Medieval metal miscreants NETHERWILDS have released their defiant new single “The Fall,” the latest offering from their forthcoming debut album, Peasant Rising, arriving October 9th via King Volume Records.
Following the drunken revelry of “Helm Yeah,” “The Fall” returns Worm Chewer to a far more serious matter: revolution.
What began as the daily misery of one downtrodden peasant searching for his goat has grown into something much larger. Years of toil, taxation, hunger and humiliation beneath the boot of the ruling class have taken their toll, and across the villages, a dangerous idea is beginning to spread, that perhaps kings and castles are not as permanent as they appear.
With “The Fall,” NETHERWILDS turn that growing unrest into a battle cry. Dark, imposing and steeped in medieval atmosphere, the track captures the moment resignation gives way to resistance and the peasants begin looking beyond mere survival toward the possibility of taking their fate into their own hands.
Worm Chewer warns:

Across Peasant Rising, NETHERWILDS fuse blackened metal, medieval folk, doom and cinematic atmosphere into an eccentric 22-track saga chronicling Worm Chewer’s transformation from beleaguered laborer into an increasingly unlikely revolutionary.
Produced and mixed by Jesse Turnbull (Dear-God, Doflame), the record journeys through mud-soaked villages, dungeons, monsters, drunken escapades and feudal indignities as Worm Chewer’s personal struggle gradually becomes intertwined with a much greater rebellion brewing beyond the castle walls.
“The Fall” represents a crucial turning point in that tale. The jokes remain, the mud remains and the peasants are certainly still peasants—but fear of the crown is beginning to disappear.
Every kingdom must fall eventually. Perhaps this one sooner than expected.

Faroese luminary singer-songwriter Eivør has unveiled a new track from her upcoming studio project, Tungl, due out on October 16th. Today’s release Spøkilsir / Revenantsweaves hypnotic dream-pop and trip-hop textures into an evocative meditation on embracing the ghosts of our past.
Eivør conveys about the song:
“In ‘Spøkilsir / Revenants,’ we find relief in the imperfect.
I think we all carry ghosts. Things in the past we would have liked to have handled differently or little flaws within ourselves we try to hide from the world. But often when we learn to fully embrace each other’s flaws, quirks and darker sides, they become endearing. We become more patient and forgiving, not only towards each other, but also towards ourselves.”
Eivør adds:
“The music video was created by my dear friend Gwenaël Akira, whose enthusiasm and dedication always make working with him inspiring. We wanted to create an inner world, a reflection of the voices, shadows and different versions of ourselves that live inside our heads. Gwenaël conceived a mirrored box, almost like a room inside the mind, and an incredible team of artists in the Faroe Islands brought it to life.”

Eivør spent this summer performing across Europe, presenting a select number of headline concerts and appearing at leading festivals including Paléo Festival, Brutal Assault, Summer Breeze and ArcTanGent.
To celebrate the release of Tungl, Eivør will present three special album release concerts in October. Eivør will be playing two consecutive nightsat Nordic House in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, on 16 and 17 October, before she returns to Harpa’s Eldborg Hall in Reykjavík, Iceland, on 23 October for a unique performance featuring special guest musicians in one of the Nordic region’s most iconic concert halls. These intimate events will offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience Tungl performed in a special setting before Eivør embarks on her extensive international tour.
Eivør will also be undertaking an extensive headline tour acrossNorth America later this year, and across Europe and the UK into 2027.

For over two decades, Faroese artist Eivør has been regarded as one of the most bewitching and fearless voices to have emerged from the Nordic music scene. Ranging across rock, pop noir, jazz and folk to electronica over the course of 11 solo albums, various collaborations, live albums and soundtrack work including The Last Kingdom, God of War and God of War Ragnarök, her musical path has revealed both a restless, explorative spirit and a singer deeply connected to her Faroese roots, earning her the Nordic Council Music Prize along the way.
It’s testament to the singular yet universal nature of her music that her fanbase has grown to include metalheads and the Norse pagan folk scene – for whom her startling voice, hide drum and throat-chant incantation, Trøllabundin, has become an unofficial anthem – as well as the mainstream, all instinctively understanding that music coming from a place of true authenticity knows no boundaries.

Fifty years after the release of Ted Nugent’s landmark 1976 album Free-for-All, Power Rock musician Alex Cole joined Nugent on stage at Timber Rock Amphitheater in Farmington, Pennsylvania, for a special performance of the album’s iconic title track.
Originally released by Epic Records in September 1976, Free-for-All became Nugent’s second solo studio album and a defining release in his career, eventually reaching the Top 25 on the U.S. album charts.
Fifty years later, the title track became the centerpiece of a memorable Rock ’n’ Roll moment.
Before Cole took the stage, Nugent personally introduced him to the audience, highlighting Cole’s guitar playing and inviting him to perform with the band.

