AMON AMARTH continues to tour in support of their critically adored The Great Heathen Army full-length. Recorded with esteemed studio guru Andy Sneap and released in 2022, the record represents another bold leap forward for the band, as their trademark sound undergoes yet another skillful, evolutionary overhaul, both lyrically and musically. From the noisily rabble-rousing “Find A Way Or Make One” and the pummeling, pugilistic “Get In The Ring” to the cinematic squall of the title track, The Great Heathen Army encapsulates the essence of this legendary band, while still allowing acres of space for new ideas.

Wrote Louder Sound of the offering, “The Great Heathen Army is simultaneously everything that helped AMON AMARTH climb to the top in the first place and a return to the darker, less showy sound of their early days… the band’s innate sense for fist-pumping riffs and colossal hooks remains impossible to deny.” Concurred Blabbermouth, “Both an unapologetic, festival-ready dose of new, gleaming, Viking-populated anthems, and one of the darkest and most brutal albums they have yet made, The Great Heathen Army feels celebratory, too — an extravagant blowout to mark the start of the next invasion.”

Fans can check out a teaser for the upcoming video “Saxons and Vikings” HERE and can preview and purchase The Great Heathen Army at: metalblade.com/amonamarth

Formed in Tumba, Sweden, in 1992, AMON AMARTH has forged an extraordinary legacy over three decades of thunderous, anthemic metal, all rich in the magical imagery of Viking history, folklore and culture. With albums like 2008’s widely acclaimed Twilight Of The Thunder God and 2016’s conceptual triumph Jomsviking, the Swedes have been consistent standard bearers for heavy metal as a life-affirming and communal experience, armed with a seemingly endless stream of instant classic songs.

Napalm Records is pleased and proud to announce that longtime employee and Product Manager, Sebastian Münch, has recently been promoted to Senior A&R. Münch has been working for the international music label based in Eisenerz, Austria for 13 years. Throughout these years, the label has continued to develop into one of the world’s leading independent rock and metal labels since its foundation in the early nineties.

The promotion marks another milestone in Münch’s career since joining Napalm Records on June 1, 2010. Since then, he has made a significant contribution to the label’s success through his tireless dedication and passion for the music industry. With his deep understanding of the market, his sense for new trends and the ability to develop innovative strategies to best present artists and their work, Münch plays a key role in the identification and development of emerging talents.

Alongside countless other artists, he not only signed New Zealand newcomers Alien Weaponry (quite unknown back then), My Sleeping Karma and Wind Rose, but also metal legends such as Destruction and K.K. Downing with his band KK’s Priest. In addition, Sebastian Münch brought other established names to Napalm Records, such as Nile and Burning Witches.

Napalm Records is looking forward to continuing this successful collaboration with Sebastian Münch and exploring new musical highlights in the rock and metal universe together.

Sebastian Münch comments:
“I worked in a corporate management role in England until 2010 before moving to Eisenerz – lured by my heroes Summoning, Falkenbach and Kampfar – to fulfill my lifelong dream of working for a music label. The magic is still the same today when I can discover, promote and help artists to succeed. My work at Napalm Records is both a vocation and a passion. Thank you Thomas, Max, Billie and Diana for your trust. Here’s to many more great years.”

Head of A&R Thomas Caser adds:
“Congratulations, Sebastian! I am delighted to be working with Sebastian to further expand the A&R department and shape the label profile. Here’s to many more successful years and many more signings!”

Attention, all fans of music, cinema, literature and art! Liberators of the known universe, power metal legends GLORYHAMMER, return this winter from the Kingdom of Fife with a special cover-song previously heard only by few! The mighty GLORYHAMMER have released the new cover single “Mighty Wings”, originally performed by Cheap Trick and featured on the ‘Top Gun’ soundtrack!

The song doesn’t hold anything back – diving into nostalgic action straight away with catchy, chanting choir-backed vocals and powerful drums. As the massive power metal track proceeds with catchy keyboard melody leads, it’s backed by strong metal drumming and topped with soaring, chanting vocals. Infusing the electrified 80s pop rock of Cheap Trick’s Top Gun-classic with their own brand of bombast and power, “Mighty Wings” is both a crowning memento of nostalgia and a daring glance into the future, in which anything is possible!

But that is not all – your favorite power metal warriors are currently gearing up to embark on extensive tours throughout Europe and North America – so buckle up and make sure to not miss GLORYHAMMER’s grandiose spectacle near you! See below for all current tour dates.

GLORYHAMMER regale us:
“Mighty winged warriors! For many years now, the Top Gun OST, and in particular, Cheap Trick’s standout track ‘Mighty Wings’ has been a constant in our lives – the eagle-eared amongst you shall have heard it countless times in our pre-show playlist. When recording Return to the Kingdom of Fife last winter, we decided to pay homage to the song that defined so many great moments for us by recording our own, distinctly GLORYHAMMER cover version. Previously only available on limited vinyl, we now invite the entire world to bask in its resplendence, as the final single to be released from RttKoF before we begin work on the forthcoming album! Talk to me, Hoots!”

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000.

TESLA’s legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.

TESLA:
Vocals: Jeff Keith
Guitar: Frank Hannon
Guitar: Dave Rude
Bass: Brian Wheat
Drums: Steve Brown
