From New York City emerges CHARITY KILL, the solo electronic darkwave dance project from artist Ashley Dalle (ex-Wax Girls, ex-Trash Music)! CHARITY KILL is now debuting its first ever single, “Orchid,” which can be found at THIS LOCATION.

CHARITY KILL creator Ashley Dalle comments, “I created ‘Garden of Earthly Horrors’ as a conceptual love letter to rhythms found in nature. The pounding siren call of ‘Orchid’ was born to manifest a sense of urgency in the listener, and draw your attention in. Early reviews of the album have compared the haunting dark melodies to the music of mushrooms hooked up to electrodes, and a feast for the senses.”

“Orchid” is taken from CHARITY KILL‘s upcoming album, ‘Garden of Earthly Horrors,’ which will be digitally released on all platforms on August 18, 2023.

The artwork for ‘Garden of Earthly Horrors’ was created by photographer Gretchen Hargrove and can be found below along with the tracklisting.

Tracklist:

  1. Daisy (Intro) (03:03)
  2. Hydrangea – (03:02)
  3. Marigold – (02:25)
  4. Orchid – (04:00)
  5. Wildflower – (02:29)
  6. Amaranth – (03:42)
  7. Carnation (Outro) – (03:10)
    Full album running time: 21:51

Charity Kill is the solo debut electronic darkwave dance project from New York City musician Ashley Dalle (ex-Wax Girls, ex-Trash Music). After a long hiatus from punk and goth bands, she began churning away synth melodies in the dark at home. Charity Kill will stir up your deepest desires and lay them all out on the dance floor.

Upcoming EP, Garden of Earthly Horrors, is a call and response to the overwhelming font of externalized emotions. The EP plays with melody as a vessel for the listener to be one in with Dalle’s emotions as she dances through her garden of romantic longing and existential dread.

Recording Lineup: Ashley Dalle

All music was produced, mixed, and mastered by Ashley Dalle.

SUFFER YOURSELF to Release Fourth Album “Axis of Tortures” on September 22nd

SUFFER YOURSELF will unleash their fourth full-length album, “Axis of Tortures”, on September 22nd via Aesthetic Death.

Today, this death-doom metal institution unveils the first track taken from the album. Stream “Axis Despair” at THIS LOCATION.

Following the success of their third album (“Rip Tide”, 2021) – SUFFER YOURSELF took the opportunity to do tours of both Scandinavia and Belgium, once the global pandemic restrictions had lifted. A period of gigs which far exceeded what the band might normally undertake – with all gigs meeting to great success and the live set being a feature for the band into the future.

Within “Rip Tide” SUFFER YOURSELF could be heard to tease out and develop the death metal edge to their music. In the proceeding months following that release the band have worked tirelessly writing and recording the new album “Axis Of Tortures”. This has culminated in a more aggressive approach and applied compositional ideas, incorporating death metal more prominently into their sound – meeting with doomed psychedelics and some interesting “twists”.

“Axis of Tortures” is based around a concept and representation of any perceived tortures as a 4-dimensional geometrical graph, where there are three real coordinate axis (Insanity, Despair and Pain) and one assumed – Time (a 4th dimension, as we know it). Thinking about it from pure geometrical, and metaphysical point – any point in the 3D space can be anywhere in the coordinates and have any values, for example, (0,0,0) – is a very centre of all planes whilst, moving away from the central fulcrum, brings any combination of the three aforementioned variables and subsequently different amounts of each torture within the axis. We all exist somewhere in within the spectrum of tortures.

Regardless of the concept, the funeral death metal on “Axis of Tortures” will appeal to most discerning death metal fans, especially those who enjoy their death metal with a doomed morose overtone and steeped in the sounds of the early 90s.

To finish, it is worth mentioning the cover art for the album, a piece from Austrian surrealist painter Otto Rapp. The artist himself approved the use of this particular work, entitled “Eye of the Dark Star” (1993) to adorn the album cover. In our opinion, this fantastic piece of artwork brilliantly reflects the musical vision.

