Singer-songwriter and guitarist Quinn Sullivan has announced ‘Salvation,’ a deeply personal and musically expansive new album that cements his evolution as an artist. Alongside this announcement comes the introduction of the album’s latest single, “Dark Love,” a song that encapsulates the allure and turmoil of a fraught love affair. “‘Dark Love’ is about those toxic relationships you can’t seem to leave,” Quinn shares. “It’s a story of two people who are so wrong for each other, but there’s that fire that keeps them together, even though they know it’s bad. We’ve all been there.”

Showcasing Sullivan’s continued mastery of blending storytelling with melody, set against the backdrop of his refined guitar skills that have become his signature, the announcement follows the release of the album’s lead single, “Salvation (Make Me Wanna Pray),” which laid the groundwork for this introspective project. Featuring the warm, swirling tones of a B3 organ and the expressive cries of a wah-wah pedal, “Salvation (Make Me Wanna Pray)” is a testament to Sullivan’s ability to honor the roots of rock and soul while innovating within the genre, heralding his matured musical direction.

Quinn’s journey in music has been marked by a steady progression and a deepening of his artistic expression. Known for his exceptional guitar talent from a young age, Sullivan has earned acclaim for his performances and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music. His previous album, ‘Wide Awake,’ showcased his ability to blend his musical influences and skills in a way that pushed his creative boundaries. The album was well-received, highlighting Sullivan’s capacity for storytelling and musical exploration.

Since ‘Wide Awake,’ Sullivan has continued to evolve, taking his music on the road and gathering new experiences that inform his work. His recent involvement with the new ensemble Trouble No More, sanctioned by the Allman Brothers to carry on their live-performance legacy and introduce their music to a new generation, has further enriched his sonic palette. This collaboration infuses his work with a taste of the timeless soul and depth of classic rock.

HERO IN ERROR Release New Single ‘Enemy Within’, Self Titled EP Out April 5th

Ireland/UK five-piece ‘Hero In Error’ have finally released the first new music from the band since 2019, as well as news of a self-titled EP set for April 5th release. With a four year hiatus now behind them, Hero In Error have finally released long-awaited new music ‘Enemy Within‘ featuring Kaan Tasan (Heart of a Coward) on vocals, guitarist’s Gary Reagan and Rob Powderly, bassist Jay Doyle and drummer, Stephen Reilly.

Speaking of the new single, guitarist Gary Regan says; “Enemy Within” is one of those songs that just happened organically for us. We stumbled upon a riff that sounded cool, and from there, the rest of the song fell into place effortlessly.
While we did make some adjustments during the guitar tracking process, the essence of the song remained unchanged since we first demoed it. Interestingly, it ended up being the last song we wrote for the EP. It’s an absolute blast to play, and we’re excited to share it with everyone”.

Not only is the new single out today, but the band can now reveal a new self-titled EP will be available from April 5th featuring three new tracks (including ‘Enemy Within‘).

This past November, the band announced their return to the live stage with their first appearance at UK’s Takedown Festival in Portsmouth Guildhall on April 13th & 14th. They will share a bill with the likes of Creeper, Dinosaur Pile Up, Kid Kapachi, Employed to Serve, Hell is for Heroes, Urne, Pupil Slicer, Grove Street, Cassyette, Terrorvision, Black Gold, A, Dream State, and many more.

Says the band on returning to the live stage: “It’s been a long time coming and it’s never felt so right. This is something that’s been hibernating inside of us for so long, and now we get to let it out. We are very excited to perform our first live show in years at Takedown Festival, alongside some incredible artists.”

Hero in Error will be performing at Takedown Fest on Sunday, April 14th on the “Metal For Good” stage. For further information, stage times, tickets etc, please visit this link.

Shortly after, the band will embark on a run of three dates in Ireland taking in The Workmans Venue, Dublin on April 18th, Limerick, Dolans Warehouse 19th, and Fred Zeppelins on 20th. Support on all three Irish dates comes from Worn Out. Tickets are on sale now.

Hero in Error, a metal-hardcore band formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 2007, embodies a fusion of intensity and innovation. Founded by Stephen Reilly and Gary Regan, the band’s inception was fueled by the desire to blend the diverse styles of Mastodon, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sikth.

Their journey began with the release of their debut EP produced by Justin Hill, “The High Points of New Lows,” in 2010, a project that captured the attention of the local metal scene, and led to their signing with Mediaskare Records in the U.S. the following year. Alongside this achievement, the band also earned the opportunity to support established acts like Mastodon, Parkway Drive, Architects, and The Ghost Inside. The addition of Rob Powderly in 2011, further solidified the band’s lineup.

