Known for their dynamic blend of intense riffs and melodic harmonies, Sable Hills continue to redefine the boundaries of metalcore, captivating fans across the globe. Odyssey promises to be a groundbreaking addition to their discography, showcasing their unique style and musical prowess. Fans are eagerly counting down the days to the full album release, anticipating a collection of tracks that will further cement Sable Hills‘ status as titans of their genre.

Guitarist Rict comments: “The new song ‘No Turning Back’ is full of energy. You can mosh, stagedive, circlepit, singalong, whatever you want to do in metal/hardcore live. The song is fast and short, within 3 minutes. And we feature one of the metalcore legends as well as our goodfriend Trevor Phipps of Unearth on the song. We toured with Unearth in Japan and Taiwan. And making the friendship, this happened. So honored to feature him at this time, and so excited to see how people react to the song.”

Sable Hills have captivated audiences with their electrifying headline tours, notably Chaos J.P. 2023, which featured the likes of Like Moths To Flames and Knosis, led by Ryo Kinoshita, former vocalist of Crystal Lake. This tour marked an important return to Japan for these acts after a long hiatus.

The band’s ascent to prominence was ignited by their debut album EMBERS (2019), which received widespread acclaim and positioned them at the pinnacle of Japan’s metal scene, allowing them to share the stage with renowned Japanese bands such as coldrain, Crystal Lake, and international heavyweights Fit For A King and After The Burial. Appearing at major festivals Bloodaxe Festival at Club Citta Kawasaki and True North Festival at Shin-Kiba Studio Coast further enhanced their reputation.

The release of their second album DUALITY marked another high point in their career. The album’s release tour, extending from Japan to Europe, included performances at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic. At Wacken2022, Sable Hills achieved an historic victory, winning the METAL BATTLE 2022, a first for a Japanese band.

In 2023, the band kept on striving forward, selling out their show at Spotify O-WEST and performing at major festivals including coldrain‘s BLARE FEST, KNOTFEST and at Wacken Open Air for the second consecutive year. Their very own FRONTLINE FESTIVAL at Kawasaki Club Citta was a resounding success, attracting close to 1000 attendees.

ANGMODNES Premiere New Video for ‘The Hours’

Dutch funeral doom metal act ANGMODNES are gearing up to drop their new album “Rot Of The Soul” on March 1st 2024 via Meuse Music Records and Tragedy Productions.

The album is shrouded in despair and shows the band offering their most textured and innovative release to date.

Today, ANGMODNES are premiering the new single “The Hours” at Everything Is Noise. Watch the video HERE.

The album’s opening track, “Beneath”, is still available at THIS LOCATION.

Tracklist:

01. Beneath
02. The Hours
03. Agony Of The Sun
04. Stagnant
05. Rot Of The Soul

ANGMODNES is a doom metal band formed in 2013 in Utrecht (The Netherlands).

The band was formed by the collaboration of Y.S. (Wilds Forlorn, Apotelesma), M.V. (Apotelesma, Koudvuur) and F.S.
Tragic, anguished and desperate sounding, ANGMODNES came into being as the despondent offshoot of another band, Apotelesma.

After the well received debut “The Weight Of Eternity”, released in 2022, which featured mostly material written nine years earlier, Y.S. And M.V. found themselves rediscovering a love for all things slow and unexpectedly tapped into a wellspring of inspiration.

Following in the wake of “The Weight Of Eternity”, “Rot Of The Soul” builds upon the style and atmosphere present on the debut while at times venturing beyond the typical territories of doom metal.

Spanning over 55 minutes, it takes the listener on a journey through the mind of someone suffering from severe depression, haunted by existential dread and sinking ever deeper into a mire of negation and worldly rejection.

F.S., whose ethereal, haunting vocals could already be heard on “The Weight of Eternity”, lent her voice once more for the new album. With her vocals being such an integral part of the sound of ANGMODNES, it was time to fully bring F.S. into the fold as a band member.

LEE AARON to Release New Studio Album “Tattoo Me” on April 26th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 10, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Lee Aaron. Leave a comment

LEE AARON will release the new studio album “Tattoo Me” on 26.04.2024 on Metalville Records.

“Songs are like tattoos” – the famous first line of Joni Mitchell’s Blue – is a sentiment that has always resonated deeply for Canadian rocker Lee Aaron.

18 Albums into her career, Aaron has written, recorded and produced music achieving gold and multi-platinum sales. Recognized as one of Canada’s top rock vocalists she’s also made forays into jazz, blues, and even opera, receiving numerous awards and accolades and most recently, a 2023 induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame.

“The one thing I’d never done was a full covers album,” says Aaron. “It seemed like a really cool and super fun project to tackle at this point…”

Taking a nostalgic journey, Tattoo Me pays homage to musical trailblazers who helped shape her own artistic path. As a reflection of her eclectic taste, yet in keeping with a profound respect for the greats, these 11 dynamic tracks are a unique tapestry of influences that transcend era and genre.

“It started out as a heartfelt nod to artists we’d been influenced by in our youth, but the truth is, we didn’t stop being influenced or being fans at 18, so the list kept evolving. It covers a few decades and a few unconventional choices, but it was incredibly rewarding to make!” she states.

Each track is a labor of love, infused with Aaron and her band’s signature rock ’n’ roll swagger, yet in keeping with a sense of reverence for the originals.

