Heavy metal heretics APOSTOLICA have released ‘Skyfall’, second single taken from the sophomore album ‘Animae Haeretica’ to be released on September 22nd via Scarlet Records.

Stream the single here.

Heavy metal heretics Apostolica have founded a new cult based on a mysterious, intriguing image, a bombastic and pristine sound, ultra-catchy riffs and plenty of unforgettable hooks.

The prominent style of the new album is a dark Teutonic power metal, enriched with church choirs and thunderous organs and featuring epic orchestrations and majestic, powerful vocal lines.

Drawing inspiration from the obscure history of the Apostolics (a Christian sect founded in Northern Italy during the late 13th century by Gherardo Segarelli), ‘Animae Haeretica’ delves deep into the sinister tale of this enigmatic movement.

  • concept-album revolving around the Apostolics, an ancient religious movement with unorthodox beliefs
  • cover & artwork by Andrea Falaschi (Deathless Legacy)
  • for fans of Powerwolf, Sabaton, Ghost

SAHG Unleash New Video Clip ‘Fall Into The Fire (Live)’ from Upcoming EP

Celebrating the first birthday of their much-acclaimed, sixth studio album Born Demon (released on October 21, 2022 via Drakkar Entertainment, order HERE), Norwegian trve heavy metal doom force SAHG has announced the release of an upcoming live EP, titled “Live Demons“, due out on October 13, 2023! Featuring four blistering tracks of the band’s latest album, “Live Demons” was recorded live in concert at Kvarteret in Bergen, Norway, on October 21, 2022. Today, SAHG are premiering a new track taken off their upcoming EP, the heavy-as-hell “Fall Into The Fire (Live)”!

“This was recorded on the opening night of our ‘Norwegian Demon Tour’, and on the night of the album release of ‘Born Demon’. It was such a blast to walk on in front of a packed home crowd and blast straight into ‘Fall Into The Fire’.“ SAHG guitarist & vocalist Olav Iversen comments.“I can still remember my heart racing as the front banner dropped and we were face to face with the room packed with cheering people. I think the recording and the video really catches the intensity that was there that evening, it was an electric vibe in there! You can notice the tension in the performance, we were quite on edge at that point. But that results in some great live heavy metal energy, and I think this version of the song rolls really well.”

Entering the Norwegian metal scene in 2006 as a classic doom band, wasn’t necessarily a recipe for success. Black metal was still the big thing coming from Norway, and there wasn’t much space for bands from other subgenres. Even with Gorgoroth members King ov Hell and Kvitrafn in the line-up, adding a touch of blackness, it wasn’t very likely that SAHG would get an instant break-through. But, the band took the heavy music scene by storm with their blistering, chart-breaking debut Sahg I.

Throughout the following decade, SAHG released five critically acclaimed albums, and played several tours and festivals across Europe, the United States, India and Asia to date. They have toured as support act for bands like Motörhead, W.A.S.P., Celtic Frost, Opeth, Clutch, Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir and Enslaved to name just a few, and appeared at prestigous  festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summerbreeze, Sweden Rock Festival, Hard Rock Hell, Tons of Rock, Inferno Festival and Beyond the Gates among many more. To this day, SAHG has always stayed trve to their doom, gritty stoner and heavy metal roots, and still holds the throne as Norway’s high guardians of doomed heavy metal. They are the bastard sons of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Pentagram and Judas Priest. Classic heavy metal for the new age, with a desire for the occult, aversion for religion, and a gloomy gaze into the inevitable apocalypse, all served with a cold bite of Norwegian Blackness. With the ruthless force of a classic power trio and their latest studio album Born Demon, SAHG ultimately proved to be part of a renaissance that will bring vintage doom and classic heavy metal back to the masses!

