As a result of brisk ticket sales and numerous sellouts, America’s preeminent progressive rock band KANSAS is adding a third and final leg to their 50th Anniversary Tour. The “Another Fork in The Road” Tour celebrates 50 years of the band’s illustrious music history with concerts featuring two full hours of memorable hits, fan favorites and deep cuts rarely performed live. The tour has been hallmarked by energetic and spellbinding performances at some of the foremost theaters and performing arts centers across the United States and into Canada.

Most newly announced concert dates go on sale this Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10AM Local Venue Time. KANSAS Fan Club, American Express Card Holders, Spotify, and other pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 20, at 10AM Eastern Time.

Previously announced concert dates and KANSAS VIP Packages are on sale now and selling fast.

Ticket information can be found at kansasband.com/tour-dates/

“This tour has already been incredibly special for the band. The 50th Anniversary Tour started in 2023 which commemorates KANSAS’s first year as a band. It is continuing in 2024 which commemorates the release of the first KANSAS album,” comments KANSAS guitarist and original member Richard Williams. “There are so many places in the U.S. where we haven’t been able to play yet, Topeka and Wichita just to name two, we knew we would have to add a third and final leg to the tour. After such a successful and sold-out premiere of the tour in Pittsburgh, PA, we wanted to put an exclamation point on the tour by having the closing 50th Anniversary Tour concert take place back there at the Benedum Center.”

In a tribute to the band’s five decades of success, Billboard Magazine describes the basis for their longstanding appeal: “Blending blues-based hard rock and intricate progressive constructions, KANSAS staked out its own musical territory, at once original and accessible.” Billboard.com – KANSAS Hits 50

“The audiences for this 50th Anniversary Tour have been exhilarating,” adds KANSAS lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. “Let me tell you, after a decade of performing in the band, the energy the fans bring each night continues to give me goosebumps. Fans in attendance seem to continue to raise their energy level and that just makes it even more fun for us up on stage than it already is!”

“As in life, our entire career has been a winding journey,” adds original guitarist Richard Williams. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with Queen, and finally worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture & Point of Know Return.” Williams goes on to remember, “That was followed by various lineup changes, the valleys of the 90’s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last decade.” Williams concludes, “There have been and continue to be several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th Anniversary Tour and release represent that journey and the forks along that road.”

To further celebrate the band’s 50th Anniversary, InsideOutMusic has released Another Fork in the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS. The 3-CD career-spanning collection features carefully selected tracks from across KANSAS’s sizable discography. It also includes a new version of the song ‘Can I Tell You.’ Originally released on their 1974 debut album, the song is updated by the current lineup. Another Fork in the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS is available now. Fans can order it HERE

KANSAS boasts a lineup including original guitarist Richard Williams, bassist & vocalist Billy Greer, lead vocalist & keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist & vocalist Tom Brislin, violinist & guitarist Joe Deninzon, and original drummer Phil Ehart. Drummer Eric Holmquist is performing on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack.

This summer, KANSAS will take a break from its 50th Anniversary Tour to perform its KANSAS Classics set at different events across the United States.

With no signs of slowing down, KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences.

UADA Unveil New Music Video for ‘Retraversing the Void’, North American Tour Kicks Off This Week

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are now unveiling a mind-bending new music video for the song, “Retraversing the Void,” which is taken from the band’s latest full-length, ‘Crepuscule Natura.’ The evocative clip can be found at THIS LOCATION.

UADA comments, “Originally filmed in 2021 and then re-filmed in 2023, the story of ‘Retraversing the Void’ spins light on the ever-old cliche’ tale of rising from the fall.

“As life is full of ups and downs, it is of utmost importance to remember our worth, dedication, and inner potential so that we may understand the universes plan in guiding us along our path.

“While it may be common to feel lost from time to time, we must know we are always where we are meant to be in order to learn from the experiences life presents.

