ELECTRIC DEATHBEAT Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Cycle Of Loss’

Cycle Of Loss is the first single from the upcoming album A Ghost Triangle from Finnish group Electric Deathbeat. The song pretty much summarises the overall atmosphere of the album. Different vocal styles including clean, harsh and growl vocals, guitar and synth-driven melodies in a deathish combination with a twists of progressivity.

Lyrically, Cycle Of Loss is about the state where a person has sunken into depression and some twisted way even enjoys it and awaits more sorrow just to survive to the next day. The song was one of the first songs Juha composed to the album.

Available now at: Apple Music | Spotify | & other major stores

A Ghost Triangle | Released February 20th, 2024 via Sliptrick Records

March 22, 2024  will see symphonic metal vikings, LEAVES’ EYES, release their much-awaited, new studio album “Myths Of Fate” via AFM Records. The album pre-sale is available at https://leaveseyes.bfan.link/Myths-of-Fate! In support of their upcoming record release, LEAVES’ EYES have also announced an extensive touring schedule kicking off in March, find all live dates listed below!

Four years after bringing “The Last Viking” to Valhalla with their previous opus, LEAVES’ EYES resurrect with “Myths Of Fate” to celebrate their 20th year of existence. As the first singles such as “Forged By Fire”, “Realm Of Dark Waves” and today’s premiere of “Who Wants To Live Forever” prove, with their ninth studio album, the Germany-based act consolidates their leading position in the symphonic metal universe. Powerful, epic and impressive – the band once again merges traditional metal genres by fusing elements of folk, gothic, and classical music into a captivating sonic masterpiece!

With “Myths Of Fate”, the band set sails for new winds that definitely blow from the harsh shallows of the symphonic metal genre. The fantastic world of legends from Norse and Eastern European mythology is the setting for monumental entertainment: LEAVES’ EYES open up a world of magical places, spellbound weapons or supernatural creatures.

The band produced a total of five music videos with Mastersound Entertainment. Filmed on impressive locations in Iceland, Germany and Poland, they bring the myths captivatingly to the screen. Magic creatures, great battles and enchanting warrior queens come to live! Following the epic video for “Realm Of Dark Waves”, a new clip for the latest LEAVES’ EYES single, “Who Wants to Live Forever”, is now premiering here:

LEAVES’ EYES have always played in a league of their own. The international group has toured all populated continents, playing concerts in more than 50 countries, frequently reach top positions in the album charts and with every output they deliver a multimedia masterpiece when it comes to video clips and artwork.

In their multifaceted discography, LEAVES’ EYES naturally integrate various genres such as folk metal, Viking metal or symphonic metal into their unique sound creations. Legendary releases like “Vinland Saga” (2005) or “Njord” (2009) made them pioneers in their own league, a position they successfully confirmed with chart-breakers like “King Of Kings” (2015) or “Sign Of The Dragonhead” (2018). Their compositions are complex, though, always well balanced between heaviness and melodic atmosphere. Each of their mind-broadening lyrical concepts based on mediaeval mythology are thoroughly researched, offering their audience journeys to the past times of Vikings, myths and sagas.

Their live shows are spectacular events with breathtaking stage scenery, including a Viking ship or even the “Swords In Rock” monument from Norway. LEAVES’ EYES have been setting world history to music and undeniably, by doing so, have raced to the top of the symphonic metal tree.

Now, Alexander Krull once again exceeded his own standards in the producer’s chair. For the fine and complex compositions you will find on “Myths Of Fate”, he created an extraordinary and crystal-clear sound sphere with an undeniable live feeling. The band sounds raw and feisty, but still leaves space for affective atmospheres. The US soundtrack-multi-talent Jonah Weingarten contributes the impressive orchestral score that was created hand in hand with the metal arrangements. Moreover, Lea-Sophie Fischer (Eluveitie) on the fiddle and Thomas Roth’s play of the mediaeval Nyckelharpa add on mystical sounds to “Myths Of Fate”.

LEAVES’ EYES have created an entire universe of their own imagination that showcases their talent as storytellers and music perfectionists. No doubt, the band will leave an everlasting footprint in their own genre with this album. “Myths Of Fate” provides a dynamic soundtrack for a vivid escape into a magical world of mythology!

