Power metal force SERIOUS BLACK has announced the release of their brand-new studio album, Keeper Of The Light, arriving on January 29, 2027 via PERCEPTION – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music. In support, the band will embark on an extensive tour throughout Europe with Rhapsody Of Fire and support bands.

Marking the band’s next chapter, the album once again showcases everything fans have come to expect from SERIOUS BLACK: massive guitar riffs, driving rhythms, soaring melodies and the unmistakable vocals of Nikola Mijic, all wrapped in a powerful, modern production by Mario Lochert and Bob Katsionis.

Bringing together energy, emotion, melody and uncompromising power metal passion, Keeper Of The Light continues the band’s impressive evolution while staying true to the sound that has earned them international success, frenetically-acclaimed live shows worldwide and a loyal fanbase.

The album is now available for pre-save and pre-order: https://seriousblack.rpm.link/keeperPR

To celebrate the announcement, SERIOUS BLACK have released the album’s first single, “Last Man Standing,” accompanied by a brand-new official music video. The song delivers an uplifting anthem about perseverance, self-belief and refusing to give up, even when faced with doubt, ridicule and resistance.

“For me, this song is more relevant than ever when you look at today’s society”, Mario Lochert reveals. “Someone who believes in themselves, pursues their own goals and wants to achieve something is often laughed at or not taken seriously. You hear comments like: ‘You’d be better off learning a proper trade’ or are simply labelled a weirdo. It was no different for me back then. But the initial laughter later turned into envy and resentment. Last Man Standing is precisely about this journey and about staying true to your own path despite all the opposition.”

Since their formation, SERIOUS BLACK have established themselves as one of the leading names in modern power metal. Combining the experience of musicians from renowned metal acts with memorable songwriting, crushing guitars, anthemic choruses and emotionally charged melodies, the band has built a strong international reputation.

With multiple charting releases, more than 200 concerts worldwide, and acclaimed performances at major festivals and tours across Europe, Asia and beyond, SERIOUS BLACK continue to prove why they remain one of the genre’s most compelling live acts. Keeper Of The Light perfectly captures the band’s trademark blend of power, melody and passion while pushing their sound forward with renewed energy.

All of the eleven songs on the album will see SERIOUS BLACK stylistically return to its roots. Straight, classic power metal – the sound the band once became known for – reigns again. “The return to what once characterized us was already indicated on “Vengeance Is Mine” and “Rise Of Akhenaton”,” Lochert explains the natural evolution of the band and adds: “Since joining five years ago, our singer Nikola Mijic has turned out to be a real jewel for us. Because of his expressive voice and his intuitive feeling for great melodies, the songs have gained more clarity and a more direct presence.”

OUR CEASING VOICE Announce New Album “The Origin of Everything” + Unveil New Single & Video ‘The Man You Wanted Me To Be’

Austrian post rock and post metal outfit Our Ceasing Voice unveil their new single and official video “The Man You Wanted Me To Be”, while revealing all the details of their long-awaited fourth full-length album, “The Origin of Everything”, set for release on October 2nd, 2026 via Argonauta Records on CD, deluxe colored vinyl and digital formats.

Pre-order “The Origin of Everything”: https://shop.argonautarecords.com/

Nearly a decade after their last full-length release, The Origin of Everything marks a powerful return for the Innsbruck-based quartet. Written over several years, the album reflects on identity, memory, belonging and personal transformation, exploring the tension between embracing the future while confronting the past.

“The Origin of Everything” is the band’s most personal and emotionally resonant work to date. Blending cinematic post rock atmospheres, crushing post metal dynamics and alternative rock sensibilities, the record expands the band’s sonic palette while remaining unmistakably true to its identity. Echoes of Caspian’s expansive soundscapes, the weight of Cult of Luna and the emotional depth of Mark Lanegan coexist naturally throughout an album built on contrast, vulnerability and intensity.

Created entirely independently, from the earliest songwriting sessions through recording, mixing and artwork, the album stands as the culmination of nearly twenty years of artistic evolution.