Cole then joined Nugent on stage and performed “Free-for-All,” playing Nugent’s own 1958 Gibson Les Paul.
Following the performance, Nugent addressed Cole again from the stage, encouraging the audience to remember his name and praising his attitude and performance.

A 50-Year Rock ’n’ Roll Connection
The significance of the performance goes beyond a guest appearance.
In 1976, Ted Nugent released Free-for-All, an album that became an important chapter in his solo career and in American Rock ’n’ Roll.
Fifty years later, Alex Cole stood beside Nugent on stage and performed the same song with him, on Nugent’s own 1958 Gibson Les Paul.
For Cole, the moment represents a remarkable full-circle chapter in a relationship with Nugent that began in 2019, when Cole opened seven Ted Nugent shows during Nugent’s U.S. tour.
Six years later, that connection culminated in Cole being personally invited by Nugent to join him on stage and perform one of his most recognizable songs.

From the American Rock Scene to the World Stage
Alex Cole is a Power Rock musician, guitarist, composer and performer whose career has included years of work in Los Angeles and performances across the United States.
He has performed at venues including the Whisky a Go Go, The Viper Room, The Mint, House of Blues, Celebrity Theatre Phoenix and Rio Casino Las Vegas, and has shared the stage with artists including Ted Nugent, Anvil, Mike Pinera and Doug Aldrich.
Cole first performed alongside Nugent’s touring world in 2019, opening seven shows during Nugent’s U.S. tour.
Cole continues to release new music and recently released his latest single, “Knockin’ On Demon’s Door,” on June 26, 2026, available worldwide on major streaming and digital platforms.
The September 11, 2026 performance adds a new chapter to that connection, marking the 50th anniversary of “Free-for-All” with a performance alongside the artist who originally recorded it.
For Cole, the moment represents the realization of a Rock ’n’ Roll dream built through years of performing, touring and establishing his own identity as a Power Rock musician.

DeadCityMonkeys have released their self-titled, defiant new single. “Dead City Monkeys” drives the band’s fusion of metal‑infused rock and punk into heavier and rawer territory, without losing catchy melodies.
Hailing from Turku, Finland, DeadCityMonkeys are a raw and uncompromising four‑piece whose music draws from the city’s darker streets and confronts the injustices embedded in society.
The new single tells a story of rebellion and resistance. When people lose faith in political leaders and their empty promises, the fight against injustice begins. Rising from the shadows, they reclaim what has been taken from them.
DeadCityMonkeys are currently working on their debut album, which is scheduled for release in early 2027. “Dead City Monkeys,” released now, is the third single from the upcoming album. The band has previously released seven singles in total.
Sound of Soul is the final single release ahead of Finnish progressive metal band End of Abyss’s debut album Escape to a New Empire. Sound of Soul is a rock‑driven progmetal track that stands out from the band’s earlier singles with its more straightforward structure.
“There’s even some hit potential in the chorus,” composer Petrus Syvänperä grins. “Otherwise, the track continues the album’s heavy and progressive direction.”
“Sound of Soul is a radio‑friendly track with a big chorus… without the dominance of the major media houses, it would be entirely possible to hear this on Radio Rock. I hope people discover it and put it on — it’s a strong track”, says Mikko Herranen in agreement.
The story of Sound of Soul dives deep into the human mind, exploring different temperaments and those moments when a person learns to understand themselves in a new way. The track continues the album’s overarching concept while introducing a slightly more accessible angle — both musically and narratively.
“Alpo Pöytäkangas’s guitar solo blows the roof off once again with its complexity. And Mikko Herranen’s vocal interpretation is a razor‑sharp analysis of the emotions behind the lyrics,” Syvänperä says.

Band history
End Of Abyss began in Jyväskylä, Finland in the early 2000s as Petrus Syvänperä’s one‑man project. The first self‑recorded demo appeared in 2010, slowly planting the idea of creating a full progressive metal album. A key part of the band’s musical evolution was the development of Petrus’s home studio, where years of demos shaped both the band’s sound and the album’s narrative. During this period, the project worked with several artists but did not yet settle on permanent members.
When the debut album entered the production phase in 2024, guitarist Alpo Pöytäkangas joined and contributed also to the songwriting. Shortly after, bassist Janne Koskenkorva became part of the lineup.
The band’s sound took a major leap forward when vocalist Mikko Herranen joined. His strong melodic sense, professional experience, and human‑centered working style helped shape the album’s sweeping, symphonic atmosphere.
In addition to Pöytäkangas and Syvänperä few tracks include solos by Antti Koivistoinen, who was involved also during the demo years, and rhythm guitars by Juha‑Matti “Masa” Berg (Remastered).