Despite a promising start, Hero in Error encountered a challenging phase with member changes, leading to a hiatus from 2013 to 2016. This interlude, however, was not the end but a prelude to a resurgence. The band re-emerged with renewed vigor introducing vocalist Kaan Tasan (Heart of a Coward).

Their return was marked by the release of “Hollow Truth” in 2016, and was soon followed by the 2017 EP, “Obey”. These releases were not just a continuation, but a reinvention, showcasing a band that had matured and evolved in their sound.

HERO IN ERROR are
Robert Powerdly – Guitar
Kaan Tasan – Vocals
Gary Regan – Guitars
Jay Doyle – Bass
Stephen Reilly – Drums

GENTLE GIANT Release Video for ‘Memories Of Old’, Remixed Album “The Missing Piece” Out on March 29th

GENTLE GIANT have released their video for ‘Memories Of Old‘, album ‘The Missing Piece‘ remixed by Steven Wilson is released on 29th March on Chrysalis Records.

Unfortunately, the highly anticipated release of the Steven Wilson remix of “The Missing Piece” has been postponed until March 29th due to unforeseen manufacturing delays beyond the band’s control.

In 1977 Gentle Giant recorded their ninth studio album “The Missing Piece”. It was a time of change. Punk, disco and rap were altering the musical landscape and even this well-established progressive rock band were willing to explore new directions. Side one saw them experimenting with quirky pop (“Two weeks in Spain”), a grandiose power ballad (“I’m turning around’), syncopated funk (“Who do you think you are?”) and even the punky aggression of “Betcha thought we couldn’t do it.” Meanwhile the call and response soul shouting of “Mountain Time” hearkened back to the “big sound” of their Simon Dupree R & B revue days.

Preorder here: https://GentleGiantUK.lnk.to/TMP

Check out the video for ‘Memories Of Old’ here:

Normal service was resumed on side two with some of their most sublime and intricate progressive stylings to date. The breezily baroque “As old as you’re young” led into the yearningly elegiac “Memories of Old Days” with a particularly heartfelt vocal from Derek Shulman. The percussive tour de force of “Winning” then set up the blazing finale of “For Nobody,” another mind blowing complex collection of driving intertwining riffs that the band would nonchalantly thunder through with apparent ease.

It remains a polarizing effort amongst fans to this day, some bemused by its diversity, others enchanted by its versatility and sense of humor. “The Missing Piece” certainly proves that Gentle Giant could play anything they set their minds to. It was the last Gentle Giant album to chart in the USA.

Award winning producer and musician Steven Wilson continues his association with the band, remixing the album in Dolby Atmos, Stereo and 5.1 surround sound. In addition, the digipak CD/Blu-ray version also contains an instrumental mix, the original 1977 stereo mix and videos for each track. All remixes except the Atmos contain a bonus track, a previously unreleased outtake of “Winning.”

Gentle Giant’s “The Missing Piece” Steven Wilson remix will be released on CD, 5.1 Blu-Ray and 180g vinyl on 29th March, 2024.

Continuing the story from “The Masquerade” CANTERVICE unveils the next chapter of their dystopian vision with the fierce single “Into The Dark.”

Purchase/Stream: https://link.fixtmusic.com/intothedark

The track establishes its strength with a fierce layer of synthesizers and a stunning vocal delivery from CANTERVICE coupled with thought provoking lyrics which put CANTERVICE on the forefront of songwriting and sonic storytelling.

“‘Into The Dark’ is a song set in the dystopian world of CANTERVICE, portraying a character who descends into the depths of madness and isolation in a society on the brink of collapse due to indoctrination from an authoritative government,” explains CANTERVICE. “Unlike their peers who have integrated with this new reality, the individual in question maintains a clear perception of the decline and the deceit at hand, seeking to remain immune to it. Despite the widespread state of despair, the character clings heavily to the world from before, believing there is hope for its return. As they too are slowly being reconditioned and losing touch with reality, this increasing disconnect from the world with which they desire to exist propels them into a mental breaking point.”

“Into The Dark” is an electrifying addition as the track seamlessly traverses diverse genres, creating a sonic fusion that is both innovative and powerful. The bands’ embrace of synthesizers in combination with thrashing guitars push an atmosphere of hope over fear. With a dynamic fusion of rock, metal, metalcore, alternative metal, and hard rock, “Into The Dark” promises an immersive and energetic experience that defies genre constraints. Their story continues on “Into The  Dark.”

