, bringing the concept of the album to life, with multiple bundles and options.

Find US preorders/presaves at Neurot Recordings HERE and EU preorders at Supernatural Cat HERE.

Hidden Track Listing:

  1. Crookhead
  2. Kismet

SONS OF THUNDER were born in Rome in 2017 and debuted as a live band, starting to perform in most Italian clubs, making space within the local underground. Thanks to their overwhelming live energy and a first successful demo, they guarantee the growing interest of the public and professionals.
In 2021 they entered the Kick Recording Studio, under the expert guidance of Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Nanowar Of Steel, Shores Of Null) and Matteo Gabbianelli (Kutso, Payback), to record their first single and completed at Bloom Recording Studio their debut album: a true Hard Rock manifesto of 11 songs.

Proudly derivative but never banal, inspired by the sounds of classic bands such as AC/DC and Motörhead, SONS OF THUNDERwill certainly also be appreciated by fans of contemporary hard rock (Airbourne, Thundermother, The Darkness, Volbeat, Turbonegro), thanks also an audio production that winks at the Northern European musical panorama.

Mr. Jon Zazula (leader of Megaforce Records, responsible for the success of bands like Metallica, Anthrax and Mercyful Fate) describes SONS OF THUNDER as “AC/DC on steroids”, underlining how the band manages to maintain a strong identity while making clear their musical influences.

In 2021 the band released the official video for the debut single “Turn It Up”, produced by the Sanda Movies team (Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade, Spinefarm Records), receiving excellent feedback (150+ Youtube comments and over 7,000 unique viewers in first hours of publication). The song was included in the Heavy Rotation of Radio Rock FM 106.600, a historic broadcaster in central Italy with over 140,000 daily listeners, remaining in the ranking of the most voted singles for over a month. The same fate awaits the second single, “Thunderhood”, accompanied by a memorable lyric video. The relationship with the historic Roman broadcaster is consolidated with interviews and live sets on the radio also during the fundraising for AIL Roma.

In 2022, with the regular resumption of live shows, SONS OF THUNDERperform for the Radio Rock 106.6 fm party, opening for the legendary punk band Klaxon, at the Frantic Festival (along with Doyle from Misfits, Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, Benediction, Godflesh and many others) as well as direct support for the Tygers Of Pan Tang Italian tour.

In 2023 SONS OF THUNDERreleased an hard rock cover of Tom Jones and Mousse T.’s song “Sex Bomb”.

Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming music!

KAMELOT‘s latest album, The Awakening, debuted at #2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and #27 on the Current Album Sales chart, and connected with fans and critics alike – touted by many as the best late-era KAMELOT release to date! The album enters the band’s legacy as their most massive and diverse offering yet – mixing symphonic, gothic, melodic, progressive and power metal styles while yielding some of the heaviest tracks in the band’s history. Having reigned supreme with the release of internationally top-charting melodic metal pinnacles such as The Fourth Legacy (1999), The Black Halo (2005), Silverthorn (2012), Haven (2015, #1 US Hard Rock Albums), and most recently 2018’s acclaimed The Shadow Theory (#2 US Hard Music Albums), KAMELOT’s intense brand of ultramodern gothic and symphonic theatricality is amplified further and with more emotionality than ever on The Awakening.

Showcasing the incomparable, stage-seasoned vocal acrobatics of Tommy Karevik and increasingly airtight, renowned technical teamwork of guitarist Thomas Youngblood, drummer Alex Landenburg, keyboardist Oliver Palotai and bassist Sean Tibbetts, KAMELOT’s score-like 13th studio album is accented by guest contributions from the likes of Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) and renowned instrumentalists like violinist Florian Janoske and cellist Tina Guo. The Awakening features crystal clear modern production helmed by the band and longtime producer Sascha Paeth, plus mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen of Hansen Studios.

“10/10 “Masterpiece!” – Metal-Temple

“The Awakening is KAMELOT’s best album in almost 20 years…” – The Prog Mind (US), 9/10

“The Awakening is KAMELOT performing at the top of their game.” – New Noise Magazine (US)

“The Awakening is probably the hottest candidate for the (melodic) metal album of the year.” – Rock It! (DE) – 10/10