Rock Legends HURRICANE Drop New Video for Queen Cover ‘Under Pressure’ in Support of First New Album Release in Over 20 Years

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Hurricane. Leave a comment

HURRICANE was formed in 1983, originally featuring current Foreigner lead vocalist Kelly Hansen (vocals/rhythm guitar), Robert Sarzo (guitar), Tony Cavazo (bass), and Jay Schellen (drums) currently with Yes. Hurricane released four albums: Take What You Want (1985), Over the Edge (1988), Slave to the Thrill (1990), and Liquifury (2001). Over the Edge was its album featuring the charting song “I’m on to You,” which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart in 1988.

In 2010 Sarzo and Cavazo, founding members, reunited and recruited drummer Mike Hansen. In 2021 Australian-born singer Dan Schumann, best known as a member of the Las Vegas headliner vocal group Tenors of Rock, joined. Hurricane dropped their first single “Rock Star Cheater” on July 21st, and critics and fans are taking notice.

“The record is called ‘Reconnected’ and considering the impact of the material, they are doing just that, reconnecting back to the music scene.  The first single and opening track, Rockstar Cheater, is what this band is about, the cracking beat, fast guitars and an insane solo. Is Hurricane here to stay?  I hope so as they have released an album that you will not turn off.”  – Metal Exiles

The album has 11 tracks including their first single, “Rock Star Cheater”, a rerecord of its Top 40 hit “I’m on to You”, and a cover of the Queen/David Bowie track “Under Pressure”, for which they have just released a brand-new video.

The Hinderers is DÅÅTH‘s second studio album and Roadrunner Records debut that was produced by the band and James Murphy, and originally released in March 2007. The now classic album that fused elements of death, thrash, and black metal with technical virtuosity is now available for the first time ever on Vinyl, via Metal Blade Records, in the following colors: Red Smoke, Clear Smoke, and as Gray Black White Marble.

Current and founding member Eyal had this to say about The Hinderers vinyl release and where things are at with the band’s new full-length album, due out from Metal Blade Records in 2024.

“Sometimes it’s good to be wrong.

As I personally celebrate 20 years since writing Ovum, the song that gave me a career, two things I never thought would happen are actually happening:

1. An old Dååth album on vinyl
2. A brand new Dååth album

Every single day, for the past twelve years, fans of the band have been hitting us up, demanding our back catalog on vinyl. While it’s been super flattering that anyone still cares about songs I wrote in my parent’s basement two decades ago, it has felt terrible to tell loyal fans that their desires are pipe dreams.

That’s why it makes me so happy to say that as of today, thanks to Metal Blade, The Hinderers is available in stores and on vinyl.

I don’t know if it’ll get a second pressing.

I don’t know if this will ever happen again.

All I know is that it’s happening now.

So if you’ve ever wanted Dååth on vinyl, get it now because It might not exist in the future.

… and speaking of the future… while writing this, I’m sitting in Orebro, Sweden, at Fascination Street Studios, listening to Jens Bogren mix the upcoming and BRAND NEW DÅÅTH album. It’s sounding tremendous. These songs are epic. Our best.

Stay tuned!“

The Hinderers was produced by James Murphy (Disincarnate ex-Death, Testament, Obituary) and co-produced by Dååth and features guest solos by James Murphy of Death and James Malone of Arsis. James and Eyal engineered the record with the help of Andy Sneap, while Colin Richardson mixed the album for them.

About the band:
Dååth is an American progressive death metal band based in Atlanta, Georgia. The band began their journey in 1999 and stayed busy for just over a decade before taking a hiatus in 2011. In that time, Dååth released 4 studio albums (Futility – self-released 2004, The Hinderers – Roadrunner Records 2007, The Concealers – Century Media 2009, Dååth – Century Media 2010) and toured throughout the world with band’s like Dark Funeral, Naglfar, Zyklon, Dragonforce, Goatwhore, Chimaira, Throwdown, Dying Fetus, and Devildriver making a lasting impression with the metal community and its many subgenres. Dååth also landed a coveted spot on Ozzfest playing before tens of thousands of fans in outdoor amphitheaters across the US in addition to the infamous and long-running metal tour, Summer Slaughter.

