Saudi Thrash Metal Maniacs DUNE Unveil Explosive Single ‘Refuge’ from Debut EP “Years Of Chains”

Dune, the relentless force in the world of thrash metal, announces the release of their first lyric video for the single “Refuge” a relentless anthem from their debut EP “Years Of Chains”, which is being unleashed this coming May 2024. Dune, formed in 2004 at the pinnacle of the Saudi metal scene, has returned stronger than ever after a hiatus and is ready to metal faces with their high-speed riffs and visceral vocals. “Refuge” has been in the works for quite a long time as the band shares:

“In 2007 Refuge was a song that was recorded multiple times during the years but we were never satisfied with the result as we faced issues with quality or it didn’t sound as we hoped, our vocalist screamed in the recording so hard that his balls started hurting the next day, still we didn’t like the result and scrapped that whole thing.”

Now that it’s been perfected to the band’s standard, “Refuge” showcases Dune‘s commitment to delivering a breakneck experience for metal enthusiasts. With its groovy orientation, aggressive feel, and heavy riffs, the track is a testament to the band’s evolution and dedication to pushing musical boundaries.

“Refuge” hits hard with demonic verses and heavy self-expression. They are setting a high bar for metal in Saudi Arabia and beyond and will be enjoyed by a wide range of metal heads especially those who enjoy Testament, Slayer, and Pantera.

Dune‘s new EP “Years Of Chains” is due out on May 31, 2024, and will be available on all digital platforms at https://linktr.ee/dune.0fficial

200 STAB WOUNDS to Release “Manic Manual Procedures” Album on June 28th

Cleveland death metal legends-in-waiting 200 STAB WOUNDS have returned with Manual Manic Procedures, set for release on June 28th through Metal Blade Records.

A superlative sophomore effort that follows their tour de force debut, 2021’s Slave To The Scalpel, the new album Manual Manic Procedures is a brutal slab of old-school death metal with a contemporary edge. Not for the faint-hearted, the record may well be the album that puts classic gore-themed ferocity back into the metal community’s collective consciousness.

Slave To The Scalpel saw 200 STAB WOUNDS insinuate themselves into the minds of extreme metal fans, leading to praise from Pitchfork for their “unpretentious brilliance, pitch-black sense of humor” and an “aesthetic [that’s] built around a chugging, groovy riff that stomps down a path of destruction.” Manual Manic Procedures sees the band upping the ante both musically and lyrically.

The album’s artwork — graphically depicting radical surgery on somebody who may or may not be conscious — is an immediate indicator of what this record is all about. No punches pulled, no holds barred, just blood-soaked death metal.

The themes on Manual Manic Procedures run the gamut of classic gore-metal horror subject matter, beloved to the band and their rapidly growing audience. “I’ll feel what kind of vibe the song has, and what topic would fit for that particular song,” vocalist/guitarist Steve Buhl explains. “The last song on the new record, ‘Parricide,’ is about someone going into a nursing home, and just blowing it up. The lyrics are about those type of corporations that don’t really give a fuck about those people. It’s all just a money grab.”

The lead single is Manual Manic Procedures‘ opening track, “Hands Of Eternity.” Buhl explains that the song is about being trapped in your own mind, something most of us can relate to. “That song is a good example of where we want to go musically. The heavy riffs are there, but there’s still a lot of good melody. It’s not just crazy fucking blast beats and, ‘riff riff riff.’ It’s more structured, groovy, and melodic, but still heavy. That’s one of my favorites.”

Watch below 200 STAB WOUNDS‘ video for “Hands Of Eternity,” shot at a sold-out hometown show.

Manual Manic Procedures, which was produced and mixed by Andy Nelson and mastered by Brad Boatwright, will be available on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in various color variants.

PALLBEARER Release Second Single + Video ‘Endless Place’ from Upcoming Album

PALLBEARER have released a second song from their highly-anticipated new album, Mind Burns Alive (May 17, Nuclear Blast Records), with today’s arrival of the deeply moving ‘Endless Place,’ complemented by a visually striking black-and-white companion video.

‘Endless Place,’ which features the band’s first ever musical collaboration (a saxophone solo from Norman Williamson of Amasa Hines), encapsulates the thematic essence of the album, as described by Brett Campbell: “These are vignettes which tell the stories of people who deal with myriad sicknesses of the spirit. These are illnesses communicated by the world we live in, and the subjects are the symptoms of its disease.” The dreamlike scenario that enfolds in ‘Endless Place,’ both lyrically and musically, is one focused on a sense of being lost, disjointed, trapped by unease and confusion.

Five years in the making, with recording initially slated for 2020, and thwarted yet again in 2022, it was 2023 that saw the band members living locally to one another in Little Rock for the first time in nine years. As a group, they self-produced the album in their own, newly constructed studio (Idlewild Audio) and at Fellowship Hall Sound. Reflecting on this, bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland remarked, “It’s ironic given that the album is largely centered around isolation, but it felt like it summoned us into being back together again in one town, after so long apart.”

Album pre-orders, which include limited-edition vinyl, CD and digital, are available now: https://pallbearer.bfan.link/mind-burns-alive.

Cainites has released a video for “Darkness Awaits”, first single taken from the debut album “Revenant” to be released on June 21st by Scarlet Records. PRE-SAVE/PRE-ORDER

Deprivation of light and faith: an endless life to be lived in a world of darkness only. The Orthodox vampire priest still remembers the first victim killed, as if it was his first love, and that infinite thirst that steals the souls. In a final moment of clarity he asks God to stop him from this carnage.

Debut album for the melodic death metal project founded by Deathless Legacy and Motus Tenebrae members;

Artwork and booklet by Frater Orion (Deathless Legacy, Apostolica);
FFO: Insomnium, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Tribulation, Septic Flesh, The Vision Bleak;

“Revenant” will be released in the following formats:

Cainites is the name of the new melodic death metal duo risen from the ashes of the Italian gothic-doom masters Motus Tenebrae and founded by Andrea Falaschi aka Frater Orion (Deathless Legacy), on vocals, drums and keyboards, and Daniele Ciranna, on guitar and bass.

Through their dark, gloomy melodic death metal – heavily influenced by the British and Scandinavian masters with a creepy Mediterranean twist too – Cainites create their own mystique, portraying the bloody mark they have to carry.

“Revenant” is a concept album about an old Orthodox priest who became a vampire against his will. A controversial, cruel and yet fascinating character, oscillating between a sense of abandonment by the divine and the manifestation of a faith that is still present, with continuous pleas to God to stop him from his relentless bloodshed – yearning for a redemption that cannot be reached.

“Revenant” tracklist:
1 Darkness Awaits
2 Theotokos
3 Vampire God
4 God’s Wrath

“Reflections” is as a powerful exploration of environmental issues and our connection to planet Earth. Each track reflects a specific aspect of this often troubled and problematic relationship.

On this album, collaboration and teamwork led to greater complexity in musical structures and arrangements. Clean vocals, interwoven with Gabriele’s signature growl, emphasize the album’s central theme, creating an intense and engaging atmosphere.