“We hope the symbolism within provides an awakening analogy of opening our perception to the balance of all things as well as the ability to listen to the greater powers (be it the higher-self, an ancestral messenger, or perhaps a deity known as one of many gods) who often speak upon deaf ears.

“We are all the substance that is and ever was.”

Stream / order / download at https://ffm.bio/uada

Ever since the cloaked Pacific Northwest band appeared on the music radar, UADA has always been electrified by both polar worlds. Their echelon was stark and meaningful. Within the stretch of three albums as well as dense and triumphant live shows across the globe, they have not only spiked the map of extreme metal music but their unrelenting touring schedule and unbridled will to push forward into new horizons has also earned them a reception in all the extremes imaginable, be it worship or spite.

Five sonic vessels form the nucleus of ‘Crepuscule Natura,’ and within it`s 41 minutes, the record easily creates a sonic and aesthetic bridge between the band`s debut, ‘Devoid of Light’ (2016), and their sophomore effort ‘Cult of a Dying Sun’ (2018), only to forge onward upon the relentless path set forth with ‘Djinn’ (2020). Here, a more refined and muscular, yet no less melodic stronghold awaits. On ‘Crepuscule Natura,’ UADA provides all their memorable hooks, tasteful leads, and riding blasts in their distinct style, balancing their epic surging melodies with powerful spurts of aggression. Just like the band’s smoke-heavy shows, the momentum and emphasis of their craft always stays grandiose, mythical, and triumphant – all the while making sure to birth a couple of new fan favorites and soon-to-be staple live songs.

‘Crepuscule Natura’, once again graced by the artwork of legendary Kris Verwimp and photography by Peter Beste, shows UADA on fire to unleash the marrow of black heavy metal.

SELBST Presents Second Song ‘When True Loneliness is Experienced’ from Upcoming Album

“Despondency Chord Progressions“, the latest masterwork from Latin American Black Metal band SELBST, will be released on April 19th. Part-recorded at the fittingly named Unpleasant Records in Santiago, Chile, the new album consists of seven dynamic compositions which blend introspection and aggression with a mind-altering sense of melody.

As another pre-release taster, SELBST now unveils a second new track from the impending full-length. ‘When True Loneliness is Experienced‘ is a vast and hypnotically engrossing Black Metal soundscape, showcasing the artistic virtuosity of main-composer N. The piece gradually builds in intensity, from an opening of plaintive guitar melodies into crystalline chant-like vocals, vigorous riffing and thunderous drumming.

N comments:

“I couldn’t recall the exact moment when I started developing it because, for me, composition is a very gradual process. I think everything started with the main riff from the intro. Then, I was very inspired by the band CAMEL, a classic. I wasn’t intentionally trying to copy anything from them, but I remember being deeply touched by those guitar solo tones. The guitar is a very magical instrument for me; I just love it, and I wish I could do so much more with it, so for me, it can evoke all kinds of feelings, plenty of reflection. That’s why the intro of this song is very singular in comparison with the rest of the pieces of the album and to the overall feeling of the song. Music allows you to play with moods and sensations by manipulating tempos, intensities, tunings, chords… And this is something that, with my limited knowledge, I am pleased to portray.

The two tracks released in advance certainly show much of what is contained in the album, but not its entirety. I have taken more vocal risks, even achieving things I never thought possible before, as in my previous album, where I had to invite someone to sing certain parts. It’s interesting that those who listen to this album knowing my previous work may feel that they have been growing and maturing musically with me. Music is a constant process of learning and evolving, and sometimes artists are not very willing to embrace it.“

Lyrically, ‘When True Loneliness is Experienced‘ resonates with the band’s long-established melancholy aesthetic, as N elucidates:

“We all are born and die alone. And for much of our lives, many of us will truly be alone for long periods. But by this, I mean much more than just momentary or occasional physical loneliness; here I refer to the feeling of being so tremendously and bitterly alone that, no matter how many individuals you may have around you, you never truly feel reflected in anyone, which only isolates and feeds your self-contempt. And this is due to your own alienated nature, which does not allow you to feel any deep and hopeful closeness.“

In addition, do immerse yourself in the earlier released album track, ‘Chant Of Self Confrontation‘, available here with its accompanying video:

SELBST‘s third album, “Despondency Chord Progressions,” is set for release on April 19th across multiple formats – CD, vinyl, tape, and digital. A new t-shirt design will accompany the launch. Pre-orders are available through the label’s EU, US (no merch), and Bandcamp stores.

