April 5th will see the release of “Oldfodt”, the brand new EP by Finnish black metal legion ONDFØDT.
Today the band is revealing a new video for the track “Paradiset” (Rauli Badding Somerjoki. cover) see the video here over at Black Metal Promotion.
Ondfodt comments about the track
– This song is a cover of originally Rauli Badding Somerjoki under the title “Paratiisi” (1973). This song has been the most-played song in Finland for several years, both in live music and in the media. In 2016, The song crossed the sea to get its Swedish variant by Frida Andersson. Today Ondfødt delivers its interpretation: a black metal one. Energy with great melodies and a video that gives a real Finnish feeling, no question that this variant will be a hit!
After a decade of existence and armed with our new formidable lineup, Ondfodt embarked on a mission to breathe new life into the classics that defined our early years. This endeavor culminated in the creation of an EP featuring reimagined renditions of our most potent tracks from the inaugural and sophomore albums.
Reflecting on the band’s nascent period, it becomes evident that our music was steeped in a fervent, rebellious spirit—both lyrically and musically. With an eye on contemporaneity, Ondfodt sought to infuse these re-recordings with a modernized sound, characterized by heightened aggression and a distinctly Ondfodt flair, surpassing the intensity of the original compositions.
Throughout 2023, the band dedicated itself to the meticulous crafting of this EP, investing significant time to sculpt the music into a manifestation of the direction in which Ondfodt is evolving. The result is a sonic experience that is not only more explosive and powerful but also retains the clarity that defines our signature sound. This project represents a testament to our commitment to musical evolution and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
The EP was recorded in 2023 at Wolfthrone Studios. Mixing and mastering engineer: Owe Inborr Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns guest vocals on “No Ere Jo Satan Oldfodt”
Drums: Tommi Tuhkala Bass/guitars: Joel Notkonen Guitars/vocals: Owe Inborr
The EP will be coming out on Black Lion Records on April 5th and is now available for pre-order and pre-save the EP at THIS LOCATION

2023 was a big year for EIVØR. Born and raised to a tiny island community, the electrifying Faroese singer-songwriter toured behind the soundtrack to the Netflix series The Last Kingdom, which she composed alongside Emmy winner John Lunn. But this year is going to be even bigger. Not only is she releasing a new album. She’s touring all across Europe — and she’s bringing along her new label mate.
Since being nominated for a Norwegian Grammy for her last album, Nova, SYLVAINE has toured all across Europe and North America. The stirring Norwegian singer and multi-instrumentalist also has a special new release coming in 2024. Not only that, but she’ll be embarking on her first-ever solo tour by serving as EIVØR‘s special guest for these 21 dates.
“I am thrilled to announce a run of European shows for this coming October to celebrate the release of a new album!” says Eivør, who promises that more album details are coming soon.
“My band and I can’t wait to start this new chapter with you and perform later this year. This tour will bring us to Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
“We are also super excited to have the incredible artist Sylvaine join us on all of these dates for her first-ever solo tour. Please check her out. She is amazing”.
“I’m so very excited to be heading out on my first-ever solo tour supporting none other than the wonderfully talented Eivør!“, Kathrine says. “I’m honored to be sharing the stage with her and her musicians, and can’t wait to showcase my music in a different format. It will be an intimate, emotionally heavy ride. October can’t come soon enough!”
Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 19 at 11:00 CET.

