On November 2nd the debut album of the southern German melodic doom / post-black / death metallers SARLIC BLISS will be released. A first taste of “Brægn Hæft”, the title of the longplayer, is now available on the MDD Youtube channel with “Departed Grace”.
The song is almost exemplary for the musical versatility of the band and contains besides quiet, melancholic and doomy sounds also a look at the harsh and aggressive side of the quintet. By the way, with a stately 7:38min “Departed Grace” is not even the longest track of the album, but stands out a bit due to the breathtaking guest appearance of singer Gogo Melone. The video was realized by Justin Morina and creatively blends the boundaries between story and lyric video. Find the tracklist of the over 45 minutes long album below.
IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has inked a label deal with Massacre Records, who will proudly release the band’s forthcoming, new album “Unite And Conquer”, on December 1, 2023! Available as Jewel Case CD, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, the album will be exclusively released in Europe via the Geman record label.
Gabriel Guardian states: “Immortal Guardian is thrilled to unite forces with our first European record label: Massacre Records! We look forward to bringing our Super Metal sound to European metalheads with a legendary label. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
With their third full-length album, “Unite And Conquer”, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN took new direction with their writing process and overall sound on the album. While trying new things, they also kept a taste of their classic sound in the process. This opus showcases a revolutionary sound, fusing heavier and more melodic elements into their “Super Metal” tapestry. IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s signature “Super Metal” sound is an exploration of the metal spectrum, seamlessly blending elements of progressive, power, tech-death, and symphonic shred.
Give ear, as today, the band has unleashed their first album single, the CD bonus track “Rise Of The Phoenix”! A music video, only available in Europe, is now streaming at:
“This is a heartwarming tribute to Gabriel’s mother, conveying her challenging upbringing and the resilience she embodies,” the band reveals. “These lyrics paint a vivid picture of a childhood marked by hardship and sacrifice, with a sense of isolation and struggle. Despite the adversities she faces, the lyrics carry a message of hope and transformation, likening her to a phoenix rising from the ashes. The chorus powerfully encapsulates her strength and determination to overcome, emphasizing her ability to soar higher and stronger, even in the face of adversity. Overall, these words beautifully capture the theme of resilience and triumph in the face of adversity, dedicated to his mother’s inspiring journey.
This track is a massive build up and when you think it has gotten to the maximum, it will still surprise you. Remarkable vocal melodies with a very heavy sound, orchestrations and very low riffs fulfill a huge massive and harmonic colossus. This song is very riff-heavy as well as features one of the most beautiful guitar and keyboard themes on the album. We could not see a better song to close “Unite And Conquer”.”
During the making of this album, all band members were going through some crazy experiences in their lives, that reflects in the music, according to Gabriel Guardian: “Like we did during our ‘Psychosomatic’ album, we were writing these songs in real-time as we lived through these major events in the world and in our personal lives”, he states.
“Unite And Conquer” lyrically traverses a multifaceted emotional journey from introspection and self-discovery that passionately calls for unity and change. Vocalist Carlos Zema adds: “The poetic verses entwine seamlessly with the captivating melodies, delivering a musical narrative that resonates with the listener on a profound level, leaving an indelible mark on the heart and soul. With a simple message: This is the time to ‘Unite and Conquer’.”
Slated for a release, exclusively in Europe via Massacre Records, on December 1, 2023, the pre-sale of “Unite And Conquer” is now available at THIS LOCATION!
“Unite And Conquer” was mixed and mastered by Joshua Lopez at Widowmaker Studios, and features guest appearances by Vicky Psarakis (The Agonist) and Primal Fear’s Ralf Scheepers. The album artwork was created by Masiha Fattahi.

Psychedelic Montreal four-piece rock and roll band, THE DAMN TRUTH, are pleased to announce their brand-new single “I Just Gotta Let You Know,” released Friday October 20th.
The single is available to pre-save on all streaming platforms HERE.
The single will also be accompanied with an official music video that will premiere on the day of release. In the meantime, watch the trailer for the official music video on YouTube HERE.
