BELLE MORTE Return to Their Roots with Acoustic Reimagining of Debut Single ‘Mercy’

Symphonic gothic metal project Belle Morte announces the release of a new acoustic music video for their debut single Mercy.

Originally released on December 9, 2017, Mercy was the first song the band ever put out and holds a special place in their history. Since its debut, the track has remained a fan favorite, and listeners have frequently expressed interest in hearing it reimagined in a stripped-back format.

The new arrangement presents Mercy with piano and acoustic guitar, offering a more intimate and reflective take on the song while retaining the emotional core that made the original memorable. For the band, revisiting Mercy carries a sense of nostalgia and connection to the start of their creative journey.

TORTURE SQUAD Release ‘Buried Alive’ Music Video, Feat. ANDREAS KISSER

Brazilian extreme metal powerhouse Torture Squad releases this Saturday, January 24, the music video for “Buried Alive”, the ninth video taken from their latest album ‘Devilish’, released in September 2023 via Italian label Time To Kill Records.

In this newest release, the band translates the raw intensity and strong crossover hardcore influences of the track into imagery that reflects resistance, survival, and the spirit of the underground. The video is seted at a symbolic location of São Paulo ‘s heavy music subculture: Pista de Skate da Saúde (Saúde Ramps), a legendary skate park in the city.

Directed and filmed by Rodrigo Borrero (Agência Brasília), the video reinforces the connection between music and skateboarding as powerful outlets for expression. Both are portrayed as tools to confront anxiety, depression, and everyday pressure, highlighting movement, unity, and collective energy.

Singer Mayara Puertas explains the emotional background behind the lyrics:

“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Buried Alive’ during a panic attack episode , so it became a personal release. People often minimize the suffering of those dealing with mental health issues, believing that medication alone is enough, or that it’s a lack of effort, or even a lack of faith –  which I’ve heard more than once. It’s a constant struggle, and this song reflects what it was like to go through all of that.”

The skate park also holds a special background in Torture Squad’s own history. The band was formed in São Paulo’s South Zone, between the neighborhoods of Ipiranga and Vila das Mercês.

Drummer & band founder Amílcar Christófaro reflects on this connection:

“Skateboarding and metal have always been side-by-side, and that’s still true today. Pista da Saúde was a gift to local skaters. When it opened in 1994, I was already retiring from the skating scene because of the band, so I really enjoyed it later on. I remember watching Suicidal Tendencies videos and dreaming of making a Torture Squad video with same stuff like skateboarders, streetlife. And this is the perfect moment because, in addition to May’s powerful message, there’s the more than special participation of Andreas Kisser, who, along with Sepultura, not only influenced us musically but also showed us the path we wanted and could take in life. Ultra special.”

The video features appearances by local skateboarders, reinforcing the fusion between sound, movement and attitude, celebrating the underground Metal Lifestyle.

Torture Squad continues to promote their recent album ‘Devilish’, available on digital platforms and in physical format.

Torture Squad is seen by extreme music fans as one of the most visceral and powerful metal bands active today. With nearly three decades of experience, including excellent live performances at the most important metal festivals in the world, the Brazilian group has gathered legions of fans playing throughout the country, Latin America, and Europe – breaking the record after performing at Wacken Open Air 2025, becoming one of the only Brazilian bands to play four times at the festival.

In their second album with the new lineup, Mayara Puertas (Vocals), Rene Simionato (Guitar), Castor (Bass), and Amilcar Christófaro (Drums) maturely transcend the sound of extreme metal, incorporating progressive metal, influences from Brazilian music, and symphonic elements.

The album also pays homage to Brazilian heroes with the participation of Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) on the track “Buried Alive,” and a tribute to Rickson Gracie, the resilient Jiu-Jitsu fighter considered one of the sport’s greatest legends, the subject of the track “Warrior,” which also became a single featuring singer Leather Leone from Chastain, as well as Alex Nasser on Arabic percussion in “Hell is Coming.”

The band also mobilized several musicians linked to indigenous causes to collaborate on the song “Uatumã” – Suzane Hecate (Miasthenia), Victor Rodrigues (Tribal Scream), and João Luiz (Golpe de Estado) – making an appeal for the preservation of the Amazon in a song that flows powerfully with the words of indigenous leader Raoni Metuktire and tribal rhythms. The band released seven high-production music videos to promote the album: “Hell is Coming”, “Flukeman”, “Warrior”, “Sanctuary”, “Thoth”, “Mabus” e “Find My Way”  “Magnum Chaos”.

As a first taste, the band released the first single, titled “Mabus,” accompanied by a lyric video made by Wanderley Perna. ‘Devilish’ was recorded and mixed by Diego Rocha at Bay Area Studios, and mastered by Martin Furia, guitarist of Destruction and famous for working with the bands The Damnnation, Invisible Control, and Eskrota.

Lineup:
Mayara “Undead” Puertas – Vocals
Rene Simionato – Guitar
Castor – Bass
Amilcar Christófaro – Drums

POWERWOLF light a literal pyre with the fourth single off their monumental upcoming live album, Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), out February 13, 2026 via Napalm Records. “1589”, originally released on their #1 album Wake Up The Wicked (2024), is one of many highlights of the live album’s captured performance, brought to life by a blazing stage production and spectacular pyrotechnics. The accompanying live video of the characteristically catchy hymn has us all witness the spectacle that transcends beyond a concert. Filmed in Munich during their impressive sold-out show at Olympiahalle as part of the stunning Wolfsnächte Tour in 2024, POWERWOLF prove once more that they are an unmatched force!