Tracklist:

01. Enter the Axis (intro)
02. Axis Insanity
03. Axis Despair
04. Axis Pain
05. Axis Time
06. Serutrot fo Sixa

ETERNAL RETURNS Drop ‘Ravenous Shores: Whispers of the Quarantine Island’ Lyric Video

Metal enthusiasts, prepare yourselves for a spine-tingling journey as ETERNAL RETURNS, the ferocious Indian Metal band, reveals their captivating lyric video for “Ravenous Shores: Whispers of the Quarantine Island.” This haunting track is a captivating glimpse into the dark history of Poveglia, a small island in Italy shrouded in tales of plague, isolation, and eerie legends.

Derived from their highly anticipated upcoming album, “Hunchback Hatred,” Eternal Returns delves into the chilling legacy of Poveglia, a place that has left an indelible mark on the annals of history. Poveglia, once a quarantine station during the devastating plague outbreaks in Venice from the 14th to the 18th century, served as a refuge for those seeking isolation from the deadly diseases of the time. Its reputation as a desolate island filled with suffering and despair continues to captivate imaginations to this day.

Poveglia’s sinister narrative takes another terrifying twist as it transforms into a mental hospital in the early 20th century. Infamous for its alleged mistreatment of patients, the hospital was shrouded in rumors of cruel experiments and lobotomies, leaving behind a lingering negative energy that sparked numerous paranormal legends and stories of hauntings. Today, Poveglia Island stands abandoned and inaccessible to the public, earning its reputation as one of Italy’s most haunted places.

Eternal Returns, comprised of Narendra Patel on vocals and lyrics, Harsh Makwana on lead and rhythm guitars, bass, and Viktor Lytvynov on drums, brings this chilling tale to life through their uncompromising musical prowess.

The captivating lyric video for “Ravenous Shores: Whispers of the Quarantine Island” was masterfully crafted by Volume Agency. Discover more about Volume Agency and its exceptional work at www.volumeagency.net.

The video premiered on “Metal Has No Borders“!!

NEONFLY + DRAGONY Join Forces for Headline Tour in Mexico

UK alternative metal act NEONFLY is thrilled to announce the band’s highly anticipated return to Mexican soil. After a successful debut in the country last year, NEONFLY is ready to be back as headliners, bringing their electrifying energy and infectious melodies to their dedicated Mexican fanbase.

In May 2022, NEONFLY had the privilege of supporting Dutch symphonic metal heavyweights Epica during their tour in Mexico. The shows were a resounding success, and NEONFLY immediately formed a deep connection with Mexican audiences. Since then, Mexico has become the band’s number one country across all social media and streaming platforms, solidifying their desire to return and give their fans an unforgettable experience.

This year, NEONFLY explored various options to make their way back to Mexico. Initially considering opening for another prominent band, the sustained interest and support from Mexican fans inspired them to take a leap of faith and embark on their first proper headline tour. With a total of 8 dates across Mexico, NEONFLY is set to deliver an extraordinary performance in each city.

Teaming up with the esteemed Mexican agency EA Booking, NEONFLY will join forces with Austrian power metal band Dragony, who are set to co-headline all shows.

Dates as follows:
10/19 – León – Rolling House
10/20 – SLP – Bunker 57
10/21 – Monterrey – Café Iguana
10/22 – Torreón – Vértigo
10/26 – Guadalajara – Centro Cultural Calzada
10/27 – Morelia – Jam Bar
10/28 – CDMX – Gato Calavera
10/29 – Querétaro – Club Latino

Tickets are available at THIS LOCATION

Guitarist & composer Frederick Thunder expresses his excitement about the upcoming tour, stating, “I’ve known Siegfried from Dragony for over 10 years. We used to hang out at festivals, and often met up backstage. Our bands have gone through a lot of similar experiences, from booking our own shows and tours respectively in our early days, to supporting the same bands on the road -back in 2015 they supported Gamma Ray on the first half of the tour, and then we did the second half of that tour- to organising big and successful crowdfunding campaigns to finance our album recording costs… we’ve been able to help each other out and share advice on so many topics. The only thing we haven’t done yet is actually tour together! So it feels like the right thing to do, and the right moment to do it, and I’m really looking forward to it.

