After a year of deep creative focus, Symphony of Sweden is preparing to enter a powerful new chapter with their new album “Stand My Ground”, a release that builds directly on the musical foundation of their acclaimed 2023 album “Haunted”, but with renewed force, energy, and refinement.
According to producer and keyboardist Evan, the band deliberately chose continuity over reinvention when shaping the new album. The goal was evolution rather than disruption: “People will not get a nasty surprise. We focused on improving the songwriting, the performances, and the production, making each album better than the previous one.”
A Year in the Studio: 2025 as a Creative Turning Point
Throughout 2025, Symphony of Sweden made a strategic decision to step back from the stage and fully commit to studio work. The absence of deadlines allowed the band to explore ideas without pressure. “It was a good choice,”Evan explains. “We had the time to finish the album without too much stress.” Frontman Lee echoes this intensity, describing the new songs as the strongest material the band has ever created: “We are always creating, always pushing. These songs are the best we’ve ever made.”
Sound Evolution: Faster, Heavier, and More Powerful
While the band maintained their signature cinematic and organic sound, subtle shifts define “Stand My Ground”. Lee pushed for a more aggressive direction: “I wanted faster and more power. More upbeat and more rock. Evan and I put our heads together and created something awesome.” The result is a sound described by Evan as “organic, powerful, and epic”, larger than life, yet grounded enough to avoid artificial excess.
From Studio Precision to Live Energy
Even in production, perfection was not forced. Some of the album’s defining moments came from inspired early takes rather than overworked mixes. “Sometimes the first raw mix is the best one,”Evan admits. “Don’t fix what isn’t broken.”
Also contributing to the album were the musicians Henrik Bodin-Sköld (Guitars), Niklas “Bullen” Bengtsson (Drums) and Erik Arkö (Bass).
Now, with the studio chapter complete, the band is looking firmly toward the stage. 2026 marks the return of Symphony of Sweden as a live force, with Sweden as the starting point for upcoming performances.
Live Return Confirmed: May 30, 2026 – Platens, Linköping
The band has confirmed a special intimate but high-energy live show on May 30, 2026, at Platens in Linköping, Sweden. Despite the smaller venue, the promise is clear: “It will be personal and intimate, combined with full blast energy from the stage,” says Evan. Lee adds with a grin: “Bigger, better, harder, faster.”
Also confirmed is the open air rock festival Skogsröjet in Finspång Sweden 30 July-1August, 2026.
What Symphony of Sweden Expects From 2026
Looking ahead, both Evan and Lee are united in their vision:
More live shows
Even more songwriting
Audience growth through real connection
“We want our fans to like what they hear, want to see us live, and be our missionaries,” Evan says.
Lee’s message is just as direct: “Build with us. Share the love of music with us.”
With “Stand My Ground”, Symphony of Sweden is not simply releasing a new album, they are reinforcing their identity, refining their sound, and preparing for their most powerful live era yet.
With their self-titled eighth studio album arriving worldwide in just two days, ALTER BRIDGE return with the final song to be released ahead of the album’s official launch. “Scales Are Falling” is another signature rocker from the acclaimed quartet—Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitars), Mark Tremonti (guitars/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums).
The track explores the moment of realization that comes with uncovering deception, and the emotional impact that truth can carry once it’s revealed.
Myles Kennedy explains: “It’s when you realize the reality of a situation where you’ve been deceived. You see the truth and how harsh it is.”
“Scales Are Falling” is available now across all digital service providers. The accompanying visualizer—created by Marcin Pospiech (Nine Inch Nails, Tool – @reinfected.me)—is also out today and can be seen below.
Mark Tremonti adds: “I was excited for this one. It has an atmospheric vibe with a lot of peaks, valleys, and moods. I solo over the bridge, and Myles plays the outro.”
With more than two decades as one of rock’s most consistently acclaimed bands, ALTER BRIDGE continue to push forward. Renowned for their towering riffs, infectious melodies, and masterful guitar interplay, the quartet will release their self-titled eighth studio album on January 9, 2026,via Napalm Records. As Blabbermouth.net recently noted, “More than 20 years in, ALTER BRIDGE keep showing they’re here to stay.” Physical formats are available for preorder now at https://www.lnk.to/AB-AlterBridge.
The forthcoming album features 12 brand-new tracks that rank among the band’s most compelling work to date. Songs such as “Rue the Day,”“Disregarded,” and “What Are You Waiting For” stand tall alongside staples from the ALTER BRIDGE catalog. “Trust in Me” highlights the powerful vocal chemistry between Kennedy and Tremonti, with Myles leading the verses and Mark commanding the chorus—an approach they reverse on the crushingly heavy “Tested and Able.”“Hang by a Thread” is primed for the live stage, channeling the energy of fan-favorite anthems, while album closer “Slave to Master” delivers an epic finale and marks the longest track the band has ever recorded.