“I Just Gotta Let You Know” dovetails The Damn Truth’s October 2023 UK Headline Concerts, plus shows supporting Glenn Hughes on his Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live Celebrating The 50th Anniversary of ‘Burn’ UK tour. Tickets for all concerts are available from TheGigcartel.com.
“This is the first song from the sessions for our forthcoming studio album that we are recording with our producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica, Motley Crue) at Bryan Adam’s recording studio ‘The Warehouse’ in Vancouver,” says TDT’s lead singer Lee-La Baum.
Continues Lee-la, “Working with Bob a second time was even more inspiring than the first. I don’t know exactly what comes over me, but when I’m in the vocal booth singing into Frank Sinatra’s mic, knowing that Bob is in the other room, basically hanging on my every breath, I am able to let go and try all sorts of things that weren’t ever in my mind before. It’s really freaking fun!”
Adds lead guitarist Tom Shemer, “The whole thing started with a riff and I knew immediately that I had something cool here. I showed the riff to Lee-la and she came up with the melody and lyrics for the verses right there on the spot.”
“We had the song banging on high energy from beginning to end, very much in the spirit of The Kinks, and once the train was rolling, there was no stopping it.”
“Once Bob heard the song, he felt that the chorus should be different somehow. It didn’t take long to iron out the details and bring that chorus to a new level”
“There was a real moment of collective emotion when Lee-la sang the chorus for the first time in the studio. We all felt it, it was magical”
“Bob said ‘forget everything you know about guitar playing and just go for it.’ I only played one take of the solo. He was right!”
In 2021, TDT released the critically acclaimed album “Now or Nowhere.” Produced by Grammy Award-winning Bob Rock, the album is available from www.thedamntruth.com.
No stranger to UK radio, The Damn Truth have had four singles from the “Now Or Nowhere” album playlisted on Planet Rock, including “This Is Who We Are Now,” “Tomorrow,” “Only Love,” and “Lonely.” “This Is Who We Are Now” was played on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show with Johnnie Walker. On several occasions, TDT won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock’s Louder Sound. The band were recently featured on Blues Rock Review’s 12 Great Canadian Blues and Blues Rock Albums of the 2020s.
The band have been championed by the music press with extensive magazine coverage in Rolling Stone France, Classic Rock, Blues Matters, Guitarist, Powerplay, Guitar Techniques, Record Collector, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, Hard Rock Hell, MNPR, and R’N’R Magazine.
“The real magic of The Damn Truth is best experienced uncut, in our full set,” says TDT’s lead singer and guitarist, Lee-La Baum. “Our connection with our audiences is the most important thing, so don’t miss experiencing it when we tour the UK in October!”
“The Damn Truth are a fresh revivalism of the psyche music scene from the mid-60s,” says Jeff Laufer, editor Rock Bands of LA. “Critics and fans praise their regeneration of the hard rock sound and values.”
“Bob Rock found a spirit within the band that he hadn’t experienced for many years. “He saw something special… an artist with burning talent that needed the right direction to break wide open like lightning in a bottle.” – Rock Bands Of LA
The Damn Truth have toured Europe and North America and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (they partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), The Sheepdogs, Styx, King King, and Rival Sons, and were also featured on Joe Bonamassa’s 2021 Keeping The Blues Alive Stream-A-Thon.
They sold out the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles and the Corona Theatre in their hometown of Montreal. One of their music videos was featured on the official Janis Joplin Facebook page. It’s a culmination of a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears.
“Watching The Damn Truth is a bit like watching a film in an i-Max cinema in that you have to really keep up with the action to ensure you don’t miss anything!” – Rock and Blues Muse

Following the recent announcement of the debut album, today Dutch black metal entity SUOL releases the second single from the record in the shape of “Over de Geute”. The video is now premiering at No Clean Singing: watch it atTHIS LOCATION. SUOL‘s self-titled debut album is due out October 27th 2023 via Swarte Yssel. The first single from the album, “Slot van Voorst”, was premiered at Black Metal Daily. Stream it HERE.
