Sweden’s CORRODED are known for blurring the lines between Black Sabbath and Machine Head. Their brilliant blend of Hard Rock and Alternative Metal has made them a unique, rare force of nature within the Metal Scene. Now joined by remixers Counterstrike; a hard drum and bass music producer duo from Cape Town consisting of Justin Scholtemeyer and Eaton Crous, and are known for their composition of raw, high-energy sound inspired by metal, techno and early techstep.
CORRODED is a heavy metal band from Ånge, Sweden. The break came in 2009 with the song Time And Again and debut album ‘Eleven Shades of Black’. Since then they’ve released four more albums, toured relentlessly (including several European tours, both on their own and as support for bands like Airbourne), had the théme song for the Swedish TV show Survivor (Expedition Robinson in Sweden) and music in the globally popular video game Battlefield. Their latest (5th) album ‘Bitter‘ was released in 2019, was followed by a European tour and ended the year with a slight change in line-up (long time member Tomas Andersson left the band). As for most bands, the pandemic hit hard, but the band dug themselves into a black hole and recorded their sixth album – ‘Plague’. They comment:
”-We’ve got 5 ”children”…each and everyone as much important as the other ones…but this one is our lovechild, our very special ”late bloomer” or ”trailing child”, born out of the anxiety and boredom of the plague…and, except from mastering, all done by ourselves…welcome to the dark soul of CORRODED..enjoy the ride..”

It’s getting serious: in four weeks, the Finnish theatrical metal pioneers LOST IN GREY will release their latest album “Odyssee Into The Grey”. With the single “The Bottomless Pit”, the Scandinavians show their full range:
Composer Harri Koskela proudly tells: “‘The Bottomless Pit’ represents the most versatile and theatrical side of the new album, accompanied with lots of orchestral elements. Musically I was inspired by certain movie scores, and some may recognise e.g. some “Ennio Morricone” vibes here and there. This track is one of the first ones which we worked on together with Francesco Ferrini from Fleshgod Apocalypse regarding the orchestral elements, and I’m extremely happy how it turned out! Also, it is one of the two songs we composed together with Anne Lill for this album.” – Harri
Anne Lil adds: “Storywise ‘The Bottomless Pit’ is the “villain song” of the upcoming album. The song title stems from a quote from Erich Fromm, “Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.” We sing mainly as our characters but there are two lines in which I’m singing as “myself”. This is also the song in which my character Lillian sort of realises she has a dark side too. As I’m always interested in various forms of art (e.g. writing, singing, visual arts), this time I also did improvised dancing for the music video.”
The Finnish theatrical metal band LOST IN GREY was founded in 2013 by composer, vocalist and keyboardist Harri Koskela, and lyricist and vocalist Anne Lill Rajala. What originally was planned to be simply a short-term project, soon grew into a full band. Inspired by a large variety of musical genres, literature, philosophy, and the world itself, Lost in Grey creates multifaceted music and brings elements of drama to their songs as well as live performances.
Followed by the previous album releases, THE GREY REALMS (2017), THE WASTE LAND (2019), and UNDER THE SURFACE (2021), which all claimed great responses from audiences and media, Lost in Grey’s upcoming 4th album takes another giant leap towards even greater musical adventures. The vocalists Emily Leone, Anne Lill Rajala and Harri Koskela play the main characters within the overarching story of all the albums, bringing a very own touch to it through their diverse voice talents.
In recent years these theatrical metal pioneers have proven to be one of the most promising and inspiring acts coming from the Finnish metal scene, electrifying their audiences through their versatile musical storytelling and tremendous sound. Now Lost in Grey invites you to dive with them on new adventures where the music and stories dance hand in hand, and everything is possible…

With a trademark sound that is an uncompromising mix of sludgy riffs and psychedelic nuances, BISMARCK‘s lineup of Torstein Tveiten on Vocals, Leif Herland on Guitar and Backing Vocals, Eirik Goksøyr on Guitar, Tomas Osland on Bass and Tore Lyngstad on Drums, have earned themselves a reputation as one of the heaviest bands in Norway.
With the band having completed their latest album, Dark Essence Records have today announced details of what will be BISMARCK’s third full-length release. Slated to hit the streets on the 3rd May, “Vourukasha” promises to be an amp melting form of stoner doom, combined with atmospheric post-rock, and with a hint of Middle Eastern folk music and the Norwegian black metal the band grew up listening to.
As a hint of what to expect, Dark Essence have today released a single from the album. Titled “Sky Father”, the single can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at: https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Bismarck_Sky-Father
This is what BISMARCK had to say about the single:
“Sky Father” is the divine wrath, the flood to come, and the fall of man. Its aggressive nature and ferocity coming to life with the help of Aslak (Ondt Blod), as he summons the unavoidable calamity.
“Vourukasha” is an album that amply showcases BISMARCK’s music. With its exploration of western esotericism, altered states of consciousness and a mystical apocalypse, “Vourukasha’s” lyrical content acts as the perfect foil to the band’s sound, which alternates between intense, fuzzed-out heaviness, and clean, atmospheric drones.
As the band explained
“Vourukasha” is a work born from curiosity, hard work, and sheer determination. It will take you on a metaphysical journey through space and time. From the darkest depths of the sea to the endless cosmic void. Join us, and dive into the Heavenly Sea.
With artwork by Vaderetro, track listing for “Vourukasha” is as follows:
Sky Father

The Tree of All Seeds

“Vourukasha” will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Splatter Vinyl formats and can now be pre-ordered from:
SAXON have unleashed the video for “Madame Guillotine”, the third single from the band’s critically-acclaimed 24th studio album, Hell, Fire And Damnation – out now via Silver Lining Music.
Hell, Fire And Damnation is an album which sees Saxon investigate all areas of history and mystery amidst ten of their most confident and thunderously powerful songs yet. In “Madame Guillotine”, lead singer and founding member Biff Byford, chooses to give voice to the infamous torturing device, best known for its use in the French Revolution between 1789 and 1799.
“There’s so much music out there about hell and the devil and the occult that I just thought it’s about time somebody wrote one about the battle just between good and evil!” explains Biff. “You can’t sing about the devil without singing about the good guy either, and the song basically says ‘make your choice’. We all have to make the choice, are we evil or are we good? The song’s about that fight.”