POWERWOLF on Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle):
“We always knew that no words or short recap videos could truly capture what we experienced together during the Wolfsnächte 2024 tour. Every night was its own kind of magic – still, we wanted to find a way to hold on to those memories and share them in the most powerful way possible. That’s why we decided to record the full, massive, sold-out show at the Olympiahalle in Munich – to preserve just a piece of what we all felt on this tour. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than a live release. It’s a tribute and manifestation to the moments we created together.”

What began as an unconventional project in 2004 has since evolved into one of the most successful metal phenomena worldwide. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) documents POWERWOLF’s unrelenting rise to the top, showcasing a performance that goes far beyond a metal concert. From a fire-breathing church organ and thunderous pyro spectacles to dark, operetta-like storytelling and rousing crowd interaction, this show is pure heavy metal theater at its finest. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is an absolute must-have for every music lover. It will be available in multiple formats including Blu-Ray, DVD, CD and Vinyl as well as a Deluxe Boxset, Earbook, Mediabook, and several other Collectors Editions, featuring exclusive bonus content.

On Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), each song is visually reimagined with a changing digital stage set, timed effects, and theatrical elements: monks with torches, falling snow on a burning piano, and a fiery execution scene that rivals shock rock’s greatest icons. Classics like “Army Of The Night”, “Amen & Attack”, “Armata Strigoi”, and “Demons Are a Girl’s Best Friend” come alive in larger-than-life arrangements, while emotional highlights like “Alive or Undead” bring the audience to tears. The interplay between frontman Attila Dorn and organist Falk Maria Schlegel turns every moment into an unforgettable ritual.

Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than just a celebration of past triumphs – it marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter in the band’s unstoppable journey. POWERWOLF have long transcended genre boundaries – their shows are cult-like celebrations of metal, emotion, and art. With Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), they once again prove that what they create is beyond music – it is religion.

POWERWOLF LIVE 2026

With the Summer Of The Wicked tour through Europe and their triumphant return to the USA and Canada just behind them, the wolves are ready to conquer the biggest stages worldwide once again! POWERWOLF will raise the banners high once more and conquer Europe during their Wake Up The Wicked Tour, which includes their first show at the legendary OVO Arena Wembley for an exclusive United Kingdom show – a night destined to go down in metal history! The band is also already confirmed to return to some of the biggest metal festivals: beyond others, POWERWOLF will headline the monumental Wacken Open Air next summer!

Metal heroines NERVOSA announce their new album: Slave Machine will be unleashed on April 3, 2026 via Napalm Records! Their sixth album shows the Brazil-based modern thrash metal band releasing their inner beasts at staggering speed and with formidable emphasis. Having performed at the biggest metal festivals worldwide, from Wacken to Hellfest, and making a lasting impression on fans and critics alike, NERVOSA aims to consolidate their standing as genre frontrunners. With founding guitarist Prika Amaral established as their new singer with their previous record, Jailbreak (2023), they tear through the scene with the force of a sledgehammer.

Once again working with producer Martin Furia of German legends DESTRUCTION, the women bridge the gap between old-school power and critical modernity. Slave Machine adds twelve fiery songs to NERVOSA’s repertoire and is available for pre-order now!

Along with the announcement, NERVOSA release the title track of the upcoming record. “Slave Machine” serves as a perfect first harbinger of the fury the Brazilian group is about to unleash on the world: instantly turning up the speed and showing a slightly different side of the thrash band with a catchy alternative bridge, the crushing track kicks off a new era for NERVOSA!

NERVOSA about “Slave Machine”:
“This song is everything that we want to say and play, many different vocal layers and guitar melodies like a scream to say that we are all part of the ‘Slave Machine’.”

NERVOSA erupts as a metal volcano with their latest record. Never settling, always exploring, one staggering riff after another, Slave Machine is a crushing statement—it comes, sees, and conquers.

NERVOSA about Slave Machine:
“Slave Machine is the most brutal and melodic album of NERVOSA, and we are proud to take this step further, keeping our roots.”

Twelve new songs show the five-piece exploring their crushing style in an enhanced way. Opening “Impending Doom” builds up menacingly, using thunderous riffs and jagged drums to establish the women’s dominance in the scene. The title track, “Slave Machine”, instantly turns up the speed and adds a surprising alternative bridge to the already catchy chorus, showing a slightly different side of the metal powerhouses. The following “Ghost Notes” unleashes a storm of heavy, yet easily recognizable riffs, driven by impelling drums and the ever-so-furious vocals of Prika Amaral, crowned by an astounding guitar solo. Through “Beast Of Burden”, NERVOSA shows their harshest side, while “You Are Not A Hero” offers a grand chorus, gifting Slave Machine a true anthem. “Hate” unfolds with raw brutality, and “The New Empire” looks for destruction with melodic precision. “30 Seconds” rises up to new heights, while “Crawl For Your Pride” combines NERVOSA’s trademark social criticism with gut-punching songwriting. Throughout “Learn Or Repeat” and “The Call”, the band once again sprinkles in some pieces of modern groove with old-school vibes before Slave Machine rears up one final time on the threateningly sinister “Speak In Fire”.

  1. Impending Doom
  2. Slave Machine
  3. Ghost Notes

The project and its music find their roots in the Post-Punk and New Wave scene (Joy Division, Bauhaus, Killing Joke, Coil, Gary Numan) and into more contemporary visions such as Nine Inch Nails, Editors, and Chelsea Wolfe, but also paying homage to the Italian Punk and Post-Punk scene represented by Negazione, Kina, Franti, Diaframma, Disciplinatha and Limbo / Pankow.
