THE QUILL Release New Single + Video ‘Elephant Head’

THE QUILL present “Elephant Head”, the second single from the upcoming album “Wheel Of Illusion”, out 29.03. at Metalville Records.

A bit on the lighter side with a really catchy chorus. This was the last song written for the album at the very last rehearsal before the band started recording. There’s a bit of basic rock n’ roll to this one which hasn’t been present in The Quill’s sound for quite some time.

The iconic Swedish hard rock band, unveils their musical prowess in their highly anticipated 11th album, “Wheel of Illusion.” With a storied history dating back to the early ’90s, The Quill has consistently pushed boundaries, blending powerful riffs and soulful melodies.

Roger – „Making new music is always hard work – but by now we all know what we need to make a great album. The writing-process is really where we gel as a band. We’ve always loved banging out ideas together in rehearsals – it’s always been a team effort with everyone pitching in trying to make every song the best possible.“

“Wheel of Illusion” promises to be a sonic journey, showcasing the band’s evolution while staying true to their hard rock roots. From the thunderous drum beats to the searing guitar solos, each track is a testament to The Quill’s enduring commitment to delivering a raw and authentic sound.

Christian – „Even though we have a well defined sound by now, firmly rooted in the classic rock of the 70’s, we always try to find new ways of adding sounds and influences to our music. This time we found hints of early British NWOBHM creeping in, we also used some old vintage keyboards which added a bit of a different flavour to keep things fresh.“

The album explores themes of introspection, resilience, and the enigmatic nature of reality. With lyrics that resonate and music that captivates, “Wheel of Illusion” is poised to become a defining chapter in The Quill’s musical legacy.

Jolle – „We were extremely well rehearsed before entering the studio – which is not always the case. For Earthrise we started with sketches in the studio, this time it was the opposite – we worked really hard arranging the songs in rehearsals so once we entered the studio the process was quick and to the point.“

As the band continues to carve their niche in the international rock scene, this album reaffirms their status as pioneers of the Swedish hard rock movement. “Wheel of Illusion” is not just an album; it’s a testament to The Quill’s unwavering passion for creating music that transcends time and resonates with fans worldwide.

DAVID REECE releases his new album “Baptized By Fire” – 12 heavy metal highlights that he wants to celebrate live as often as possible. The beginning has a certain metal romanticism about it. He has chosen Minnesota in the USA for the release concert. A journey into his own past – this is where his musical career began in the early eighties.

In his own words, it sounds like this:
“Greetings everyone around the globe I thought I would take a few moments to speak about the journey of rock’n’roll. As i sit here in my hotel room in Minnesota I can’t help but reflect on the fact that my journey in music began here in the early 80’s.Those days were full of wonder where a kid named David Reece was playing six to seven nights per week in the local Minnesota scene and throughout the midwest doing covers and trying to write my own songs and scratch a living out at the same time.Through the journey I’ve met many many wonderful people because music is the Universal language we all understand.I begin Friday night March 1 2024 by playing Route 47 in Fridley Minnesota and looks like many many old friends and new friends will attend.I am also pleased to announce that March 1 is the official release date of my latest works Baptized by Fire on El Puerto records worldwide! The media has been amazing my band is amazing and the fans are amazing! Also March 1 our second video single We’ve lost the fight will coincide with everything so watch for You tube and listen to this great song! Not much more needs to be said about David Reece. Since the late 80s, his charismatic voice has enhanced successful albums by ACCEPT, Bangalore Choir, Bonfire and the Sainted Sinners, among others. In addition to this, however, he also continued to focus on his solo career. As the cover and title “Baptized by Fire” already suggest, his latest album is significantly “heavier” than its two predecessors. Twelve new songs full of power, mature and varied. One reason for this is certainly his new band line-up. With the release of melancholic new single ‘This River Spoke’, melodic metal outfit The Moor keep building anticipation ahead of their album release, now just a fortnight away. Following the fast-paced and relentless ‘The Overlord Disease’ and the darker title track ‘Ombra,’ third single ‘This River Spoke’ brings forward more classic sounds within a steady heavy song combined with lyrics that remain consistent with the concept of the album.

Enrico Longhin (vocals) states: “We chose this song as the third single because we believe it’s a powerful track with a clear and strong message, suitable for previewing an album like Ombra. BURN DOWN EDEN Release Single + Video ‘Reap The Apocalypse’ & Announce “Dismal” EP

Burn Down Eden return with an uncompromising thrash assault in the form of a new EP, Dismal, which is set for a 5th April release via Seek and Strike. The first look into this new offering comes via the blistering track, ‘Reap The Apocalypse’ out today.

This song is the perfect representation of this EP’s overall sound and vibe, which is loaded with highly energetic thrash metal excellence. Burn Down Eden are ushering in a new era of German thrash with their unique, bombastic brand of metallic ferocity.

Burn Down Eden state: “Our new track, ‘Reap the Apocalypse,’ started as a demo with the marching triplet main riff leading into the catchy and epic chorus. That unit set the vibe and everything else was constructed around it. ‘Reap the Apocalypse’ tells the story about a cult and how the people within it are just blindly following a con-artist to only end up losing all their money, belief in society and will to live. It was soon pretty obvious that this is going to be a single, since it’s a straight banger that represents Burn Down Eden‘s best aspects. It’s catchy and melodic, yet filled with sinister shredding paired with infernal blast beats.

“The riffs and melodies had a similar feel to our previous release Sermonize, just more coherent and taken to the next level. We ultimately decided to break this full-length album into two EPs. The first EP, Dismal, features the more darker and intense songs, as opposed to the next EP, Epiphany, which has more of the grandiose and upbeat tracks. In the end, you’re going to have one mighty, full-length album, Dismal Epiphany.

“If you’re listening to them back to back, it feels like one thrilling rollercoaster ride. It’s a cauldron full of technical riffs, neoclassical shredding, exotic scales, clever harmonies, groovy headbangers and lethal high-speed blasts. That’s what Burn Down Eden is all about!”
