Junkyard Drive 2023

After a promising debut album in 2017, Danish hard rockers JUNKYARD DRIVE were ready to explode in the scene in 2018 with their second studio effort, “Black Coffee”. The timing was right, the band was kinda hot, but no one could expect the amazing collection of songs that the collective would write and record for the album.

The record was an instant success, with hits such as “Where I Belong” “Sweet Little Dreamer” and “Way Too Long” getting massive airplay on Danish radio, topping the streaming charts, and granting Junkyard Drive spots in the main festivals and Denmark and a start to their international career. Today, “Black Coffee” is one of Denmark’s hard rock’s most listened albums online, with over seven million streams on the main platforms. “Where I Belong” is even the most popular Junkyard Drive song, with more than three million streams on Spotify.

Now, after years sold out, “Black Coffee” will finally have a new vinyl edition. It will be available on purple 180-gram LP, limited to 500 copies and hand-numbered. A classic format for a modern classic hard rock album, which the collectors will not want to miss.

“Black Coffee” will be re-released on LP (180gr purple vinyl, limited to 500 hand-numbered copies) via Mighty Music on September 1st, 2023. Pre-orders are available here.

“Black Coffee” tracklist:

1. Time Is Over
2. Sweet Little Dreamer
3. Sucker For Your Love
4. Make Up Your Mind
5. Backseat Baby
6. Way To Long
7. Through The Door
8. Same Old Story
9. Wasted Nights
10. Where I Belong
11. See You Next Time

Ever since 2014, Junkyard has been across half the world. With more than 100 concerts played, over five million streams, and three records to this day, they’ve solidly planted their flag on the international rock scene, playing the big stages as the one in Sweden Rock Festival and doing the big tours with, for instance, Eclipse.

After the promising debut “Sin & Tonic” in 2027 and hitting success in 2018 with “Black Coffee”, the Danes were back in 2022 with new faces and new razor-sharp songs. the band is now ready with their next record “Electric Love”.

”Electric Love” marked a newfound maturity in the group’s universe and made them ready for the high flights that would follow – bigger festivals, bigger tours, bigger numbers, and wider exposure.

Before taking the next step forward – their biggest ever – Junkyard Drive now takes a deep breath, glances at the past, and reissues one of the stepstones in their career.

“Black Coffee” recording lineup:
Kristian Johansen – lead and backing vocals
Birk – lead guitar, backing vocals
Ben Høyer – rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Claus Munch – drums, percussions
Tim Meldal – bass, backing vocals

After the release of their very successful self-titled album BEYOND THE BLACK, which was released in January 2023 the band now share the brand new single ‘Call My Name’ with their fans. Beside that BEYOND THE BLACK also announce their Dancing In The Dark tour for 2024.

Jennifer Haben comments:
„With “Call My Name” we wanted to create a song with whom you cannot help but bang your head real hard. It’s organic, honest and in your face. Inspired by the story of Stephen Kings The Dark Tower we’ve formed a symbiosis of its elements and our own to tell a whole new tale about yearning, persistence and these wounds of human life that feel as if they will never heal completely.”

STONE BROKEN to Headline Planet Rock’s Winter’s End Festival, Announce New Album + Label Deal

STONE BROKEN are thrilled to announce a new chapter in their rock career with a Saturday night headline slot at the Planet Rock Winter’s End festival, February 3rd, 2024 as well as a new label deal with rock independent 7Hz Productions (ADA). The band, who launched back in 2016 with the incredible support of Planet Rock radio, have now come full circle and are thrilled to perform this headline show which will see them return with brand new material and new album due in 2024.

Says lead singer Rich Moss “The last few years have been incredibly difficult for Stone Broken but we are back and re-energised, clear of a difficult label relationship and writing great new material which will be ready for 2024 so there is nowhere we’d rather launch this next phase of our career than headlining the awesome Planet Rock Winters End festival! We can’t wait to get back on that stage again!”.

Hailing from Walsall, Stone Broken launched on to the rock scene back in 2016 with their successfully self-released debut album All In Time, eventually amassing over 10 million You Tube views and just shy of 9.5 million Spotify streams.