Bandleader and guitarist Sebastian Obermeir comments:

“There are moments when everything shifts. And only later do you begin to understand what has shaped you.”

He adds about the album:

“These songs contain everything that has accompanied us for years — everything we are, were, and might become. It would be easy to simply look back on twenty years as a band. But wouldn’t that only reveal what we already know? So you look inwards. Perhaps even to the origin of everything.”

The new single “The Man You Wanted Me To Be” perfectly captures the emotional core of the album, balancing soaring melodies with the heavier textures that have become a defining element of the band’s sound.

Speaking about the song, Obermeir explains:

“A lot of ‘The Origin of Everything’ is about finding yourself and your place in the world. ‘The Man You Wanted Me To Be’ is about acknowledging that there are people in your life who shape you and help you see yourself more clearly. People who make you better simply by believing you already are.”

He continues:

“Musically, this song reflects exactly who Our Ceasing Voice are today. There is the more inviting, almost radio-friendly side of us alongside the heavier side built around post-rock textures, tremolo guitars and intricate drumming. Instead of choosing between them, we let them coexist. Becoming someone doesn’t mean becoming someone else. We already carry many versions of ourselves within us.”

Following the release of the acclaimed comeback single “Diamond Eyes”, this new chapter further establishes Our Ceasing Voice as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary atmospheric heavy music.

VANAHEIM Release New Single & Video for Upcoming Album Title Track ‘Roede Voor De Borst’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 19, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: VANAHEIM. Leave a comment

Vanaheim, an international storytelling caravan, has its roots in the land of the far sight, namely the Netherlands, in the city of Tilburg. Since their founding in 2015, the quintet has been on an everlasting journey through foreign lands, to spread folktales of their own.

Today, Vanaheim release their third single, along with a music video clip, for the album title track “Roede voor de Borst”.

Stream the track: https://save-it.cc/fireflash/roede

The band comments about “Roede voor de Borst” (English: Rod to the Breast):

“After an exhausting search through the mist, the miller wakes up in a muddy field from a terrifying dream. Driven by a bad feeling, he rushes back to the mill, where a shocking reality awaits: he sees his own lifeless body lying in bed, while villagers gently prepare him for burial. In this space between life and death, he realizes his dreams have faded and his time has run out. There is a cruel irony to his fate. Just now, as he has finally uncovered the truth and his hunger for life has returned, he is forced to accept the silence. The clarity he searched for only arrives at the moment he must let go. He finally gives in to the call of his ancestors, who had been claiming his soul for a long time. As the community pays its last respects, he finds peace in the knowledge that they never abandoned him, no matter how far he had strayed.

What makes this song so special to us is the depth of emotion it carries. The lyrics touch on a deep emotional crisis and an unsettling realization. Beneath that weight lies a gentle message: life is finite. We hope our listeners recognize the beauty of being alive here and now, rather than only realizing it on their deathbed, hoping for a heaven after life, while the heaven was always here on Earth, quietly present, simply unnoticed.”

The  album features top musicians like Coen Janssen of Epica and Nils Fische, live flutuist of Eluveitie, who enhanced the band’s sound with their performances on all new tracks. The Dutch luminary of all things symphonic and melodic metal, aka Joost van den Broek produced, recorded and mixed the album before it was mastered by Finnish mastering legend Mika Jussila in Helsinki.

“Roede voor de Borst” involves the listener in an immersive storyline about regrets, despair, hope and salvation. A musical journey full of surprises coated by a Dutch 19th century setting that pulls you deep into a book of untold legends. The Dutch vocals award these songs with an emotional honesty which leads every sung word directly under your skin. With a rousing mix of symphonic heaviness, elegant folk-inspired melodies and grounding death metal riffs, “Roede voor de Borst” represents the next level of Vanaheim and a new level of epic folk metal.