The album was produced by Aaron in her Vancouver studio and mixed by multi-media genius Frank Gryner (Rob Zombie, L7, Def Leppard, Larkin Poe, Ian Hunter and more).

“One of the positive things that came out of the pandemic was that we all upgraded our home studios and got very good at engineering and recording ourselves. No one was under the pressure of a studio clock, so the performances are as genuine as they’re gonna get.”

From the sizzling blues-rock of 1960’s Nina Simone’s “The Pusher,” to the rebellious energy of 1972 Alice Cooper’s “Is it My Body,” Aaron growls, purrs, whispers and wails, sounding like she’s having an absolute blast infusing these songs with her own fiery spirit. Her voice is as versatile and powerful as ever.

Standout tracks include a rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “What is and What Should Never Be,” Heart’s “Even it Up” and Hole’s “Malibu.” Stellar performances by Aaron’s long-term band: Sean Kelly (guitar), Dave Reimer (bass) and John Cody (drums) effortlessly channel these ’70s and 80’s rock giants and seem to capture the original magic of each of the tunes.

Another gem is Aaron’s take on Elton John’s “Someone Saved My Life Tonight.” Kelly’s gorgeous acoustic guitars create the soundscape, then strings and lush harmonies support her stirring vocal performance. The tribute is passionate and heart-felt. She reflects, “I spent hours and hours laying on my basement floor with headphones listening to “Someone Saved My Life Tonight” on repeat. I desperately wanted someone to save me from my boring life when I was a teenager…music ended up being that for me.”

The album also takes some unexpected turns, with delightful interpretations of songs from a diverse range of artists, including late 90’s Brit-Pop band Elastica, California’s 77’s and the Undertones. Each track echoes the vibe of the era while seamlessly fitting into the lineage of Aaron’s own storied career.

Tattoo Me is a sonic time capsule, bridging the decades. Once again, cementing her status as a rock ’n’ roll chameleon, Aaron blends the old and the new, proving not only that the transcendent power of music never stops, but that she herself isn’t ready to anytime soon.

THOR Unveil New Single ‘Ride Of The Iron Horse’ & Album Details

How do you celebrate a monumental 50-year milestone of metal mania? If you’re metal giant Thor, you release a new album that simultaneously looks forward and backward, celebrating the past and venturing into the uncharted future. Ride The Iron Horse puts Thor back in the saddle for another barnstorming metal album that marks 5 decades of metal dominance for the veteran musician. Alongside new compositions such as the rousing “5-0 Let’s Go,” the defiant “Shields Up” and the poignant ballad “No Time For Games” are some unreleased gems from Thor’s early years in the late ‘70s through the ‘80s that complete the circle of this spectacular album.

To celebrate the forthcoming release, today Thor releases the first single, the heavy title track, “Ride The Iron Horse,” that brings a hint of country music to the metal god’s electrifying repertoire. Featuring some stellar guitar work and production from cohort Kevin Stuart Swain, the single is a testament to Thor’s enduring legacy as both an artist and an inspirational figure for generations of metal musicians.

Stream/download the single: https://orcd.co/thor_rideoftheironhorsesingle

Thor reflects on this new album saying “There’s a lot of life left in this Iron Horse. It seems the 50 years went by in a flash. From Keep The Dogs Away to Ride Of The Iron Horse, there have been the highest of highs and sometimes the lowest of lows. But I kept riding through it all. The greatest moments I have had were  the incredible people I have met during my tours or correspondence online. The Thor Korr! They made it all worthwhile. For that, I thank you all. Keep riding the great white plaines!”

Ride Of The Iron Horse, the album, is set for full release on March 22 and will be available on both CD and vinyl. In a nod to the vibrant visuals that have always accompanied Thor’s music, the album features original art design by internationally renowned comic book artist Timo Wuerz. With his dynamic illustrations, Wuerz captures the essence of Thor’s larger-than-life persona, bringing a visual dimension to the sonic onslaught.

Friday, February 9, tAKiDA, one of Sweden’s largest and most successful rock bands, finally revealed their massive ninth studio album and Napalm Records debut, The agony flame! To celebrate the release, the quintet have unveiled their brand-new fourth single, “On the line”. The track presents fast-paced melody and intense vocals – building a highly-infectious hymn alongside its official music video.

tAKiDA will soon kick off their 2024 “Smoke & Mirrors Tour”, including an extended run through several major cities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Starting on April 2 in Offenbach, Germany, the band will be supported by the English band Those Damn Crows. Tickets are on sale now.

Ever since their start in 1999 and breaking into the scene with their first studio album, Make You Breathe (2006), tAKiDA has become one of Sweden’s top-notch export, garnering mind-blowing success in their home country with six platinum singles (one of them 4x platinum), three platinum albums and five #1 albums. In 2023, tAKiDA’s recent singles, cut from the upcoming album The agony flame, have exceeded the already extremely well-accomplished band’s previous international radio chart success, with “The loneliest hour” hitting #1 on German Rock Airplay Charts, and “Third strike” added to daily rotation at Antyradio – Poland’s biggest and most important rock radio channel. In summer 2023, tAKiDA conquered the mainstage of the legendary Wacken Open Air, performing in front of twenty thousand people. With the release of The agony flame in 2024, tAKiDA will not only celebrate 25 years of band history, but surpass their current success without the shadow of a doubt.