2024 marks twenty years of BLOODBOUND. Twenty years in which the Swedish power metal export has left a lasting impression on fans and the worldwide metal scene. The band can call ten studio albums their own, as well as numerous frenetically-acclaimed festival appearances and tours. Last year alone, the band played a major gig at Masters of Rock Festival, which is featured on their upcoming anniversary live album and Blu-Ray, entitled “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood (2004 – 2024)”! Due out on April 19, 2024 via powerhouse label AFM Records, the pre-sale is now available at https://bloodbound.bfan.link/the-tales-of-nosferatu

With songs like “Nosferatu”, “The Warlock’s Trail”, “Battle in the Sky”, or new songs of the band’s discography like “Drink with the Gods”, BLOODBOUND – who were formed in 2004 by keyboard player Fredrik Bergh and guitarist Tomas Olsson – have quickly established their sound in the world of heavy music. Not only because of their immense talent, but also because of their own affiliation to the metal scene, a dedication that comes with it and the skills to write incredibly good power metal songs.

“What a ride it has been! 10 studio albums, shows in over 25 countries and chart entries from all over the world. When I look back at the last 20 years, I can only say how proud I am of what we have created!” Fredrik Bergh comments. “We’re super excited to celebrate 20 years of Bloodbound with this release – together with YOU – our fans! Without you we’re nothing!”

In support, BLOODBOUND are now premiering a single taken off “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood”. The anniversary live version of the band’s classic “The Warlock’s Trail”, out now on all digital services at https://bloodbound.bfan.link/the-warlock-s-trail, is now streaming here:

Their first studio album, “Nosferatu”, was released in 2005, followed by nine more offerings such as “Creatures of the Dark Realm”, “Rise of the Dragon Empire” or “Tales from the North”. To celebrate their special birthday in 2024, and while BLOODBOUND have also made a name for themselves as a great, highly entertaining live act, “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood” will be the perfect prove to that. This live album and Blu-Ray perfectly reflect the highlights of their career and high-voltage stage energy. In addition to the entire Masters of Rock show, the Blu-Ray also includes excerpts from a past Japan performance and all of BLOODBOUND‘s music videos released to date.

As a special and unique gift to their dedicated fanbase, the upcoming BLOODBOUND release will also include a comic, which was created by long-time companion and designer Péter Sallai. It tells the story of how the band’s mascot Nossen came to be; tastefully illustrated and with a story tailored to the band and their songs, this work is an absolute must-have piece of art!

SLOMOSA Unleash Gripping New Single ‘Rice’

Since their sudden appearance on the scene with the self-titled debut album in 2020, Norwegian desert rock upstarters SLOMOSA have hit the ground running with frenetically-acclaimed festival appearances and relentless tours with more than 130 shows in twenty countries alongside bands such as Orange Goblin, Elder, Sasquatch or Stöner. This May, they will headline the first ever edition of Desertfest Oslo, and will play many more headlining tour dates. Find all upcoming SLOMOSA live shows listed below!

Now, following their signing with Stickman Records and the previously-released, popular video single, “Cabin Fever”, the four-piece is premiering their brand new song “Rice”! Taken off the band’s upcoming, sophomore full-length, which they recently recorded at Polyfon Studio in their hometown of Bergen, SLOMOSA continue where they left off after “Cabin Fever”: One killer riff after the other with a heaviness and explosive choruses that draw lines back to 90s rock waves! SLOMOSA guitarist and singer Ben Berdous comments about the track:

“Together with long-time producer Eirik Marinius, we turned Rice into a grungy spin-off of some classic desert rock influences of ours. It’s an up-beat song with a different vocal approach than our previous up-beat songs, blended with riffs after riffs, becoming our tundra rock machinery. We find it to be a breath of fresh air and we’re glad to be playing on more strings as our songwriting continues to develop and mature. Rice is a song of divide and broken friendships, written as the ultimate sigh when push comes to shove.”

SLOMOSA‘s forthcoming studio album is slated for a 2024-release on Stickman Records. To shorten your wait, their new single “Rice”, that just premiered with Invisible Oranges, is out now and available on all digital services at: https://bfan.link/rice

Some may call it Stonerpop, others Grunge. No matter how you will label the genre, “Rice” is another perfect sample that showcases the flair and quality of the Bergen-based band, who took European stoner rock scene by storm with their energetic and wild live shows.

SLOMOSA‘s music has even captured the attention of rock greats like Tool guitarist Adam Jones, who recently shared his enthusiasm for the band on his social media, or Kyuss legends Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri, who have expressed their love for SLOMOSA‘s sound and riffs. With a steadily growing fanbase from all over the world, more than 8,500,000 Spotify streams alone, the future is definitely bright for the band between the seven mountains.