ARTILLERY Release “Raw Live (At Copenhell)”, Out Now + Reschedule 40th Anniversary North American Headlining Tour

ARTILLERY is not a band of many live albums, In fact, in over four decades, they have put out just one. Until now. So, when it’s bound to happen, it should be special. Enter “Raw Live (At Copenhell)”, out today. Recorded in 2022, just coming out of pandemics lockout, in one of the biggest metal festivals in their home country (and among the biggest metal festivals in Europe!), the live set by the Danes was impeccable. Sadly, it was also one of the last live appearances by drummer Josua Madsen, who was killed the next year in a car accident. It also marks a turning point for the veteran thrashers, who recently said goodbye to vocalist Michael Bastholm Dahl and guitar player Kraen Meier and are looking forward to an exciting new era ahead. But, for now, let’s bow before Josua’s monster performance at Copenhell in 2022 and hear it from Artillery’s guitar player and founder Michael Stützer about the release.

“The year was 2022, we got the offer to play at one of the world’s absolutely coolest metal festivals: Copenhell. Everything had been destroyed by COVID-19 in the years before. So, 2022 was the year we got busy.

Big festivals contacted us, German TV and so on. Rockhard, Sweden Rock, Brutal Assault and Copenhell.

Copenhell was big for us. To share the stage with bands like KISS, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, it hardly gets bigger. We sat down and decided to get the concert recorded, it had to be as raw as possible, authentic as hell and the hope was to be able to use the tracks as bonuses for future releases. Maybe as a live release. When we received the recording, we thought that the recording should be released as a concert, not as bonus tracks. Søren Andersen, our permanent producer, was put on the case. Sound levels had to be fixed a bit, but that was it. Søren said at one point, “Damn, Josh is ON FIRE!”. And he was!

Denmark’s biggest music magazine Gaffa gave the concert 5/6 stars and the headline was “The man is busy”. Josh played better than ever. Josua was killed in a car accident in 2023. Now the album is released, a little late, yes, but it’s a recording, which is as it should be when talking about Artillery. Raw, unpolished, straight in your face. Hence the name of the live record: “Raw Live (At Copenhell)”.

Artillery has been around for more than 40 years. The final chapter has not been written yet; just wait, there is more to Artillery. For example, a Metalized tour with friends from Manticora and new singer Martin Steene, known from Iron Fire and Force of Evil, as well as a larger USA tour. The album is a tribute to Josh, as well as a clenched fist in the air to our fans. Thanks Satan. Thanks to Mighty Music.
”

“Live Raw (At Copenhell)” is out today on CD, LP (black vinyl) and digital formats. It can be ordered here.

Recording lineup:
Michael Bastholm Dahl – vocals
Michael Stützer – lead guitars
Peter Thorslund – bass
Kraen Meier – lead guitars
Josua Madsen – drums

In addition, ARTILLERY are pleased to announce a North American headlining tour celebrating their 40th anniversary! The journey, initially scheduled to take place last Fall but postponed due to visa issues, begins March 27th in Austin, Texas, closes April 20th in Toronto, Ontario, and includes a performance at 2 Minutes To Tulsa Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma with more dates to be announced in the weeks to come. Support will be provided by Vapor and Potential Threat.

ARTILLERY guitarist Michael Stutzer comments, “We are really excited to get back to North America to celebrate 40 years of ARTILLERY’s thrash metal. We had an amazing time on our last tour and can’t wait to meet our diehard fans again.“

THE LAST ELEMENT Unleash Music Video for New Single ‘Slave’ Feat. Discrepancies

Following their their latest EP “Chapter 3: Solitude” (released by the end of 2023 via Drakkar Entertainment at THIS LOCATION), Amsterdam-based modern metal act THE LAST ELEMENT is presenting a music video for their brand new single “Slave”, featuring St. Louis-based rap / rock act Discrepancies!

“We wrote Slave three years ago and we are very excited to finally release it.” THE LAST ELEMENT comment. “Slave tells the story of being stuck in your head, constantly feeling like nothing you do is good enough. Telling myself to work harder and harder only to lose what I wanted to achieve, love and happiness.  Slave wrote itself, the perfect format to release the emotions and frustration.”

“Slave” is now available on all digital services at https://thelastelement.bfan.link/slave, the new music video is streaming here:

THE LAST ELEMENT started in 2018. Immediately they found common ground, both Jan (bass) and Jasper dealt with hardship in the past, each song they wrote was a way to lift a burden. Jan most notably dealt with the suicide of his life partner, and Jasper came from a history of child abuse and the fallout that created. They bonded over the troubles they lived but more importantly who it made them and what it made the band, they became stronger, the damage, the scars of their past gave the fuel to their music and helped them write what is closest to their hearts. THE LAST ELEMENT is the bond between them, and all the people who are scared to get hurt or that have to deal with misfortune, “we all heal when we are together, together we are stronger. Thus our music became the translation of those feelings, the dark, the heavy, the rage but also the light, the love and hope,” the band says.

Since their formation, THE LAST ELEMENT has reached +3 Million streams on Spotify alone and +10 million across platforms in a fully DIY-spirit. With these numbers increasing daily and previous releases added to editorial playlists such as “New Blood”, “New Core”, or “New Metal Tracks”, and following shows in support of acts such as Asking Alexandria, THE LAST ELEMENT is definitely levelling with established names in the genre on the way to determine their goal in life to share their music and lyrics with a global audience.

To shorten your wait for a new album to be released in the hopefully not so distant future, the band’s latest EP “Chapter 3: Solitude” is available on all digital services via:

THE LAST ELEMENT is:

Peruvian metal band Chaska is set to release new 6-track EP ‘Rites of June’ on May 5th 2024 via Finnish Inverse Records. The first official single taken from the EP ‘Nymph of the Lake is released today and music video can be seen below.

Hueso Raffo comments:
“Nymph of the Lake is a song inspired, in some way, by Lake Titicaca; for something of its mystery and its beauty. With this song an attempt was made to portray or create a fable or legend scenario. This song creates a watery and nocturnal environment, which evokes a certain feeling of intimacy. Another of its main characteristics is fiction. Its atmosphere surrounds two characters, male and female. The male character, within a dream or some kind of astral projection, tries to attenuate the loneliness of his soul. While the female character appears to fulfill or satisfy the wishes of the other one. Finally, both characters merge into a kind of astral travel to another dimension, or it could even be some kind of abduction, whose outcome becomes the departure of both characters to another reality out of this world we know.”

Annihilator’s JEFF WATERS to Release Three Solo Albums

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 2, 2024
Posted in: Int. News. Tagged: Jeff Waters, The Metal Voice. Leave a comment

For The Metal Voice former Anthrax singer Neil Turbin spoke Annihilator main man Jeff Waters at The NAMM Show 2024.

When asked about releasing new music
“New music, yes, but not with Annihilator. I’ve been doing this Annihilator thing for 35 years now since I put my little first album out called ‘Alice In Hell’ and I’m just gonna do a show (Annihilator) for a festival in Europe this year. But I’ve been working on what all us guys seem to wanna do when they wanna step away from a band they’re in, is a solo project. So I got a solo thing I’m doing. I finished three records in the last three years. And that’s coming out. I live in England. I’ve had a studio with my wife there for about six years. And just before (the coronavirus pandemic) hit, we brought in SSL exchange consoles and upgraded things and made it into one badass mixing studio. And then the thing hit. So I was kind of stuck with this beautiful studio and instruments and all this fun stuff. And I thought, Screw it. Now’s the time to just get creative and do something outside of the heavy metal thing. So it’s more hard rock stuff. It’s everything from disco to THE KNACK to KISS to, like, early stuff,  hard rock, heavy metal, ’70s, ’80s, a bit of VAN HALEN, of course. So it’s not groundbreaking, amazing new stuff that’s gonna come out for me. It’s more like a tribute in a way, in my own way.”

When asked who will be singing
“I got real singers. Stu Block, who was in Iced Earth and Into Eternity and all that, a fellow Canadian and a great singer, I tapped him.”

When asked when the albums will be released
“I think the first album starts coming out, I think, summer. I don’t know a lot of information because I decided to do something a little different. I tried to go with the first album to a few record companies, and it was, like, Oh, boy, this isn’t the old days. So instead of just trying to just let it go and let it get out there and know that nothing was really gonna happen, I tried a different idea, and I went to video game companies. And I thought, Hey, what if I did an album, or three, and gave you the album covers, gave you the booklets, gave you the trademark, the name of the band, the logo, and now you can have all three of them. It’s gone. I don’t get royalties, I don’t get anything if it does well, but I want one paycheck.’ And the second company I went to — without being a dick, we got more money from the video game company than I did in five or six Annihilator records. So somebody paid me to do a solo album more than my real band. They just paid the bills and it helped pay for that console I was telling you about.”