SELBST was formed 2010 in Venezuela by multi-instrumentalist/lyricist N and vocalist Frozen, releasing their initial demo “Veritas Filia Temporis” shortly afterwards. In 2016 N moved to Chile to search out new collaborators and opportunities. The resultant self-titled full-length, featuring vocals by N. Onfray of ANIMUS MORTIS, was released in 2017 to great underground acclaim.

In 2018 N became SELBST‘s lead vocalist and the project turned into a fully-fledged live band, taking to the stage for the first time as the next step of their evolution. The band unleashed second album, “Relatos de Angustia“, in 2020 – a universally praised, deep and challenging record which rewarded repeat listens.

SELBST subsequently honed their artistry and the band’s evolution into a formidable live act was marked by the 2023 digital release of live album, “Vortex Of Anguish And Death“.

As SELBST reaches its 14th year, visionary N is now poised to reveal the band’s third and most compelling album yet. Titled “Despondency Chord Progressions,” this landmark release will emerge on April 19th through Debemur Morti Productions and further refines the intricate, shadowy depths of their already sophisticated sound.

HARPYIE Release New Single And Video ‘Ikonoklast’

German Folk-Metal-Band HARPYIE release “Ikonoklast”, the first single from the forthcoming new studio album “Voodoo”, to be released on October 25th via Metalville Records.

Harpyie – the continuously up-and-coming folk metal band from East Westphalia has played its way into the hearts of the German metal community with its authenticity and consistently individual approach.

Whether at the Wacken Open Air or the Summerbreeze, the five rebels have thrilled the young and genre-breaking target group as well as the traditional metal fans.

With their last album, Harpyie also made it into the German album charts with a fabulous 34th place – and proved it: Folk metal from Germany is just as suitable for the mainstream.

With their new album “Voodoo”, which has now been announced, they are continuing on this path. The first single “Ikonoklast” is a rebellious anthem for individualism and humanity.

The band impresses with a modern and much fresher look than before. Harpyie have cast off their medieval shackles and are entering a new era in their history.

In a combination of strong NuMetal sounds, pop elements and modern sound elements, the five musicians give “Voodoo” a powerful, cool and danceable charm – which can keep up with any modern top chart production.

THRESHOLD Announce European Tour Dates in October 2024

We came up with the history of Threshold, playing at least one song from each of our 12 albums, along with more from the latest releases. This is something that really excited the band and we can’t wait to see everyone in October.”

Formed in leafy Surrey in the late ‘80s, THRESHOLD truly blossomed in the following decade, and swiftly established themselves as the UK’s chief progressive metal standard bearers. From 1993’s Wounded Land debut onwards, the enduring creative core of guitarist Karl Groom and keyboard maestro Richard West constructed a unique new strain of heavy, progressive music, combining incisive melodies, thought-provoking lyrics and intricate but thunderous arrangements. THRESHOLD have marched inexorably forward across three decades of creative fervour, arguably hitting a new peak of potency on the conceptual and musical splurge of 2017’s Legends Of The Shires.

With Glynn Morgan back in the fold, the Brits’ enduring line-up of Groom, West, drummer Johanne James and bassist Steve Anderson somehow pushed themselves to new heights, receiving widespread acclaim and finding themselves in more demand than ever before.

Following up a newly-minted classic was always going to present THRESHOLD with a challenge, but the band’s twelfth studio album swiftly confirms that the challenge has been met. Darker, heavier and even more adventurous than its predecessor, Dividing Lines, reveals a band with a lot on their collective mind, while also boasting some of the most wildly inventive and melodically potent material they have ever recorded.
