New American Rock Project SWTEVL – Feat. Mick Murphy & Tairrie B. Murphy – Drop Fiery Debut Single + Video ‘Hellzapoppin’

Named after their favorite 𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 album from 1977, 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 (𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 “𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐥”) is a new American rock project by the powerhouse husband & wife duo 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 & 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁. 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 formerly of 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧.

Vocalist / multi-hyphenate artist 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁, who is also known for her previous bands (𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 & 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞) as well as being the first white female rapper (signed by 𝐄𝐚𝐳𝐲 𝐄 of 𝐍𝐖𝐀) to release a full length solo album on a major label in the early 90’s, met musical partner and multi-faceted instrumentalist / producer 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲(𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝟕𝟎’𝐬, 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐯𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 & 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬) at a party in the Hollywood hills in 2000 and have been making music in various forms together ever since.

“After 9 studio albums and years of touring, we decided to put 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧 on a permanent hiatus and made the life-changing move from my hometown of Los Angeles, California to 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤’𝐬 hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee where we spent 2022 into 2023 hyper-focused on making new music under a new moniker. We quietly wrote, recorded & produced 30 new songs (20 originals & 10 covers) in our home studio 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦. After 2022 came to a fitful end with two years of living through the chaos of a worldwide pandemic and the politics which accompanied it, like most of America, we were mentally exhausted. Reflecting on the past two decades, we also realized that we were not the same people we were when we lived in L.A. Like artists do, we changed and grew. Not wanting to revamp the past musically or relive those songs emotionally, we felt it was time to cut loose, kick off the dust and recharge our creative batteries. We took our time recording as we wanted to recapture our rock love of collaboration and reemerge reinvigorated with a forward-thinking, positive new perspective and approach to our songwriting with themes addressing who we are now as Gen Xers as opposed to who we were when we first met 23 years ago. With age comes introspection and with that in mind, 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 doesn’t spell the end of a musical relationship but rather the beginning of a new one as we move brazenly into our next chapter, without apology.” 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁

In contrast to the notoriously razor sharp throat shredding and confrontational screaming metal of their former band which could be considered more niche, 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 is not a brutal bloodletting. The music as well as the lyrics are far more inviting. Combining a juxtaposition between contemplative dark & sultry atmospheric alternative and upbeat bouncy guitar driven straight head classic garage rock n’ roll with a dash of post punk spirit. While 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 has played all the instruments, produced & mixed the new tracks, this time around the DIY minded duo are also sharing vocals in various ways on all the songs which adds another vibrantly fresh and unique dynamic to the overall vibe of the diverse recordings, including the covers which they plan to release as a full length album on their own in 2024.

𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞’𝐬 distinct spoken to sung vocal styling seamlessly moves through 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤’𝐬 signature organic seventies inspired solos, bass lines and drums with infectiously catchy hooks and an uncensored edge that sonically captures their synchronicity and authentic sound. Without compromise comes evolution and 𝐌𝐫 & 𝐌𝐫𝐬 𝐌 are continuously expanding their musical repertoire with every release and reinvention as the couple’s creative chemistry and unflinching honesty remains as present as ever for a new era.

With their upbeat fiery debut single fittingly named 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐳𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧’ dropping on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 of October, 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 are unveiling their first official music video filmed & edited by the duo. A tenacious declaration of independence with a passion fueled taste of their forthcoming self-produced, eponymous double album 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 which will be made available worldwide on 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑. This raucous high energy anthem takes us to the dance floor with an uplifting message of rock n’ roll resilience which permeates the tongue-in-cheek playfulness of the lyrics. A testament to persistence against all odds and a rebellious statement of self determination.

𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐳𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧’ is out now and available for download & streaming on all major music platforms (𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐢𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲, 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚, 𝐓𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐥, 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐫, 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜) and 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩!

GREEN LUNG Reveal Video for Heaviest Song to Date ‘One For Sorrow’

Less than a month from the release of their hotly anticipated third album, This Heathen Land through Nuclear Blast Records on 3rd November, London’s GREEN LUNG have released their heaviest song to date, ‘One For Sorrow’. A masterfully crafted blend of traditional doom with gothic synth atmospheres and a crushing slow-motion beatdown, its lyrics exploring the burden of depression make it the band’s most nakedly human song yet.

Tom Templar says “This was the last song we wrote for the album, and it’s the only song on This Heathen Land that doesn’t relate to a physical landscape of Britain, but instead the skies above. It features some of my most personal lyrics yet, but it’s still steeped in folklore – the variation of the popular ‘One for Sorrow’ rhyme at the end dates back to 1780, and is wonderfully creepy. We were delighted to welcome back Julian Firth to play the ornithologist in the music video, along with Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk, who created some incredible costumes and a truly uncanny magpie creature.”

Pre-order This Heathen Land on various formats now at: https://greenlung.bfan.link/thllp

This Heathen Land is the most complete manifestation of the band’s vision to date, fulfilling their long-held goal to, in the words of vocalist Tom Templar, create the definitive soundtrack to the folk horror film in our heads. On This Heathen Land, the band have forged a sound and identity that is entirely their own, while maintaining the Sabbathian heaviness and addictive songcraft which made their previous albums so beloved in the metal underground. From the cover art to the vinyl inserts and lyrical themes, This Heathen Land is a painstakingly-researched and executed heavy metal love letter to the folkloric landscape of the UK.