The album’s first single, “Silent Divide,” continues its ascent at Active Rock radio and is approaching six million views on YouTube. Longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette once again joined the band for the project, which was recorded over two months this spring at the legendary 5150 Studios in California and at Baskette’s studio in Florida.
Alter Bridge track listing: 1) Silent Divide (5:06) 2) Rue The Day (4:46) 3) Power Down (4:08) 4) Trust In Me (4:48) 5) Disregarded (3:55) 6) Tested And Able (4:36) 7) What Lies Within (5:07) 8) Hang By A Thread (4:11) 9) Scales Are Falling (5:54) 10) Playing Aces (4:05) 11) What Are You Waiting For (5:00) 12) Slave To Master (9:03)

About ALTER BRIDGE: Back in 2004, four lifelong musicians got together down in Florida. Even though they had traveled separate paths, similar lessons learned, wisdom earned, and dues paid united these gentlemen—Myles Kennedy [vocals, guitar], Mark Tremonti [guitar, vocals], Brian Marshall [bass], and Scott Phillips [drums]—as Alter Bridge. Over the ensuing two decades, the band endured countless trials and tribulations, defied every odd, and rose to the head of the pack as a hard rock juggernaut, cementing a singular legacy by selling out arenas, gathering nearly 1 billion streams, inciting international acclaim, and quietly attracting a diehard audience. Beginning with the Top 5 entry of 2004’s gold certified One Day Remains, the band have scored six consecutive Top 20 debuts on the Billboard 200. Among a myriad of highlights, Guitarist Magazine applauded “Blackbird” for the “Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time,” the ABIII single “Isolation” vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, 2013’s Fortress received rare perfect scores from KERRANG! and Total Guitar, and Walk The Sky shook the Top Rock Albums Chart at #1. Beyond packing O2 Arena and Royal Albert Hall, Classic Rock hailed 2022’s Pawns & Kings as “the Rolls-Royce of ALTER BRIDGE records” in a 4.5-out-of-5-star review. Plus, the latter LP garnered praise from American Songwriter, Guitar World, and Loudwire, while Billboard christened them “one of America’s premiere hard rock quartets.” Channeling the same relentless drive, the band continues to expand their legacy with their forthcoming self-titled eighth album—an embodiment of the precision, power, and soaring musicality fans have come to expect.
British heavy metal’s rising stars TAILGUNNER present the masterful wrap-up to their upcoming album, Midnight Blitz (out February 6, 2026 via Napalm Records), as their latest single. The album’s closing song, “Eulogy”, adds gentle orchestral melodies to their nostalgic sound before the power metal feel explodes into a speed metal firework—epic and bold, the young quintet proves yet again what inspired the rare appearance of metal icon K.K. Downing as producer on their triumphant second record.
TAILGUNNER about “Eulogy”: “Eulogy is the most epic release of our career so far. Inspired in particular by our heroes in Helloween & Blind Guardian, it’s TAILGUNNER at full throttle, telling an epic journey into the afterlife. We needed a video that could match the scope of this quest, so once again sought the help of Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art. Andy first came to our attention with his work on Judas Priest’s Painkiller, and of course killed it with our last single ‘Tears in Rain’ too. Prepare to battle demons, to ride over fire & ice, and to face the ultimate fate. This is Eulogy!”
TAILGUNNER unleash their second album, Midnight Blitz, out February 6, 2026 via Napalm Records. Bursting onto the scene in 2022, their sophomore work draws heavily from classic British Heavy Metal, but just like those influences, the band are determined to push forward. Always crafting their sound and building on what they have, whilst never compromising on what they started with – Pure Heavy Metal. In an astonishingly short time, the emerging British heavy metal talent have found support in the very heroes they follow: after making a strong impression supporting KK’s Priest, legendary guitarist K.K. Downing went on to produce the upcoming album, Midnight Blitz.
Midnight Blitz is classic Heavy Metal without being pastiche. This is a band for the here and now – not just worshipping at the altar, but determined to stand upon it as the Metal Gods of a whole new generation of headbangers. TAILGUNNER prove their skills effortlessly, carving themselves out as Heavy Metal’s future and grabbing the torch from the legends themselves. Catchy hooks, killer riffs, and appealing to every heavy metal fan – join K.K. Downing and discover your new heroes now!
