“The Edge” marks their first official new release with FiXT and is everything you’ve heard about the band and more. Raw and emotive both on and off the stage the single mixes both the brutal and ethereal vocal performances lacing them through searing guitar riffs, heavy hitting drums, and haunting synthesizers. ENMY have created a soundscape that is both savage as well as beautiful nfusing elements of fierce intensity, chaotic energy, and wistful yearning. In their own words ENMY explains, ““The song was lyrically written in the car while driving to the studio where we were supposed to track vocals for a different song. We ended up getting so caught up in this song that our schedule was scrapped and we ended up tracking “The Ledge” instead.”

The official music video for “The Edge,” directed and produced by Will Story, is an ominous depiction of the songs lyrics with its ambiguous displays of “Faith,” “Chaos,” and “Home,” on top of the heavy soundscape. With thought provoking lyrics inspired from the human tendency to put others up on a pedestal to be perfect In the end, we are all human and we make mistakes. The Ledge” takes listeners on a tumultuous journey through the depths of human emotion from the perspective of those under the pressure to be perfect. THE ANSWER’s New Single ‘Put Your Money On Me’ Out Now, EU Tour Starts This Week

Northern Irish hard rock legends THE ANSWER have announced the release of a brand new stomping rocker track titled ‘Put Your Money On Me’, out on 22nd March, ahead of a set of European dates and a very special one-off London show at London Dingwalls. 

A fuzzed-up rocker with a filthy groove, ‘Put Your Money On Me’ is a standalone track not included on the band’s last album ‘Sundowners’, and continues to uphold the band’s unqiue sound, picking up from where ‘Sundowners’ and last non-album single ‘Wild Heart’ left off – soulful, ballsy blues rock underpinned by an outstanding vocal performance from lead vocalist, Cormac Neeson.

Neeson says of the new track, produced by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow); “This song is a dirty, groovy, feel-good slice of rock n’ soul straight from heart of The Answer. Can’t wait to play this one on the road across Europe this spring. Let’s do this.”

The April European dates will see The Answer perform in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and France. A following set of shows in May will take them through Spain, before they return to the UK to play a very special one-off at Dingwalls in Camden on 20th June, their only UK domestic show scheduled so far this year.

MACHUKHA to Release Debut Album “Mochari” on June 7th, Reveal Intense Video for First Single ‘Bezpliddya’

Berlin, Germany -based MACHUKHA have announced the band’s highly anticipated debut album, entitled “Mochari”, which has been slated for release on June 7 through Consouling Sounds. 

MACHUKHA, whose name translates to “step-mother” in Ukrainian, infuse elements of post-black metal, dark hardcore and punk into their music, creating a sound that is as raw as it is powerful. With diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds and through mutual understanding and collaboration, they have established a creative process that reflects the band’s primary goal: to express their shared experiences of retaining humanity in a harsh world.

The band’s upcoming debut album “Mochari” is about resilience. It explores the human capacity to withstand atrocities and continue surviving day by day. Lead vocalist Natalya, who sings exclusively in her native Ukrainian language, uses her voice as an outlet for genuine anguish and the band’s lyrical and musical narratives reflect their own journey – allowing oneself to embrace pain and learn how to let go of it, by surrendering to it. 

The music of MACHUKHA is a sonic landscape filled with intricate guitar melodies, intense bass lines, and rhythmic drum patterns that will captivate your senses from the very first note. Each musical element supports the others, with every moment and tone carrying a specific intention. Together, they create a sonic landscape that thoughtfully guides listeners through precise emotions from the very first second.

In addition to their music, for the upcoming album MACHUKHA has self-produced three music videos that form a continuous story. For these productions, they utilised their additional skills: Vocalist Natalya designed and hand-made six sets of modernised traditional Ukrainian clothing, while guitarist Bláthin directed and assembled a team of creative workers and performers. Bláthin also performed as an extra in the videos using her knowledge as a professional dancer.

MACHUKHA on “Bezpliddya”: “Natalya wrote the lyrics after experiencing a seizure of unknown origin for the first time. The first seizure was an extremely painful case of her whole body cramping and twitching, followed by hours of inability to move. For a period of time she continued to suffer from these seizures, which blocked her from doing anything else especially participating in social life. The lyrics describe one’s emotions in such a harsh circumstances – not being able to live in full because of physical and/or mental illness and not knowing the source of the illness.“

MARIO ROSSI BAND Continue the Blues Legacy with “Smoke Burst” Album, Out Today

Brazilian group Mario Rossi Band continue their legacy of creative, heavy blues with a fourth album, the breathtaking and critically acclaimed Smoke Burst, which shows that he was born with the blues in his veins.

Smoke Burst was recorded at the Galeão Estúdio in São Paulo with (again) keyboardist Edê Boy, drummer Rafael Cacavallo, the jazz sensitive bassist Marcelo Rocha and other guests. The album consists of eight original songs and captures the best of Marios raw yet fluid guitar work and his tight, virtuosic band. Featuring guest saxophonist Richard Fermino’s unparalleled mastery on the opener, Smoke/Burst, and Lu Vitti’s soulful and stirring vocals on It Means Blues, the album quickly transcends its own boundaries. Add to this the masterful harmonica qualities of Steve Bell on the enchanting song There’s No Hope for Willie Brown, and everything becomes even more clear.

The collaboration with co-producer Othon Ribeiro was also a hit. Along with songs like Don’t Tell Me What to Do, Jammin’ for Jimi, Expensive Instinct and Cold Lonely Nights. Smoke Burst is unequivocally the next highlight of Mario Rossi’s illustrious career and a testament to his artistic growth and unbridled potential.

“This was a beat that I brought to the table and when I passed it off to Rusty he just ran with it”, drummer Rusty Miller reveals about the new single. “I wanted something we could groove to. It was fun writing this one in the room together and deciding to record it live in the studio. We weren’t worried about recording to the grid and just let the song float, imperfections and all… exactly how rock and roll should be.”

HIGH DESERT QUEEN‘s sophomore full-length “Palm Reader” is bursting with raw energy and radiates the feeling of 666 diesel horses thundering loud. The album is crammed with cool vibes, ripping leads, and a ton of desert fuzz with a focus on great songs rather than trying to stay confined within a corral of a particular style.

This untamed attitude took its creative high energy source straight from touring. When the band from Texas returned home after six weeks travelling the roads of Europe with the legendary FATSO JETSON and watching them improvising jams every night, they had also taken notes. Although a bit worn from the road, HIGH DESERT QUEEN could hardly wait to start recording. Not focusing overly on how parts were played, allowing themselves imperfections, and ditching the click, the music started to flow like never before. In the very first studio session after the tour, three new songs emerged.

Working within a live framework and mindset, the band from Austin, Texas hit the jackpot and “Palm Reader” bears witness to that claim. In more than one way, HIGH DESERT QUEEN have always been a bit different and much more than ‘another desert rock band’. Formed in Houston, Texas by singer Ryan Garney and guitarist Rusty Miller in 2019, the duo soon recruited drummer Phil Hook (MONTE LUNA) and relocated to Austin in 2020.

With the addition of Rusty’s daughter Morgan on bass, the band hit the ground running. The lone star shone bright when these four got together as desert rock had already endured a long rather dry spell of stagnation and was parched for an injection of fresh sounds.

HIGH DESERT QUEEN had what it takes to kick the scene into gear again. Their vast musical influences ranging from grunge to funk, old school metal to doom and much more provide an ideal foundation for new ideas and a rejuvenating approach to the genre. Their thunderous, fuzz-drenched anthems are delivered with a healthy dose of groove and catchy melodies, and get a massive boost from an emotional intelligence in their music that’s hard to find. The newly-minted sound is linked to the rich heritage of their musical environment, inspiring the style tag ‘Texas desert rock’.
