Ahead of its official release this Saturday, today Everything Is Noise presents an exclusive stream of “Dots”, the sophomore album from Italian post-metal act TETSUO, out on April 13th 2024 via Hypershape Records. Stream the album HERE.
Starting from post-metal and absorbing influences from 90’s noise and early post-hardcore, TETSUO represents one of the most relevant but unpredictable bands of the Italian underground. The overpowering feeling that emanates from the album’s tar-thick hymns is a stirring combination of exhaustion and determination. These six songs are devastatingly heavy, but the band gives equal attention to soaring melodies, speaker-rupturing riffs and to dark, immersive atmospheres, drawing inputs from several different musical sub-genres.

“‘Dots’ is a story of routine. Every ‘Dots’ song was born on a Friday night, nearly at the same hour, during our rehearsals, in the same location. ‘Dots’ is the result of a sound evolution where everything around it remains the same: same beers, same whiskeys, same volumes, same way of thinking about riffs, same expectations about what we’re doing, giving our best in every circumstance… always the same, always different…”.
TETSUO started as a three-piece in April 2019. During 2020, the band became a five-piece adding another guitar and voice to the line-up. In 2022, TETSUO’s self-titled debut album came out via Hypershape Records and the band started playing live shows around the North of Italy. The live activity lead to the composition of their second album: “Dots”. Today, the sound of the band is a balanced mix of post-metal and post-rock elements, with more unconventional 90’s post-hardcore riffs and sounds enhanced by an interesting use of stompboxes.

For over 25 years, SEVERE TORTURE has embodied the ethos of Brutal. Death. Metal. A genre-defining titan, they’ve held a commanding presence in the metal universe since 1997, blending intense performances with a relentless commitment to their visceral, raw sound.
Born from the bowels of the Dutch underground, the band emerged onto the world stage with their debut album Feasting On Blood, hailed as an epic watershed in the nascent wave of brutal death metal in 2001. The move signified a new chapter for the seasoned ensemble, marking a seismic shift that breathed fresh air into their creative process, leading to some of their darkest, most profound work yet.
This invigorated spirit came to life in 2022 with the release of the EP Fisting The Sockets – the band’s first release in an astounding 12 years. The record served as a triumphant herald for their resurgence, re-signing with Season of Mist and rekindling the flame of their brutal origins amidst a pandemic-stricken world.
Now, in 2024, Severe Torture is set to escalate to new heights of sonic savagery with their sixth full-length album, Torn from the Jaws of Death. “Moribundis Grim”, NECROPHAGIA‘s anticipated final album, due out May 10th 2024 via Time To Kill Records, is a compelling testament to perseverance, top to bottom.
After many years of silence, the legendary death metal force has reawakened and today the band is thrilled to share another single from the upcoming record: stream “Mental Decay” HERE.
Guitarist Serge Streltsov commented: “‘Mental Decay’ is a re-recording of the classic from the ‘Season of the Dead’ album. Killjoy wanted to update some of those songs with the newer, more modern sound. Plus his vocal style had changed from those years, so he wanted to make it heavier and more extreme. This track was originally supposed to come out for the 30th anniversary of the album back in 2017”.
In the years of 2016-2018, the band’s last line-up – Killjoy, Serge Streltsov, Shawn Slusarek and Jake Arnette – composed and started recording what became their final opus,“Moribundis Grim”.
Unfortunately, in 2018 Killjoy passed away before finishing the album. In 2022 with the help of special guests and former NECROPHAGIA members – John McEntee from Incantation, Titta Tani (ex Goblin) and Mirai Kawashima from Sigh – the album was finally completed.
In a way, it is quite sensational to see another NECROPHAGIA album released at this point in time, meaning 40 years after their first demos were released!
Serge Streltsov adds:
“‘Moribundis Grim’ is Killjoy’s final album. These are his last vocal performances. The album features the last Necrophagia live line up: Killjoy Desade, Serge Streltsov, Shawn Slusarek and Jake Arnette, along with special guest John McEntee and previous members Titta Tani and Mirai Kawashima. These songs are the demos the band and Killjoy worked on up until Killjoy’s passing. Also featuring re-worked versions of songs from the first album and a Samhain cover. Once again the bastard children of horror and gore capture the true essence of what Necrophagia is all about. Killjoy and Fulci Live! Gore Forever!”.
Completed from a remote creative exchange, with ideas being bounced back and forth between all members to create an eight-track barrage of death metal, “Moribundis Grim” is an incredible achievement.

NECROPHAGIA are a seminal band of the early 80s and are considered, along with Possessed and Death, one of the founding groups of death metal. NECROPHAGIA was formed in late 1983 by the Godfather of Gore Metal, Killjoy and their debut recording “Season of the Dead” was unleashed in February 1987. In the same year the Americans split despite their tremendous impact in the underground death metal scene, which they helped founding. In the middle of the 1990’s horror fan Philip Anselmo (PANTERA, DOWN) convinced Killjoy to resurrect NECROPHAGIA and joined for the next three releases including their second album “Holocausto de la Morte” (1998). The band released two more albums including “The Divine Art of Torture” (2003) and several EPs despite undergoing continued line-up changes. NECROPHAGIA‘s fourth full length “Harvest Ritual Vol. 1” (2005) saw some experimentation, while their next eerie incarnation “Deathtrip 69” featured more evil movie samples adding to the beloved vintage horror feeling. In 2014, the time came to light the black candles, chant the incantations and watch the “WhiteWorm Cathedral” rise which, without anybody knowing, would be the band’s latest offering, as Killjoy passed away on March 18, 2018.

Veonity have revealed their new lead singer and welcomes Isak Stenvall into their mighty realm! The change comes after Anders Sköld, who’s been carrying the flame for years, has decided to focus on his guitar playing only.
After recently celebrated 10 years as band, Veonity now reworks the line-up to reach new levels of power metal:
‘Bringing Isak into the band gives us a new direction and makes us even stronger. Isak is a fantastic singer, frontman and songwriter and his addition will secure Veonity’s fast and melodic power metal another dimension.’
In 2018, Isak Stenvall left fellow Swedish power metal merchants Lancer as their frontman:
“I have always had an eternal passion for power metal and when Veonity called me, I knew this would be a perfect fit and I heeded their call. It feels great to be back on the metal scene: writing, singing and forging pure power metal again!’
Anders Sköld, who has been the singer of Veonity since the release of “Into The Void” (2016), has decided to hand over the vocals duties to Isak.
‘Guitar has always been my main instrument and I realized over the years that I have to follow that calling more strongly.’
Veonity is ready to enter the studio to record their sixth album, the follow up to the acclaimed 2022 effort “Elements Of Power”, planned for a fall 2024 release through Scarlet Records.