“Suol” tracklist:
01. Hellevaart 02. Slot van Voorst 03. Over de Geute 04. Vrouwe IJssel 05. Wetterman’s Waanzin 06. Bodemdrift
At once prudently traditional and brazenly unorthodox, SUOL’s iteration of black metal simmers and shimmers, flooding the senses in a fever dream of passion, violence and ancient folklore.
After releasing the albums for Shagor, Ossaert, Dinbethes and Weerzin, J. and P. decided to put their shared passion for local myths, sagas and historical stories into a new project: SUOL. Local folktales and dramatic events from past history around the Zwolle and the IJssel area make up the thematics on the record.
To strengthen the local character of the record, P. and J. decided to work with musicians from their local region exclusively. Supported on drums by Elshschappij Tovenaere, on vocals by H. and S and on spoken word by D., the self-titled debut of SUOL was born. Let these six songs take you on a path from Zwolle across the IJssel river towards the Zuiderzee, past arsonist robber barons, shore devils, black shadows, devoured villages and strung-up murderers.
As with Shagor, Dinbethes and Weerzin, the collaboration for the artwork was found at Artfromtheunderground. The pencil drawings were supplied by J.B. Both the Digipak release and the digital release will be handled by Swarte Yssel.
BASK have taken us on quite a long, strange and headbanging trip. Ten years ago, the band came thundering down from the mountains of North Carolina with their debut album. ‘American Hollow’ cast their pastoral landscapes in in country-twinged doom, but on the next two albums, the hearty four-piece painted with a headier and heavier brush.
Now that they’ve got a solid decade under their belts, Bask are ready to keep on trucking. This December, they’re touring up and down the East Coast, with three shows around their home state. These guys are no strangers to the open road either. They’ve toured with everyone from High on Fire and Pallbearer to Guided By Voices, honing their steamrolling riffs and trippy visuals for anyone who’s in search of a good vibe.
Dates December 9 – Charlotte, NC @ Snug Harbor [TICKETS] December 10 – Richmond, VA @ Get Tight Lounge [TICKETS] December 12 – Brooklyn, NY @ Saint Vitus [TICKETS] December 13 – Boston, MA @ O’Brien’s Pub [TICKETS] December 14 – Philadelphia, PA @ Kung Fu Necktie [TICKETS] December 15 – Chapel Hill, NC @ Local 506 [TICKETS] December 16 – Asheville, NC @ Eulogy [TICKETS] *FREE SHOW*
Bask will play songs from across their wide-ranging discography, including cuts off their most recent release. ‘III’ was named one of the best records of 2019 by Metal Injection. Stream, download or purchase the album HERE.

Mysterious dark heavy metal act DEATH MAGICK is pleased to announce the release in CD/MC format of their debut demo, “Demo MMXXIII”. The EP is due out on November 10th, 2023 via Dawnbreed Records. A vinyl edition will follow in early 2024.
The first single, “Violence is King”, is now streaming at THIS LOCATION.
Remember when heavy metal had a real stigma for being Satanic, loaded with occult themes that where about as hidden as the sun on a cloudless day? Well, DEATH MAGICK is the band the parents of the 80s were shaking in their boots about!
More than a little reminiscent of heavy metal greats of the past while not once afraid to do a little bit more than dabbling in the occult, this is a demo that really speaks to the dark side of heavy metal and knowing how to do it all the justice one could hope for. The speed, the melodies, the very production – everything! – about this piece is that ferocious injection of classic darkness that many are constantly insatiable for with extremely few able to deliver it on such a scale like what DEATH MAGICK has brought forth from the depths of Hell.
You could travel back in time, place a CD of these three tracks on any store in the 80s selling heavy metal, and it would have blended in with absolute ease with many sure to pick the piece up to later hail it as what sent them down the devilishly excellent paths of heavy metal in the days of their youth. It’s the sort of darkness that is infectious in every given form with a visage of heavy metal that is nigh-on seductive. In no small way, DEATH MAGICK has woven a spell that is not to be underestimated.

1. End of Time 2. Violence is King 3. Carve the Symbol on My Flesh
