GYPSY PISTOLEROS release an homage ‘Like Tears in the Rain’, from one of the greatest scenes in Sci-Fi history – from the original ‘Blade Runner’ film when dying replicant Roy Batty, played by Rutger Hauer, delivers what is known as the “Tears in the Rain” monologue.

A spikey juggernaut of a sort of ballady Punk fuelled rock wall of sound:

HOLE IN THE FRAME Release First Single ‘To Fall Down’ from Upcoming Live Album

Can limitations harden to the point of creating something truly special? HOLE IN THE FRAME certainly seem to believe so. Hailing from a challenging and somewhat off-the-radar music scene in Molise, they are crafting an extraordinary story of dedication, quality, and success. After releasing an EP before the summer that was well-received by both critics and the public, and a series of resounding concerts throughout the Italian boot, including opening for American metal legends Metal Church and the cult Italian band Gli Atroci, the Campobasso-based groove metal collective is back with a devastating single titled “To Fall Down”.

The song, available on all streaming platforms and YouTube, was performed live by the band in a recent concert and will be featured on an upcoming album to be released by Volcano Records & Promotion on December 8th, titled “Unbroken Falsity (Live).” This is an ambitious project, but when you’ve forged your passion in adversity, nothing can stand in your way, and Hole In The Frame is here to prove it.

GOST Signs to Metal Blade Records + Announces New Album for 2024

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of dark electronic artist GOST to a worldwide deal, which will see the first release for the label and sixth for the band, titled Prophecy, out in spring of 2024.

Gost had this to say about signing onto Metal Blade:

“Signing with Metal Blade is surreal for me personally as a lifelong metal listener and musician. If you grew up listening to metal in the 80’s and 90’s like I did, Metal Blade’s impact on metal is undeniable. There were my favourite bands and behind them was Metal Blade. Gost signing with Metal Blade feels predestined and born from Baal himself. All hail Berith and all hail Metal Blade.”

Gost exist in the dark crack between black metal and the most shadowy end of electronic music. Since the release of the Radio Macabre EP at the start of 2013, and the remorseless digital nightmare of their Skull debut album six months later, Texas-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and main-brain James Lollar has become an increasingly singular force in music. Far more aggressive and sinister than the synthwave he’s often grouped with, Gost is a harsh and unique digital nightmare that takes the listener right into the heart of the abyss.

More details on Prophecy including the first single, artwork, tracklisting, and pre-orders are coming this fall.

In the meantime, catch Gost live when he joins Katatonia on their upcoming tour across America with stops in Canada, which kicks off Thursday, November 9 in Boston, Mass. at The Sinclair and concludes in Orlando, FL on Saturday, December 9th at Level 13.

BEYOND THE HATE Release First Single ‘The Lighthouse’ from Upcoming Debut Album

Finnish melodic death metallers BEYOND THE HATE are set to release an anticipated debut album Darkest Times on March 8th 2024 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘The Lighthouse’ is released today with lyric video which can be seen below.

Guitarist Kimmo Perälehto states:
“In the pre-production and early stages of the album, we wanted something a little different, so we ended up writing the song in 3/4 time signature. At the same time we combined the song our trademark tremolo saw picking alongside a slower pedal stroke – the result was what we felt was the perfect song”

Bass player Mikko Monto adds:
“As for the chorus, the song is one of the fastest played on the upcoming album, with the slower interludes bringing a nice moody lift to the song.
Symbolically and metaphorically, the lighthouses stand in their lofty solitude and soar towards the sky, taking on the storms of the seas and leading
travellers safely to their destination. This time, however, the listener is left to ponder the darknesses of the story.”

Vocalist Niko Kalinainen sums:

“Lighthouses usually provide shelter for sailors and guide them past the reefs, this lighthouse is something quite different. It lures its prey towards its inevitable end, like a flame to a moth. This monument of death swallows up all light in its path and steers towards destruction – let those who can still be saved!”

Beyond The Hate’s beginnings date back to the summer of 2016, when guitarist Kimmo Perälehto and bassist Mikko Monto started writing songs together. Second guitarist Jyrki Karhu joined in early autumn and singer Niko Kalinainen in late 2016. The band was officially founded in 2017, when Tommy Uhtio took over the drumming duties and the first practice sessions were held.

In the beginning, the band’s songs were more straightforward metal but in late 2018, the band started to find their musical direction in melodic death metalsuch, as an good example the single “This Cold Morning” was released in 2019. In 2018 and 2019, the band participated in the Emergenza Finland band competitions, reaching the finals at the both times.

The first taste of the new style came with the 2020 EP “Betrayal Of Time”, which received good reviews and created expectations for the band’s future. – Miika Manninen / Metalliluola 2020: “Beyond the Hate’s name is worth remembering for the future, because you can expect a lot from the next release.”. – The band also participated in the 2022 Tuska-Torstai competition, reaching the semi-finals.

After the songs on the EP, the band focused on writing even more atmospheric and melancholic songs. More orchestral and choir elements were added to the songs, as well as acoustic guitar playing to create a new melodic mood. From this creative process came the twelve-track debut album “Darkest Times”, which will be released in March 2024 via Inverse Records. The album will also feature guest vocalists Katri Hiovain-Asikainen from Numento on “Black Within” and Jaakko Mäntymaa from Marianas Rest on “In Memoriam”.

Brace yourself for an infernal descent into the abyss as we announce the unholy union of Finnish melodic black metal masters, MORMÂNT DE SNAGOV, and Wormholedeath! Prepare to be submerged by the searing darkness of their forthcoming opus, “Invocation Through Revocation,” set to be released on November 17, 2023.

In a statement that echoes through the depths of the underground scene, Mormânt De Snagov declared, “Mormânt De Snagov is truly excited about signing the deal with WormHoleDeath. We have been operating deep in the underground for 15 years now, and although it has been very good for us, and the labels we’ve worked with have been fantastic, we felt this might be our time to step up in the game. We feel that WormHoleDeath can offer us just the right channels to release ‘Invocation Through Revocation,’ which we are obviously very proud of.”

“Invocation Through Revocation” marks the fifth installment in Mormânt De Snagov’s infernal odyssey. This sonic odyssey is an intoxicating blend of relentless aggression, icy melancholy, and majestic orchestral harmonies. Sinister progressiveness and a blackened urge to triumph are woven into every track. From relentless, high-velocity bursts to hauntingly harmonic guitar solos, and from thrashy death metal eruptions to melodic, mesmerizing choruses, this album offers an unforgettable journey into the abyss.

The album was crafted between June 2022 and November 2022 amidst the haunting beauty of the Finnish countryside. This remote locale allowed the band to channel their dark, atmospheric vision into the seven tracks that make up “Invocation Through Revocation.” The result is an album where all the enchanting elements of darkness are visible and striking.

Mormânt De Snagov, hailing from the Turku and Naantali regions of Finland, was forged in 2008 by a cadre of seasoned metal veterans. Over their 15-year career, their sonic evolution has been nothing short of a blackened metamorphosis, fusing elements from diverse genres while retaining their core of hateful black metal. Their lyrical themes, once wrapped in old horror story classics, have evolved alongside their music. The name of the band refers to old horror story classics, and during the first years, Mormânt De Snagov actually used horror stories as frames for their dark ideology in the lyrics, accompanied by a raw black metal sound. The members of Mormânt De Snagov have also released several previous efforts through multiple bands and the collective CV nametags such groupings as Fall of the Leafe, Ablaze in Hatred, Searing Meadow, Malefic by Design, Leaflet, and Devastracktor.