I’m also incredibly excited for Neonfly to go back to Mexico as headliners. Before May 2022 we were complete unknowns there, and after just one tour, the response to our music was so enthusiastic that we got this offer and we just couldn’t pass on this opportunity! Being half-Mexican and having partly grown up in Mexico, it really means a lot to me to be able to go back there and see the band grow and be accepted and welcomed so warmly.”

NEONFLY has had a stellar 2023 so far, releasing a new music video in May, then going on to support US metalcore legends Escape The Fate on tour in Germany, and playing a few select festival shows in the UK. They are currently also working on some new music to be released soon.

DWAAL Reveal Details of Upcoming Album + Premiere New Single ‘Repentance of a Bastard’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 1, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DWAAL. Leave a comment

When DWAAL released their debut full-length album “Gospel of the Vile” in July of 2020, things were definitely looking up for the band.  Reviews were excellent, shows had been booked throughout Europe, and a booking deal, which as everyone knows, is not an easy thing to get, was there for the taking. But then disaster struck in the form of the Pandemic, and the hopes and dreams of DWAAL, along with those of every other band on the planet, rapidly evaporated.

What followed for DWAAL was a nightmare beyond their worst imaginings. With the world completely shut down, and all live performances cancelled for an unspecified amount of time, their much anticipated tour fell by the wayside, along with the booking deal.  Eviction from their rehearsal space was compounded by flooding in their new space, whilst Covid itself caused two layoffs, three breakups, five mental breakdowns, five hospitalisations and one near-death experience.

All the rage and frustration that the band felt over those three miserable years  had to be channelled into something, and it indeed it was, because, DWAAL harnessed the negative and used it to created their upcoming sophomore album “Never Enough”.

Whilst “Never Enough” itself will not be out until the 29th September, Dark Essence Records have chosen today, the 1st of August, to release a single from the album, and to celebrate that release with a live performance at the Dark Essence Records Warm Up Show for Bergen’s Beyond the Gate Festival.  Label-mates BLODHEMN will also be along to make it a night to remember.

The single, titled “Repentance of a Bastard” can be downloaded or streamed from a number of services at THIS location.

About the single, DWAAL had this to say:

“Repentance of a Bastard” is a sorrowful primal scream about hurting the ones you love – sometimes beyond repair. It talks about a broken spirit, and about how sometimes ceasing contact may be the only way out of the black hole, for everyone involved. Because everyone is the villain in someone else’s story.

Formed in Oslo, Norway, in 2014 DWAAL’s lineup of Bjørnar Kristiansen on Vocals, Eigil Dragvik on Guitar & Backing vocals, Rikke Karlsen on Guitar, Stian Hammer on Bass, Siri Vestby on Synth, and Anders Johnsen on drums,  plays their own version of what some call doom, some call sludge and some call post-metal.

Whatever you prefer to call it, it’s heavy, with a capital H.  A dense, suffocating wall of sound that fluctuates between  being aggressive, melancholic and downright hypnotizing.  On stage, the band are best described as captivating.

The album “Never Enough” is a hard reboot of all that is DWAAL. It is a work that, given the circumstances under which it was written, is angrier, hungrier, more ruthless, and more personal, than ever before.

Tracklisting for “Never Enough” is as follows:

  1. All Masters, All Servants
  2. Pseudanthium Aionios
  3. Leichenhalle
  4. Repentance of a Bastard
  5. You Will Never Be Enough

“Never Enough” will be available in CD, LP and Digital formats, and can now be pre-ordered from the following:
