After an adventurous festival summer with appearances at the legendary Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze, amongst others, boisterous thrash metal engine NERVOSA is far away from taking things slow and accelerates even more by smashing their new single, “Elements Of Sin”. “Elements Of Sin” marks the third single cut from the fierce upcoming fifth full-length, Jailbreak, to finally be released this Friday, September 29 via Napalm Records! This raging sonic monster features some of the album’s most insane guitar work and thundering vocals and is accompanied by a fitting official music video that emphasizes the unstoppable energy of this all-female powerhouse.

Finally seeing the light of day, Jailbreak is a decisive start of a new era in the band’s history, as it’s the first NERVOSA album with guitarist and founding member Prika Amaral on vocal duties, and showcases the mighty new lineup completed by the immensely talented and well experienced Michaela Naydenova on drums, Hel Pyre on bass and Helena Kotina on guitars.

Prika Amaral on “Elements of Sin”:
“’Elements Of Sin’ was one of the first songs that me and Helena composed together. I remember when the riff from the chorus came at the end of 2021 and the lyrics of the chorus came together. We were so excited with this song that we also composed a few parts of the drums at that time. The process of composing of this album was very fun.”

With their previous record, Perpetual Chaos (2.8M plays on Spotify), NERVOSA not only secured their first chart positions (#18 GER Official Album Charts, #6 US Hard Music Albums, #9 US Top New Artist Albums charts), but also performed at some of Europe’s biggest festivals!

Among its various themes, brand new album Jailbreak explores messages of breaking free from everyone and everything holding you back from doing exactly what you want to do. It encourages the listener to be proud of who they are, to trust in themselves and the strength that lies within them. The album’s lyrical themes comment on our society in a direct, critical manner, with messages delivered through intensely fast-twitching, raw soundscapes.

“I’m very happy with the result of how our new album turned out. This time, we were able to take even more risks and do new things. With two guitars the doors open to a whole new world of possibilities, in fact NERVOSA had two guitars in the beginning, but then we decided to go with one guitar for logistical reasons, since it would be easier to move with one less person for tours. Now NERVOSA has a much bigger structure that allowed this addition, and we are really enjoying this moment of the band. The process of writing this record was the most fun and brought the most musicality, enriching the band.

Helena Kotina adds:
“I think Jailbreak is NERVOSA‘s most revolutionary record, both musically and lyrically. It was a very challenging process but at the same time very constructive. We were able to take care of every detail until we obtained the best result.”

Jailbreak kicks off with charging “Endless Ambition”, a track previously released in early 2023 that acted as a first harbinger for everything that is about to come on the album. The track immediately showcases the incredibly powerful attitude and talent of Amaral as frontwoman. Raging “Suffocare”, which deals with several aspects of toxic relationships, and “Ungrateful” continue on the path of the intense opening track, before easing into the beautiful, epic intro of “Seed Of Death”. With its philosophical lyrics that explore questions about the never ending cycle of life, the song grabs at an omnipresent issue relevant to all of us. Relentless title track “Jailbreak” attacks with a thrash metal chorus and roaring guitar solos. As a very special treat, NERVOSA spice up the intense track “When The Truth Is A Lie” with none other than an impressive guest contribution from legendary EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt, whilst INFECTED RAIN/DEATH DEALER UNION vocalist Lena Scissorhands provides another strong guest feature by lending her voice on “Superstition Failed”. GOATBURNER Premiere ‘Dismemberment’ Video

Finnish noisemongers GOATBURNER premiere their unsettling new video for “Dismemberment”. The song is taken from their new album “Fatal”, due out October 6th 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

“‘Dismemberment’ is the last song we finished for the album and it’s also the closing track. The working title ‘Chainsaw’ was referring to the opening riff, but it became very clear in the studio, that the song should be about cutting with a chainsaw. Increased electricity prices and novice chainsaw usage leads into grotesque result, which Yonitapes captured very well on the video. Lead actor Vili Mäkinen is our close friend from Galvanizer.”