In November, VANAHEIM will be going on a European tour supporting TYR, TWILIGHT FORCE and DRAGONLAND. “We are absolutely stoked to be part of the Valhalla Calling European tour. In fact, our first European tour ever, with 25 shows in 15 countries! At the same time, we are proud to call Rock The Nation our new official partner in all manners booking. The Valhalla Calling European tour will take us and our upcoming concept album “Roede voor de Borst”, which will be released on the 4th September 2026 through Fireflash Records, to many countries we have never played in before, like Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Croatia and Italy. Visitors of the tour can expect absolute folk metal madness from our side, with a brand new live show, new songs, new concept fitting merchandise and an energetic performance that raises the excitement with every song. Don’t miss your chance to witness how we engulf Europe with epicness”, comments the band

MOTHER OF MILLIONS Unveil First Single & Video ‘The Wound’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 19, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MOTHER OF MILLIONS. Leave a comment

Greek progressive metal visionaries MOTHER OF MILLIONS have unveiled “The Wound”, the gripping first single and music video taken from their forthcoming studio album “T”, set for worldwide release on September 11 via ViciSolum Records. Available now on all major streaming platforms, the track offers a powerful first glimpse into what promises to be the band’s most ambitious and emotionally resonant work to date.

Serving as the opening chapter of “T”, “The Wound” immediately immerses listeners in the album’s sweeping narrative, one that explores war, loss, resilience, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Bridging the words of 19th-century American poets with those of 20th-century Greek writers, “T” transforms timeless reflections on conflict into a cinematic progressive metal experience, balancing crushing heaviness with haunting beauty and emotional depth.

Created in the shadow of global unrest, the album channels both devastation and defiance, weaving together towering riffs, expansive atmospheres, and deeply evocative songwriting into what stands as the band’s most compelling artistic statement yet.

MOTHER OF MILLIONS about “The Wound”: “‘I am faithful, I do not give out’ – We welcome you to our new era with ‘The Wound’. The song explores the physical devastation of war through the eyes of Walt Whitman, while reflecting our ability to endure wounds of both flesh and soul. We chose to adapt this 19th century poem to open the record, because it confronts the human cost of war with heavy imagery and at the same time, carries a message of endurance: that inner strength and faith in collective power can lead us to overcome even the most impossible circumstances.“

Tracklist:
01. The Wound
02. The War
03. The Aftermath
04. The Innocent
05. The Ascent
06. As One

Colombia’s POISON THE PREACHER Release New “Things I Want” EP with New Video Single ‘Ran Out of Options’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 19, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: POISON THE PREACHER. Leave a comment

Poison The Preacher‘s rapid rise shows no signs of slowing as the Colombian crossover heavyweights today release their explosive new EP, Things I Want via Seek and Strike. Accompanying the release is the ferocious new single and video ‘Ran Out Of Options’, a deeply personal track exploring the suffocating pressure of ambition and the all-consuming pursuit of impossible goals. Blending thrash, hardcore, death metal and Latin-infused aggression into a sound entirely their own, the Bogotá quartet deliver their most focused and devastating statement to date.

Watch the video for ‘Ran Out of Options’ here:

Never ones to be confined by genre boundaries, Poison The Preacher have spent the last several years forging a sound that fuses thrash, hardcore, death metal and Latin-infused aggression into something uniquely their own. Emerging from Bogotá’s vibrant underground scene, the quartet have rapidly established themselves as one of South America’s most exciting heavy exports, and Things I Want sees them pushing far beyond straightforward crossover worship into territory that is both deeply personal and sonically devastating. Mixed and mastered by Charles Toshio (Sunami, Big Boy, Spy, Gulch), the EP captures Poison The Preacher at their most ambitious and uncompromising.

That refusal to stay in one lane has become central to the band’s identity. Poison The Preacher’s sound crashes together pit-starting hardcore grooves, razorwire thrash riffs, death metal violence and moments of unexpected melody and atmosphere, music designed equally for hardcore kids and metalheads. “This is metal made for hardcore kids, but this is also hardcore made for metal-heads,” says Carrera. “With this new release, those lines between genres have blurred more and more.”

While Things I Want hits with all the violence fans have come to expect, its thematic focus digs far deeper. Inspired by obsession, ambition and unattainable dreams, the EP’s striking artwork features a mutilated Daruma doll, traditionally a Japanese symbol of perseverance and fulfilled goals, with one eye violently torn away.

