Iconic Italian death-grinders UNDERTAKERS premiere their new single “Pet Sematary” (Ramones cover) at THIS LOCATION!

The band commented:

“The Ramones have consistently embodied the spirit that so fascinates Undertakers: a sharp punk attitude combined with an imagery steeped in darkness and sickness. ‘Pet Sematary’ represents the perfect example of what makes them unique, being a sort of experiment in creating a punk rock ballad that manages to unanimously capture the attention of listeners, becoming an icon in the collective music landscape. Furthermore, the participation of Karim Qqru, drummer of The Zen Circus, fills us with pride, further enriching the depth and variety of our musical experience”.

“Pet Sematary” is UNDERTAKERS‘ first release since “Dictatorial Democracy”, issued in 2020 via Time To Kill Records.
“Dictatorial Democracy” features a few brand new songs, old classics from the band’s back catalogue and a couple of acclaimed cover songs: “Fascist Pig”, originally by Suicidal Tendencies, and “Ripetutamente” by Neapolitan band 99 Posse.

The current UNDERTAKERS line-up features longtime members Enrico Giannone (vocals) and Stefano Casanica (guitar), along with Marco Mastrobuono (bass) and Demian Campora (drums) for live performances.

UNDERTAKERS were formed way back in 1991 and throughout their career they have had the opportunity to share the stage with Napalm Death, Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Vader, Cannibal Corpse and Vital Remains, among many others. When for most Italian groups playing abroad was pretty much a dream, UNDERTAKERS completed three European tours and played festivals such as Brutal Assault and Dynamo Open Air in the first part of their career.

UNDERTAKERS started as a classic death metal band, but over the years their sound has become a frenetic and brutal mix of grind, death metal and hardcore.

AMARANTHE Release New Album “The Catalyst”, Reveal Music Video for Title Track

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE’s storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

“We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time,” Mörck grins. “In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous.”

ALCEST Announce New Album “Les Chants De L’Aurore”, Share New Song + Video ‘L’Envol’

This summer will see the release of a long awaited gem: Today, French shoegaze/indie act ALCEST announce the release of their seventh album Les Chants De L’Aurore for June 21st. 

Neige states:
“‘L’Envol’ is a musical return to the atmosphere of Alcest’s first albums. I wrote this song after an inspiring trip to Corsica, where I met amazing people and was surrounded by some of the most unique landscapes I have ever seen. It is about escaping from earthly reality to join a flock of mythical birds flying through the known boundaries of our world. The song is accompanied by a music video created by the talented French artist Yoann Lossel, who also designed the album cover. For this first single release, we wanted the music, lyrics and visuals to be as coherent and immersive as possible. All the tracks on Les Chants de l’Aurore are very different from one another, but we thought this one would be a great introduction to the overall atmosphere and themes of the album.”

Atlanta, GA psychedelic thrash band SADISTIC RITUAL has today announced they’ll be releasing a split EP with Prosthetic alumni WORMWITCH on March 22. Alongside the split announcement SADISTIC RITUAL has shared the first single and lyric video, The Recusant, from the six-track offering.

PERPETUA Reveal New Single + Video ‘The Hell It Brings’

Perpetua are a burgeoning metallic force from Scotland that have cultivated a dynamic and unique sound that will quickly catch the attention of the metal community. Their much-anticipated new, full-length album, Resurgence, will be released 22nd March, and it all kicks off with the crushing, new single, ‘The Hell It Brings’ – out now.

Its video can be seen below and showcases the band’s distinctive songwriting prowess, as well as their live performance intensity. Prepare for a ferocious blast of modern metal excellence! 

Perpetua state: “This is a song about bad choices, depression and how far our minds can fall into despair as a result. Much like the overall lyrical content on the album, it’s very deep and dark. This track is in a lower tuning, featuring some of the grooviest and heaviest guitars on the album, making it a stand out single for us. Visually, we thought to lean into the despair. Showing how the mind can be twisted by opting to view it through augmented lenses and prisms. The pace of the video carrying forth the idea that life can be hard to keep up with. 

“This album is the culmination of all our efforts to create something special. It’s a fresh take on classic metal formulas with a modern twist. We felt that the aggressiveness and depth of the songs really stood out how we imagined. The layered choruses, the fast technical guitars, and the ferocious groove all blended together perfectly. We strived for a more technical and melodic approach in contrast to our previous work. The song structures are now more in-depth and progressively changing. Like the lyrical content, we feel the instrumental aspect of the song itself is very dark and moving.

“We were heavily focused on creating a combination of blistering fast riffs, death metal vocals and soaring chorus hooks. We wanted to write an album as technical and aggressively heavy as we could, and we feel that we reached that. We spent a lot of time digging into song structures, rearranging and making sure we were content with the final outcome of every song. We knew how important our first full-length album is and for that reason it had to be perfect. We hope you enjoy it and thanks for your support.”

In their own words, Young Medicine explains, “What does it mean to BE human? With AI and the potential melding of AI with humans, we figured we would dig back into the same ‘Not Human” territory we’ve treaded in the past, but from a different angle… This song a straight-up scream into the void for help and affirmation, pleading for someone to tell you what is real and that everything is okay (perfect).
