Peruvian metal band Chaska is set to release new 6-track EP ‘Rites of June’ on May 5th 2024 via Finnish Inverse Records. The first official single taken from the EP ‘Nymph of the Lake is released today and music video can be seen below.

Hueso Raffo comments:
“Nymph of the Lake is a song inspired, in some way, by Lake Titicaca; for something of its mystery and its beauty. With this song an attempt was made to portray or create a fable or legend scenario. This song creates a watery and nocturnal environment, which evokes a certain feeling of intimacy. Another of its main characteristics is fiction. Its atmosphere surrounds two characters, male and female. The male character, within a dream or some kind of astral projection, tries to attenuate the loneliness of his soul. While the female character appears to fulfill or satisfy the wishes of the other one. Finally, both characters merge into a kind of astral travel to another dimension, or it could even be some kind of abduction, whose outcome becomes the departure of both characters to another reality out of this world we know.”

Annihilator’s JEFF WATERS to Release Three Solo Albums

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 2, 2024
Posted in: Int. News. Tagged: Jeff Waters, The Metal Voice. Leave a comment

For The Metal Voice former Anthrax singer Neil Turbin spoke Annihilator main man Jeff Waters at The NAMM Show 2024.

When asked about releasing new music
“New music, yes, but not with Annihilator. I’ve been doing this Annihilator thing for 35 years now since I put my little first album out called ‘Alice In Hell’ and I’m just gonna do a show (Annihilator) for a festival in Europe this year. But I’ve been working on what all us guys seem to wanna do when they wanna step away from a band they’re in, is a solo project. So I got a solo thing I’m doing. I finished three records in the last three years. And that’s coming out. I live in England. I’ve had a studio with my wife there for about six years. And just before (the coronavirus pandemic) hit, we brought in SSL exchange consoles and upgraded things and made it into one badass mixing studio. And then the thing hit. So I was kind of stuck with this beautiful studio and instruments and all this fun stuff. And I thought, Screw it. Now’s the time to just get creative and do something outside of the heavy metal thing. So it’s more hard rock stuff. It’s everything from disco to THE KNACK to KISS to, like, early stuff,  hard rock, heavy metal, ’70s, ’80s, a bit of VAN HALEN, of course. So it’s not groundbreaking, amazing new stuff that’s gonna come out for me. It’s more like a tribute in a way, in my own way.”

When asked who will be singing
“I got real singers. Stu Block, who was in Iced Earth and Into Eternity and all that, a fellow Canadian and a great singer, I tapped him.”

When asked when the albums will be released
“I think the first album starts coming out, I think, summer. I don’t know a lot of information because I decided to do something a little different. I tried to go with the first album to a few record companies, and it was, like, Oh, boy, this isn’t the old days. So instead of just trying to just let it go and let it get out there and know that nothing was really gonna happen, I tried a different idea, and I went to video game companies. And I thought, Hey, what if I did an album, or three, and gave you the album covers, gave you the booklets, gave you the trademark, the name of the band, the logo, and now you can have all three of them. It’s gone. I don’t get royalties, I don’t get anything if it does well, but I want one paycheck.’ And the second company I went to — without being a dick, we got more money from the video game company than I did in five or six Annihilator records. So somebody paid me to do a solo album more than my real band. They just paid the bills and it helped pay for that console I was telling you about.”

Dutch avant-garde death metal act THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT are proudly presenting their brand new album ‘’The Demon Who Makes Trophies Of Men’’ which will be out on April 5, 2024 via Human Detonator Records.

Pre-orders for the “New” album are now available HERE

The band have just released the title track of the album, which comes in the form of a music video and can now be found HERE. The track is also available on all other digital platforms HERE.

THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT states: “Time hath passed on since the scandalous lies about the V-trilogy (which wasn’t a trilogy). But the stars have once again aligned, and what an ageold cult failed to do by design, a band of untalented “musicians” has done by accident. The great Monolith Deathcult is on the mediocre loose again. The three-headed death machine unleashes supreme aural terror through a blasphemous new track “The Demon Who Makes Trophies Of Men”.

The cult is alive. All hail the cult! ”

Track-list:

  1. The Demon Who makes Trophies of Men (6:09) [WATCH]
  2. Commanders Encircled with Foes (7:06)
  3. Kindertodeslied MMXXIV (6:22)
  4. The Nightmare Corpse-city of R’lyeh (4:18)
  5. Gogmagog – The Bryansk Forest Re-visited (7:16)
  6. Matadorrrr (4:27) [WATCH]
  7. Three-Headed Death Machine (4:41) [WATCH]
  8. I Spew Thee out of my Mouth MMXXIII (8:24) [WATCH]
Cover artwork: Frank te Riet @ http://www.brandstichters.design

THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT is a blood-chilling super-spectacle and the ominous last sorry chapter in the once-proud musical landscape. Despite being nominated countless times for “ the honourable Covid-escape” THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT stays relevant and like the most avanced shape-shifter, it reinvented itself musically countless times.

Their “music” is THE soundtrack of The Great Rese(n)t, a stunning exercise in astonishing musically wrong-headedness. Illogical, tension-free, and filled with colossal cut-rate Pro Tools editing, but it lacks the prurience and unintentional laughs that might make it a guilty pleasure.

What they will built back better is a new artistic empire of shocking embarrassment and unnecessarily. Their message is as blunt and brutal as a lead pipe: We, The Monolith Deathcult, are the new invincible gods.

THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT’s previous smash hits “Fist of Stalin”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Ashes”, “Connect the Goddamn Dots” heading towards 2,000,000 streams on Spotify and the best is yet to come.

ENDLESS LOSS to Release Debut Album “Traversing the Mephitic Artery” on March 25th

Australia’s ENDLESS LOSS are set to release their debut album “Traversing the Mephitic Artery” in CD (digisleeve limited to 400 hand-numbered copies) and tape format on March 25th 2024 via Nuclear Winter Records.

The first single, “Vertiginous Depths Of Unchained Hedonism“, is now streaming HERE.

Tracklist:

01. Oppugned Sentience (Intro)
02. Nexus Webs Of Malefic Prescience
03. Vertiginous Depths Of Unchained Hedonism
04. Grave Subjugation
05. Looming Ire
06. Mouldering Resurrection
07. Traversing The Mephitic Artery
08. Sepulchre Of Violent Consummation
09. Impenitent Draconian Triumph

Bestial black/death two-piece ENDLESS LOSS has earned a strong underground reputation for their vicious releases and savage live shows. The band was born in 2015 in the bleak industrial wasteland of Adelaide, Australia.
The pair released their first tape “Solitary Starless Beast” in 2016, with Decibel Magazine praising the raw-sounding demo for its “charred black and bestial spirit.”
The outfit followed this up in 2022 by heading further into war metal territory with their EP “Bloodletting Narcotic Divination”. No Clean Singing celebrated the release for being “brutally bludgeoning and psychotically violent”.
From there, ENDLESS LOSS toured doggedly across Australia and joined other Adelaide metal heavyweights Charnel Altar for the co-headlined Metaphysical Warfare Tour in early 2023.
The band recorded nine tracks in the chaotic days leading up to the tour. These songs, which strike hard with poisonous, hypnotic riffs and sharply aimed violence, are to be released on ENDLESS LOSS‘ debut, full-length album “Traversing the Mephitic Artery”. Expect 28 minutes of barbaric bloodshed.

MARK DALY Releases New Single ‘I Wanna Be More’, Out Today, Currently Touring with MR. BIG

Mark Daly is proud to announce the release of his new single, “I Wanna Be More.” The infectious rocker is the debut track from Daly’s upcoming album Devil’s Arms – due for release this spring via One Opportunity Records – and has been a crowd favorite on his current tour in direct support of the rock supergroup Mr. Big.

“’I Wanna Be More’ is an incredibly important song to me, and its release comes at the perfect time,” says Daly of the track. “My songwriting has matured a lot over the last few years – I’ve tapped into a much more honest approach, I’m writing from the heart, and I think the raw emotion that so many people can relate to is even more pronounced. This is the first song we’re releasing that was recorded with Brian Virtue, and it takes everything we’ve done before to the next level. To be able to preview it on the road with Mr. Big has been a remarkable experience, and being able to now release it to the world is even more surreal. I couldn’t be prouder of this song, and everything it represents.”

The track goes live on all streaming platforms February 2, and a limited-edition CD pressing of the album is available on tour (see complete dates below). Devil’s Arms is produced by Brian Virtue, best known for his work with Audioslave, Jane’s Addiction, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Deftones, and includes a duet with Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong.

Devil’s Arms is the follow-up to the maxi-single Drop Dead, which came on the heels of his debut solo EP Nothing to Lose. Daly’s music is gritty, raw and energetic. His post-grunge and classic rock influences combine to create his dynamic signature modern-rock sound.

Mark Daly launched a three-week U.S. tour in January in direct support of Mr. Big. The Irish rocker supports the band throughout the Midwest and Northeast, while also headlining his own shows, including a marquee performance February 8, at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Daly is no newcomer to American soil, having completed numerous domestic tours with heavyweights including Candlebox, Queensrÿche, and Queensrÿche’s former frontman, Geoff Tate. His current run kicked off Thursday, January 25, with a headlining show at Belle and the Bear, in Cincinnati, OH, and is highlighted by his West Point show, and a New York City performance with Mr. Big on February 6 at Sony Hall.

“As a rock musician from Ireland, it feels surreal to me to be on another incredible tour in the USA,” says Daly. “It blows my mind that I am not only the special guest of a band I grew up listening to – Mr. Big – but we also have our own headline shows in America for the first time. This really is a dream come true.”

Mark was first discovered while performing in his band The Voodoos in Spain. During one of their shows, music manager Brian Message (Radiohead, Nick Cave) was in the crowd and requested that Mark play some original songs. Brian decided to bring the band to London to record their first EP. It was in this defining moment that Mark decided to become a full-time musician and never looked back.

One early highlight in Mark’s career was performing at the MTV EMA Awards with The Voodoos after beating out 10,000+ bands from Europe for the slot. From there, Mark and the band began to tour throughout Europe and the USA. Mark’s first venture as a solo artist hit N0. 1 on the Scottish New Music Charts. Inspired by his son, Noah, the track “Your World” was written for an autism awareness charity.

“I absolutely love everything about being on the road – meeting so many incredible people each night, getting lost in the music on stage. It’s pure magic,” says Daly.
