Progressive metal band Take & Take announced their debut album Disillusion is slated for release on March 22, 2024. Crafting every element from concept to concrete, the musical visionary Eddie Trager helmed the entire process—ideas, composition, instrumental and vocal performances, and even the captivating hand-drawn cover art.
Yet, in this artistic endeavor, Trager found collaboration in the form of the legendary Matt Bayles. Known for his contributions to some of Eddie’s all-time favorite albums, Bayles lent his expertise to the mixing duties at the prestigious Red Room in Seattle. Meanwhile, metal production titan Jens Bogren took the reins for mastering at his renowned Fascination Street Studios in Malmo, Sweden, ensuring the album’s sound reaches new heights.
Disillusion draws inspiration from a diverse array of progressive musical influences, weaving a tapestry that spans from the avant-garde sounds of Ihsahn, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Opeth, Mastodon, Wilderun, and The Mars Volta to the vibrancy of Jacob Collier, The Beatles, Queen, and Yes. The album masterfully navigates through a spectrum of musical genres, seamlessly blending pop sensibilities with experimental twists that defy traditional forms.
Prepare to embark on a musical odyssey that transcends boundaries, as Take & Take introduces Disillusion to the world on March 22, 2024—a testament to innovation, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of artistic excellence.
“Sticky” – the first single from the upcoming Disillusion album – dropped January 12th with a simultaneous video premiere at Metal Injection. Check it out HERE
“That Won’t Last”, the second single, came out February 16 with a lyric visualizer by Drain Hope.

Meet Eddie Trager, a versatile artist whose musical journey spans a spectrum of roles and genres:
Formerly a rhythmic force as the drummer and percussionist for Nekrogoblikon from 2007 to 2016, Eddie contributed not only his drumming skills but also his talents on xylophone, glockenspiel, marimba, and earned credits as a songwriter.
Currently, he is making waves as the drummer for the new punk/hardcore band, Last Leg, as well as handling production and mixing duties for their debut EP. Additionally, Eddie showcases his guitar prowess with The Wailing Coast, a rock band based in China, where he intricately weaves melodies into their sonic landscape.
As the leader of Eddie Spaghetti and the Selfish Bitches, Eddie brings an absurd sensibility to modern music. Moreover, his collaborative efforts with Emo/Shoegaze/chamber music artist A Lady Named Isaac add another layer to his diverse musical portfolio.
Eddie Trager’s journey with Take & Take began in 2016, during his travels through Colombia. The song forms coalesced during live demo sessions in the midst of the 2020 lockdown in Xiamen, China. Take & Take is the sound of personal struggle and awakening, of greed and gain, of telling lies and being lied to, of deep disappointment and personal loss, the rise of ego and the inevitable fall. It’s a poetic testament to the transformative power of heavy music, inviting those who truly listen to join the experience. Take & Take isn’t just music; it’s an immersive journey through the complexities of the human experience—raw, unapologetic, and undeniably powerful.

Returning with a big bang, the alternative sister-trio from Monterrey, Mexico, The Warning, proudly present their anxiously awaited new full-length album, Keep Me Fed [LAVA/Republic Records], out June 28, 2024. Physical products will be available at RepublicRecords.com, including CDs, vinyl, t-shirts, and fan packs [CD/t-shirt or vinyl/t-shirt]. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE.
In talking about the story behind the decision to name the album Keep Me Fed, “throughout the whole process, the work was consuming us,” says Pau. “By impacting everything we did, the album kept us fed both creatively and personally. We’re inviting other people to participate and consume it too.”
Bulldozing the way for the record’s arrival, they just unveiled two singles, namely “Hell You Call A Dream” and the Spanish-language “Qué Más Quieres.” Each song is also accompanied by its own lyric video. Listen to “Hell You Call A Dream” HERE. Watch the lyric video HERE. Listen to “Qué Más Quieres” HERE. Watch the lyric video HERE.
Illuminating the band’s evolution, the tracks hint at the breadth of their stunning signature style. On “Hell You Call A Dream,” co-written and produced by Anton Delost [Highly Suspect, Mayday Parade] and Dan Lancaster [MUSE, Bring Me The Horizon], an arresting keyboard melody wraps around the punchy bass line . A distorted guitar groove anchors a hard-hitting hook, “Give me something to believe, in this hell you call a dream.” Dany notes, “‘Hell You Call A Dream’ tries to express a feeling most musicians find hard to express. When you’re touring, you experience the positives, the negatives, and the whole spectrum of emotion all at once. It’s about how something you love so much can be something that also weighs you down, but you continue to do it out of love. It’s fulfilling, but it’s tiring.”
The three-piece further flaunt their fiery versatility on “Qué Más Quieres.” It tempers a robust riff with an electronic flurry, giving way to a chantable chorus with the power to resonate worldwide. “The title translates to ‘What else do you want?’,” Pau reveals. “It’s about taunting and manipulating. We were thinking of the TikTok phrase, ‘Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss’, and turned it into a song.” Dany goes on, “It means a lot to sing in our language and represent our country. Over the years, doors have finally opened for Mexican women in rock, and we’re actively participating in opening these doors where we can.”
Stay tuned for more soon.
Keep Me Fed also features “MORE”, which the band performed at the 2023 MTV VMAs, and the recently released fan favorite “S!CK” that is climbing the Active Rock charts. Revolver raved, “Like the Mexican sister-trio’s previous output, it’s undeniably infectious,” and Classic Rock hailed it as a “shot-in-the-arm of propulsive, fire-spitting hard rock.” Rolling Stone pegged it as one of “All The Songs You Need To Know This Week.”
Next up, The Warning will perform at Mexico’s prestigious Pa’l Norte and Vive Latino Festivals followed by a month-long full-scale European tour this spring. It kicks off in Madrid at Sala La Riviera on April 4, canvases the continent, and concludes in London at O2 Forum Kentish Town on April 27.
The tour marks the band’s return to Europe after their own 2023 run of beyond sold out headline EU & UK dates in addition to their monumental run supporting MUSE & Royal Blood on their stadium tours. They also sold out shows across Mexico, South America including their largest show to date in Mexico City at the infamous Pepsi Center.
The Warning are as hungry as ever on Keep Me Fed, and they’re about to sink their teeth into 2024.