“The EP talks about broken dreams, toxic purposes, things that you would give your entire life to, but they may never become true,” Carrera explains. “It’s a testament to obsession and ambition, in both a good and a bad way. It’s okay to have a purpose, to have a dream that you want with all your heart, but you can’t let it consume you and destroy your life.”

Track-list:
1. Things I Want ft Speed
2. Last Time I’ve Seen The Sun
3. Ran Out Of Options
4. Chicken Out

That emotional honesty arrives at a pivotal moment for the band. Their 2025 debut album Vs The World earned widespread praise across the metal press for its explosive collision of crossover thrash, hardcore and Colombian musical identity, with critics highlighting the band’s ferocity, musicianship and refusal to sound like anyone else. Publications including Metal Hammer, Distorted Sound, Metal Temple and Dead Rhetoric praised the band’s ability to merge old-school crossover intensity with modern heaviness and distinctly Latin American influences, while their live reputation has continued to grow through shows alongside acts including Suffocation, Agnostic Front, In Flames and Overkill.

Now, with Things I Want, Poison The Preacher are preparing to take that momentum worldwide. The band will spend July touring across Europe, including appearances at both Wacken Open Air and Obscene Extreme Festival, landmark moments for a band becoming one of Colombia’s most vital heavy exports.

“It’s a huge achievement for us to be the first Colombian band to be directly booked by Wacken Open Air and Obscene Extreme,” says Carrera. “The live show is the most important part for us. The energy is different, it’s going to make you love us or love us even more.”

If Vs The World introduced Poison The Preacher as a rising force, Things I Want feels like the sound of a band fully kicking into overdrive, more dangerous, more ambitious and more emotionally fearless than ever before.

BASTION ROSE Release Progressive Hard Rock Anthem ‘Someday’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 19, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: BASTION ROSE. Leave a comment

Rock’s darker angels fly again. Bastion Rose released a new single called “Someday.” It is loud. It is heavy. It carries the weight of a two-million-stream catalog and the daily expectations of hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners. But those are just numbers.

To understand the sheer, triumphant energy of this track, you have to understand the silence that came before it.

“Only a few years ago, the silence was literal. Cancer,” says Bastion Rose singer and guitarist, Austin Frink. “I had recently watched my parents pass on, and I fought my own physical war not to join them. I did not sing. After surgery and treatment, I couldn’t. But hope has a way of coercing those in despair back to motion. To build. To survive. The whisper became a croak. The croak became a quiet, hoarse note. That note became a roar. Bastion Rose is the roar.”

Musically, the track is a towering achievement of progressive rock. Building on the world-class sonic blueprint established with three-time Grammy-winning producer David Bottrill (Tool, Godsmack, Mastodon, Muse) on the band’s earlier records, “Someday” pairs relentless, aggressive instrumentation with an undeniable, aspirational hook.

Where previous releases explored the grit and dirt of sheer survival, “Someday” is the breakthrough.

“It is the moment you finally stand up,” Frink explains. “You realize that you alone have the power to rebuild your reality. You are the creator of your world.”

That reality is scaling rapidly. Supported by recent acclaim from SPIN, Metal Hammer, and Classic Rock Magazine, Bastion Rose is translating massive digital leverage into a formidable real-world footprint, with their eyes already beyond their upcoming album, ‘Blue Rising,’ to their following record and international campaign of live shows.

“There is no light without the weight of the dark. Scars persist, but in fact compose the art of ourselves. We are powerful, fragile things, expanding and dissolving. How beautiful it is to build and to grow and to reach for the sky as long as we live and breathe.” – Austin Frink, Bastion Rose

“Someday” is available on all major streaming platforms.

About Bastion Rose:

Bastion Rose is a cinematic hard rock project based in Bloomington, Indiana. Known for their sophisticated fusion of monumental 70s-era grooves and 2000s era alternative metal intensity, the band has earned international recognition for their high-caliber production and narrative-driven songwriting. Following their David Bottrill-produced debut Traces of Gold, the band is currently unveiling the next chapter of their evolution with the album Blue Rising.