In their time, Dååth managed to create an extensive fanbase worldwide with their unique brand of experimental death metal, which makes it no surprise that the metal community lit up once rumors of the band’s return began to surface online. The metal community only continued to buzz with support as members began making posts teasing new material. The metal world made it clear they were ready for the return of one of the strongest progressive death metal bands of the first part of the 00’s.

Dååth is now back with an updated lineup and stronger than ever, which can be heard in the group’s new single “No Rest No End” that saw digital release by Metal Blade Records on February 22, 2023. The track features guest solos by Rafael Trujillo (Obsidious, ex-Obscura, instagram.com/rafaeltrujillo_official) and Spiro Dussias (instagram.com/spirodussias) and was mixed by Jens Bogren (Sepultura, At The Gates, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir), Mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Katatonia, Leprous, Wardruna), with Vocal Production by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Motionless In White, Wage War), and Engineering by John Douglass (Megadeth, Alluvial, The Contortionist).

Dååth followed up the release of “No Rest No End” with a cover of Death‘s “The Philosopher” that features Dan Sugarman of Ice Nine Kills and Rafael Trujillo and was released digitally on April 24, 2023.

On May 30, Dååth released the original single “Purified By Vengeance” that features both Mark Holcomb of Periphery and composer and sound designer Mick Gordon. The track was mixed by Jens Bogren, with Andrew Wade as vocal producer, and John Douglass handling engineering duties.

The band’s latest digital single, a cover of Morbid Angel‘s classic Where the Slime Live featuring a guest guitar solo performance by Dave Davidson of Revocation. The track was mixed and mastered by Dave Otero with artwork by Ryan Wolanski.

KK’S PRIEST Unleash Venomous New Track + Music Video ‘Strike Of The Viper’

KK’S PRIEST – the iconic heavy metal group of iconic Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals), along with A.J. Mills (guitar), Tony Newton (bass) and Sean Elg (drums) – will proudly reveal their new sophomore offering, The Sinner Rides Again, on September 29, 2023 via Napalm Records!

Following up on the release of their blistering newest singles “One More Shot At Glory” and “Reap The Whirlwind”, KK’S PRIEST have just unveiled a third new track – the unrelenting “Strike Of The Viper”. The undeniable barnburner proves itself as one of the album’s most unforgettable tracks – featuring a hooky chorus, dynamic rhythms and of course, a searing solo!

K.K. Downing says about “Strike Of The Viper”:
“Beware – ‘Strike Of The Viper’ is now here… These demons can sting and bite their way into your brain, what world are they from? I would very much like to see this one send all mosh pits spinning into a blur as KK’S PRIEST deliver up some fast and furious metal.  Strike after Strike — just like the viper.”

On the heels of their highly-lauded 2021 debut album, Sermons Of The Sinner – which debuted within the Top 20 on charts in the United States, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland and more – KK’S PRIEST return to sin again! With The Sinner Rides Again, KK’S PRIEST double down on the ripping melodic force of their debut, Sermons Of The Sinner – which Metal Hammer UK dubbed “hugely enjoyable” and Metal Injection cited as boasting “catchy hooks and plenty of guitar wizardry”. The Sinner Rides Again wields nine tracks of pure hellfire, produced and written by Downing and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen.

After stepping out of the Judas Priest spotlight, the return of K.K. Downing was uncertain. Nearly ten years after its onset, the genre-defining guitar icon returned from his hiatus with proof that he was nowhere ready to cease writing classic metal songs or to put away his famous Flying V guitars – taking part in acclaimed international comeback performances (including with his former Judas Priest bandmates when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022) that would act as harbingers of the formation of KK’S PRIEST.

Downing was recently quoted saying, “We’ve lost a lot of great people – Dio, Lemmy, for example – but this amazing and unique style of music must be preserved for as long as possible and I feel it within me to continue to play my role, as I always have, and to defend this metal genre, which we all know and love.”The Sinner Rides Again is a testament to this call for the classics while speeding full force into the future, delivered by some of heavy metal’s most essential performers.

