After their last two successful albums Abrahadabra and Eonian, DIMMU BORGIR herald their 30-year legacy by releasing, together for the first time, a collection of their cover songs. The album Inspiratio Profanus is being announced with the release of the thunderous first single, ‘Black Metal’ by the extreme metal pioneers VENOM. The album Inspiratio Profanus will be released on December 8th via Nuclear Blast Records.

STELLAR CIRCUITS dropped one of the year’s best progressive metal records earlier this summer, with Sight To Sound. Now the band returns with a music video for the fan-favorite track ‘Alchemy’ just ahead of their tour.

Commenting on ‘Alchemy’ the band states:
‘Alchemy’ was one of the last songs we finished for this album. It was something that came together fairly quickly and at the end of the process, it just felt like it was right. It ended up becoming a love letter to songwriting and the creative process.

BRAT Sign to Prosthetic Records, Reveal New Single + Music Video ‘Social Grace’

New Orleans death grind/hardcore group BRAT has today announced their signing to Prosthetic Records. Alongside the signing announcement, the Crescent City four-piece has shared new single – titled Social Grace. Watch the music video for Social Grace exclusively via Metal Injection here. Social Grace is taken from BRAT‘s forthcoming debut album of the same name, with more news on the full-length to be revealed in the coming months.

In tandem with the single is our music video that draws inspiration from classic murder mysteries and depicts the ugly realities behind the pomp and circumstance of the aristocracy.”

BRAT‘s self described yassified look shirks more traditional metal imagery in favor of a pink-pilled Y2K aesthetic, with plenty of nods to their favorite femme pop icons. As the band sets their sights on making strides in the heavy metal and hardcore world, BRAT‘s end goal is to “put bimboviolence and barbiegrind on the map”.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS Returns to Studio for New Album

American atmospheric black metal band ABIGAIL WILLIAMS is in the process of recording its new studio album. It is expected to be released next year on Agonia Records.

“After two long years of contemplation, we’ve finally returned to the studio to revisit and refine our upcoming album,” comments Ken Sorceron, founder of ABIGAIL WILLIAMS. “The path we’ve walked on this creative journey has had plenty of ups and downs, but our determination to get it right has never wavered. Nearing its 20th year of existence (having been formed in 2004), ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has upgraded its formula to a quartet, comprising KenSorceron (ex-Aborted, ex-The Faceless, Vale Of Pnath) on vocals and guitars, Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath) on guitars, John Porada (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer) on bass and Gabe Seeber (Decrepit Birth) on drums. With Sorceron retaining his leading role, the band intends to continue its evolution and expand on its unique and intensive sound, forged throughout five studio albums, and anchored in black metal with shades of death metal & symphonic metal.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS‘ drive to create dark and powerful music debuted on the album “In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns” (2008), released on Cadlelight Records, who served as the band’s label for the majority of its career (excluding 2019’s “Walk Beyond the Dark”, released on Blood Music). Their early style encompassed symphonic black metal, and underwent its first overhaul in 2010, on “In the Absence of Light”. The installment saw the band drift towards more traditional black metal, but it wasn’t until “Becoming” (2012) the group unlocked its true potential, and laid foundations for its future sound. Through “The Accuser” (2015) and the last album, “Walk Beyond the Dark”, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS evolved significantly and dove deep into exploring new sonic perspectives, both powerful and emotionally charged.

The band is known for its intensive live act, and was last seen on stage throughout the North American Devastation of the Nation tour 2022, where it played in support of Rotting Christ and Borkanagar.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has taken its name after a girl whose false accusations ignited the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The band’s logo was crafted by Christophe Szpajdel (Emperor, Moonspell, Borknagar).

UFOMAMMUT Premiere Engulfing ‘Vibrhate’ Video

BrooklynVegan has hosted an exclusive premiere of UFOMAMMUT’s new video for “Vibrhate,” a track from the Italian psychedelic/doom trio’s Crookhead EP, nearing Halloween release on their own Supernatural Cat Records.

Presenting three new tracks, the Crookhead EP was recorded at Flat Scenario Studio in Italy by Lorenzo Stecconi in July 2022, and was mixed and mastered at Triple Sun by Lorenzo Stecconi. The artwork, as with all UFOMAMMUT releases, was designed and printed by Malleus Rock Art Lab, the graphic design collective which Poia and Urlo are both founding members of. The artwork, with its handprinted and numbered silkscreened cover, adds an artistic touch to the EP. Crookhead is a foretaste of the band’s impending tenth album, which will be released when the band celebrates their 25th anniversary in 2024!

Like any good psychedelic trip, the music of UFOMAMMUT has always been inextricably intertwined with visual art, as if to reinforce the relevance and importance of visual art in the band’s music. This is reflected in the new video for “Vibrhate,” also edited by Malleus.

The band reveals with the new song, “‘Vibrhate’ is the second song taken from the brand new Crookhead EP. It’s a short song, which moves rapidly: an instant of madness, as described by the text, which makes us imagine finding ourselves transformed into fire. Our heart beats, kept by burning fingers. Time passes, simmering in our psyche, as we slowly separate from our bodies. And in an instant, it’s all over.”

Writes BrooklynVegan, “It’s more a concise track than the recently-released, nine-minute title track, and it finds the band’s mix of heavy, trippy, and melodic vibes in fine form.”

UFOMAMMUT’s Crookhead EP will be released on Halloween, October 31st. The EP will released digitally and in a limited edition vinyl version of 500 copies: 200 on Marble Red Vinyl, 200 in Marble Gold Vinyl, and 100 in clear transparent vinyl which will be available only on the band’s fall tour.