GOATBURNER, formed in 2017 and featuring Keijo Niinimaa (ROTTEN SOUND, MORBID EVILS, AGE OF WOE) and Jaakko Forsman (RATFACE, SKULMAGOT), create a caustic atmosphere somewhere between massive sludge and frantic high-speed thrashing.

“Fatal” was written in between 2019 and 2022, slowly and steadily and mostly at the rehearsal sessions. The album was recorded and mixed by Kaos at Chaotic Doom Cave studios from May 2022 to November 2022 and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound Studios in early 2023.

GOATBURNER is mostly inspired by their own music (also written for the other groups the members are or have been in) over the years, but sources of inspiration can ben found in the old school death metal scene and bands like Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse and Demigod.

Italians thrash masters GAME OVER have released their second single ‘The Cult’, taken from the new album ‘Hellframes’ to be released on October 20th via Scarlet Records.

‘Hellframes’ is a neck-breaking album where Game Over keep delivering their rabid, insane brand of thrash metal and pushing the songwriting out of the comfort zone at the same time.

A frantic mix of thrashing madness, punk attitude, infecting melodies and some creepy obscure atmospheres.

Lyrically-wise, a couple of tracks are intricately woven together, telling the tale of a 15th century priest who birthed an occult cult, re-discovered in modern times through technology and unleashing unspeakable evil from hell.

SLIDHR Present Second Song ‘What The Gauntlet Bestows’

As a second evocation from forthcoming album “White Hart!“, Ireland’s finest SLIDHR present ‘What The Gauntlet Bestows‘. This perfectly executed new composition convinces with full blown Black Metal fanaticism and carefully interwoven passages of ominous calm. Listen via Bandcamp and the label’s YT channel, below.

Composer J. Deegan notes:

“Given that the first single and title track is probably the most musically direct and aggressive track on the album, it is easy to see why this one sounds a lot more diverse. The core is still somewhat brutal and straightforward but branching out to avoid fatigue. Some bands can do brutality from beginning to end but that is not really our thing. As with almost all SLIDHR tracks, this one began with me figuring out stuff on guitar. It’s my main and my favorite instrument to write on. When I compose a song, I try to let it develop as I write but also not overthink. The last section of this one was a result of my fondness for stuff like BATHORY and ISENGARD. Heavy, catchy folkish vibes. We have visited this before but there’s always room for more of this stuff. Lyrically, this one deals with those who are too weak to stand for what they believe in and are content to live a life of servitude to tyranny. Weaklings who are happy to do as they are commanded for fear of the master’s whip. Perhaps for some the years of punishment will result in a breaking point.“

An understanding of SLIDHR is an understanding of the overwhelming essence of death.

SLIDHR is the exultation to a dead realm, itself a spark in a realm of nothingness, so far removed from recurring banality. It is creeping death enveloping the empty body of man, a great plague decimating mortal unity.“

Formed in 2005 and hailing from Dublin, Ireland, SLIDHR is an immersive maelstrom of venomously misanthropic Black Metal. The band’s name derives from the Sliðr, a river flowing through Hel, the land of the dead in Norse mythology – a moniker which befits their dark enigmatic power.

Founded as a solo project by artist, tattooist and bassist/guitarist/vocalist Joseph Deegan, since 2013 the band has featured Icelandic drummer Bjarni Einarsson (SINMARA, ALMYRKVI) and more recently bassist Stefan Dietz.

Following the 2006 cassette release of “Demo 1” (Debemur Morti Productions), the band has unleashed two full-length albums – “Deluge” (2013, DMP) and “The Futile Fires Of Man” (2018, Ván Records) – in addition to two EPs and two split releases. The abyssal atmosphere of these records in combination with furiously intense select live performances at festivals such as Inferno, Prague Death Mass, Caledonian Darkness and Ascension has established SLIDHR as a force to be reckoned with.

A highly-anticipated third long player entitled “White Hart!” will be released via DMP at the end of 2023.