Pavulon comments: “Through Darkness Towards Enlightenment is a commentary on how I perceive the surrounding reality and is inspired by everything that I encountered throughout the years. It is a form of releasing the pressure and frustration growing within for many years, a form of catharsis, a sort of therapy – coming to terms with my demons and finding the strength to pursue my goals against all odds.“

One of the distinguishing features of Shadohm is undeniably our custom guitars, built to order by our friend Kriz Ramirez from Mexico, at his company – K. Ramirez Guitars. Due to our preference for tuning low (even very low), we knew that Kriz would be the right person to make them, considering his years of experience as a luthier and as a musician.
We opted for a shape that is a variation of the Iceman model produced by Ibanez. All three guitars are 9-string “Spitfire” models, equipped with custom-made Fishman Fluence pickups. The bridge was built from scratch specifically for us by Kriz’s team based on the Hipshot bridge because they don’t manufacture bridges for nine-string multiscale guitars as a standard. The scale is 30” for the lowest string and 28” for the highest, making them an ideal combination for comfort (it makes catching various peculiar chords a bit easier) and also allowing all tones, even the lowest ones, to resonate without detuning. We chose this setup because we tune down to F# on the thickest string (an octave lower than the classical F# on an eight-string guitar), and the conventional solutions available on the market were insufficient.
As for the wood selection, following Kriz’s advice, we settled on flamed maple, while the fretboard itself is made of exotic Granadillo wood, which performs excellently in low tunings.
We aimed for an original look. All three guitars are in a beige shade, we swapped the classic potentiometers for knobs, and the logo on the 12th fret and the lumin laye shimmer in blue under UV light – associations with Dune are entirely accurate. You can see the details in the photos, and already in March, during the upcoming “Black Pasha” tour, you will be able to hear and see live how these instruments present themselves in all their splendor.
With word getting out about the new studio album Ride Of The Iron Horse from muscle-bound heavy metal icon THOR as well as a string of special live performances already underway, THOR-mania 2024 is in full swing! This year marks a historic milestone for the prodigious purveyor of punishing power metal, an incredible 5 decades since embarking on a solo music career that took him from the competitive bodybuilding tournaments of his youth to leading the charge of metal gods in the ‘80s and keeping the holy metal flame lit through the 21st century.
Fortuitously, some of the tracks on Ride Of The Iron Horse have their origin in the halcyon days of the ‘80s. “Flight Of The Striker,” for instance, was originally written and demoed in 1987, just a couple of years after THOR’s mammoth 1985 album Only The Strong. The song is suffused with classic ‘80s metal energy and imagery and includes performances by two members of the classic THOR line-up – guitarist Steve Price and drummer Mike Favata, along with bassist Mike Kischnick. “Flight Of The Striker” only serves to highlight just how far THOR has come as both an artist and metal music pioneer! Listen to the song at the link below and check out the awesome lyric video for the track as well!
Not only does today mark the release of “Flight Of The Striker,” but it is also the date of THOR’s much-anticipated headline performance at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA! THOR will be joined by special guests including Cherie Currie, famed lead vocalist of The Runaways, as well as Joecephus & The George Jonestown Massacre. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime performance!
Ride Of The Iron Horse is set for full release on March 22 and will be available on both CD and vinyl. In a nod to the vibrant visuals that have always accompanied Thor’s music, the album features original art design by internationally renowned comic book artist Timo Wuerz. With his dynamic illustrations, Wuerz captures the essence of Thor’s larger-than-life persona, bringing a visual dimension to the sonic onslaught.