In preparation for their tour together, Eivør and Sylvaine put together a playlist of their favorite songs. Get in the mood with some of the choice cuts off Nova and the soundtracks to The Last Kingdom and God of War Ragnarök.
EIVØR is an artist perfectly attuned to the savage vicissitudes of nature. Born & raised in Syðrugøta (population: 453), a tiny community on one of the northerly Faroe Islands, the singer-songwriter grew up surrounded by a harsh, windswept landscape and the North Atlantic, a rugged backdrop that has, unsurprisingly, deeply influenced the music she creates.
With ten studio albums under her belt, as well as numerous collaborations with artists including Àsgeir, John Grant, Einar Selvik (Wardruna) and Dan Heath (Lana Del Ray) Eivør can be considered to be one of the most eclectic artists of the Nordics and one of the most mesmerizing live vocalists of her generation.
The winner of the 2021 Nordic Council Music prize and awarded twice with the Icelandic Music Price, multiple Danish Music Folk Awards, as well as the Faroese Music Award, Eivør is part of a new wave of Nordic artists rapidly building passionate international fan bases with music that honours their ancient cultural & musical folklore. At last count, Eivør’s music has been streamed close to 1 billion times and she has been playing sell out tours in both Scandinavia, Europe and the US.
Eivør also soundtracks and features on all seasons of the flagship Netflix hit series The Last Kingdom (co-written with Ivor Novello/BAFTA-nominated John Lunn.)
The new official The Last Kingdom album Destiny Is All – written and produced by John Lunn, Eivør and Danny Saul, was released last year. Eivør also recently featured on the God of War Ragnarök score and on the soundtrack to the hit video game. She then performed at the 10-year Game Awards anniversary show at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Eivør signed with Season of Mist in 2023. Her first album on Season of Mist will be released this year.
Line-Up: Eivør – Vocals, Guitars, Beats

Fronted by vocalist Severin Sailer, with guitarist Philipp Tenberken, drummer Bastian Gölz and bass player Valentin Noack; Avralize have signed with Arising Empire and releasedhitting single ‘Lotus’.
Many worlds come together. A mix of vibe, technique and artistic creativity meets destructive breakdowns, provoking guitar riffs and catchy choruses. With finesse, the four guys from south Germany strike the perfect balance between the brutality of the deliberately used deathcore elements while incorporating a massive production and exciting grooves that you just want to dance to. Avralize stands for perception through sound. That’s why the band has set itself the task of using certain stylistic devices, such as futuristic sounds and melodies to cast a spell over their fans and let them wander into distant worlds.
Severin commented: “We are thrilled to share the exciting news of our partnership with Arising Empire. With their support, we can now concentrate on realizing our vision for the band and immerse ourselves even more in what we love most: creating music. Our first release with Arising Empire will feature a particularly special song titled “Lotus”.
“The essence of the song revolves around the profound theme of letting go of the past. This signifies a transformative process of shedding old burdens, relationships, or beliefs to make way for new growth and change. Change is often perceived as intimidating and frightening, yet for us, it became essential to break free from self-imposed limitations and embrace the freedom to pursue our true desires, regardless of external opinions. Authenticity lies in being true to oneself and removing anything that obstructs the expression of our genuine selves—a step that anyone is capable of taking.”
Having shared the stage with scene heavyweights like Ghostkid, Novelists, Paleface and Of Virtue, the group quickly established a reputation for their energetic live show that turns their crowds into a giant party on a regular basis. Despite their relatively short time as a band since their formation, Avarlize have already performed at established festivals like Southside, Hurricane and RockXplosion.
Belgian death metal band CARRION has just released the bass playthrough video for their track “Cofagrigus” from their latest album “Morbid Nailgun Necropsy”.

Recorded at Hearse Studio by Lander Cluyse and mixed/mastered by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio, “Morbid Nailgun Necropsy” is a modern death metal masterpiece with groovy and dark touches that will leave you wanting more. If you’re a fan of fast-paced, brutal death metal, then this album is a must-listen.

A storm is brewing, two people meet in the street. The atmosphere is threatening, but escape is not an option. Yön salamat is like a comic book screen or artwork of a heavy metal album from the depths of the eighties. Cobra 1981 showcases its faster and more fierce side with its second single.
Like their debut single, Vanha kuoma, which received good attention both at home and abroad, Yön salamat was written in the 1980s. The song is part of the debut album to be released this spring, most of the songs from which have been dug from the band’s archives. The album was recorded as a studio live in an old barn, which also serves as the band’s practice space. While selecting and rehearsing songs, the band occasionally returned to listening to original demos and rehearsal tapes. Despite decades passing by, the enthusiasm and ferocity of the musicians hasn’t gone away. The fast tempos remained fast and the vocal melodies remained at their original heights.
Double guitars roar as Cobra 1981 rocks out with their second single!