SONS OF SOUNDS Release New Single + Video ‘My Name’ from Upcoming Album

The fact that SONS OF SOUNDS are an outstanding live band is well known. They will certainly prove this again on the upcoming tour with NAZARETH. Reason enough to show this in the latest video “My Name”.

But the song says much more, as singer Roman Beselt explains:
“In “My Name” I deal with the question of how well do you really know yourself or think you know others? Often very superficially.
But how quickly one tends to form the people so right as they fit best in the stuff. We all know sayings like “stay the way you are”, “Thats my boy!” etc. are certainly not meant badly and yet they somehow lock us into something static.
But aren’t we something constantly changing?
“My Name” breaks down the question with an ironic undertone along the lines of how would you like me to be? Do I fit so well into your ideal image? Nicely in line, politically correct, faithful to the Bible and tax-free? or sex-addicted but vegan? Do you trust yourself? Your family or rather a stranger on TV, who reads scripted news to you?
It’s not easy, but worth a try to really put yourself in everyone’s shoes – even your biggest enemy. Wouldn’t you do the same? Maybe it is a spirit who plays all these roles and has lived all these lives before! Satan, Jesus, Superstar! at the end of the day – A simple boy who plays guitar.
Therefore know your place! and know your name.”

AVELION Share Video for New Single ‘Alone in Time’

AVELION release the video for their new single “Alone in Time”, watch it HERE!

The flagbearers of modern Italian progressive metal, AVELION, have been churning out bombastic singles for more than a decade, dropping a string of releases that have been helping shape the genre.

“After the release of our latest single ‘Bound To Blackness’ (June 2022), we consolidated the work done with Rick, our new singer, and this led to the completion of nine new songs.
It has been a long journey, in which we worked a lot, with a very high level of care, not worrying about the modern trend of prioritising quantity over quality. Releasing a new track just to ‘trigger the algorithm’ is not among our priorities. And our producer Simone Mularoni knows this well, as he guided us through the several production phases of the song: some of them were absolutely crazy! Thanks Simo!
This time the so called icing on the cake is the mastering, handled by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.
‘Alone In Time’ is a catchy yet multilayered song which shows all the key characteristics of the ‘Avelion sound’.
The concept of the song is the cyclical nature of Time, creator of infinite possibilities and at the same time destroyer of everything.
An infinite loop, like Nietzsche’s Eternal Return, which becomes geometric surrealism, just like the ‘Möbius Strip’ so dear to David Lynch.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all our fans for their patience and support, we really can’t wait for you to hear everything we’ve been working on!
New songs and new concerts are coming in the next few months… so stay tuned!”.

Each AVELION release expands and clarifies the band’s mission to bring forth the most dynamic sonic offerings. Marrying progressive and modern metal influences, AVELION approach each song as a unique opportunity to destroy and rebuild the listener’s perception.

Line-up:

Riccardo Rizzardelli – Vocals
Oreste Giacomini – Keyboards
Leonardo Freggi- Guitars
Danilo Arisi – Bass
Alessandro Ponzi – Drums

AVELION have developed a gloriously turbulent sound that is uniquely their own. Hailing from Parma, Italy, the band have been tearing venues apart across Europe with their powerful fusion of genres since 2008.
In 2011 AVELION released the first studio work: the EP “Cold Embrace”. The following year the band started an intense live activity, leading to the great opportunity to play as opening act for Seventh Wonder (with Tommy Karevik, Kamelot).
In 2012 the band released the promotional single “Falling Down” which sees the collaboration with guitarist Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth, Vision Divine)
AVELION‘s second EP, “Liquid Breathing”, was published in 2013. The EP delivers a more personal, modern and mature sound: melodic progressive metal mixed with djent influences, all combined with a strong electronic flavour.
In 2015 the band entered Simone Mularoni’s Domination Studio (DGM) to record their first full length album: “Illusion of Transparency”, which was released via Revalve Records in 2017.
In March 2018 AVELION supported the legendary ANGRA in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Portugal. The dates also featured Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime as special guest.
In May 2018 the band released the single “Echoes and Fragments” REMIX featuring the Electro Metal artist The Algorithm.
Following a widespread approval from both critics and fans, the band kept playing live opening for Primal Fear, Lacuna Coil and Kiko Loureiro.
At the end of 2019 the band parted ways with the frontman William Verderi. Following the split, AVELION started composing new songs for their next musical chapters along with new vocalist Riccardo Rizzardelli. The first single from the revitalised line-up, “Bound to Blackness”, was released in June 2022.

Chapter 6 – Vinternatt of Cloudscapes & Silhouettes.

“Heavy lies the crown”

The title “Vinternatt,” which translates to “winter night” in Norwegian, elegantly encapsulates the mood of this live performance. The live performance edition of “Cloudscapes & Silhouettes” digs deep into the emotional core of the music. The raw, unfiltered energy of the band allows you to connect with the music on a profound level.

While the live performance edition allows you to meet the band behind the music, we have not forgotten the promise of the cinematic edition. It’s a later release that will offer a fresh perspective, keeping the music interesting and ever-evolving.