Two further albums Ain’t Always Easy and Revelation were then released by Spinefarm Records in what proved to be a very fractious and commercially frustrating relationship. Now free of that, the band have discovered a new-found liberation and together with their management company JABA Music, have inked a joint venture with independent rock label 7Hz (ADA), which will see singles and a brand-new album being released in the UK and internationally in 2024.

Says drummer Robyn Haycock “We started our career back in 2016 with a successful self-released album and then got into a relationship with Spinefarm that just didn’t work out. Together with our management, we’ve decided to take back control to run the campaign we believe is best for us and our fans. It has been a very frustrating last few years but we’re all that bit wiser now! We just want our fans to know that we are pumped, we are back and will be releasing our best new music very soon! To the Broken Army we say, get ready because we are coming back stronger than ever!!”

7Hz Productions, an independent rock label and publisher set up by Barry Campbell and former Albert Productions head of A&R, James Cassidy, has steered the recent successful top 20 debt album releases for Scottish rockers Mason Hill as well as the highly acclaimed and successful Sundowners album for The Answer. With former Earache marketing manager Dan Tobin now joining the 7Hz team as global campaign manager, Stone Broken are thrilled to be part of this new venture with a dedicated team of rock specialists.

Says Tobin of his new role “I’m very pleased to be providing campaign management to the burgeoning 7Hz label, having worked with many of its acts on previous projects and releases. I’ve spent my entire working life helping to break new and developing rock acts so am always excited by the prospect of a new challenge. I look forward to continuing to build an upwards trajectory for fantastic bands like Stone Broken, Mason Hill, and The Answer, all of whom are amazing examples of the rich and vibrant British rock music scene we all love”.

For Stone Broken, 2024 is a year they are pumped and looking forward to. With new singles and an album in works, the Planet rock Winters End festival cannot come soon enough!

Chris Davis (lead guitar)

CORONATUS Introduce New Band Members & Premiere Video for Brand New Single ‘Dark Ice’

With their new single, “Dark Ice”, symphonic metal act CORONATUS introduces their new band members Nemesis, who – with her rock-like vocals – acts as musical counterpart to mezzo-soprano Leni as well as the band’s new guitarist Harry and offer a first glimpse at their upcoming 11th studio album, which is expected to be released in 2024 via Massacre Records!

“Dark Ice deals with our deepest fears of both the unknown, and the strange. It deals with losing control over what could happen to us with every next step we take in an unsafe and unknown environment or situation.” The band comments.

A music video for the new CORONATUS single “Dark Ice” ( available on all digital services at THIS LOCATION! ) is now premiering here:

“Imagine a scene sliding over the ice of a frozen deep lake in complete darkness! You do not see your path, nor will you know, if it’s safe or not. Will the ice underneath your skates be stable or will you break through and drown in the cold black waters?

And did you recognize the strange creature behind you, both menacing and beautiful at the same time, frightening you with its dark eyes as well, as the lyrics of this song imply?

The creature symbolizes another fear, the fear of the stranger, the alien, the migrant. Is it really dangerous? Or is this only your stupid imagination, which makes you feel this fear and horror?

It’s the fear of threatening situations, both real or unreal ones, which we cannot control at all, which overwhelms us and drowns us in panic.”

CORONATUS is:
Leni Eitrich – Vocals (Mezzo-soprano)
Nemesis – Vocals (Rock)
Kristina Jülich – Violin
Harry Zeidler – Guitars
Mats Kurth – Drums

Israeli SPAWN OF EVIL Announce New Album “Sadistic Missionaries”

Pest Records is proud to announce the upcoming release of the long-awaited third studio album of Israeli Death Metal veterans SPAWN OF EVIL. Titled “Sadistic Missionaries“, the band’s new opus is a decade long worth material featuring 8 new tracks of traditional brutal Death Metal with melodic guitar lines, furious rhythm section and wrathful vocals that will surely impress fans of bands like Morbid Angel, Benediction, Gorefest and the likes, and it will be released this Autumn.

