ENTHEOS will be touring in support of their Time Will Take Us All full-length released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records. Pushing progressive death metal in ever more imaginative directions, ENTHEOS continues to stand apart from the pack, incorporating elements drawn from myriad genres – including death metal, groove, grunge, electronica, slam, gothic rock, jazz, prog and more.

“We knew when we started writing that we really wanted to make something darker and heavier that was still uniquely ENTHEOS, and we knew that we wanted to make a record that really came from our hearts and captured where we want to take this band,” explains vocalist Chaney Crabb.

“The new album also has a strong ‘trippy’ vibe, not in a generic sense but meaning when you are done listening to it you feel like you’ve gone on a journey,” adds multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis. “I’ve always loved albums that gave me that feeling. I can’t say we set out to have the experience, it just sort of happened and that’s something I’m proud of.”

Having stripped down to a two-piece in 2020, this has helped to streamline the band and allow the core members to make the music they want to with no compromise, which is clearly to their betterment. Koperweis – who takes the role of drummer in the band’s live lineup – has long written most of the guitar parts, so it was not a radically different writing process, but allowed him the freedom of complete control.

With Koperweis handling production duties and Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder) mixing the record, all of the drums were tracked by Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate, and Koperweis tracked guitars and vocals. They also recruited former member Evan Brewer to supply the bass. Though committed to their status as a two-piece, the band does have a live lineup with Brian James (ex-Fallujah) and Robert Brown (ex-Slaughter To Prevail) providing guitar, maintaining their reputation for being a killer live band. Having delivered the best record of their career they are also in a very good place mentally, but they do not get ahead of themselves.

ELM STREET Premiere ‘The Price Of War’ Single & Music Video from Upcoming Album

Following an ambitious multi-year tour that saw the band bring their heavy metal power to Europe, Canada and the USA, October 27, 2023 sees Australian heavy metal act ELM STREET finally return with their third studio album: “The Great Tribulation”! The album will be released as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats through Massacre Records, the pre-sale is available at THIS LOCATION!

After the four-piece shared a previously-released, first single, “Take The Night”, today, ELM STREET presents a brand new music video for “The Price Of War”! The second single from “The Great Tribulation” is a thrash / groove metal hybrid, capturing the band looking at the state of conflict overseas and questioning who are the real winners and losers (if there are any in war). The song is propelled by Tomislav Perkovic’s lightning-pace double bass for a machine-gun intro before the band locks into a groove, with a melodic and technical middle section showcasing the band’s musical dexterity. The term “The Price Of War” is multi-dimensional, it not only addresses those who profit from the business of war,” the band states, “but also highlights the human cost of fighting for someone else’s gain.

A soundtrack for troubled times, or a charred mirror reflecting the state of the world today, “The Great Tribulation” provides commentary on the darker side of life, and pairs it with the band’s most ambitious and hard-hitting music to date. While ELM STREET‘s first two albums, “Barbed Wire Metal” and “Knock ‘Em Out… With A Metal Fist”, have both been revered as modern classics by fans of traditional-flavoured heavy metal, “The Great Tribulation” seeks to take the template set by the two albums preceding it, and amplifies it by several notches, resulting in the band’s most powerful, complex, and heavy performances recorded to date. Everything about “The Great Tribulation” encapsulates a band at the peak of their powers, ELM STREET have left no stone un-turned in expressing their diverse musical palette, resulting in a wide-ranging collection of songs that stand tall individually, but extremely powerful as a collective unit.

Album number three from the thunder from down under may be well received by old fans and new alike and will set a very high benchmark for what to expect in the future. If you are a fan of classic powerhouses like Helloween, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, or Manowar, get ready for the ride of your life!

“The Great Tribulation” was recorded at Melbourne’s legendary Sing Sing Studios, in fact, may be one of the last albums recorded in its current location. Luke Cincotta (Airbourne, The Amity Affliction, Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Northlane) was the master behind the recording desk, and German legend Michael Mainx (Toxpack, Tankard, Destruction) mixed the album. The striking front cover was painted by Andreas Marschall (Kreator, In Flames, Sodom, Blind Guardian), and the album design and additional artwork provided by Dark Prince Graphix.