Pre-Order The Sinner Rides Again HERE

The immense and intricate art for The Sinner Rides Again was created by talented artist Andy Pilkington.

A haunting introduction of dual guitars carries the listener into the thundering “Sons Of The Sentinel”, winding across a wasteland of burning riffs and a deftly dynamic guitar solo to kick off the record with relentless energy! The undeniably catchy anthem “Strike Of The Viper” proves itself as one of the album’s most unforgettable tracks, before “Reap The Whirlwind” crashes in with a classic heavy metal power thrust of soaring leads, hair-raising harmonics and earworm vocal hooks. First single “One More Shot At Glory” raises its sword high, instantaneously calling for battle with its opening riff and beckoning verses. Heroic chants and unrelenting double bass set the stage for a galloping midsection as a spine-tingling guitar solo commands the song. Striding “Hymn 66” commands with sultry, slow and low metallic punches and a bluesy gait, while massive title track “The Sinner Rides Again” straddles balladic passages and sinister, head-bobbing choruses. Beginning with ominous bells, “Keeper Of The Graves” rounds the final bend of the album with roaring cascades and a dynamic performance from Owens, before charging “Pledge Your Souls” and rollercoaster closer epic “Wash Away Your Sins” rise as the final embers of a certified burner – proving itself as a must-hear metal album of the year by the greatest to ever perform the genre!

The Sinner Rides Again track listing:
1. Sons Of The Sentinel
2. Strike Of The Viper
3. Reap The Whirlwind
4. One More Shot At Glory
5. Hymn 66
6. The Sinner Rides Again
7. Keeper Of The Graves

MIND/KNOT Share ‘Parasite… Perpetual Black’ Video

Italian chaotic hardcore unit MIND/KNOT will release their new album, “Esigenza”, on September 1st, 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

In advance of the record’s release, today the band unleashes a new preview with an accompanying video. Watch “Parasite… Perpetual Black” at THIS LOCATION.

The band comments: “This speaks of the continuous struggle with our inner ‘Parasite’, representing our own darker and more primordial side, the side of ourselves that makes us give in to our most violent and self-destructive temptations”.

“Esigenza” tracklist:

1- Astray 0.50
2- Broken Light 1.06
3- Stop The Blood 1.02
4- Nightmare 1.06
5- My Queen 2.33
6- Mostro 1.23
7- Witches 1.18
8- Keep Me Alive 1.29
9- Rise Up 1.31
10- Parasite 0.57
11- … Perpetual Black 0.52
12- Killed By Faith 2.10
13- Wrath 1.04
14- Eren 0.58
15- Obey 1.26
16- Warcrimes 2.44

At once prudently traditional and brazenly unorthodox, MIND/KNOT’s iteration of hardcore simmers and shimmers, flooding the senses in a fever dream of passion, violence and spectral mysticism.

Rome-based MIND/KNOT formed in 2018 and originally united Yari Caramore (bass), Simone Perna (drums) and Marco Burrascano (singer). In 2019 the band released a 7-track EP, while their first album “Eat the Leaf!” came out in 2021. Both records were very clearly inspired by the original hardcore of the 80’s, drawing influences from legendary acts such as Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains and Circle Jerks.
After some time, the band started to get tired of the linearity of that original sound: moved by the desire to express something else besides anger and violence and willing to externalize the discomfort from which such emotions arise, the project therefore began to change musical direction, incorporating darker sounds and unsettling tempos and metrics. This is also thanks to the then new guitarist Roberto Cadau, who joined the band in 2021 bringing in a new range of influences and several mathcore, chaotic hardcore and noise punk elements.

On their upcoming album, MIND/KNOT embrace all the beloved history of hardcore to create something that is more personal, equally pummeling and heavy as soaring, both beautiful and cruel in different moments.