Here’s what the band’s leader and founding member Moti Rokah had to say about the new collaboration and album: “We are proud to be the new born of the Pest Records family, this collaboration was intended to be! We are very eager to be side by side with the monstrosities Pest Records holds under their wings!

Our new album Sadistic Missionaries is a milestone in our 25 years journey of pure fun & anger release. The album speaks of those who embrace power to its evil form rather than humanity…
In our families, our education, our governments, our religions. Let there be SpawnPest!”

With 25 years of activity under-belt, SPAWN OF EVIL have released 2 full-length albums so far and played live intensively throughout the years becoming one of the most representative Death Metal bands in Israel. Check out the newest video “Rhea of the Gods” (track featured on “Sadistic Missionaries”, too) here:

ASTRALBORNE Release New Album And Share Music Video for ‘Skybreaker’

ASTRALBORNE has today released their second album, Across the Aeons, via Prosthetic Records. The Midwest melodeath trio’s sophomore sees the band take to the furthest corners of the galaxy, exploring themes of Lovecraftian cosmicism and interstellar fantasy fiction. Alongside Across the Aeons‘ release, ASTRALBORNE has also shared a music video for the album track Skybreaker.

Stream Across the Aeons via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify.
Order Across the Aeons here.

Speaking on the album release, ASTRALBORNE comments: “Today we are honored to announce the release of our second full length album, Across the Aeons out NOW on Prosthetic Records. Grab a copy! Like, share, comment, and LISTEN on whatever platform you’re on! Once again, we’d like to extend a tremendous thank you to everyone involved for allowing this album to see the light of day and to all of our fans for their continued support. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

On Skybreaker, the band adds: “Skybreaker is an artillery blast of melancholic riffs and anthemic songwriting. Fast, fun, and straight to the point. Probably our shortest full song to date, this banger pulls out all the stops and goes right for the jugular.”

After their 2020 debut album, Eternity’s End, introduced ASTRALBORNE as accomplished purveyors of both compellingly intricate melodicism and dexterous brutality in equal measure, Across the Aeons’ creative process began immediately following their lauded first full-length release. Commencing writing in spring of 2020, the group soon found themselves expanding upon the more grandiose passages of their sonic foundations, with conscious efforts made to accommodate cellist and composer Kakophonix’s contributions.

Recorded by bassist and vocalist Paul Fuzinki in 2021 between Call of the Yeti Studio in Swanton, OH and North Shore Studios in Fife Lake, MI, Across the Aeons was then mixed by Unnus Latif at Black Moon Recordings, Columbus, OH and mastered by Orden Ogan’s Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann at Greenman Studios in Germany. The end result of production sees ASTRALBORNE’s knack for lofty fretwork and rhythmic pummel shine among sanguine acoustic arrangements and beguiling orchestration.

The 12 tracks on offer chart a journey of acceptance in the face of humankind’s impermanence within a cosmic void, be it Fuzinski’s bellowing promise of hell itself, “chaos, death and fire” on lead single War Vessel or interdimensional overlap on Gemini’s celestial death metal pomp. Elsewhere ASTRALBORNE team up with labelmates Steve Redmond (Foretoken, The Day of the Beast) and Yegor Savovin (Fires in the Distance) on December Flower and the resplendent mid-album instrumental Promethean Fire respectively.

ASTRALBORNE’s interstellar voyage is visually brought to life in evocative fashion by Spanish artist Juanjo Castellano (The Black Dahlia Murder, Voidceremony, Coffins). For as alone as we may be in the cosmos of Across the Aeons, the band’s second album shirks the nihilistic connotations of such a realisation, opting instead to revel in the totality of all beings and things.

Across the Aeons tracklist:
1. Exordium
2. War Vessel
3. Nocturneous
4. Skybreaker
5. Gemini
6. December Flower
7. Promethean Fire
8. Star of Extinction
9. Paradigm Shift
10. The Pillars of Creation
11. Across the Aeons
12. Cadence of Sorrow

ASTRALBORNE is:
Paul Fuzinski – Bass and vocals
Derik Smith – Guitar
Jayson Cessna – Drums