“The Great Tribulation” track listing:

  1. Seven Sirens
  2. Take The Night
  3. The Price Of War
  4. If Provoked, Will Strike
  5. Behind The Eyes Of Evil
  6. The Last Judgement
  7. The Darker Side Of Blue
  8. A State Of Fear

ELM STREET is:
Ben Batres – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Aaron Adie – Lead Guitar
Nick Ivkovic – Bass Guitar
Tomislav Perkovic – Drums

CORNERS OF SANCTUARY Deliver Metal Makeover to The Osmonds’ ‘Crazy Horses’

Traditional American Heavy Metal band CORNERS OF SANCTUARY (COS) have released a new video for their latest cover single, “Crazy Horses.” The band’s take on the 1972 Osmonds’ classic is a modern supercharged version, highlighting the song’s original rock appeal.

“This song was a milestone in The Osmonds’ catalog, in my opinion,” said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. “It’s always been a song that has had so much power and drive to it, but never got the recognition it deserved from the rock community… we wanted to honor that in our way.”

“Crazy Horses” appears on the digital only EP, “Taking Cover,” available on SODEH Records. “Taking Cover” is COS‘ collection of cover songs. The EP officially released on August 15th and is available on most popular streaming platforms.

Corners of Sanctuary continues to roll through the remainder of 2023, recently supporting Sponge and opening for Mike Tramp among others in October. See schedule below.

COS will be dropping their annual Holiday single on November 21st along with a Merry Metal Xmas X bundle package. The band is also working on completing a new original EP, “Metal Up,” set to begin dropping singles in January 2024.

TOMORROW’S OUTLOOK Share Music Video for Single ‘Wait for the Sun’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 28, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Tomorrow's Outlook. Leave a comment

TOMORROW’S OUTLOOK are set to release their new album “Black Waves” later this year, on their own record label, Sörvik Rock Music.

The 10-track follow-up to 2018’s “A Voice Unheard” is mixed and mastered by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia/Masters Of Ceremony) and includes the first single, “Wait for the Sun”, the official music video for which can be seen below.

The concept behind the video:

After her execution by decapitation, the soul of the murderess Anna awakens aboard Draugen’s boat confused and with no memory of her ill deeds. Draugen is a mythical creature from northern Norwegian tradition, the spirit of a drowned fisherman come to warn of death – or cause it. Eternally they sail in perpetual night, always waiting for the sun. He takes her to the place of her execution where for a brief moment she finds hope in the beginning light of morning, only to have that hope torn away as the memories come flooding back. She returns to the boat to remain in the darkness of the spirit realm forever.

Black Waves is a concept album based on real events from the coastal region surrounding the Gressholman peninsula, stretching from 1748 to the early 1900s. We hear the deeply shocking story of a brutal double murder which shook a small community, and also about a once vital and important trading post which met its ultimate end in a fire centuries later. The stories are mostly told through the eyes of the people involved, whose stories are guided by the superstitions, fears, and beliefs native to the northern part of Norway.

‘Black Waves’ track listing:

Eventide
Oceans of Sadness
Black Hearts and Roses in Snow
Black Waves
Silver Ghost
Wait for the Sun
Lament of the Damned
When Falls the Axe
The Monument
The Calm (Aria cover)

Tomorrow’s Outlook is based in northern Norway and is one of the most hardworking and aspiring bands in their region.

The band uses the term Arctic heavy metal to describe its music, which is heavily influenced by their homeland both in its somewhat gloomy sound and lyrical themes.

After 15 years as a studio project, core members and songwriting partners Trond Nicolaisen, Andreas Stenseth and Øystein Kvile Hanssen decided to take it to the next level and form an actual band. They completed the lineup with singer Tony Johannessen (Thunderbolt), drummer Owe Lingvall (Nocturnal Rites) and guitarist Valentino Francavilla (White Skull).

Owe Lingvall (Dreamday Media) and Konstantin Smirnov (Frogtown) were in charge of capturing the atmosphere of the video single. The storyline was shot at Gressholman by Andreas Ursin Hellebust. All concepts by Tomorrow’s Outlook.

Additionally, Rado Javor, who created previous works for the band, including 2018’s “A Voice Unheard”, provided the record’s magnificent artwork.