TAILGUNNER about Midnight Blitz: “Like phantoms of the clouds, the Midnight Blitz screams silently through the air. Descending on their prey, a Heavy Metal militia striking at the speed of sound. Only blood can run! Whilst touring our debut album, we were described by one roadie as ‘The bastard child of Maiden & Priest’ and that became the ethos for our new album Midnight Blitz. Just like our fore bearers, we are determined to push forward, always crafting our sound and building on what we have, whilst never compromising on what we started with – Pure Heavy Metal! We are not just worshipping at the altar of those who have gone before, but determined to stand upon it and be the heroes for a whole new generation! We played over 100 shows touring our debut album, sharing the stages with some of the most legendary names in Metal while paying our dues in blood, sweat, tears and endless nights out on the road. Everything we learned is on display here, packed into 10 tracks in what we feel can be a true, essential TAILGUNNER album. Produced by none other than the Metal guitar God K.K. Downing, working closely with K.K. during this entire process has been the ride of a lifetime and you can hear those touches of a bonafide Metal God throughout this album!”
K.K. Downing on TAILGUNNER: “TAILGUNNER is a band we should have seen emerge years ago from the UK. They personify everything that is heavy metal. They are loud and proud, and totally descended from everyone in metal that has gone before – their energy and rawness, together with their brand of metal, incorporates all of the godfathers and much more. Maiden, Priest, Motörhead, Def Leppard – the list is endless. The band has a youthful freshness and a uniqueness that will no doubt elevate them to being a true Metal favourite of the fans.”
The ambitious quintet fires with more precision than ever before on 10 versatile tracks. An air raid siren stands as harbinger of the onslaught from the powerful title track, “Midnight Blitz”, in which blitzkrieg drums and screaming twin lead guitars serve as a powerful sign of what is to come. The epic “Tears In Rain” showcases frontman Craig Cairns’ broad vocal skills and the band’s ability to deliver huge, infectious choruses.
“Follow Me In Death” boasts TAILGUNNER’s Maiden-esque approach to grandiose, heavy melodies, while ‘The Lost Boys’-inspired “Dead Until Dark” turns up the 80s vibes full throttle. With “Barren Lands and Seas of Red”, the young British band prove they have epics in their arsenal, continuing to intertwine catchy choruses with manic, thrash tinged riffs before letting audiences catch their breaths during the modern classic ballad “War In Heaven” – goosebumps guaranteed! The following “Blood Sacrifice” ups the tempo significantly and offers numerous opportunities to raise your fist and shout along, while “Night Raids” and “Eye Of The Storm” add triumphant notes, respectively, preparing for the grand finale. The epic, Power Metal feel of “Eulogy” wraps Midnight Blitz up masterfully, shifting from gently orchestrated melodies and memorable vocals before exploding into Speed Metal fireworks.

Closing in on the release of their debut album, Mongolian breakthrough rockers UUHAI offer another glimpse into the release with a new single. Named after the oldest surviving literary work in the Mongolic language, dating back to the late 1220s and recounting the life and conquest of legendary Genghis Khan, “Secret History of the Mongols” seduces with an enticing atmosphere. UUHAI once again blend traditional sounds with modern rock, artfully contrasting an emotional guitar solo and goosebump-inducing “uuhai” chants—an ancient battle cry for good fortune—invoking a collectively bright future. Human Herds is out this coming Friday, January 9, 2026 via Napalm Records.
Starting on the same day as their album release, European fans will have a chance to chant along with the band during their tour with label mates NANOWAR OF STEEL. Find all scheduled tour dates below!
UUHAI about “Secret History of the Mongols”: “This history is a sacred flame, consecrated by Father Heaven and Mother Earth. It is the undaunted gallop of ambition, the wisdom of our ancestors, and the everlasting scripture of the Mongol people.”
Amplifying the blending of throat singing and horsehead fiddles with heavy music, breakthrough rockers UUHAI bestow a captivating sound upon the Mongolian steppe with Human Herds, out January 9, 2026 via Napalm Records. After their first songs gained them millions of video views, the seven-piece band unleashes a debut album that draws from the imposing history and awe-inspiring nature of Mongolia alike. On Human Herds, UUHAI reflect on both their roots and modern society, delivering a powerful plea to everyone, everywhere, wrapped up in a heartfelt love letter to their homeland—all in Mongolian language.
Human Herds impresses with far more than just a language and instruments unfamiliar to most ears. It is a reverent invitation into the heart of Mongolia that you won’t get anywhere else, buoyant and powerful in both storytelling and musical delivery. With deep gratitude and respect, UUHAI creates an emotional ode to nature and delivers a grassroots message to society: this debut album is a powerful reminder that on this earth, we are all the same.
UUHAI about Human Herds: “Human Herds is a reflection on the unstoppable tide of humanity—our migrations, our revolts, our worship, and our wounds upon the Earth. Yet in our chaos, we must remember: we all live under one sun and one moon on Earth, sharing the same fragile home.”
On the new album, UUHAI steps into the role of perceptive storytellers, guiding listeners through the spirit and soundscape of the Far East. Following a tone-setting, appropriately atmospheric intro is the title track, “Human Herds”. A galloping hard rock anthem calling upon the forefathers, it first offers colorful descriptions of nature’s beauty along with the urge to take better care of weeping Mother Earth instead of watching her destruction, delivered in haunting antiphony—the overarching theme of the album. “Uuhai” snarlingly tells the tale of how Mongolia historically drew its strength from said connection with its surroundings, dispersing both evil spirits and other nations. It culminates in the band chanting their name, which translates to a common battle cry for good fortune—which European fans will have a chance to join in on during the upcoming tour. Sweeping “Khar Khulz” offers passages to sing along with and simultaneously conjures up images in your mind that will have you booking the next flight to Ulaanbaatar. Throughout their diverse first album, UUHAI show an imposing ability to both create intimate settings that have us witness age-old rituals and deliver catchy hits as a heavy rock troupe. “Secret History of the Mongols” wraps up the journey. Named after the oldest surviving literary work in the Mongolic language, dated to the late 1220s, the final track seduces with an enticing atmosphere, an emotional guitar solo, and another round of goosebump-inducing “uuhai” chants, invoking a collectively bright future.

Just a few days ago, German folk metal institution SUBWAY TO SALLY bid farewell to the old year in thunderous style – with their Eisheilige Nacht tour. Continuing on in a more intimate and emotional vein, the Potsdam band will kick off the third part of the NACKT concert series on March 27, 2026 in Berlin under the banner NACKT III – Lügen & Legenden (Naked III – Lies & Legends). SUBWAY TO SALLY set the mood today with a reinterpretation of their cult song “Feuerkind” — stripped down and more haunting than ever.
The accompanying music video perfectly captures the intimate, fragile, and at the same time powerful atmosphere of the NACKT concerts. Between closeness and tension, melancholy and eruptive emotion, the band displays their exceptional versatility: acoustic, emotional, and visual.
SUBWAY TO SALLY add: “We delve deep into our history: from the quietest ballad to wild escalation, from bittersweet melancholy to unrestrained excess. What is true, what is invented, which lies have long since become legends? In an intimate atmosphere, close to you, an evening awaits us between living room and theatre stage, between poetry and pure joy of performance. Let us celebrate life – and perhaps be naked together one last time.”
“Feuerkind” originally appeared on Nord Nord Ost, the band’s eighth studio album, which entered the official German album charts at number five in 2005. To this day, the track is considered one of the most emotional and intense moments in the band’s repertoire. It exemplifies what SUBWAY TO SALLY has stood for for over three decades: the ability to retell stories, reveal emotions, and constantly reinvent themselves without losing their core identity. The single is not only a tribute to their own history, but also a powerful sign of things to come.
In 2006, SUBWAY TO SALLY laid the foundation for an extraordinary live experience with their first NACKT tour, which proved so popular that it returned for a second round four years later. Now, in 2026, the sextet will return with NACKT III – Lügen & Legenden. The first dates are already sold out. Finnish blackened death metal band Karelian Warcry have worked with their third album for years and finally it sees the light of day this spring. The first bite from the album, a single “Mielen rutto” (The plague of mind) is now out.
–ISRC: FI3FC2553701 –Music and lyrics by Jussi Kousa, Johannes Järvinen, Matti Mikkonen, Anttipekka Heiskanen
Karelian Warcry was founded in Kouvola, Finland, in 2002. In its early stages, KW’s music leaned more distinctly towards Black Metal. Nowadays it’s influenced by other subgenres of metal as well as other types of music. The lyrics explore themes related to war, violence and the darker sides of humanity. Each member brings their own musical roots, personal ambitions, and thematic passions into the mix, resulting in unique and recognizable sound. Wistful and haunting melodies, crushing grooves, and relentlessly driving rhythms blend with violent storytelling and poetic expression, hallmarks of Karelian Warcry’s musical identity.
In 2014, the band went on hiatus following the passing of vocalist-guitarist Matti Mikkonen. Although the members have scattered from their hometown of Kouvola, they have continued creating music together—both remotely and in their rehearsal chamber. One could say Karelian Warcry never ceased to exist. And now, a bit over a decade later, they have finally completed the upcoming album, “Veripellot” — their most crushing and cohesive work to date.
